LeMont was recommended for drinks by some friendly local folks whom we met on our travels. Its quite a place, as shown by the images, with spectacular views of the city.Despite the up-market nature of the place, the table bussers and one or two of the waiters created a dreadful din as they cleared tables and hurled bottles into the trash can behind the bar. It was quite distracting at times and most unexpected. Our bar-tender was attentive and we enjoyed our drinks, of which mine was the local, excellent Penn Pilsner.
Cons: The atmosphere was ok at best. The feel of an expensive restaurant was at a loss on me at times i.e. the bartender having stains on his shirt, the restrooms wouldnt have you guessing that you were in anything with more than a $$ rating, and some questionable staff members)Pros: awesome view, good food
To start off, the wait staff were very kind and had great service, even took a photo for us, but I would not recommend this place for good food. Typically the food is your basic fancy American food, but the quality is not worth the price. Youd get an overcook piece of meat, 4 boiled asparagus, and some mashed potatoes. You are paying for the view (which most seat views are obstructed by the metal railing/walkway outside the main window) and the decorated dining area. There are plenty of restaurants that have much better food with the same if not exceptionally better view.
Food was delicious. Atmosphere was beautiful. Canyon Road Moscato was light and refreshing. We will definitely be back for our anniversary next year!
Beautiful. Took my sweetheart out just for a nice date night. Inside is beautiful. The view of the city is awesome. Service was among the best Ive ever received. It was like the waiter knew exactly when to come and check in without being annoying. Food was absolutely top notch. We had lobster and steak. Beautifully presented and very tasty. Cheesecake was the best I ever had. I will be going back. Also keep in mind that this isnt a $50 date, if you go big like we did, expect to pay 200 to 250 for drinks, meals and dessert for 2 and thats including a generous tip.
Had the 28 day dry aged steak and it was really good. However the wait staff, the rest of the food and the experience all together was extremely disappointing for the amount of money we spent. We had to send a drink back for having a fly in it, as well as a piece of cake for the same reason. 2 of us got the same exact drink it was the strawberry basil thing. One was good and tasted like strawberries, the other, which was supposed to be the same exact drink, tasted horrible. It was like nyquil with vodka in it, it was disgusting. When we told the waiter the drinks didnt taste the same and one was disgusting, he didnt even acknowledge what we said. He just moved past it, didnt offer to make us a new one or even take it off the bill. Like I said the only good thing was the steak. The sides were very bland. I would definitely not recommend this place. You might as well go right next door to Altius.
Had a wonderful evening overlooking the beautiful Pittsburgh skyline while enjoying the company of a beloved group of friends from high school. We are now in our 60s, mostly retired, and get together from time to time to celebrate and support one another through lifes blessings and challenges. The Le Mont was a perfect spot for one such gathering. Truly special.
Never one to write reviews, but I felt like I had to here. Don’t let the beautiful view fool you - the food is below average at best. I think it was once a great restaurant but has fallen apart. Hopefully the staff can figure it out, but for now stay clear.
Everything was top notch. The waiter and person helping take care of tables were very helpful and polite. Food was delicious other then the mashed potatoes. View of the city is spectacular. I would definitely recommend Lemonts.
Great view at an older Pittsburgh restaurant. I appreciate the way this place clings to tradition from the maitre d to the way the servers are dressed. Knowledge of the wine list etc. Not exactly Michelin star but fine dinning none the less. Would recommend to friends business casual dress recommended.
We hosted our wedding here and it was perfect! The view, the food, the service - all of it was fantastic! Bill was so helpful through the entire planning process and the whole staff took such great care of us the day of! Weve come here for dinner as well and it is always wonderful!
We had a class reunion at the Lemont. The food was good the view spectacular
Great views and great service. Food was decent...but thats it. Just decent. I expected it to be better for the price. The chicken was tasteless the sauce was the only thing that saved it but there wasnt enough of it. The seafood is pretty decent. The same lightly seasoned vegetables with every dish is extremely boring, I would have liked if they did more with the sides and was disappointed with that. Youre basically paying for the view, not the food. Quantity of food was okay.
