ERA iRealty has been remarkably disastrous during my process of attempting to initiate a leasing contract. I acknowledge that every contract involves a realtor and an owner, but the communication and effort between the two have been unprofessional and lacking in integrity. The realtor I was working with initially spoke to me and gave me insightful details into the property, and expressed the owners interest in our application. Within a day or two our application was completely rejected. There was no receipt of a TAR-2212, and we were denied on the premise of inadequate finances. The application guidelines/tenant requirement documentation that was initially provided stated that 3x the value of rent was required for lease. We provided around 6-7x this value, maybe more. We were also told that a credit report was never run. This made us question the ethics of both the realtor and the owner. The realtor sent us a follow up email stating that she and the owner were unsure if our income was stable, and they were concerned that our monthly expenses on dogs and/or car payments would render us unable to meet our monthly rent obligation. Additionally, previous tenants and COVID were blamed for our application not being considered. I tried to call the realtor, and to no surprise numerous calls went unanswered. While we still dont know exactly what is going on between the realtor and the owner of the property, we do feel discriminated against. After our application and an application from another individual, the tenant criteria are continuously being updated. Ironically, we still meet all the criteria and are not allowed any consideration.Bottom line: If you prefer transparency, promptness, professionalism, or any other required skills that should be met when dealing with property, I would go elsewhere with your time and money. Thank goodness there are other available properties because after typing this I wouldnt waste another minute on these folks. It is one thing to have an owner that discriminates or makes hasty decisions, but it is another thing to have a realtor that is willing to piggyback off of it. I hope this company is able to figure out what went wrong and prevent any other family from being forced into the same situation.*The realtor also never used a company email, but instead a personal email which we thought was odd.Realtor: Judith
