We have had a an amazing experience with Dr. Parvin and Julia, my son is doing well in his care. I like the fact that he helps as we are in our session with behavioral issues as they happen, giving advice on how to deal with different situations in different ways. These changes that he is helping to implement or amazing and are making a big change in my son.I love the fact that he explains the medication and how it works so that we know how it will effect my son and help him.I also have started to see Dr. Parvin and Julia, they are helping me to see the positive that I am doing in my house and with my kids.I would and have recommended this practice to others, if you need help they will help you. One thing I love is that time is not thought about if we go over time it is not worried about.
PLEASE read all reviews before attending. Dr. Parvin himself isn’t that bad but billing and his Assistant are less than desirable. I WOULD NOT recommend anyone to this office.
This place has helped me out in time of need. Whenever I need a medication refill I get extremely fast turnaround time of next day or even same day. The staff here will go out of their way to help out if there are any problems.Dr. Parvin takes his time to understand your situation, his focus is solely on you, and he will ask the right questions when he would need more information from you. It’s nice to have that full attention, which shows how dedicated he is to his field of work, and how dedicated he is to helping people out.
Excellent facility, very professional support staff, and overall amazing experience.Amy & Nicole at the administrative office are warm, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Amy continued to check-in during my visit to see if I needed anything and provided updates. Nicole was seamless at check-out and made sure I aware of next steps and follow-up appointments.Dr. Parvin is one of the most intelligent doctors I’ve met. He spent 2+ hours with me at my initial appointment. Dr. Parvin is genuine with his communication and authentically listens when I was speaking.Overall: Great experience. I personally recommend Dr. Parvin and the Family Behavioral Health Team. The GeneSight Test is a must!
Please beware of this company!! I don’t leave reviews but find it’s necessary. They do bad business. For one, the doctor is pushy, like a salesman. This is why I decided not to see Dr. Parvin. For two, they collected my co-pay of $200 for a consult. I have good insurance and never heard of this. They said they would pay me back when insurance paid them. It’s been since September when my insurance paid them and it’s December. Every time I call to see where my money is, they say they will get back to me and never do. I even gave someone my credit card info and they still haven’t put the money back after weeks. Every time I call I get a new person that doesn’t know what they are doing. Just a shady business. I can’t believe they are treating people with mental illness’s like this. I don’t know how they are in business.
Absolutely awful. Prescribed drugs our pharmacist refused to fill because they were not appropriate for a five year old, all meetings were over 3 hours long with no actual help being given, and the doctor is arrogant and off putting. Money hungry and Narsacisitic. Do your research and find a better facility that will help your child.
This Doctor has a unique and effective treatment approach. It works for me. Compared to other experiences I have had, Dr. Parvin is the best. I learned something the first visit. I got some great advice and some new ways of looking at life. Dr. Parvin showed me a passion for his work that made me feel like he really cares about helping me. And his staff is very patient and helpful. Thank you all.
Please do your research when this man tries to prescribe your child psychotropic drugs. He will order every lab under the sun and doesn’t have the knowledge interpret them. The staff is constantly changing probably because he is so difficult to work with. Huge waste of money and everyone’s time.
I was a patient here a few years ago. Dr. Parvin is kind of insane. He knew I was there for medication but kept pitching other things to me and my mom like gingko supplements and stuff, which was not even remotely helpful. He created problems that didnt really exist and ignored some problems we brought up. I brought up an interest in engineering and Dr Parvin made me watch like a 10 minute video of drones flying around for some reason. I was prescribed a drug without any prior testing done to see if I actually had ADHD, and the medication was completely not suited for me and gave me minor suicidal thoughts. When these thoughts were brought up in therapy, I was given the option of either meeting with Dr Parvin and my therapist several times per week starting the next day, or going to a hospital immediately to get evaluated. Mind, I was absolutely not going to kill myself, I was getting occasional thoughts about how being alive sucked, but those thoughts were immediately shut down in my head because I definitely dont want to die. NMy parents scheduled an appointment for me with a therapist at a different practice for the next day to get a second opinion. She was lovely, I immediately was more comfortable with her than I ever was at FBH. She addressed all my concerns. I was taken off my medication and I was scheduled to start ADHD testing that week. We called FBH to cancel our appointment for later that day as our needs had been met, and FBH retaliated by dropping me as a patient, which was truly a blessing in disguise. No more Doctor Crazy Man, as my mom and I called him.
An absolutely awful place. the wait for appointments is horribly long. the doctor himself is extremely intimidating and makes the the patients feel like theyve done something wrong. I cant even begin to explain some of the stuff thats taken place during appointments. all they care about is money. if youre considering going here yourself or taking your child here, please consider going somewhere else.
We saw Dr. Parvin and a therapist for several months and it seemed to work well for my son despite the fact that I personally found Parvin arrogant and obnoxious. Most of the credit for my sons growth would actually go to Jennifer, the counselor. A lot of sessions with Dr. Parvin were spent with him going off on unnecessary tangents or talking about himself rather than focusing on what my son needed. Still we continued going while hoping that my son would benefit long term. Until the day he sprung my sons diagnosis on us without any warning or prior conversation -- in the middle of a therapy session --- and seemingly to get a reaction out of my son. The diagnosis was a shock to us all and when I called the next day and asked (the therapist) to meet with him to learn more about it, he REFUSED and had her tell me that he had already spent enough time with us and that if I didnt like his diagnosis that I could wait six weeks for our next appointment to talk to him. While I furiously took some time to think about how to handle this, the therapist called me again and said we were being discharged! I NEVER even heard from him personally! This man is an arrogant ego maniac and UNBELIEVABLY UNPROFESSIONAL.
