From the entrance, you can perceive the aroma of fresh food. The staff are always friendly and they always have variety of food. Environment is very clean and welcoming. The food is greatly prepared. I love the chicken bourbon, very delicious and taste fresh. I will recommend this place

I really didnt enjoy my experience at this particular restaurant. They served old, dried out, disgusting food. The manager acts as if they wasnt oblivious, just didnt care. Golden Corral needs to take another look at their management team. I guess when providing a buffet for people to indulge in without a limit, creates an overwhelming sense urgency that compromises the Integrity of the food. This is not a good way to run a business. Please pick your pride back up leave your laziness at the door.Look at my pictures of burned, dry, and thrown together food.

Wow!We usually go to Ponderosa, but we decided to go to The Golden Coral instead.Finding one is a little bit of work. You have some that are not the most appealing ones to go to, we went to the one in Plainfield.Staff was above usual rate, the food was HOT, And the variety was mind blowing, they have almost anything a person would want. Price wasnt to bad, the extra time it took to get there was way worth it. I dont think we can ever go back to Ponderosa again! Sorry Ponderosa no bad feeling about you, .. But they have the same old stuff,, if you havent been to the Golden Coral...I recommend you try it..Go out to Plainfield..

So for an all you can eat buffet this one offers really good food for the money you are going to spend. Its one of the cleanest buffets and has a great selection. I just dont like how the servers keep coming around to get plates and refills I mean Im paying such a hi price for me to go pick out my food I will get my own drinks and want to be left to do so....I pay dining prices at nice dining restaurants when I want to be served to . At a buffet I want to be left alone to get what I want and not be bothered or feel rushed to finish something. If I want to leave a bite of something a d get something else to go with it I dont want someone coming and taking my plate away while I get up to go back for more. I want to be left alone til I am fully done

I have been to Golden Corral several times. The Plainfield, IN Golden Corral seemed to be under new management. The reason I am alluding to this, is that the food was far better then when Ive gone there in the past. The restaurant was also much cleaner as well. In my opinion, this is the best Golden Corral Ive ever gone to. So, yes, I highly recommend it!

Too much$ for not enough selection. Popcorn shrimp versus plump yummy shrimp. Not impressed with the selection of food offered for dinner. I paid $36/2 for beans, cornbread, sirloin steak that looked like chopped hamburger. Instead of a juicy mouth watering steak. I understand $ is tight & youre trying to cut costs however I was sadly disappointed with the food selection. Our waitress was the BEST part of our visit. She was bubbly, friendly,, and never let our drinks sit empty. Thank you Betty

Nice staff, tidy buffet with lots of options for different appetites (which is very important when youre feeding three kids)! My ONLY complaint is that the bathroom ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS stinks😆😆😆!Corporate needs to invest in several bottles of V. I. POO for the bathrooms! Otherwise, its good buffet food, and their Pot Roast is better than mine...

Not worth the price! A dinner buffet costs $13.99+drinks. With tax included, it costs 3 of us $51. And one of our drinks was water. There wasnt a lot of choices for hot foods. The dessert bar seemed to have more than it. The biscuits were super hard. Only positive was the mashed potatoes.

Great place if you are a vegetable lover. More variety of cooked veggies than anywhere else. And the variety of protein and desserts is just right. Simple delicious everyday meal.

Edit 22 may 2019:I followed their request to contact their customer service the same day about my review and they never contacted me back. My guess is they want the appearance they care.The building (roof) is in desperate need of repairs. It was lightly raining during our visit and they actually had to block a large section because water dripped onto customers and their food. Our waitress was amazing, very kind and attentive. Well, there seemed to be some confusion and our original waitress was moved to a different section and only checked on us once, but the woman in our section really stepped up. I only wish I could remember her name! Food was good.My one worry is that based on the shape of the roof there is very likely rot and mold in their ceiling which makes me worried if that could somehow affect the food. The staff was disgusted and appalled that management is not interested in fixing the roof at the time (we asked).