Stunning view of Pittsburg, the rivers and bridges!! Food and service though is at par with a washed up Carnival cruise line main dining room service except here you are paying for everything you order. Everything screams mediocre, save your money and find a better place to eat!
Great fine dining place! The servers are professional and excellent. Good food. They have a nice selection of drinks and desserts. The window seat also offer a phenomenal Pittsburgh view.
This is the kind of gracious, elegant, aerie of a restaurant that most larger cities have lost. A gorgeous, expansive interior, amazing view, gracious service from waitstaff who have been there decades, and terrific food add up to a singular experience in Pittsburgh. Not a once a week or even once a month type of place, it is perfect for special occasions.Do not miss the Steak Diane. Not to be missed.
Honestly. The location is great and you get stunning views of the city. But the food is horrible. Expensive for no reason, because it looks like everything was microwaved or boiled. Ive never had such bad food at an upscale establishment. And the service. Equally as bad and unprofessional.
Lovely meal and staff. Accolades to Danni, Tom, and Mark. Had a most pleasant evening there two nights in a row! (They know the story behind that). Extra thanks to Danni for her help. Valet parking crew is courteous and efficient.
I would NOT go here again. I ordered the Cesar salad & it was basically soaking in dressing & way too salty! For my main dish I ordered alfredo with chicken & broccoli. The chicken I did have in my pasta were so small - there is more meat on a chicken wing than there was in my pasta dish. Just saying. Maybe there were two pieces of broccoli. Everything is way over priced (of course) and I thought the food would be much better. The two best things about this restaurant was the view (that is what you are paying for) and the drinks were delicious & strong! I had grapefruit & gin. Parking - if you can, get there early so you can get street parking. I read the reviews about how expensive parking was & found street parking pretty easily. But I did arrive before they opened.
Great dinner wish we were seated away with the same view. Background music needs to played a tad bit louder but other than that no complaints great service and food.
My wife and I had our wedding reception there. Bill was our main contact, and did a tremendous job coordinating everything. He was was flexible and accommodating. The night of the event was perfect. The setting and service were second to none. Brian did a great job behind the bar. Would recommend LeMont to anyone looking for a reception venue.
Warning!Food was horrible, tasteless, and blandNot what I expected at all for such an expensive restaurant. Your paying for the view not the food. Just order drinks! Throw the food away. I was extremely disappointed by the food and I came here to celebrate my birthday and left dissatisfied. To the owners please work on the taste of the food and get a better menu selection. I felt like I was scammed out my money
The Lemont Restaurant was excellent! Our server Joe Z was great, very friendly and attentive. The supporting staff was also great. The food was very delicious and served hot. Wonderful experience.
This is the place for ambiance and a view. Its beautiful inside.Food was mediocre. This is a restaurant run on name and regulars, not for its culinary creativity or exceptional foodie offering. Dishes were plated nicely, but bland and neither of us finished our plate.Service: tableside was great.Bar service was subpar for an establishment of $$$. Our bartender must have been new- not only to the restaurant but to bartending as he couldnt pronounce Chianti and when he served our bottle of wine he actually just set it on the bar top and we waited for a while before realizing he wasnt coming back to open it or pour it. We had to help ourselves to open and pour it.Overall, still a romantic spot for the atmosphere. Overpriced for the food/service.
We stumbled upon this restaurant while we were traveling in Pittsburgh and realized we were not dressed for the occasion. The managers immediately greeted us as we were walking away and asked if we were visiting the area. When we explained we had not dressed for the dining room, they shrugged it off and told us we were welcome anyway as guests of the city. They set us at a wonderful table at the window. The food was amazing, the view was gorgeous, and the music was fantastic. That was over ten years ago and I still am impressed by their hospitality. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling in Pittsburgh. Just remember to wear a tie!
