So I live in and apartment complex and if your mail box is full they will take your mail and leave you a note. Since the fire they did not give notice that they will be closing at 3pm instead of 5pm. I work till 3:30pm so that doesnt help. They need to be more informative about the change of hours and they need a better way of contact information if you dont have time to go in and get your mail.
The worst.Service to the community: 0/5If it doesn’t fit in the mailbox or if it’s holiday season, you can expect to receive a dreadful pink slip of paper forcing you to meet too many fellow Placervillians at this Post Office. You’ll wait in line anywhere from 15 minutes to 45 minutes while the overworked staff search the unorganized chaos in the back. If you’re lucky, you’ll be handed your package. Otherwise, you can expect them to tell you it’s not there because 1. they lost it or 2. it’s with the mail man not being delivered yet again.Think you’ll order with Amazon Prime and get a speedy delivery? Think again. They’ve contracted deliveries to USPS in this region and, well, read above. The Store Front: 0/5Always busy. Incredibly busy. You’re lucky to not have to wait in an excruciating line. Typically, if you’re going to pickup a package that was failed to be delivered, which is too often, you’ll have to wait in line with everyone else. Yes, despite them having a door for package pickup in the lobby part. (Unless you get really lucky).Overall:Interact with this USPS office if you want to witness your taxes, and shipping fees, failing to be used efficiently or satisfactorily.
I would give 0 stars if possible. They havent delivered mail in 3 days. I paid to have a package sent via priority mail and its already a day late, they said they attempted a delivery when no one has come to the mailboxes at all. When I checked my tracking info, they said I requested to pick up my package at the post office (I didnt and I would never request to do that). They have done this multiple times. I have lived in a couple different states, and no one has ever come close to being as bad as the Placerville USPS. I dont know what theyre doing there, but its not delivering mail or packages.
My wife and I operate a small business. It is our goal to operate this business by providing 5 Star Quality Products and 5 Star Quality Customer Service. Our customer in Placerville, CA believed he did not receive his USPS Priority Mail package from us. Upon an in-depth investigation, he actually did receive that package. The in-depth investigation required Angela and Andy (two Placerville USPS PO employees) to go above and beyond in their duties. They were speedy to attack the concern and they were speedy to communicate their findings back to us. They deserve to be patted-on-the-back! We appreciate this kind of service. It reflects well upon ccwbreakaways.com and reflects well upon Placerville-USPS-PO. Thank you Angela and Andy! We appreciate your dedication.
It’s a joke we have to drive almost 30mins to the post office to pick up our packages. They state in their policy that if you live 1/2 mile from the mail box they have to drive to the home to deliver oversized (won’t fit in mail boxes) packages, you also have to have a accessible drive way and a place to turn around. Which we live less then the 1/2 mile and have proper driveway but they wouldn’t know because they mark all our packages as oversized and attempted delivery with notice (which we haven’t gotten the notice twice in three days) before they even delivered our mail. I am at home every day and not once have they actually attempted to deliver our packages to the house. I don’t get why it’s a struggle, ups and fedex deliver perfectly fine to us.
Had to wait 2 1/2 months to get a key for my residential mailbox when I moved to the area. Had to go to USPS to pick up mail every time until then. Because of covid, this meant standing in line for about half an hour each time. Once I finally got my key I still had to go back to USPS on several occasions because they wouldnt deliver my Amazon packages to my door step (right across the street from the mailbox) if the locker box was full. Bad customer service - super lazy and completely unapologetic for any inconveniences.
Most careless and unprofessional office in El Dorado county
Like many families, mine depends fully on the USPS and the Placerville branch especially for service regarding our small business and purchases regarding medications and what not. We have always been treated kindly and thoughtfully even when the customers around us can be a awful to the staff. We appreciate you and thank you for your service to the community. David and cary you are rad!
Pretty terrible place, these are probably the most incompetent people on the planet…
They never answer their phone nor do they answer their emails for a simple question. i refuse to go in there with covid cause the place is always busy with people piled on top of one another. the employees also simply dont care they just do their job as poorly as possible. ive also been over charged for mailing packages out of country...
Was mailing a first class letter for my mom to Canada and was surprised by the price. I questioned the employee and he assured me that was correct. When I got home I checked and he charged me double. No, its not going to break the bank, but its dishonest. Tried to call and of course they never answer. The 800 number is just as useless.
They always remember my name and are so quick to grab packages for me. They’ll even recognize that there was something that came in and hasn’t been sorted yet but they’ll grab it quick to save me a trip the next day!
I didn’t receive my package yet and I cannot believe that I cant solve the problem over the phone!
They lost my passport and I need to travel 😭
This is the only post office near my area open on Saturdays, so I have used it over the years on that day. The counter staff is always helpful and friendly, and the lady that helped me today was very friendly. I appreciate that effort.
I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but theyve done way too many lazy things. They have left packages:1. In a puddle of water in front of my house. I have a covered porch, but they chose to leave it in my driveway in water. (And yes the puddle was already there. I walked outside to grab the package 2 mins after it was dropped off)2. In the middle of my driveway. I almost accidentally ran it over while backing out.3. Hidden behind my address sign at the bottom of my very long driveway, near the street. I found it days later...Very disappointed.