We are visiting from out of town. The manager let me use my discount for a childs price because I had gastric sleeve surgery and had my card with me. He was super friendly and I appreciate it. Subpar service for a not busy lunch rush. Most of the food tasted horrible. Pot roast no flavor. Meatloaf tasted burnt. Fried chicken was SUPER dry. Only thing saving them from one star was the Fried Fish and the Carrot cake. Both were amazing. Not worth the $25 for 2 people at lunch.

Excellent food, friendly service. Just doesnt get much better. Prime rib was fork tender, bourbon beef was quite tasty, rolls with honey butter, corn, fried chicken, mushrooms, and everything else was great. Waitress was very attentive and quite kind. Overall outstanding.

Worth the wait in line! Plan on waiting 30 to 45 minutes to get a table. We went for brunch and were able to take advantage of the unlimited Mimosas and Bloody Marys. There was a wide variety of food as well as desserts. All of which were delicious

Wonderful selection of freshly made healthy and not so healthy (but all delicious!) foods on their breakfast buffett. You can have them make an omelette with all the meat and vegetables and cheese, or you can pile scrambled eggs on everything from sausage, ham, porksteak, and bacon, to spinach, green peppers, onion, mushrooms, tomatoes, etc.Plus hash browns and grits, both with or without cheese, and a wide selection of fruit, although the peaches and pears are from a can, they are in fruit juice not syrup and taste good. The also have their whole dessert bar up for breakfast if you are so inclined.

Very good food. I would of given more stars but the peel and eat shrimp was never refilled.There were several of us, different people from different groups, waiting for her to refill it. She saw us went back to the kitchen. We waited thinking she saw the bowl was empty and was going to refill it.Nope she came out, saw us immediately turned around went back into the kitchen never to return

We go here once in awhile. Its always pretty clean considering how busy they are. The hot food is hot and the cold food cold like it should be. They keep everything full. Their deserts are decent and the ice cream is actually frozen. The salad bar is very nice with a wide selection. You can make yourself a nice spinach salad, yum. Im giving 4 stars because the building is a little run down.

Food was really good. They had plenty to choose from too. The servers were really nice and helpful.My only complaint is the way the dining area is set up. Too much dead apace which forces the groups of people to sit within really close proximity to each other.

The employees could use refresher courses on friendly customer service and food safety. Golden Corral could also use some much-needed help in the food quality department as well. When I walked in, I requested a cup of coffee for my beverage. When I went to the cashier to pay, I noticed that I was paying more than typical for a cup of coffee -- I was being charged for a soft drink instead of coffee. I asked why I was being charged for a soft drink when I requested coffee, she rudely stated that its just what they do. When I declined the coffee and asked for water, she snatched the mug out of my hand and stated, fine, get your coffee somewhere else. I should have left then just for that alone, but since I was not familiar with the area, I didnt want to go driving around town for a place to eat. My visit here didnt get any better after walking through the doors. The food was low-quality, even for buffet standards. Dry with no flavor. Also witnessed a young child -- who was counter-height -- sneezing in the direction of the food, with an employee standing there in plain view. That employee did not dispose of that food, which is a major health issue and which is required by health codes. I looked at him as if to say, arent you gonna throw that away? but he didnt get it or didnt care. The other issue is that I was constantly asked by waitstaff if I wanted a refill on my water -- seemingly every five minutes, despite saying no thanks -- which was off-putting. Ive never been to a Golden Corral before until my visit to this location, and because I am not sure if other Golden Corral locations conduct their operations in a similar manner as their Plainfield location, Im not sure if I would give any Golden Corral location another try. My first visit to Golden Corral was my last.

These folks outdid themselves. We went for a Veterans Day meal. It was delicious. I loved every part of my meal. The folks are genuinely nice as well. You know they took a big hit financially to have a day like this, but they treated us like we paid big dollars. I am thankful. I have been here before. I have been happy with my food and service each time.

