Had a tire patched on the roadside a few months ago and yesterday it was losing air. Was prepared to get a new tire but when we took it to Platinum Wrench they fixed it for free! Have used them off and on for years but once again was surprised and pleased by their service. Glad I didn’t go to the dealer.

After my car lost power on the interstate and the check engine light came on, I was panic-stricken. I managed to get home safely but the car still seemed to have issues. I contacted a well-known chain shop that was open on Sunday and set an appointment. They called me back advising that they could not see me until at least Tuesday because they did not have a Master mechanic on site until then. Obviously I cant wait till Tuesday when I have obligations such as work that require me to be present. I need my vehicle. I found this place based on reviews and even though I had never been here before I was warmly welcomed and greeted kindly. I didnt have an appointment but they worked me in and had my job done within relatively short order. I felt the cost was more than reasonable for what they performed. I will definitely be back to this shop. Thanks guys!

These guys and gals are great. My starter motor needed replacing and they had me in and out in just over an hour and now my 2001 Dodge Caravan is working like a champ once again. I recommend you put this shop on your speed dial!

Quoted me over the phone for service that booked only 2 hours and wanted to charge more than the dealer qouted me. However the individual was polite and respectful they dont lie when they say platinum wrench that has to be what theyre using to justify the cost.

Platinum Wrench took good care of me and my vehicle. They installed my compressor in 1 day and they went out of their way to find some bolts for my older vehicle. Bill (the store manager)has the best customer service Ive seen in a long time. I will definitely be back for all my vehicle needs.

I brought my truck to them at 12 pm and was done by 3 pm on a friday. They also had someone to bring me home and pick me up when my truck was done. Went in with issue was told it was 2900 but went to big tires and more they only charged me 730 for the same stuff and let me know clearly what needed to be done now and what later

I had my car towed there because someone said that its a good place to go. I got my car in just before they closed shop that day and gave them my keys. I knew no one would be able to look at it. The next day I had called and asked if someone had looked at the car to see what the problem was and they said not yet hopefully after lunch. I called at 230 and asked again because its my only car and I need to get to work or find ways to get to work. I asked them if someone could just look at to see whats wrong and to see how long I wouldnt have the car. They said that they would call me before 4. They did tell me but I feel like this place isnt about helping cars. They have plenty of business trucks and things like that they dont care about the other vehicles that come in. If they are that busy then maybe they should get more mechanics or say that its not for outside cars its for business card only. Dont take your car there unless you plan on waiting a good 2 weeks to get it back

BEWARE THIS PLACE. did a bad job on my jeep last time. Would not use again. After picking up my car from a mistake they made i find a old tire in my truck and my spare tire wire dangling on the ground. They will hold your car for a long time to if its their mistake they need to fix. Next time at least throw out the customers tire and roll up the spare time cord on the bottom of the jeep

Have now been here multiple times for myself my family and friends as well as customers from when I was a tow truck driver and with every single car problem weve brought them they fixed it correctly and if not the company would make sure to take care of you. Id say Ive had more experiences with them than I can count on two hands and not one has been a negative experience yet oh, unless you consider the car breaking down the negative experience haha

For the past several years, me and my 2001 Subaru have been taken such good care of at Platinum Wrench. I know it seems like its a fancy car kind of place but Bill Douglas at the front desk & Curt in the shop have always made me, and my super old ride, feel right at home. Ive had all the usual, expected, sometimes expensive, significant repairs for a car so old, and they take care of all the routine maintenance and oil changes, too. When I needed new tires, Bill told me to buy them at Walmart, but bring them in so I had them installed at Platinum Wrench. When they keep my car for more than a couple of hours, sometimes I take work with me and set up a remote office in their clean, comfortable waiting room, and other times, if theyve got enough coverage, theyll run me to my flat which is just down the street from the shop. The quality of their work is excellent, being open 7 days a week is a huge help, I know theyll take the same awesome care of you.

Took my motorcycle there to tap and die my fender bolt holes. No problem and they didnt even charge me! Thats fantastic service at and even better price!! I suggest them to anyone! Gonna buy a car? Bring it here first. They will diagnose it at a very reasonable cost, best money youll ever spend.