Theyve been delivering packages to wrong street for over 2 years now. Have complained to office, online... Have gotten every excuse there is. Weve put signs on both the wrong and right address. (We found out where they keep leaving them) still nothing but blank stares all around.
They do not answer their phones pretty much ever after finally getting through I was put on hold for over 32 minutes before I gave up. I believe over the past year Ive called 15 times to the local office for things that only they can handle and Ive gotten through once after a 25 minute wait.
When your mail isnt being delivered until 9:pm I would think the postmaster would check the route balancing, because Im sure all the surrounding routes arnt also delivering that late, and maybe pick up your phone once in awhile.
Very friendly staff. Especially David. Great small town local vibe. Thank you for great service. Our mail carrier is wonderful as well.
The automated system sucks. They dont make it easy for you to talk to a representative and if you do its 25 to 30 minute wait time. You can probably get better customer service at the DMV.
Honestly the post office is a joke. I just called them to ask why I havent received any mail since I have filled out the paperwork for change of address twice, and the guy still didnt have me in the system and told me its on me since I gave it to someone else to handle instead of doing it myself. You guys are the united post office are you serious. So I havent had mail in a month and I got no help on the phone. I have to reorder everything I have been waiting on ( for the 3rd time) after going on line and paying to do it myself. Biggest joke ever.
They finally delivered a package that was handed off to them by UPS. The box was torn apart and thrown into the bushes. They have done this numerous times. I will not be ordering anything unless UPS completes the entire delivery. The carrier doesnt care if your package is left on the road to be stolen. Staff as the branch post office is exceedingly rude. Many other reviews have stated this repeatedly.
Very incompetent, rude people work here. I try sending 3 very light masks to family in Oakland, weight exactly 1.4oz. According to USPS site should only cost less than $2. A clerk tried to charge me $3.80. She had an evil look, saying you want to send it or not. Huge disappointment when USPS employees take advantage of the people when we need their service the most.
Dont bother calling, they will ignore it.Been calling since they opened this morning at 830am, been calling non stop its now 9am and no answer. Endless ringing
What do you expect besides stuck up employees who never smile, no hello, no thank you, nothing. Just a bunch of angry people who hate their life. Best part? I pay them thru taxes. I love paying for **** service. Thanks.
Met one of the most ignorant and unhappy passport processing agents I could imagine. I guess he hates his job, feels no opportunity to do important work... long hours... difficult clients... I do understand he might have among the most unsatisfying jobs on the planet... Just wish I could avoid interactions so unprofessional and aggravating. If youre renewing your passport good luck. Maybe bring the troll a cookie and hope for a better experience.
These people. Wow.... So USPS is supposed to put any packages in the designated bin at my house. 2 packages in a row were just tossed in the bushes by the main road. How stupid and lazy are these people? To top all that off, my delivery notification stated it was left by the front door or porch and signed by Mickey . There is no Mickey at this house, so i assume thats the name of the driver. Beware of your packages being tossed in bushes!!
Trash can establishment, never delivers my mail, always have to pick it up, and it’s always an unpleasant experience. I don’t review anything but these employees are the definition of dead beat garbage. Go to school kids, or end up like these rejects.
So Im guilty of not checking my mailbox as often as I should, I admit that. But weve been having some crazy rain happening and high winds lately, and while thats going on outside, Im inside bundled up. Totally unaware that my mailbox has fallen over and is no longer in service. As soon as I noticed, which was a couple days later, I got somebody out to fix the mailbox. Cool. Now, I order a lot of stuff from amazon. Packages ranging from all sizes. With everything going on lately here at my house, I went a couple days without checking my mailbox again. This time, I open it up to see 3 small amazon packages stuffed inside. Thats all that could fit. Theres also a note that says, that because my mailbox is full, the post office will be holding my mail from then on, until I get in to pick everything up.First off, I ordered PACKAGES, saying to leave them at my front door. Instead, theyre shoved carelessly into the mailbox, taking up room for ACTUAL mail. No, they never even tried leaving them at my front door, which, by the way, is what I requested. I know they didnt, because I have security cameras all over my property, and these cameras zero in on movement from a gently swaying bush. Id know if somebody was walking up to my front door to drop things off for me.My second problem, I went out to the post office, and asked them for my mail. The man there went back and returned with a couple letters and some comics Id ordered. No packages? I ask. He says he didnt see anything, but hell double check. He leaves and returns. Nothing else is here for you. (??? But. Wheres my stuff?)I go to amazon to figure it out, the items have been shipped out, but theres a problem. The carrier was not able to access the front door to deliver your package. This sometimes occurs when carriers do not have an access code for a gated community or secure building. Please contact for next steps. Its being delivered by USPS. I do not live in a gated community. Theres nothing hindering anybody, from walking up the stairs, to my front door. So, wheres my stuff?I call, yet again, oh look! They found my stuff! Its been building up, and theres a lot of stuff, because theyve been holding onto my mail and packages for nearly a week now, while I try to figure this mess out. And now, Im going to the post office, again, to pick up my things. AND then be passive aggressively scolded, about the mail pileup. Thank you. Thank you, VERY much.
