I feel wronged. I had a phone interview with Karen the week of May July 15 (tax day was extended due to Covid 19) which couldnt have lasted more than 20 minutes and asked Karen to find an extension. I drove my previous returns to her from Jackson to Placerville. I didnt hear from her again though we had made plans for her to work my taxes. I didnt bother her for a few weeks because I figured she was resting up after lots of long days working in the last few weeks taxes were due. I shouldve called anyway, instead of assuming. But anyway, when I did finally call her, I left a message that I was going to be moving in three weeks and would need to pick up my previous returns. Again I got no return call. When I called again, her assistant told me Karen was out of town on vacation and wouldnt return until after my move. I was frustrated since I was moving further from Placerville.I talked to Karen on the phone today to make arrangements to get my previous tax returns back. She is charging me $250 for the 20-ish minute phone interview and any work she did to enter my info in her software. I asked how much work she did for me and she didnt quantify the amount of time. She listed some of the tasks, but I cant see how that added up to $250 worth of her time. I attempted to get more more information from her about how much tme she spent on my case, but she wouldnt elaborate. I know for a fact that she didnt tell me there would be a charge for the phone interview. The worst part was her refusal to fully explain the time she put into my case and her refusal to modify the price. The last time I paid $250 was for someone to do all the work AND file the taxes. I understand and respect Karens right to be paid for work done, but I was never told she was beginnging work on my case, nor I was I told the phone interview was a contract in her mind. This has been an education.