This place has nice ambiance and the staff are very friendly. Valet parking is available and they are pretty good as well. The food was delicious the menu however is somewhat limited but was able to find something that I enjoyed. I would recommend this place for that special occasion or just a night out with that special someone.
Normally dinner at the La Mont is fantastic since they have music, dance, and great food overlooking a spectacular view of Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, our last dinner there was a disaster. I had made a reservation at the La Mont for our 40th wedding anniversary. The restaurant knew about our anniversary and paired us with a great waitress. The problems occurred when a couple (supposedly a local politician and spouse) and their children came in. The children were out of control and the parents were oblivious to their actions. We called the manager over and asked if she could do something, possibly talking to the parents or providing the children with crayons or engaging them in some activity that could reduce their disruptive behavior. The manager refused to try and reason with the parents and brushed off our concerns. What would have been a wonderful evening turned into an expensive cook-out with out-of-control children. I would be concerned about visiting La Mont until they hire a new experienced manager who can solve problems involving misbehaving children with uncaring parents.
Here for a wedding, beautiful venue, great views of the city
I had an excellent meal with filet mignon and chocolate mousse cake to go with the amazing view of the rivers.
Fab place. We were there for a wedding reception, magnificent location. The food was the best and the cookies...
Nice view and the food was good. The dishes are huge.. could not finish half.We walked in Saturday without a reservation and they seated us quickly.Wine by the glass was advertised as 2013 however, the actual bottle was a 2017.Valet Parking is easy however for the restaurant guests it’s not complementary.
Wonderful food and service staff. Amazing decor, environment and view of the city!
Great view of the city. Excellent wait staff, although one guy had his mask below his nose. Bread was average. Caesar salad was below average, needing more dressing. Entrees (crab/lobster cakes and salmon with shrimp) were above average but not spectacular. Good wine selection. The food just doesn’t match the price you’re paying.
Marco c. Deserves a raise. From his speed to his cheesy but funny jokes....🤌🏾💋 *chefs kiss* perfect. Thank you so much for treating us so great tonight!
Thomas Z was an AMAZING waiter. The food was mouth watering, the view was even better. 10/10 would recommend. will be coming back to this place.
Food was great was there at a different time food has much improved will be returning staff was Great
Great food excellent service and great music! The view is the best on Mt Washington. Will return when I can recoup my money.
Valet parking would have been fine, but it took the valets 10 minutes to get to my car.
What a place to celebrate special occasions. The restaurant is gorgeous with views overlooking Pittsburgh. The staff is friendly and efficient. The food is excellent! Love dining at the LeMont❤
Came here to celebrate our anniversary and it was fantastic! We did wait a little extra to get an amazing window seat with a view so it was definitely worth it. We had the mushroom soup, filet/dry aged steak, and then Crème Brule, cheesecake, and a bottle of red wine.
One of the finest restaurants in Pittsburgh. The food is beyond description it is that good. Cant wait to go back!
Great experience. A particular thank you to our waiter Raymond who made this such a pleasant and wonderful experience. Thanks Ray! Would recommend this place. The food is fresh, the service is sharp, the establishment is very well maintained and the view is breath-taking. Much better than neighboring restaurants like Bella Vista. Cheers!
Great place for a wedding reception but ladies bathroom was out of service no flushing toilets. Disgusting for such an expensive establishment. No alternatives given. No free parking valet was fast though. Food was great. But not being able to use bathroom made this 5 star establishment a 3 for me. Great view of the city
The views are spectacular and the food is okay, not special, definitely not Five Star feels like they are trying too hard to be a bougie, upscale joint. It would be if the menu justified the prices. That said, I would recommend on the service, atmosphere and city views, just know going in thats what youre paying for.
This is class come to life in atmosphere, ambience, service....and then theres the unsurpassed view. A great choice for that extra special occasion.
Great food and great service. Our Waiter and Captain have both worked there for 40 years
First time for me and my daughter. The staff, food and of course, the view over the Three Rivers was great. We will definitely go back.