My server was good, but thats about it. i spent $25 for the BREAKFAST buffet for two people... id understand $25 for the dinner buffet, but not for breakfast. the food was mediocre at best. the chicken noodle soup was warm, not hot. the biscuits were so dry that i could barely swallow it. the gravy was cold and gross. the other servers were rude and obnoxious. there were only two cereal options. not worth the hype. i could eat more at mcdonalds for half the price.

Traveling all the way from Toronto, this dinner buffet was great bang for your buck. $13.99 for adults and $5.99 for kids. The grill station chef cooked our steaks perfectly, she actually knew the precise difference between medium rare, medium and medium well. She executed flawlessly on multiple steaks.The buffet wasnt busy, and they had a chocolate fondue fountain and cotton candy machine. For entrees they had steak, pulled pork, fried chicken, bbq chicken, corn, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, mac and cheese and so much more. Will definitely be back.

Golden Corral, a magical place where just a few dollars can get you absolutely anything you want to eat. From steak made the way you want it to any kind of salad or dessert of your liking. This was my first time visiting this place and it brought back memories of the Ponderosa I used to visit when I was a kid. Long story short this place is awesome and recommend it to everyone, especially if you cant make up your mind. The staff is friendly and the waiters and waitress are very good at what they do. Where else can you find a breakfast buffet anymore? Food was good, some of the stuff had been sitting on the steam table too long. The waffles could have been taken to the parking lot and used to play hockey. The scrambled eggs had been a bit overcooked, and some other things just needed stirred and rotated more. The server had 0 personality. She would refill a drink but thats about it. Still definitely worth the money.

I found an entire sugar packet in my mashed potatoes that I got from the buffet line. When I brought it to their attention, they stated that they wouldnt do anything if I continued to eat. After we asked to speak to someone else, a manager came over with an attitude stating just refund the meal . I havent experienced such poor service in a very long time.I could not eat anymore after I saw that and I declined getting any sort of refund after they showed such poor service.I will never return to this place again.

Food great. No mess to clean up. No cooking for me. I got to sit enjoy the holidays. I think this is way to do holidays. I will say this a couple of recipes do need a little twicking but was still good. Even though they say the restroom is handicapped, they need to be redone. The door is way to heavy for someone in wheelchair. Restroom still door cant close with wheelchair in there so little to no privacy. Contact me I will show you a few other small things to fix before next holiday. Thankfully I am only in wheelchair temporarily.

I think it is ridiculous that they dont have somebody at the end of the pay line to tell you which way to go so you can be seated easier it seems like they just want to keep filing people in the door whether theres a place to sit or not. Had to wait a good 15 minutes for the kitchen to clean more silverware.

I am not usually inspired to write a review on restaurants. However, the food at Golden Corral was not just bad, but concerning. I began with a salad and grilled chicken, and found the chicken was starting to turn. I spent the rest of the meal trying to determine what was safe to eat. Everything I tried was either overdone, cold, or both. It was our daughters birthday and I am thankful at least for the kind waitress that tried to make her feel special. Unfortunately that does not make up for the rest of the bad experience.

Very clean restaurant. The table staff is very helpful and courteous. Although the manager and the front line assistant were staying on top of restocking the hot food bar, attention needs to be given to guests needing items cut such as ham and sausage on the lunch offering.

It was Thanksgiving, for was Fresh & delicious. All staff I interacted with were Smiling, Friendly and Helpful. The Staff taking care of our table side were Upbeat and efficiently brought drinks, refills with a Smile of Thanksgiving

Our waitress took great care of us. There were several food items that were decent but several items that were so-so at best. The chocolate chip cookies and soft serve ice cream were really good.

