I was in search of someone who had background in working with german-engineered vehicles. I have a 2007 Volkswagen Beetle and it was in need of a transmission, radiator and fuel flush. Most other establishments will charge you out the roof for those services. The gentleman in the office were so astute when it came to All Things Volkswagen. I appreciate their expertise and also the price point. I was Leary at first but after this experience I know that I will look no further for future car repairs these people are not only honest but they care about people

Took my car in to get an estimate on A/C repair. The wait was an hour and I stayed up there. No longer than 1 hour spent! Gave me a price and also put free-on in the car to hold me over until I can get the part replaced in a week. Friendly, knowledgeable, timely.

I have been working with City garage since they opened and I have found them to be more dependable and more professional than any other repair facility in Plano Texas. I have always stood behind them and always will. I have no problem sending people to them. This visit was very discouraging for me because they had my car 27 hours total to change a valve. The part had to replaced two times (maybe three - at this point I dont really know). I have always appreciated the staff and they are always pleasant to deal with. On this particular case I spoke with Tory who was extremely pleasant and professional and always had my best interest in mind. There were a few times that I spoke with the gentleman named Kevin (that I have never met) who on two separate occasions told me that the car was ready and that the car was being completed and he would contact me back in a few minutes and I never received a call either time. This was very discouraging. I turned my car in on last Thursday afternoon at 1:30 ( I was there at 1:00) I was promised to have it at 10:00 a.m. the next day and it wasnt until 3:30 the next day and in the process of the delay I lost $100 that I cannot retrieve (not the cost of the repair and labor) and that was extremely valuable for me at this time being unemployed since March due to The Pandemic. I still stand behind their work but this visit was my most uncomfortable and stressful visit ever. These people are always busy and often understaffed because of the volume of people they take in I understand the demand put on them but when a promise is made a promise should be kept and although I dont know anything about car repair or parts I dont understand why replacing a part with a new efficient one doesnt work the first time and why it takes two or three times to replace a new item.

Ive been to the shop several times and will definitely be going back. Friendly, professional, and exceptional pricing for very high quality work. I am delighted to have found an automotive repair shop that I can trust, treats me with dignity and respect, and that I know Im getting a great deal.

Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Brought my car in for a check engine light, diagnosis fee was $150. Had to call in to check the status of my vehicle, didn’t provide updates within their promised timeframe. When it comes to repair, the price is extremely high compare to other repair shops. They wanted 900 for a job that could be done 300 at other places, TRIPLE. Not to mention, the OEM parts is only 180 on Amazon. When I questioned the estimate, front desk Tory is dishonest, saying the parts itself is 580, so their labor is 320?!! Too high. They even wanted to clean my car battery terminal for $37.5, RIDICULOUS. Paid my diagnosis fee and left. Save yourself some money and find other places.Thanks city garage Plano, you will never have my business.

Had a major repair done on my vehicle. Engine removed to do the work. They had to keep it for several days. I would have liked updates during this time instead of having to call them but its not a huge deal to me. I called and got updates that way. Everything was explained fully to me. I was satisfied with the work they did. The only issue is the front windows no longer auto roll up and down like they are supposed to do. You have to hold down the button. A very minor thing that they said theyd be happy to fix if we bring it back in. I will most likely use them again in the future.

For as long as I live in Texas I will never take my car anywhere else. I brought them a used ABS module because mine wasnt working properly and couldnt pass inspection, the used piece ended up not working correctly either (a problem Ford really should recall but doesnt) nonetheless they spent the weekend taking both ABS units apart, figured out a way to use pieces from both and saved me $1000 easy. They are the type of mechanic shop you hope to find. If you live anywhere near them this is the place to go. Thanks again guys

Part $133labor $125find out what is wrong $150so I understand a business needs to make moneybutNot sure a part that autozone sells for $25 need to be $133Searching youtube videos to replace the part I found that it is on top of the engine in easy reach steps areto unplug a cable, take off 2 bolts, put the new part on, screw back down the two bolts and plug in the cable. I understand the guys have to take courses which cost money but not sure how that 10 mins should cost $125What really is making not go back to this place is the charge of $150 to plug in a code reader into the obd port and read a code that tells you exactly what is wrong.

I would have to agree with Chris Thomas. The communication and follow through here is terrible. I dropped my car off at 8am and they said they would call me in an hour with an update. I had to call 3 hours later because I never heard from them. Then they told me my vehicle would be ready by 5 and they would call me. No call until 5:15 and they would be closing soon so the store manager Kevin suggested that he could put my keys on the gas cap so I could come pick it up after hours. WHAT?? I hope thats not how they usually handle that situation. Also, apparently the car had been completed well before 5 but they just didnt call...I would look elsewhere if I were you. I certainly will not be returning.

Excellent service @ City Garage # 1 in Plano; had tires delivered from Tire Rack to their location and they installed them quickly, also replacing an air pressure sensor and performed an alignment. I’d recommend them to anyone needing service!

