Wonderful experience with my wife and I who went here our last day on our vacation. We are from Virginia and the owner made us feel extremely welcome. The art here speaks volumes to those who will listen and the ball pit was just pure fun.I HIGHLY recommend.I will not post pictures of the art as I believe pictures do not do it justice. Go and see for yourself.I will be back with my wife again next time I am in Phoenix.
The concept is great. The official videos are amazing but once you are there the place is super small. People bearly dance and the rest of the museum is super small. And both experiences cost 40 bucks. Thats a lot for what you get. If it would cost 10 I would go again. But I dont recommend it for this price.
Not at all what i expected, its definitely an eye opener to things they want you to see. The ball pit was AMAZING! BUT ..the part i didnt like was the ceremony before, it was very offensive and long. Pretty boring, the museum was crazy but pretty cool to see. The museum itself doesnt take long to go through. Do not recommend to children or religious people.
I went with my 15-year-old daughter, and we had a fabulous time. When first arriving there was a friendly greeter to take our tickets. They had waters, AC, and even a photo booth in the waiting area for us. I wont spoil anything about the exhibits, but we thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Interesting (and creepy...but a good creepy lol) things to see kept us busy until we made it to the ball pit. My teenager had a blast in the ball pit and I had a blast watching her. I participated too, but it wasnt as easy for me being 7 months pregnant and all. We got some wonderful pictures and as we left were already talking about going back before we even made it to the car. Thank you Lavatory for the terrific evening.
This entire experience was both peculiar and delightful. We went to a Cleansing experience the day before Labor Day, and Ive never seen anything like it! The pit was really a fun time with great photo opportunities. The museum itself was simply bizarre with eccentric art pieces, interactive exhibits and more photo opportunities with props. Both Bill and Void were extremely friendly and helped make our experience great. Overall, Id definitely recommend this weird little nook to just about anyone.
The lavatory is definitely a place to visit whenever you want to have a good time or to see a different perspective on art (just when you think you’ve seen it all you truly haven’t). The creepy yet intriguing atmosphere is definitely something to experience. My boyfriend and I paid a couple of visits because it was so great and got our picture drawn! The owner B (Bill) was extremely welcoming and great to talk to and be around! Do not be startled by how he presents himself. He is an amazing artist with a dry sense of humor which can come off differently to some people, but overall he’s an eccentric human. The lavatory has great customer service as well. I dropped my phone in their crazy colorful yet super sanitary ball pit and they got it back to me the next day. The ball pit is also quite an experience and I highly recommend it. I recommend everything they have to offer!
This was a great experience. The owner personally greets everyone before entering. He also gives a brief intro and some ground rules before the ball drop which happens at 7p. Cleanliness was not a concern at all and there was more than enough room to move around without bumping into anyone else. You are required to remove your shoes so make sure you bring socks. It was fun feeling like a kid again.
Everything about this place was amazing. Everyone was greeted at the door individually in their own manner. The workers there all have amazing personalities and the atmosphere and sense of community is wonderful. I got so many good picture, but also lost my phone in the pit for a hot moment so I would definitely advise storing anything important in a bag. Thank you so much Bill and Void for hosting this, it was the best night I’ve had in a very long. I’m excited to see all the new things to come!
Amazing experience! I had a blast and had a cocktail at the bar next door beforehand, but that didn’t have any impact on the experience. The focus of the evening was the ball drop and the fun that came with it, not judging the people around you or letting anything dim your shine. l I would feel comfortable bringing my younger brother here, the whole atmosphere was warm and inviting. 💜
Who would have known a place like this even exists. Let alone to be located here in Phoenix. I recommend everyone who is even remotely debating about going. To go as soon as you can. Great atmosphere. Thank you for creating such a fun experience.
Absolutely incredible. This is what I want interactive art experiences to be — surprising, dark yet fun, heavily layered with details to notice — but very rarely find. Highly recommended! (Also, bring socks, and if you’re wearing a dress, wear shorts or leggings under if you’re going to the pit!)
The main installation (Im not telling you what it is in case you dont already know) is enthralling. I sat there for a very long time, in quiet (inner quiet, the environment is noisy as hell) comfort. When you go, I would encourage you to put down the phone for a little while and just enjoy! The other installations showcased some serious artistic talent, and the scale is magnificent. Im proud to have Bills work in Phoenix.
This place was pretty cool, but just of the rooms were small and it was packed. Eventhough we have tickets and a set time we had to wait to get in since there were so many people ahead of us. I would recommend for some one to check this place out, but not sure if I would come back for future visits.
Great experience. The owner comes out and personally greets everyone and makes you feel welcome. The ball pit itself is a very unique experience; one that I’m glad I did. The art is also one of a kind. If you’re looking for something g exciting and unique, this is the place to check out.
Birthday celebration, anniversary, any special occasion where you want to have fun and let your inner child/weirdo shine in a safe space? This is the place to visit. I had more fun in my hour visit to the Lavatory than I have had at any art exhibit, concert or dinner with friends... and there is not much else to do with a group nowadays is there? There is now. Visit the ball pit.