Salmon was delish. Server professional yet friendly.
I first visited the LeMontt a few years ago and was impressed with the scenery. But now I go back for the excellent food.
Stunning view. Gracious service. Amazing desserts.
Was okay. Not the fine dining experience I’m used to in other fine dining restaurants. Food was okay, kind of bland. Hospitality was mediocre, seemed like they were more focused on other customers that looked wealthier than other tables on dates. They didn’t put the bottle of wine in a chiller for over 30 minutes and then took the tables chiller next to us to put our bottle in ? Waitress came to my table a total of three times and never asked us how the food was. Bussers and valet were more accommodating than host and waitress. Wouldn’t go back at all. Even worse was the menu wasn’t updated on their website and they have a new July menu that does not include soufflé which is basically the whole reason I go to French restaurants. View was the best part, I’m not from the area but I’m sure there’s other places on the water.
I love the location and the view is absolutely amazing. You can see all of Pittsburgh skyline and the bridges. However, I was a little disappointed with the entree choices. I have been here many times in last 10 years and was never disappointed with food so I hope this experience was a one time think. As always, the service was excellent and the server was very attentive and friendly. I hope this restaurant survives the covid curse. Its a great place to celebrate an occasion.
Great view, even on a dreary day. Food was great, as always, and the service was excellent as well.
Wonderful Valentines day dinner, very attentive wait staff. Tremendous food from start to finish! If they only could have controlled the fog, the view of the city would have been amazing!
Le Mont Restaurant. My first visit with a party of more than ten, this last Saturday. The grandeur of the restaurant reflects the five-star rating as I was told that it is; however, I must compare it with five-star restaurants from NYC, Toronto and Shanghai, in order to give it a proper review. The panoramic view which the dining room offers is truly spectacular. The grandeur of the room captivates you and transports you to a time long pass.In my business, service sells, and good people pay for good service. I had to leave early and spoke to the maitre d about leaving my credit card with a young lady to pay my portion of the bill. I advised that my bill would have a tip between $200 and 300 dollars and so it was. It went smoothly. Our waiters/attendants did a great job, Marco was very attentive and respectful. I believe that a certain young waiter may need to have his skills refreshed, being too fast can have ill consequences, for example spilling food on the person of honour and advising a simple sorry and moving on, would not qualify you to serve at a five star restaurant. I understand how it works, but remember the patrons are your job.For me, my medium rare filet minion was done exactly how I do it with more crust(bark) and I think it may have been sitting too long, before I tasted the glorious meat. I took about 8 minutes to get to it, because I carry the food that I cook on my phone and demonstrated my steak filet to a Pittsburgh businessman in conversation, at my table. The taste was good, the bacon was a great addition. I had ordered a drink, other than water and after the first, I requested another, at that time I was told that they were out of that brand and suggested that I try another, to which I declined, making the comment to Marco, that that’s not done at all. To say the least, I was charged for two drinks when I looked at the bill the following day. I would call this an oversight. It happens…. Marco did pack up my dessert for me to take away, as time was quite short for me.I will be returning, to be fair and make subsequent updates to my rating and reviews. One thing I did notice is that there was no strict dress code. I recall being loaned a jacket before entering a dining room years ago. I was dressed in a long-sleeved shirt and tie but had left my jacket at the hotel. But then, that was almost 30 years ago.
