Went for a couples massage, and my partner and I agreed that it was probably the best massage weve gotten. We had Brittany and Alonzo (I hope that was the right spelling!) and both were excellent. I only wish there were options for longer couples massages, because there wasnt quite enough time to get through a knot in my shoulder. But I will be back for another massage and Ill be checking out their other services too! Highly recommend!

Loved this place! I got the Hot Stone Massage and a Red Carpet Pedicure and it was amazing. The staff was friendly and professional without being stuffy. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming that I felt right at home. Brittany did my massage and Dom did my pedicure. I cannot recommend this place enough!

First off, this place is so cute. Myself and two friends each got an hour long massage. Jenn was super flexible with scheduling, and reached out to me right away. I had Britney, and loved her! Im still feeling great, and my massage was just a week ago. Im not a Pittsburgh resident, but will make sure to stop here every time that Im in town.

They accommodated a group of my five friends for our friends birthday. Each of us received a massage while simultaneously using the sauna. We got to bring our own mimosas which was amazing! Each masseuse was incredibly talented, professional and skilled. We will definitely be back!

If I could leave no stars I would. My husband and I have scheduled an appointment for a couples massage as we just got married and couldnt go anywhere for a honeymoon. We read the reviews on the good service so we decided to book, we had the confirmation email and all. Upon arriving at 12 the door was locked even though they open at 11 am. When arriving she (we didnt even get a name) didnt even greet us, only asking did you book online to which we said yes and she said thats great, we didnt get the booking. Upon her actually looking she saw we booked 2 days prior. She offered for later in the day only. However, we are unable to change our time due to other activities booked and offered no other solution or provided any type of customer service. We paid for parking for nothing to be turned away, no apologies. We based our entire mini honeymoon on a couples massage and were unable to be offered a solution or given a genuine apology . Dont bother booking online because they dont bother looking.

We celebrated a birthday here in a group of three. We each got facials & massages. The actual services we received were amazing! I loved the products used, which were all natural. However, the customer service was insulting. We didn’t get the proper introduction/welcome. A party before us ran late so we decided to waste some time in the area. When we returned we were rushed into our services, and almost didn’t get access to the party room because the previous party was still there. We were told we could bring food and drinks, but we didn’t feel comfortable eating because the dogs were at our feet begging. Also if you don’t mind the DOGS barking during and in between services this may be the place for you. I even expressed my dissatisfaction while checking out, and didn’t receive a callback or follow up from the owner. We will not return! There are way better spas around!

My wife and I were in town for the weekend, and had a couples massage. Its a nice place tucked away downtown. The staff was friendly and the massages were great.

PLEASE READ REVIEWS BEFORE GOING HERE!!!!!!!!I did not like my experience here. The owners dog BIT ONE OF OUR BRIDESMAIDS!!! The owner did not remove the dog from the situation, and did not apologize to the entire group. Instead she looked at us and walked away. I will NEVER go back here again to spend $70 with two dogs bothering you while you eat, walking around, and potentially hurting someone.

My husband and I were in Pittsburgh for our 27th anniversary and had a couples massage. It was incredible!! Great environment and wonderful massages. If we didnt live in Brooklyn we would back on a regular basis.

This review is from Donna (Brians Mom). I spent the day at this spa with my daughter, my mom (80 years old) and myself. We had manicures, pedicures, facials, massages and our hair done and it was WONDERFUL! The staff is great and the owner, Jennifer, was terrific. I planned this trip as a Christmas gift for my daughter and Mom. I arranged everything over the phone and flew into Pittsburgh and went right to the SPA from the airport. Everything was terrific! Great homey atmosphere with super services!!!!

Linda was amazing. My face really needed unclogging and loved the energy. No upselling and straight up facial. The owners dog is a sweetheart and adds a lovely charm. Booked for the next month and look forward to having my husband have his first facial too. I found this business googling something close to work and wasnt disappointed. Im definitely a person that never judges reviews and support small business owners. Jennifer is awesome.

I went in for a manicure and requested gel. It’s a $10 upcharge which I think is fair. What warrants the low review is that after just one day, my manicure is chipping already. With a gel, that absolutely shouldn’t happen. That’s the whole reason I got gel : because I didn’t want it to chip like usual.The woman doing my nails seemed distracted and the drying unit used kept turning off as I had my hand in it. So who knows if my nails ever properly dried. The application of polish was sloppily done, there was polish on edges of my skin around my nails and that was disappointing for what I paid.

Spa Jema has been my home for facials, waxing, nails & skincare for 10 years now! The owner Jenn is lovely and very attentive to her clients needs. And one of my favorite treats is seeing woofie and bebes wagging little tails. Highly recommend this downtown organic day spa!

We loved the ladies at Spa Jema. We came for a group 30th birthday, and had such a great experience. The ladies are very nice and comfortable to be around. The spa is very pretty with wood floors and crown molding. The paint colors inspired me for my own house.Thank you Spa Jema!!!💚

I love this place. Jen and Linda are excellent. The massages and facials here are so good that, even when Im on vacation and at another spa, I pass on treatments because I know they would never be as good as what I can get at Spa Jema.

We had the privilege of having a pre-wedding spa day at Spa Jema prior to my sisters wedding. It was EXCELLENT. Such a unique and relaxing environment with wonderful service. It was the perfect way to unwind and have some fun prior to tying the knot. I cannot say enough great things about Jennifer and staff. We will definitely be back!!

I went to Spa Jema for the first time today. I had a deep tissue massage. It was hands down the best I have ever received. Great therapist. Great facility. I will definitely be going back.