Some time ago I took my Focus to these guys and requested for them to install aftermarket suspension and to align the car once that was done. After paying nearly $700, i questioned why the rear of the car was so much lower than the front. He replied that it was the only way that they could get the car on the alignment rack. Thinking they had actually aligned the car I drove off and when I got home I noticed that my stock suspension was not in the car. I drove back to the shop and pick it up. This is when I noticed an odd sound coming from my driver side rear shock. As assumed it was just the suspension settling in and moved on. Last week I decided it was time for an alignment and to fix the rear suspension and level out the car. This is when my new shop informs me that because of the camber in the front that they wont be able to align the car... Thinking to myself... What camber? It should be on point. I look at the tires and the entire inside of the tire was bald while there was still 60% tread on the outside. Then they tell me that the sound that I was hearing was the fact that one of the bolts holding in my shock had snapped due to over tightening. Needless to say I do not recommend anyone to go here as they will over charge you. And likely damage you car.

Came in on a recommendation from Honda. I needed my fender cover and undercarriage cover screwed back in as they fell off due to a blown tire. I bought the screws from Honda for $25 and went to Platinum Wrench and they were more than accommodating and didnt charge me a dime! I will definitely come back and service my car with them based off their hospitality. Thank you guys so much - you save me a bunch of money!

Best service in town!

One of the most dishonest, unethical, unmotivated, disloyal auto shops in Pinellas. Replaced brake calipers and didn’t return the mounting bolts! Who does that. Service techs look hungover and front office is arrogant and uninterested in anything but making as much money as possible off every customer. This is the auto shop you were warned about as a kid!

This business doesnt even deserve a 1 star rating. I cannot express how unsatisfied i am with the service i received from this so called AAA certified business. So much time and money was wasted with these unprofessional mechanics and the owner. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. They definitely through a wrench in my entire weekend.I had my vehicle towed to Platinum Wrench on Saturday morning at 8 AM to have some repair work done. Needless to say, after what should have been a 4 hour job turned into a 48 hour job.I was given unrealistic expectations and wasted my entire weekend. The owner Robert told me countless times, oh, your vehicle will be ready in 30 minutes, 1 hour, close of business etc. It was clear to me this wasnt going to end well. When i arrived the 3rd time I was told by the mechanic my car would be ready in 30 minutes. That was a joke, i waited in the for over 2 hours. At this point, my frustration level was through the roof and demanded that they stop working on my vehicle and i wouldnt be paying for any services. After, my car was in the shop for 2 days there was zero work done and my car is in worse shape than what it was when i brought it there. The owner is unethically, the mechanics are inexperienced and have no communication skills.I am so disappointed with the entire experience. If i were you i would stay clear from this place.

I own a fleet of work vehicles and all of these vehicles go to be serviced and repaired at platinum wrench. Their pricing and service compared to many other shops in the area just cannot be beat. I also have a very expensive personal vehicle that I would not trust with anyone else. Highly recommend, five stars for sure!

I took my Ford Explorer there last fall because they were open on Sunday and my car kept stalling. I was so afraid they would find all kinds of things wrong with it, but they found the problem quickly, and even drove me home so I wouldnt have to wait there, and they brought me back! (We only have one car) And the price was right! They also put new brakes on a few months back and I am very happy! Definitely recommend them!

Truck started leaking coolant days before a long trip planned. Called the team and they got me in same day. Replaced radiator and hoses. They cost less than dealerships and their service is so much better. Do yourself a favor. For all your auto needs, Platinum Wrench is your team.

Ive been going to Platinum wrench for years with several vehicles Ive had, they always do a great job for a good price and stand by their work. Dropped off my truck at 7:30am for a diagnosis, told mechanic at drop off the issue was a 5 volt reference and that I just need them to determine if it was one of the sensors gone bad or if I need a new ECM.After not hearing from them all day I called shop at 4:30 and was told they were still searching out the issue and that theyd call me back. They never called back and they closed up the shop with my truck locked up inside. VERY unprofessional to not even call and let me know my truck needed to be kept overnight. Went back 7:30 next morning shop owner told me the mechanic looked at my car until 10:30am the day before and that they determined it was an issue with the 5 volt reference and that they now needed to figure out which sensor needed to be replaced. Since this was EXACTLY what I told them was wrong when I dropped the car off and absolutely no progress had been made I took my truck back AFTER shelling out $140 in labor fees for them to diagnose my car.Never been through such ridiculousness in my life regarding a mechanic shop, Ill never return and Id advise you to go elsewhere! 4/12/19