Terrible buffet service and no real quality food items. No one was ever around to serve the mediocre steak that had been cooked 20 minutes ago and just sat to the side. The bone dry rotisserie chicken tasted like it was marinated with spaghetti sauce. All the sides seemed like they were pre-prepared, fried, or came out of a can. The jelly beans in the dessert isle were old enough that they stuck together in one mass. Oreo cookie bit toppings for icecream was gone. No one was working the hard serve ice cream. Bathrooms were broken, dirty, and awkwardly laid out. Whole restaurant reflects poor management. I can eat at Texas Roadhouse for the same price and get better quality and service.

I thought the food was very average on the dry side. The one in Greenwood had a lot better food apparently better Cooks but we live in Plainfield so we tried it we probably wont go back. The people were not as friendly as Greenwood either

Smallest buffet Ive seen in any Golden Corral. Food was decent. Service was good. This one is about $3 more in price than most. Most Golden Corrals have a military discount. This one does not. Dont worry, seniors. They do have a discount. 😁

We prefer this location instead of the one on 38th Street in Indianapolis (which is closest to us). This location is a little higher priced but the quality of the food is an extreme improvement from the other location mentioned.Another thing that makes it better is the cleanliness! The bathrooms were clean, the plates and silverware were clean and when you walked in there was no unpleasant odor.Sure the buffet is a little smaller but the food and service are phenomenal.

Were leaving there right now. My father just saw one of the workers plunging the toilet, NOT wash his hands and then went right back into the kitchen. Plus the restrooms are disgusting. We will definitely NOT be back.

Went on Mothers Day, expecting a crowd because of the holiday. Place was crowded, food was good, but it was hotter inside them it was outside. Couldnt even really enjoy the meal, because if the heat. The food was pretty good. Only real complaint I have is I did not see a waitress the whole time I was there and also I paid with a card and was charged 15 percent more then what the receipt said. My guess was it is for a tip as the manager acted like he had no clue what it was about.

They started taking down the buffet 2 hours before closing as well as multiple servers and staff approached us to see if we were finished when we literally just got our first plate. There were staff members getting food and eating next to us instead of their job and left a pitcher of soda with no ice on our table because they where to busy gossiping and eating. So not a great experience at all.

What else can you say about an All you can Eat buffet. Absolutely love all the different selection at this place and with the food being HotNFresh as possible you just cant lose . Take your whole family and enjoy

Really upset, no sign on door informing guest it was 80 plus degrees in the building. My son has very high blood pressure we try to regulate with meds. I took him for a special treat which I CANNOT afford all the time . He sat there in his pool of sweat trying to enjoy his dinner as did I and my older son. Almost impossible. So uncomfortable.. I asked our nice server what was going on, she said yes the AC been down 2 days. Poor thing. Waiting tables is hot enough let alone no air and all the cooking equipment behind the glass. I really feel for the whole crew..And guest should be informed BEFORE paying . I did speak the manager about it on our way out and he confirmed what the server said as he apologized he offered us free meals to come back. Although thats not was I was after it was a generous gesture. For sure when the air is fixed.

Where do I begin our waiter Kim was fantastic they were out of brisket and she went and told the manager and her manager brought some out I thought that was very kind of Kim and her manager. The customer service here was great I will definitely be returning soon .

I usually go to the Golden Corral in Greenwood off of 135 since we live by Camp Atterbury. We wont be going there anymore because this Golden Corral in Plainfield was so clean and welcoming and the food was so good and a lot fresher and we went at 3 in the afternoon so they wasnt busy. The trip will be longer for us but worth it!

Pretty sure our whole family picked up the flu the day we went. But I guess thats a risk when you go to a buffet. Food was decent but after seeing it the second time around a few hours later Im pretty sure we wont be going back.

Found two long strands of hair on my plate right after I put some fish on it. Told the manager and he simply dumped the fish, gave me a new plate, and put out a new tray of fish. No apology or anything offered for the inconvenience. The restaurant was dated and not very clean at all. Service was poor as well. Would not recommend.