This place was great! We had so much fun. The Mega Drop was definitely worth the extra money. Bring your socks! Rated PG13.
I have been here two times now, the first time just to the ball pit. I took my boyfriend here on a date and he had the best time. walking through the museum was really interesting, it was cool to see whats inside Bills mind. every time I go I cant wait to go back!! If youre wondering if you shoudl go the answer is YES!! I wish I could give the lavatory more than just five stars.
I went with no expectations and Lavatory exceeded that by far. Seriously, had a blast. The ball drop brought everyone back to childlike state. The Museum was interesting for sure, interactive and secrets to be kept. I wouldnt mind coming back!
AMAZING experience. Bill is very personable and greets everyone individually as you arrive. The ball room is going to be one of the jewels of the valley. As a photographer it presented a space for me to be creative and try something different.Family friendly environment and perfect for all ages. This space is unique and is something that PHX has been needing for some time! Will be back for sure!
So glad we decided to go to the Lavatory. The museum was spectacular, definitely makes your mind go into a different element. Interactive art at its finest. Wed LOVE to see a Lavatory/Meow Wolf collab.
Super fun experience for anyone 5+. Being part of the ball drop is cool, but not necessary. Access to the pall pit is a must!!! Great time and fantastic picture opportunities
Such a neat place! This is pretty much a girls adult ball pit. So much fun! Its great for a date night or just a reason to release the inner child in you. They offer private parties too. The Pit is one of six themed rooms that together are the Lavatory experience. If you have an iPhone checkout the perfect light in one of the Claymation booths. The remainder of the Lavatory experience is expected to open in January 2019 but the owner Bill gave us a sneak peek. Cant wait to see the whole experience soon!
I went a few weeks ago and I had a great time. The ball pit is smaller than I expected, but that meant the group we went in with was much smaller, and had a more intimate feel. I enjoyed the art upstairs just as much as I enjoyed playing in the ball pit.
A group of us went and it was an immersive experience. The cleansing is a must. I love looking at the world through other artists eyes. This interactive museum makes you look twice, and has you pondering the meaning behind it.
Wow, went with friends and family on a Friday for their opening night, what an awesome experience, great music with plus awesome lights and art. Reminded us of Meow wolf in Santa Fe. The owner, Bill, gave a cool introduction and an employee named Meriote was super helpful with some questions we had. Definitely a cool place to go for a date night or with friends and family.
Went here with my boyfriend back in November...had such a great time. The owner is so sweet and the vibe is awesome. Void is the coolest and loved being able to meet her!!
I’ve never been but this place seems pretty cool! I’m looking to bring my nehphew and a couple of his friends. They’re 16 - I think they would all LOVE it! One thing I must say is that just because of Bill’s response to Ann about, “making things right” is one reason why I already know I’ll LOVE this place myself! Thanks Bill, you seem like a pretty stand up guy!
I have always dreamed the idea of having an adult sized ball pit so I got so excited when I heard about this place, and yes, it met my expectations. Absolutely recommend and will return and am excited for the owner to open the other different exhibits. Hes hilarious.
This Place seems like a nice place however I went to this location a few months ago and they advertise six room but when you get there and pay only To find out all the rooms are not available. Was very disappointed I have emailed the owner and left a mesg with some girl with a accent who said she will have the owner call me. As of today no response from the owner. I wanted to give them another try but now I can’t get a call back.
This place is great I came twice in one week ! Bill is such a character as well Their customer service here is excellent and their ball pit is a loads of fun too my girlfriend lost her phone and they made sure to take care of her and follow up with her when they found her phone to make sure that she gets her phone back and we both greatly appreciate that thank you so much
Very cool experience! I had a great time dancing and playing in the balls as well as enjoying the the interactive art exhibits inside. Highly recommended!
It was great would love to come again. I would suggest putting something on the stairs though especially the bottom ones the metal grates hurt the toes and feet. Otherwise it was awesome.
I visited with two friends last night, and online it shows that theres a total of 6 rooms to check out and reading reviews verified that for me, but when we went, there was only a white room and a ballpit. And that only allowed us to spend about 20-30 minutes there. It just didnt seem like $60 was worth a ball pit and one room .Just kinda confused where 6 rooms came from. Not sure if Id pay that kind of money again. Unless I somehow didnt see the other rooms then Im mistaken .
This place belongs in a category by itself. Its incredibly unique and such a fun experience. I highly recommend doing this with your friends!
Awesome experience, really enjoyed the art and the entire experience is super well done. I really loved the ball pit at the end as well it looks amazing and the music is awesome.
Really cool concept, the museum was a bit small in regards to the exhibitions. Overall I had a good experience, the host was awesome and welcoming as well as his staff.
Wonderfully unique experience. Staff includes an amazing dancer, a beautifully gothic female host and Bill the owner even took pictures of us all afterwards. Everyone young and old in our group had a blast.
Lovely location/exhibits, god-awful website. The mobile site is a joke, it didnt process mine or my friends attempts at payment. Its difficult to navigate to find any information about the exhibit we wanted to buy tickets to. First attempt wouldnt accept my address, second attempt just would keep taking me back to the home screen after putting in my credit card information, third attempt the mobile site kept adding extra tickets, etc. Simply buying 2 tickets took 20 minutes.....I highly doubt Id ever buy tickets from the Lavatory again.