Very professional. They don’t push for you to fix everything they find wrong or needs attention due to mileage. I liked how they are able to provide me and my husband transport to and from home to allow us to work while waiting on the car and to pick up the car when ready.

I had the Knock Sensors replaced deep in the engine of my 2002 Chevy Silverado . Not only did I get a great price but they finished the job the same day I brought it in . This business is very friendly and professional . I will bring all of my work to them

I started using City Garage several years ago. I have a 2013 F-150 and always took it to the Ford dealer. However, dissatisfied with the dealer’s service, I tried City Garage and found the customer service and work to be excellent. The technicians are knowledgeable and thorough. There’s no pressure to have needless work done. My truck is in great hands.

It appears the emergency brake cable was replaced and the oil was changed, but worse than not checking and topping off all of the fluids as historically been done by this garage, power steering fluid was apparently drained out and a very expensive and unnecessary repair was recommended. Upon return of my vehicle, loud noises during braking and turning were present. I discovered that a several ounces of power steering fluid were missing, and that the windshield wiper fluid was one quart low. I’ll never take my vehicle to this garage again.

Went to City Garage for my state inspection. Quick turn around, employee I worked with was courteous and professional, nice clean waiting area.

They always give you an honest take and have fair pricing in line with other shops but perform quick and professional work and are transparent with their timelines...something that isn’t always the case at other shops.

I went there for a State Inspection. They were friendly & I was out in about 30 minutes.

My only complaint is that masks weren’t taken seriously. Nice staff.

Poor customer service. They called me to give me a price and agreed to call me back to tell me if it could go lower. Didnt hear back from them until I called to follow up. They told me no change in the price. They had my car all day and nothing was done. If I wouldve gotten the call earlier, I wouldve picked up my car and do the things I needed to do but didnt because I didnt have my car. It was the first time I visited this place that was recommended to me and Im not using it ever again neither I would recommend it to anyone.

I called and asked them how long a oil change would take, they told me 45 minutes and it took 48 minutes. The guy who got there after me came in and asked how long it would take and they said 1:15 minutes because there was one person ahead of him. My point being they are honest. They did my oil change, ran their 30 point inspection and told me nothing else on my car needed work, I had just purchased the car used and had a family mechanic check that there was nothing wrong (honest again). At the end of the day when it comes to car repairs and oil changes you need to trust the person working on your car, today they earned my trust.

The staff was pleasant to work with, yet pricing was extremely high... even with my so called AAA discount. Yet after some back and forth we worked out an acceptable price at almost half the original quoted price. I havent had the opportunity to drive it but a few miles since, yet everything seems to be operating properly. Last week I had City Garage change a starter and oil pan gasket in my 11 year old Wrangler. It was less than 24 hrs from the time they towed it to calling me to pick it up. Being broke down on the road is always unfun. As soon as I called them my day got better. Theyre great to work with. Friendly, professional, and knowledgable is how Id describe them.

We’ve been using CG over a decade now and I trust them implicitly. As a woman I don’t often feel like I am getting the straightest shooting from these kind of places but I’ve always found CG to be honest and back up their work if something does go wrong. They keep better track of what’s going on with my vehicles than I do. I had a flat tire right in front of their store, and it turned out that the place that had originally replaced it had failed to return my spare. Now they dont stock tires here, but the technician looked for a used tire to get me to work today, and put it on for me. They were very courteous and generous. CG mechanics have always done great work on my vehicles. Never had an issue after a repair. Ive been here several times over the years to have them work on my Lincoln and my Supra. Many seem to question the honesty of mechanics. This shop was absolutely honest with me about what was wrong with my 2015 Suburban. It was a problem they had seen with this air conditioning system many times. They even told me that many condensers are the original design and that a new, improved design was available, but harder to get. On my dads Lexus, they ultimately told me that the air conditioning system was shot. That was verified by another mechanic. All in all, I have found them to be honest, fair and reasonably priced and therefore, they continue to be successful. Imagine that. Besides that, you actually have a brief session with the mechanic during an after the work is completed, which leaves you feeling good about their work.

If you’re worried about something and they investigate the issue you can depend on them being truthful and honest and only recommend repairs that absolutely necessary. They did an oil change and inspection for my husbands car. The staff seemed polite and efficient. They explained what needed to be corrected in order to pass inspection then they made necessary repairs.

I have been a loyal customer for years but it is changed since we lost Graham. No longer feel comfortable with knowledge and attitude. I had work done and they did not re set the Lexus system so U have been back 3 times once because windows did not work twice about air not running cold enough. I was told to come back yesterday at 3 and clearly I was not on schedule and was told I had to leave it. Looking for a new garage?? Meanwhile back to Lexus

They did a great job! Fast service and a fair price. I had an alternator melt on me including the wire harness. Went to the shop in the morning and got my car back in the afternoon with a very reasonable price for the service. Guy working in the front is friendly and helpful.

I have been taking my sons car to City Garage since I bought it second-hand in 2013. From my first visit until now, I have been extremely satisfiedwith their service and professionalism. My main contact Graham is honest and upfront, and has been very helpful with his suggestions on what type of service is needed ASAP versus the ones that can wait. I have felt comfortable talking to him (and Francisco) and never felt services were being pushed on me. I highly recommend this place, and in fact, plan to get my wifes and my cars serviced here as well.