Long wait even though we had an appointment well in advance. Two terribly loud & aggressive dogs. One of the dogs tried taking something out of my purse and I tried to push it away when it turned back and bit me so hard it took off a nail. My finger was swollen for 2 days. No one was there to watch over the dogs and no food was involved. Normally I dont leave this kind of review but after reading about a few others who had a similar experience I thought it was necessary. Even though the dog has bit their customers before they still continue to let the dog stay and roam freely. They’re loud and distracting so if you’re looking for a relaxing time don’t go to Spa Jema.

After speaking with Spa Jema less than a week ago to confirm a couples massage appt for my husband and I (as a Christmas gift no less) we were so excited to have a day date and some quality time before he left town again for work next Thursday. Unfortunately upon arrival to the spa, we were told our appt had been cancelled and that was that. We drove over an hour, lined up a babysitter, changed holiday schedules around, paid for parking... for NOTHING. So much for my husbands christmas gift and quality time.Do yourself a favor and go to an actual spa... so unprofessional and disappointing. And if you are looking for the relaxing, elegant spa look and feel, this place is definitely not it.

I have had several massages here, and each time Jen and her staff are incredibly accommodating to my random schedule. Celebrating our 17 years of marriage, my husband and I did the couples massage. So relaxing! I loved my experience. Planning my next massage already!

I get a massage every 2 to 3 weeks from Jennifer. Ive been doing this for more than a year. I prefer a massage on the light side. I explained that the first time I went. Each time I struggle to stay awake during the massage. I lose many times. The hot stones are so relaxing. At the end of each massage there is no tension in my body. I would go every day if I could afford it.

I’ve been to this establishment twice. The first I was greeted by dogs. There was no mention of dogs occupying the premises. What if I was allergic? It would have impacted my decision to select this establishment for services.I received a gel manicure. This was my first one. The lady who provided my service was great. The manicure lasted almost 3 weeks.My second visit, again greeted by dogs. I had a gel manicure again. A young lady provided the service. It was not as nearly as nice as my the woman who provided my service th first time. The manicure did not even last an entire week. I waited an extra 10 minutes to check out b/c she did not know how to process my payment. I understand there can always be a learning curve; but there was no acknowledgement or apology to the inconvenience of me having to sit there and wait while she waited to get help. I was disappointed in my second visit experience.

Very pleasant atmosphere, Paige is extremely good st her profession. I will definitely continue with her services.

***update, Lee no longer works here.***Lee, the hair stylist there is the best! It took me so long to find a stylist in Pittsburgh that I wanted to stick with, Lee has now been making my curly head of hair look the best it can for about 4 years. Hes really great at listening to exactly what you want and doing it, and also skilled enough that if youre not sure what would look good hell be able to come up with just the right style for you. Lee is also really great at teaching you how to style your new do. The salon is very clean, and has a nice calming spa atmosphere, definitely a relaxing experience. Couldnt recommend this spa more!

Absolutely wonderful! Both my boyfriend and agreed we are coming back next time we are in the Pittsburgh area! Their massage therapists know what they are doing and we both feel absolutely wonderful!

Love the space, love Linda who has done two facials and a body scrub for me. Their hours are great and they are always super friendly, (even when I was 15 minutes late to my appointment!)

My husband bought me a gift card for Valentine’s Day for a mani, pedi, massage, facial, and the sauna. When I arrived, the atmosphere seemed very relaxing. There were 2 small dogs to greet me when I walked in. 1 of them barked a lot, but it didn’t bother me too much because I have a dog myself so I’m used to it. I ended up getting just my mani pedi that day. I believe Paige is the person who did mine and she did an amazing job. My feet haven’t felt this soft in years. I’ll definitely be going back.

Couples massage for our anniversary, yes there is a dog and it is annoying, the staff tried to persuade us to keep the dog in the room, I had to demand it be removed. Massage was rough, I dont think they know what theyre doing. They took us 45mins late also, causing a parking ticket. Way better options out there, this place is a joke.

I wasnt very satisfied with the experience. I didnt like that there was a dog in the spa, it barked a lot during my massage which made me uncomfortable and the masseuse herself was horrible. She rushed through my entire massage, and pressed hard enough to bruise me, going in deep to the knots without warming up the muscles. Im bruised right now on my arms and feel awful, it hurts to even type. When I asked her about warming up slowly she just said that she had already warmed it up. I have been getting massages since I was thirteen and when I went to the room she treated me like I never had gotten a massage before. Even if you dislike your clients, I paid $85 and tipped her more to be polite, the least you could do is make me feel wanted and like you cared about my well being! I dont usually write reviews but this was the worst experience at a spa I ever had and it is affecting my work and will for days until I heal. I only hope she didnt damage anything permanently.

This was by far the most pathetic spa I have been to! I waited half an hour and there was no to give me any update. I don’t know if they were being racist because I’m brown or whatever reason. You guys fail at customer service!! Never ever going there again!

Ive been to this spa twice now and its totally not worth your money.First of all, there is a yippie dog that is constantly yapping when a new customer arrives and the owner doesnt seem to recognize how annoying it is for this animal to greet the customers. The massage rooms are FREEZING so getting undressed isnt much fun. The last time I visited, the owners yippie dog was scratching at the door to our room and without asking my permission, she let the dog into the room during my treatment. It wasnt barking but it was whining and kept moving around the room so its dog tags were jingling the whole time. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL!!The owner isnt the most gregarious person youll meet. There tends to be a put upon attitude when checking in and cashing out.I will not waste my money here again.
