Jim is a very personable guy and i appreciated the time he took walking me through a nursery and choosing flowers to plant. Two of his workers Eddie and Nick did a great job on my yard. I had quite a bit of sod laid down, drip system placed, sprinkler head replaced, as well as had numerous shrubs and trees put in.I would have loved to give more stars, but unfortunately, 5 of my shrubs didn’t even last a year and died. At $25 a shrub/plant, I was pretty disappointed at this. Additionally, I didn’t receive two of the plants I had asked for (Texas bell plants). I’m not sure if Jim honors any type of warranty on his shrubs or not. Additionally, I had to ask a couple of times for the guys to come back out and clean up our yard properly after they had finished their work (dirt and rocks everywhere, drip lines exposed, tools all over, shreds of our landscape fabric cut and thrown to the sides.)

After almost 8 months of empty promises and “we’ll do better”, we had to part ways with Jim in December. After getting quoted for services in April to level our backyard, lay down grass, build a perimeter planter, and put in some plants and trees, I can honestly say that we were only ever satisfied with the grass they put down.After drawing a to-scale model of exactly what we wanted, the lack of communication between Jim and his lead, Nick, was apparent quickly. Things we discussed with Jim did not get communicated to Nick and we got to the point of having to be home any time work was done to correct any issues.Work progressed well for about a month until they ran into several staffing issues and began prioritizing other projects over finishing our yard. Jim was initially up front with us on rescheduling, which we happily agreed to, but then things devolved from there and we were not notified they would not be coming certain weeks and would have to reach out to figure out where we were at.After some of the work was “done”, we asked when some of the other things like leveling the yard would be finalized and this is when Jim decided to tell us “your yard isn’t actually supposed to be level”. I’m still not sure exactly what we paid for there, but trusted his word as the expert.Unfortunately we paid for almost everything up front and, as of this review, we received about 80% of what we were promised. In addition to still missing trellises that we paid for and Jim has ceased responding to us on, we received trees that were smaller than shown, a planter that still wasn’t filled in with mulch, and several plants that were not what we ordered and never replaced.I do not believe Jim to be a deceitful person. I do however know that the way they managed our relationship was indicative of woeful disorganization, poor time management, lack of communication, and an over commitment of limited resources. I wish we had been able to continue to work with them as Jim is a truly nice guy. However, the execution of the job we paid for is still not done despite paying thousands of dollars and patiently working with them for 8 months before calling it quits. I hoped Jim would at least have the decency to deliver a few trellises we paid for but has since stopped responding to my messages.If you do decide to work with them, please do not pay for anything until the job is done to your satisfaction, you have received all of the materials in the state you expected, and have a contract outlining when the job will be done with recourse if it is not done in that time. Even then, I have to imagine most other companies will give you a better value, experience, and end product than Hometown Oasis.

I didnt even get a call back from several landscape companies to install sod my backyard but Jim responded promptly and came out the next day. The bid was fair and he kept in touch as the installation date drew near. The crew was professional, personable and efficient. I love my new lawn. After the job was done, Jim called back to see if I was satisfied and came back to fix a minor sprinkler issue. Great people to work with.

Update: 2 months after dropping a decent chunk of money on the weed killer that was supposed to be guaranteed for quite some time, the weeds are back in full force 😩Original review: They were prompt and the weed killer and fertilizer definitely did the job. They even came back and removed a plant that did not come back as they thought it would, free of charge. Will definitely use again.

I am very happy with Jim & his crew in reinstalling new irrigation lines to my existing yard.They did a good job and have demonstrated great customer service & quality.Hometown Oasis provided me a reasonable price quote compared to others. I recommend this company.

This company is terrific! When they detect a leak, they let you know right away and get it taken care of. The crews are professional, always do a great job and at a great price. So happy with them.

We have worked with Jim and his crews on many Job sites. They do the landscaping and we do all the trees. They are a pleasure to work with always show up as planned on time and work hard its great to be able to rely on such a great operation.

Hometown Oasis does our entire families bi weekly landscaping. I think they are the only reliable landscape company in all of Arizona. They show up on time and do exactly what we pay them to 5 stars!!!!!
