Nice place. My accountants office is there. Nice and modern.
I feel compelled to give Riverside Center for Innovation a higher star rating because they provide my company with office space however, the last 3 months must be addressed. If you’re looking to grow your company in Pittsburgh and are drawn to RCI’s “innovation hub” there are some things you should be aware of before signing your lease…The heating is an issue. This past winter my co-workers and I literally sat working in our jackets. When we made them aware that our offices were freezing (while it was also 23 degrees outside), we were told that the heat actually BROKE on our floor. This problem was not fixed for weeks so we had to get a space heater! The space heater ultimately did not work because it was drawing too much power and caused some device power-outages.Before you sign your lease, please be aware that they actually CHARGE you for the meeting rooms that they are sooo kind to provide. We thought Awesome, we rent from them and they provide us with meeting rooms, great! We were unaware of these charges until recently and have since then ceased having meetings in the communal rooms.Lastly, the parking! They are unable to provide everyone in the building with convenient, parking next door so they’ve leased another lot, which is FOUR BLOCKS down the road. In freezing-cold Pittsburgh weather, this is not ideal. During the winter, I came in late due to having a doctor’s appointment in the morning. The immediate lot did not have parking; it was also 28 degrees outside so I parked in the guest lot (right outside the building). You’d think they’d call you or perhaps leave a notice beneath your windshield wiper or something but no. They leave a bright neon sticker on your window! This particularly upsets me since the landlords fill the facility to the brim with working people but lack the ability to provide convenient parking to the building? And the convenient parking is full of deep pot holes! The stickers do not come off easily (as all car owners know) and so I had to take my car to the auto shop for them to scrape it off with a razor, WD-40 and glass cleaner.Besides all of that plus the staircase being nearly inaccessible in the winter (due to the draftiness of the building, it feels like you’re walking outside), the cleaning staff is incredibly kind and helpful.I just wish I rented from people who don’t come across as greedy pigs and at the end of the day, I can’t see beyond that.
Freakin love this place... been here for 3 months now! Ive read complaints about the parking... but its FREE! Where else in or near town can you park for free? The overflow lot is a short walk but you can walk it on the riverfront trail. Roomy, comfortable offices, excellent staff, and right near the riverfront trail. Its an easy walk to restaurants near the stadium and the Heinz Lofts. Check this out if youre looking at co-working or office spaces in Pittsburgh.