We had to keep reaching out to them for answers. So disappointing because we always could reli on fast, dependable service. Will not return now. No trust!

This was the nearest AAA approved auto repair facility. Also the previous owner of my car had used them and given me the receipts for the work they had done on this car. So when I told them what was wrong with my vehicle and also what needed to be fixed- the fuel pump, I figured the car was in capable hands. After all, it takes a novice just five minutes after a quick Google search of symptoms of a failing fuel pump to arrive at this conclusion. But it took them five days, for which they wanted to charge me more than double the diagnosis fee because they couldnt figure out what was wrong with the car. They also recommended the replacement of a part that wasnt necessary to this repair. Finally they charged me well over the going rate for a fuel pump replacement according to another Google search. And they offset my AAA discount by charging me a random $50 miscellaneous fee. Needless to say I will not be back.

Tory and Darryl at the City Garage on Independence in Plano literally saved me thousands of dollars. My BMW roadster was showing a Check Engine light and the error code indicated that it was a bad sensor. I ordered and installed an after-market sensor (trying to save a few $) and the light came back on after a few days. I took the car to a different shop (not City Garage) and they recommended repairing/replacing the variable valve timing unit to the tune of $3,000+. I decided to get a second opinion and stopped into City Garage on Independence and Spring Creek in Plano. Darryl hooked my car to his computer and said that based upon his assessment the variable timing unit was working just fine and that it must be the sensor. He recommended I purchase and install an actual BMW sensor. I did and it solved my problem for $150 instead of $3,000+. Further, Tory and Darryl didnt even charge me for the analysis and advice! It is hard to express how satisfied i am with this shop and how strongly I now recommend them to anyone needing automobile service. They clearly take the long view and are interested in earning and keeping loyal customers. I know Im one!

This was my first visit to City Garage. I needed my 30,000 mile maintenance performed as well as a State Inspection. After calling the dealer and receiving ridiculous pricing, I was pleasantly pleased with the quote Graham gave me at City Garage. They had my car done quickly and the charge was even less than quoted. I also appreciated not getting that call that there was something else I needed or should fix on the car.Great, friendly service. Clean shop. Will definitely be going back again.

I usually take my car to my dads Goodyear shop for service but when goodyear service turned over to Just Tires I was forced to find a repair shop that i could trust but also not lose my whole paycheck behind repairs.I started researching various places and saw consistent good reviews about City Garage so i decided to give them a try. I bought my Lexus GS in for an oil leak and from the very start the guys were honest and charged me literally 3x less than what the Dealership wanted for valve cover gasket.I dropped the car off and it was fixed the same day but the part that really stood out to me as the service writer stayed an hour after close to let me pick up my car. That really meant a lot so Needless to say I have found someone I will always use for my car repairs.

The City Garages in North Dallas for the most part has always been reliable. But this place has by far been my best experience. Up front Graham was welcoming and interactive and in the shop Arnold was helpful in suggesting some much needed filter changes. Definitely worth the extra drive.

Weve been coming to City Garage for years with our vehicles, and they have never steered us wrong. They are interested in building relationships with vehicle owners, not just rolling them on one-time expenses and unnecessary repairs. They will do what needs to be done, and no more, even when doing dealer recommended services. If you dont need it, theyre not going to charge you for it, though theyre happy to do the full service if youd like. Patrick and Graham have been great to us for years, and well keep coming back!

I have used this City Garage a number of times over the past 15 years. I keep coming back. The service is second to none. The dollar savings is great - far below the auto dealers. Quality of work, cordial personnel are great. Would without reservation recommend this business to anyone needing and wanting excellent auto service.

At first I was a little dissapointed but the staff and management stepped up and really went above and beyond (even to providing a ride home when we knew it would take a little while to do the work). Very nice and happy I came back to give them another try.

In for an oil change but previous day I had stopped in search of air for my tires and they were only too willing to accommodate me. Decided to go back for an oil change the next day. They were great and I’d go back again for a repair!

Our car was leaking oil so we were kind of desparate. We were told at first oil change would be 75 which is higher than I have ever paid and that the manager we talked to on the phone was unavailable. Then the manager popped up and gave us a lower price that the first guy did not offer or tell us was availible when we asked him why the price was so high.

Didn’t have an appointment but they got me right in and had my inspection done promptly. Then when I added a request for an oil change, despite having 3 vehicles in front of me, what I thought was going to be an hour and a half wait turned into just an additional 15 minutes. Awesome place!

They have always provided wonderful service at fair prices, always doing extra touches on our vehicles that make us feel well cared for! I have now begun taking my 2 newer vehicles still under factory warranty to them because I MUCH prefer their service and trust them to do the job right the 1st time. They seem to like to charge $1000 for anything. I went to brakes plus and paid half the price. Also took my wifes car there first and they quoted a lil more than $1000 for what we needed.
