I have lived in the area since I was a kid, now Im in my early fiftys, its good to find a repair shop that is not part of a chain, or franchise. Benders has been there for as long as I can remember, and I wont hesitate to take my lawn mower or weed eater to them to fix. They are honest, and reasonable. if you dont want to be taken for a ride, I highly recommend them.
Benders was eager to sale us a ride-on mower. But when it didnt work they were reluctant to pick it up and repair it even when it was under warranty. It has spent more time in their repair shop then it has spent actually cutting the grass! Last time they kept it for four weeks and returned it still not working saying there was nothing wrong with it, yet it still would not start up at our house. They suggested we drain the gas and put new gas in it. I would expect that after having it for four weeks, if they thought the was the problem, they would have done that before returning it to us. Dont waste your time or money buying from Benders. They cant service what they sale and their customer service is the worst!
I am a life long customer. Each time I take my repair work to them I swear I will never go back. That time has officially arrived. The owner is rude and unprofessional. Their repair work is expensive, slow and substandard. They love to blame you for their lousy work on bad gas! Have gotten the worthless white slip of ethanol free locations from them; 90% of them dont exist! This last repair, they literally broke my pull cord in front of me and it ultimately cost me $76 to buy a $26 part and screw on 3 screws. They even used a Chinese knock off part! No Patriots here! Old man Bender said you dont need to pull the cord all the way out to my wife. He wasnt there when they broke it! I can go on and on with many more bad experiences, but my lesson with Benders is dont take repair work to shops that sell new equipment. Take your repair work to a small shop that only does repair work and relies on doing great work to survive. The big box stores will put shops like Benders totally out of business.