We have only had a few apts for our daughter but she really loves going and feels so comfortable
This place is truly passionate about helping people and it shows. dr. Parvin and my therapist ms jennifer take a lot of time to help me and my family. Im loyal to this place till the end! sometimes front staff changes due to their work shifts or whatever but i stick with the same people or manager there who knows my family and that helps.
Parents please listen to your children on what they say about the dr. Because he is money hungry and genuinely does not care about your situation, just perscribing you medication and telling you whats wrong with you so you take his medication that isnt actually needed. Parents please beware with this man!
Excellent doctor, with an exceptional staff! Very professional business practice. (not sure why there is a guy in another review complaining about the Genesite genetic testing). My daughter and I both had the genetic testing done. It only took a mouth swab in the office to have the test done. There are multiple pathways A medication can take through your body to be metabolized, and each medication has a certain pathway it travels to be metabolized. Some people metabolize very poorly through certain pathways and perfectly fine through others. In rare cases there are individuals that metabolize ultra rapidly through 1 of those pathways, and if thats the case, (any medication that travels that pathway would be like taking a megadose of that drug. (For example): if a child was an ultra rapid metabolizer of opioids, the first time the child was prescribed to any form of it (even Tylenol 3) the child would be dead after the first dose. (Its rare but it happens) When the results come back it lists all the types of medications and explains exactly how that person metabolizes them! This eliminates the trial and error way of prescribing medications and gives the patient a huge jumpstart on treatment. Dr. Parvin does not make any money on this testing whatsoever, charges for the testing come from the genetics company. Dr. Parvin uses this testing for patient safety and speedy recovery (not for money). Ive been a patient of his for 2 years and had nothing but good experiences. I hope this review was helpful!
Dont know where to start. Had a seven year old in the office for over two hours and never saw him. We were grueled by his therapist which we found out is actually just a counselor. Made my son feel like he did something bad. They will not take you on as a patient if you do not do his money making scam of a gene test that no insurance will pay for. They dont pay for it because it is an unproven scam for him to get even more money out of you. Look that test up online and you will see it is totally unproven test. So if you wont do it he wont take you. We asked before we went and they said oh no you dont have to do that test its just something we like to do so we can scam a little more money out of your son. My son was telling his counselor he wanted to hurt himself and she didnt care about that just that we would drop the cash for the gene test and he said we should go back to our previous Doctor that wasnt helping our son. Why do you think we went to him. No compassion just worried about money. Told to leave after over two hours of questions. Over half an hour was trying to talk me into having that test done. Even made me watch his advertisement movie. All the time online for paperwork and then more once we got there. All could have been avoided if he told us up front but that would be illegal so he cant but he does. POS! Lets my son walk out of there knowing our predicament and his precarious situation. Does that sound like a caring man? I think not. I just cant believe it.Update per their rebuttal:Their reply looks very much like a copy and pasted stock reply. I think that should worry people as that would indicate they have this happen a lot. They state they are a greatly caring people then one would ask why would they let us walk out of their office knowing the things my son was saying? I was told directly if I didnt allow the test that they wouldnt accept my son as a patient. Really? So they either do not trust their supposed education or experience in diagnosing, which is scary, or they just want the money. In their rebuttal they state 20 dollars. I assure you that was not the cost . At the same time they are mentioning a payment plan. So which is it? They talk about not being able to talk about the the situation because of HIPA but we were never patients because we were not accepted due to our not wanting to having a test done and then preconcieved notions accepted as truths from a test, at that point in time unproven. Just say up front that you require this test and all would have been different. Do not subject us to a two hour sales pitch when my son is in crisis. The Doctor never graced us with his presence in the two hours while the couselor grilled us with her upsale pitch. Couselor is being generous I think salesperson is more precise. Go if you like but be forwarned it wont be a situation where you go in and actually talk to the person who will be treating your child. In my eyes it is more us trying to see if the Doctor is a good fit for our child, not the other way around!
We recently moved from the Atlanta to the Chicago area. Our son needs and takes several medications for a couple of development issues. The first visit was way too long...4.5 hours (we were told it would take 2.5). The psychiatrist Dr. Parvin assumed our prior practitioners were wrong or harmful and attempted to force unnecessary therapy on our son. He would not prescribe any medication without genetic testing (which isn’t covered by insurance). He was also extremely condescending. The experience was all around a truly terrible one. Avoid this practice!
If you need a regimented environment this is not the place for you. They constantly run an hour plus late for appointments. They will call you at the last minute and cancel your appointment. This place has almost cost me my job just to see them because they had to get me scheduled at a certain time then cancel about 45 minutes before my appointment.
I spoke to multiple representatives from this facility trying to get an appointment for a family member suffering from extreme anxiety and depression. The staff was terrible to work with, completely unhelpful, and showed no compassion for the situation. If youre looking for help, this is not the place to turn.
