Got a recommendation from a family friend. Thought I had 4WD problems and after a short drive Reid diagnosed the torque converter. Rather than sell me on a new one they recommended a treatment, got me in the next day, stayed in contact while they had it and charged a reasonable rate. Weve called several places to have our AC repaired in our Toyota van.... The AC evaporator under the dash had to be replaced and everywhere else would like to way overcharge us because were seniors so we have to watch what we spend since were on a fixed income. So Pats Automotive quoted us a price much less than anywhere else plus they completed the job so quickly it was done the next day. Been going here for a couple of years now with my old vehicles. It seems to me that they are very good at diagnosing the problem correctly the first time, saving time and money. Their pricing seems fair, once they diagnosed an issue for me without charging and I fixed it myself. Another time I replaced a transmission cable but I couldnt get it securely in place and they did that for me at no charge.... I just tipped the mechanic.... So these are great guys to work with.

Left car to replace Alternator and He ended replacing the Starter. Put new starter and because the car did not start, said the starter was fine but the engine was locked up. He did not checked the alternator. Bottom line is I needed a new engine. So, to get a 2nd opinion, went to another mechanic and after the diagnostic the alternator was replaced and the car was fixed. all back to normal. Last, when He put the original starter back on, the other mechanic found the screws loose. I would not recommend.

Im sorry but I was not overly impressed on the phone. I dont even leave Google reviews too often but Im very frustrated. I called them yesterday and asked if I could tow my car and he acted like it wasnt a problem as long as it was the next day. Then I called this morning and hes like oh now its changed till Monday. When somebody is depending on their car and doesnt have the money to have a rental car days on end its respectable to at least be honest with somebody up front you dont want to handle my car its fine. maybe this place is fine if you have a scheduled appointment out a week I dont know but I was not impressed with an emergency situation that happened with me they were definitely not accommodating. again, maybe they do great work but Im not impressed with how they handled my situation.

We have been in Dunedin for many years and thought we had found our forever mechanic. Unfortunately due to business conditions he had to close and move so we were a bit unsettled as we looked for a new and trustworthy mechanic. We tried Pats based on reviews and neighbors suggestions and honestly, he has been better than we could have ever expected. Im a fan of older cars so to be honest, I need a good and reliable mechanic to keep us going. My son in law is also a fan of older cars and he had some major front end issues and we could not be happier with the results. I honestly feel we will get 2-3 more years out of his car because of the work Pat did. My wife is more into newer cars, but no problem, we have taken hers to Pat as well and its always good as the dealership, probably better (well, no espresso machine but I know the price and work is better!) Im fairly new to the area and was looking for a trustworthy local repair shop. I found that here! Pat and Reed are caring, friendly and honest. I made an appointment for full brakes as I was told by a large chain shop that I was driving an unsafe vehicle as the brakes were so bad. I wanted to give my business to a local shop and found Pats. Their Google reviews helped me to choose them. To my surprise I was advised by Pats that I had at least another year on my brakes. Thank you so much for your honesty. An estimate and a courtesy phone call with an update was agreed upon by Reid, instead a phone call that unauthorized work had been performed was received. Upon arrival this morning, when Pat was questioned about their practices he got defensive and snatched the invoice away. $100 to put in a plastic plug and 3 bottles of antifreeze. Keep the money. The negative effects of your below the board actions will be your true payoff. What a joke. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

They have fast and friendly service but I wasnt pleased with the price gouging. I took my Honda there go get a small break light switch repaired. The part was $3.48 and it took them 5 minutes to install. Somehow I walked out of there with a $50 bill.I dont understand why shops dont take opportunities like this to say hey, ya know what? It was a really easy fix so were gonna charge you $10 for the job. Have a great day. Guess what? I would have left a great review, come back for future services and told others about your business. Instead that rediculous charge for 5 minutes of your time is likely going to turn a lot more business away.

I have been taking my vehicles to Pats Automotive for years. Pat and his son Reid operate with the highest level of integrity. Very knowledgeable, fair pricing, and excellent work. My last visit in to their shop I had a washer reservoir lift replaced and my ac blower motor cleaned out. The body shop at Auto Way Nissan in Clearwater never properly fixed my washer fluid sensor. The light is finally off and i couldnt be happier thanks to Pats. Also my Nissan Titan never had an air cabin filter installed from the factory. Im so glad that I had Pats install one when they cleaned out my ac blower motor. They have also installed tires for me in the past, tire rotations, oil change, rear parking sensor speaker, and a window lift motor. These guys do it all and I will keep going back for excellent service. Thank you Pats Automotive Service for your excellent work!Updated Review: Recently I had a tire that was going flat. Pats Automotive fit me in the day after a holiday. I had a pin hole in the side of my tire. They put a new tire on the vehicle for me. I went to pick it up and it did not look fully inflated. It turns out my decorative valve stem caps were a problem and allowing air to escape. They also reset my TPS light. They solved 3 different problems for me! We have utilized Pat and Reids expert talents for over 15 years. One example, a few years ago one of my Benzs had a issue with the idle and start up. Crown had the car three weeks could not fix. (upon request) I called to make an appointment, and was pleasantly surprised that they got me right in.Their shop/waiting area was clean and uncluttered. Even their restroom was clean! (these things may not seem important when selecting an auto shop, but it does say something about the type of business they run)Not only was the service inexpensively priced, but they were fast and friendly. I’ve been going to Pats Automotive for the last 10 years and have been extremely happy with their services. I just had a problem with my radiator part that wasn’t supposed to break and Pat got me back on the road ASAP within a few hours of telling him what was wrong. I think Pat and Reed at Pats Auto are very honest and have fair competitive pricing. I have been taking my cars and trucks there for years and have never had a bad experience.

A couple of times ive brought my car here and the last time they didnt hook my battery up correctly and my windshield wiper fluid isnt spraying out. I can hear the motor running when i use it but there is no way it broke on its own. Doesnt want to fess up to shoddy work. Not going back, doesnt matter if you guarantee good work if something else always breaks that you have to pay to fix and be inconvenienced to bring it back in.

Bought a car from Pats, it was a real good experience. Gave me a great deal on a very nice Jetta, and they handled everything right there for me. Im sure they are great mechanics because of the quality of vehicles that were for sale, and all the vehicles that they were working on.

I had my car towed to Pats automotive yesterday, in a panic and scared that any repairs would cost an arm and a leg. Pat and Ried were awesome! Not only did they assure me that they would get to my car today but they really put my mind at ease about the whole process. Pat called me around noon and told me that my car was ready to go and at no charge( it was a simple loose terminal). I will only be using this shop from now on and will recommend them to everyone I know.