The Caesar salad was wilted and we waited longer than usual for our meal
Amazing view. Excellent customer service. Fantastic food 😋
We came to this restaurant thanks to online reviews. We wanted to be on the hills around Pittsburgh at a restaurant with a view below to the city and the rivers. It was fourth of July and that whole area in Mount Washington was very crowded with people wanting to see the fireworks from up high. There were no parking spaces anywhere. We had not made reservations to the restaurant. When we pulled in front of it, the gentleman in charge of valet parking was very gracious to let us know that the restaurant was full, but suggested that we could try to find a seat at the bar. That is hospitality, as we have encountered at other restaurants that are full where they upfront don’t even offer you a chance. However, I guess this is Pittsburgh, and its friendly and genuinely nice people, that we encountered everywhere around the city. When we entered the restaurant we were at awe at the elegance and beauty of the restaurant, but the best part is the million dollar view that it has of the city and the rivers. It overlooks the junction of the three rivers that Pittsburgh is known for.At the bar we found seats, and were taken care by the nicest lady, Cathy, our bartender. We order some wine and dinner. The prices were reasonable, and the food was very good. There was live music, with a piano player and a lady singing. She had the most amazing voice, and was singing a lot of jazz standards. During the fireworks she sang patriotic songs. Some people were dancing to some of the songs; so much fun!The fire works were launched from a barge situated directly below the restaurant. We were able to witness the fireworks going off at eye level, which is a rarity. What an a spectacle!!!Even when we were tourists, and most of the people there are regulars that come back every year for the firework show, we were welcomed immediately and treated as family. We had the most memorable fourth of July ever: the location, the view, the restaurant, the drinks, the service, the music and the dancing. Thank you Pittsburgh, you live up to your reputation of the nicest people!!!!
My husband Jake Weigand had reservation at 5 pm.It was Excellent customer service given by our waiter. I dont know hes name. But his good, also all our food was really good...
This has been one of my favorite restaurants in the U.S. for decades. The food is superb and the view spectacular!
Fantastic food and service. Beautiful views of the city too.
Came here for mothers day. Dinner with m family and grandkids. The view was breathtaking gorgeous inside service was great but the food was bad steak cooked to long dried out the lobster 🦞 was very good and the salad everthing else very disappointing dont think Ill go back.
I took my fiance for her birthday this evening. The service and meals were spectacular! Our waiter, cant remember his name was very friendly and brought a slice of cake over for her with a candle. Thank you, will always be back!
Good service. Great view.
Went for our first anniversary which coincidentally was during Pittsburgh restaurant week! The food was excellent. I had the filet cooked at a perfect medium. The cappuccino rub was amazing! My girlfriend had the veal which was topped with crab meat. Delicious. The view speaks for itself, couldn’t get a better seat looking over the entire city! Staff was great and treated us wonderfully, greeting us with a happy anniversary. I would recommend LeMont for any special occasion!
My wife and I had reservations for 7:30 we arrive at 7:16 didnt get a table till 8 very displeased we were so displeased
We had another exceptional night at the LeMont. It is really a must do when in Pittsburgh. The food is excellent (tonight I had the duck) the view never disappoints and decorated for the holidays is an added bonus! This visit we were at a family business event and could not have enjoyed our night more.
Beautiful view, but our filet mignon steaks were all well done.
My wife and I had dinner there on Saturday as our first night out after having our son a few months ago. The service was terrible and we were not treated well. Our server came to our table 3 times total. Never offered to get us another glass of wine, never brought the dessert cart by as all the other tables had this experience, didnt even ask us if we wanted the check just dropped it at our table and ran. No thanks for dining with us nothing. Such a pity as the food was exceptional.
Beautiful views and the best service. Food is really good.
I recently had my daughter’s bridal shower at Lemont. Of course, the view was spectacular and the service was fine; however, the food was terrible. My guests had a choice of 3 entrees and since mine was so bad I asked many of my guests for an honest opinion of their food. I was embarrassed to learn that none of those I asked thought their lunch was good. Also, I made arrangements with the banquet manager to place the guests valet parking on my bill. I found out that some of my guests paid their own parking. My daughter considered Lemont for her wedding reception and we are so glad we chose another venue.
We had a wonderful meal at LeMont restaurant to celebrate my granddaughters 14th birthday. The staff was professional, yet friendly and accommodating. They helped us create a fantastic celebration for our girl. Thank you!
Egg drop soup rather saalty
Delicious food and desserts nice atmosphere and amazing view of the city
The best view in all of Pittsburgh night time is spectacular staff is extremely friendly very good food theyre Easter feast is our annual tradition