By far the very worst experience I have ever had. The passport gentleman was extremely rude lazy and unwilling to process even one application. I was late for my appointment and I can respect that but I had two appointments and he refused to see my daughter and process her passport. This guy is completely lazy and ridiculous I will never be going back. A complete waste of time.
Update 2 years later: still the worst postal service imaginable. The USPS is supposed to be a standardized service. One is supposed to be able to get packages delivered to their doorstep, yet I always have to drive 25 minutes to this post office with a delivery slip to get any of them. I work from home and order materials constantly this adds so much time to my jobs. I recently had to go with a slip for a tiny box of springs. The main delivery person has one of the most drab, sluggish and unenthusiastic demeanors you could imagine, others are cool. I am so sick of having to drive to town to get mail. I feel like the service we get here is completely different than anywhere else I have lived. Weve only been here a few years and this is one of the most annoying aspects.
Every single package I need delivered never gets delivered. Every single one!!!!! Each time they use a different excuse as to why and never fix the issue even though I talk to them each time I pick up. Have to drive an hour each time to get packages too. Dont bother calling, phone is always offline. Very disappointing :(
I knew the post office might be closed when we stopped in as we passed through town. I just wanted to buy a few stamps. I was sad there was no vending machine.
Same issue as the other comment left...I had a package show up at the Placerville Post Office that was supposed to go to a different Office....the Post Master checked and checked and finally found it and is responding it to me!! Very awesome! Thank You!!
I called in today to speak with a manager because I received confidential mail yesterday that was addressed to two different neighbors. This is seriously concerning that I hold confidential mail addressed to two different neighbors on my street. Makes me wonder if my confidential mail is being delivered to my neighbors. Im sure my neighbors dont want me knowing their health results or insurance policy information. The lady on the phone gave me a lame excuse about how we had a sub delivery person yesterday who didnt sort the mail...like somehow this was normal and my problem. Her manager wouldnt even take the call. My advice to anyone with delivery issues...keep calling let it ring...I let it ring for 10 minutes but they finally picked up. Its sad that the person who picked up instantly knew I was calling about delivery issues
The people are nice and try to help you out as much as you can.
Only my regular post person is really great but the subs hardly get it right and at times forget to pickup my packages left.
Was informed a package I had been awaiting had arrived and was available for pick-up at the Placerville Post Office. Just come up to the front counter. 90+ degrees outside when I arrived at the Placerville Post Office branch in downtown Placerville. Front counter was busy when I walked in. Had my 3 dogs with me in vehicle and didnt want to leave them out in my truck in the heat for very long. Asked the person at the front counter if she could page someone to come up for pick up and drop off service. Was informed Id have to wait in line. Advised the same individual that I had my dogs with me, it was hot outside, and I didnt want to leave them in my vehicle. Her reply Thats not MY problem. Quite taken back by her lack of concern or cooperation. If memory serves, the United States Post Office is a branch of the Federal Government. The principles by which the Founding Fathers created our democracy include the concept of a government established by, and for, the people. This concept appears to have faded with time as has the concept of customer service; at least as far as the Placerville Post Office is concerned. If a rating system was offered I rate my experience as one star out of five! Very poor example of how to treat a customer or show understanding for their concerns.
Mail rarely gets delivered and the local Raleys has shut down their customer service/postal services which was the main reason my husband and I even went into Raleys in the first place. We now have to drive to El Dorado Hills and get our postal needs from Bel Air..this is sad and seriously makes us consider moving out of Placerville in the future. We shouldnt have to go to another town for decent priced groceries or postal needs.
Not a competent example of a federal agency. The teller I spoke with was short, defensive and lacked social skills. When I tried calling, x2 days, no one answered the phone, even after 20 some odd rings. Very disappointed. Who monitors the quality, or lack there of, customer service?
Very thoughtful folks at this location this morning!
I have used a po box in the same location for 6 years, there was a system and my packages were in the boxes when the tracking said they were in the boxes. The post office iv used always had the mail and packages delivered by 1030am give or take a few minutes depending on the time of year. In the last few months iv moved and am using a different post office (this one) every employee here has a terrible attitude, the mail and package tracking say they are available at my po box when they are not for another 4-5 hours. Everybody is condescending and thinks they have it figured out when really they all just appear uhappy and unwilling to go the extra step to help the customer. I mean i understand they are government employees and are better than the general public but it is unexcusable that I have used a government facility for 2-3 months almost daily and can not think of 1 good experience in any way.
Unable to talk with a human about my Sons death. Awful experience.
Absolute trash. The service is terrible and I would never go back to this specific USPS office
Poor service, rude staff.
Is this place open?
Sigh
Excellent service

Delivery driver is tear up my dirt driveway right as the rain is starting to hit I’m going to have holes this winter because he wants to drag race out of my road. This post office has become the worst I’ve ever dealt with Disgusting how they are not held accountable for this extremely bad service.
