What a great place to learn Brazilian Ju Jitsu! The owner has A tremendous amount of experience and is great with beginners. All the students Ive met are extremely humble and glad to be there. If youre looking for a place to start learning about BJJ this would be a fantastic place to start. Happy rolling!
This is an awesome place to train Nick and the assistant instructors here are all very knowledgeable and friendly I’ve been training here a little over a year and I would highly recommend Pollaro’s to any one thinking about trying martial arts
My son had his first lesson. We were very impressed with the level of professionalism! The owner took my son under his wing and made us all feel very welcome!
Simply put: one of the best schools for BJJ. Highly recommended. Nick, the instructor, is remarkable; all students are willing to learn and teach... just a wonderful place.
Nick and his instructors are top-notch, experienced, and very professional. As someone who is getting back into MA after a long hiatus, I appreciate their patience and approach to helping me progress.
Very knowledgeable instructors. Adult and children classes. Everyone is personable and friendly, great learning environment for adults and kids alike.
At the start of 2019 I decided to get back into some sort competitive physical activity as an exercise and a stress reliever. Through a series of events I ended up at Pollaros and havent looked back. The patience and guidance from the instructors is top notch. The school family is extremely supportive and the environment is one in which the only person you are competing against is yourself. The only reason Im giving this place five stars is because Google wont allow me to give it six..
Coach Nick is helpful every step of the way.
Love this place! I’ve been attending the school for a few years and Nick is the greatest teacher. He’s stern, respectful, and patient which is very important in the art of Jiu-Jitsue. The teachers all acknowledge that everyone is at a different level of experience and are eager to assist when needed. Great skills and a great workout!
Awesome instructor! Top quality BJJ and JKD classes with experienced and knowledgeable instructors. Super friendly atmosphere where you feel right at home from the start. Nick is one of the best and really cares about his students! Great place for the whole family!
A great place for both me and my daughter. Nick is a terrific instustor who really cares about his students and is passionate about martial arts.
2 years and Pollaros has been nothing but incredible. Great place to train. Great people.
Nick Pollaro is an amazing individual and instructor! Very welcoming and his school feels like you’ve been a part of it for years, though it may be your first day! His kids class is an absolute joy to watch, the kids have a blast!
I have been training at Pollaros Martial Arts since 2011. My training has been on and off due to family, career, and education. Nick Pollaro has always been able to meet me at my level and help me to continue the journey and life of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, no matter how long it has been. This is a very welcoming academy with very knowledgeable instructors for all ages.
Did not leave my first workout without signing up. Everyone was super welcoming and I learned a lot in only two hours, looking forward to my next workout.

I walked into Pollaros a skinny nonathletic awkward shy 135 lb 18 year old. I walked out 3 years later like a man, with friendships, a priceless tool to reduce stress and overall more confidence in every aspect of my life, this gym is for you.
Been going here for years. Nick is very knowledgeable. Best martial arts instructor in Indy!
Wonderful school and instructor for jiu jitsu!
Personally been training here for almost 6 years. Couldn’t think of a better environment to learn in.

I started taking Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Jeet Kune Do at Nicks school about a year ago, and Ive loved every minute of it. In addition to being a great instructor, Nick is a very nice guy and takes the time to get to know each of his students on a personal level. One of the things that impresses me most about Nick is that he is able to quickly recognize any difficulties that individual students are having learning a move, and show them how to overcome the problem. Nick freely admits that not every move will work the same for everyone, since everyone has different body types, levels of strength, and flexibility. When a particular move is difficult for smaller or less flexible people to do, Nick often shows alternatives for those students. Being a small guy myself, I appreciate how Nick adapts moves to suit my size. One of my biggest concerns with doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was getting hurt since I barely weigh 115 lbs. However, everyone in Nicks school is very good about not going too hard on students who are new or smaller. There are no egos here, and no one is trying to prove that they are the toughest guy. I regularly roll (spar) with students who are 50-100 lbs. heavier than me and I have never gotten any injury worse than a little bruise or scrape. Nick himself is also very conscientious about gradually easing new students into rolling and to remind the bigger students to be careful with the smaller students so that no one gets hurt.