Not only have I been taking my car to Platinum Wrench Auto Repair in Pinellas Park for about 4 years now, I also refer all of my friends there now. Every time I come in for an oil change or any maintenance or repairs, they are quick, friendly and best of all knowledgeable. I came in when my Jeep needed a new radiator and they were able to get it done overnight and had my car ready for me the next morning, ready to drive to work! When my wife was looking to buy a used Volkswagen Golf, we brought it in. On the lot, the car looked great, 8,000 miles for $6000. When we took it in, they were able to put it up on the lift and we found out that the car had been sitting outside in the snow for years, and the whole chassis was rusted out. If it werent for Platinum Wrench Auto Repair, we would have bought that car and regretted it every mile we drove. Once again, an amazing Auto Repair experience.

Replaced the alternator on my car twice because they said it made noise. Took it to alternator repair specialist who said there was nothing wrong with it. Platinum would not stand behind their work. They suggested it must have somehow cured itself, and the noise was a different noise caused by a belt. Im out about $900. Also, they left the interior spotted with dirt and grease.I have 3 other cars theyll never see again either. I wouldnt let them work on a skateboard, if I had one.WJR

My husband had it towed to Platinum Wrench and we received an estimate AND full explanation of what was wrong in terms I could understand. Went here some time ago, had a ujoint done on my avalanche, it’s been a long time since the work was done, now the other ujoint went out, took my truck there to fix, they proceeded to tell me someone JB wielded the back ujoint, I told them it was them. ReallyJB wielded a ujoint. Then they charged 280.00 to fix what they messed up. Complete hacks, don’t trust these ppl

If I could leave a HALF STAR I would...After having a new air conditioning unit installed in my car, I took my car to Platinum Wrench to have the system finished up and re-charged. I paid $160.00 for this to be done. The new unit burnt out after only a couple weeks. I returned the parts to the auto store where purchased as it was under warranty and had another new unit installed, thinking the 1st one was faulty.I went back to Platinum Wrench to have them finish up and re-charge the 2nd unit as I have been going to them for years. Once again I paid $160.00 for the service. Once again the 2nd new system only worked for a couple weeks and burnt up!!At this point I decided to get a second opinion so I took it to another auto repair shop. This mechanic asked me if Platinum Wrench flushed the system, and stated that they should have advised me that all new systems need to be flushed when replacing. Platinum Wrench never advise me that it needed to be done or offered to do it.I asked Platinum Wrench to install another new unit that I provide, flush it and recharge the system free of charge this time as they have caused me considerable time and expense to replace 2 units already.They refuse to stand behind their work and told me no.They stated that I did not ask for a system flush.I am NOT a mechanic so there is no way for me to know that the system needed flushed. Isnt this why mechanics get paid the big bucks?? Never in my life have I had to tell a mechanic how to do their job or what needs to be done.So after $320.00 in charges I have to pay another company to install another unit and flush and recharge the system.After years of business with Platinum Wrench servicing my personal car as well as ALL of our company’s vehicles they have now lost thousands and thousands of dollars in revenue.I advise everyone to take your business to a company that stands behind their work and avoid this business completely!

The best service ever

Took my honda here once. Just spoke with some guy in the parking lot. They wanted something crazy like 300 for a outer tie rid end. Went home and did it my self for 15 bucks. Ordered it on Amazon got a Dorman end. Paid a another shop 50 bucks to align me. Not only that, but they have some guy with brown short hair seemingly in his 40s slender that appears to either work there or cuts through the back. Drives a big white Ford or Dodge Diesel. That likes to threaten people by jerking his pedal and trying threaten hitting them with his massive deisel truck. Seen the guy pull out threatening a guy with his kids in the car few weeks back. Threatened to hit him pulling out the back of Walgreens. Last year saw the guy try to swipe a grey Hyundai and a guy in a black pickup. Pass this place by. Over priced and some idiot in a white deisel with brownish trim that travels 66th and races out a back of Walgreens needs his license taken. Seems to come from here. And one more thing. Come on give me a break just because a guy may or may not have worked for you doesnt mean his review is less valid. Those are some of the most valid. There are things you cant say when your employed that can get you fired under a crooked boss. That you can say, when you no longer work for them. Of course he is going to say the truth he never liked about you. He doesnt have to worry about you paying him any longer.