It was a different experience. Would of been better if the place were bigger and the balls dropping were high up from the ceiking
An amazing place, the owner is fantastic and the whole place is an artistic wonderland. The ball pit was amazing and is just one of the rooms! So incredible!
Amazing experience!!! So excited for the rest of the rooms to open. The ballpit is basically what you imagine a club will be as a kid. Will be coming back!!
A ball pit for adults, Lavatory Phx definitely was quite a unique experience! Like no other place or interactive room I’ve visited, this place makes it feel like you’re entering the party of the year! Such upbeat music and vibes it makes you want to dance your way through the pit. Bill, the owner of the exhibit is truly dedicated in his work of art and he will go above and beyond to make sure your experience is more than satisfactory! Right before you enter, he greets you personally and he genuinely gets to know you, and by that you can tell he really cares about every single customer that enters his exhibit. Unfortunately, I was unable to enter during the ball drop due to certain circumstances, and when I bought a ticket I ended up accidentally purchasing a ticket for the next day rather than the night I arrived. I told Bill about the unfortunate events that carried on and he wanted to make sure my friends and I received the experience we anticipated, even inviting us to come another time to actually see the ball drop! Never in my life have I receive such wonderful and caring customer service that someone would go out of their way just to make sure we are beyond content with everything provided. That is definitely how businesses should be run and how they succeed in the end.
One of a kind experience. Highly recommend. You’ll never experience anything else as simple yet unique as this.
I have never been here, but Im going to book a reservation for a private birthday party, I just want to know since theres no resteraunt, if for a birthday party we have to bring in our own food like pizza for example.
Amazing my kinda place/art fun colors, surprises 🤩🤗🤘
Lots of teens there. The rooms were cool but the ballpit was overcrowded. But I see that it was a birthday party. Will try again another time
That was an amazing experience. Would truth! Dont bring your purse or glasses in. They might get lost.
We definitely enjoyed our visit and will be returning again soon! Cant wait to show more people the awesomeness of the place 😁
The ball pit was really awesome. The art was bizzare ... definitely a sight to see .
What a cool experience! Amazing art and the ball pit is a good workout
Freakiest place in phoenix, would recommend (somewhat concerned about the care of their mice though)
Everyone should go, it was awesome! Super fun and very different.
The owner, Bill Tonneson and his employees Void, Lizzy and Marrioth are all wonderful it is such an inviting place, wonderful art installations and the ball pit is so much fun, I love the changing color lights and music. Keep up the great work guys ❤️
Went this weekend. Was taken by friends as a surprise for my bday. We did cleanse and museum. Everything was amazing. Super cool, creative space, interesting/thought provoking atmosphere and concept, very friendly and accommodating staff, including Brother Tonnesen, the owner. We had a lot of fun. One of the most creative experiences I have had in Phx. Almost hard to believe its in Phx; seems more Portland or Seattle. Small, intimate venue. Its also nice because its about a 2 hour gig, which is just about my attention span. I would highly recommend and would bring friends and visitors back in a heartbeat.
I had a blast, very fun and unique place to go with friends or family. Will definitely go back!!
Sorry, this reveiw was accidently blank earlier, dont know what happened! We had a ton of fun here for my friends birthday. This place is intriguining and the owners and staff are here to give you a real experience. I appreciate the attention to weirdness and detail, every bit. Thanks for having us!
I brought my daughter and her friends to the lavatory. They are 15. Though Bill is very kind and the concept is cool, I don’t feel it was age appropriate for kids under the age of 18. I brought them to the 6pm ball drop. There were kids younger than 12 there as well. Once the balls were dropped the kids had a blast, but it has a dark, night club feel. There is also art work around the lavatory that should also be for 18 and up. The speech Bill gave before the balls dropped made me uncomfortable and the teens i brought too. Definetley for an older audience. If there was a way to have one night for teens that’s more age appropriate I think that would be great. The owner is very personable, friendly and accomadating. He has created something so unique, but I feel it is definetley for an older crowd.
Don’t recommend!! A bar is right next to the place a lot of drunk people go to this when done drinking and not the funnest when it’s like that people love to throw balls at your face and at you the whole time, went there to celebrate friends birthday and one of my girls got hurt and they others almost got in a fight with the people throwing balls at us ! DEFINITELY not a kids place I saw 2 little girls getting hurt in the balls because of people not watching and throwing balls
One of the BEST experiences!! I recommend it to everyone and still talk about it with friends weeks after going!
Got old fairly quickly. There was only one rooms open so we paid $50 for one ball pit
The owner B was extremely demeaning when I asked him a valid question on one of their Instagram photos. I asked if there were preventative measures to prevent needles from being thrown into the pit and was met with a paragraph of sarcasm. Ironically, this was on the post where he bragged about his excellent customer service. By the way, cleaning the balls every night would not prevent someone throwing a needle or any sharp object for that matter into the pit on every given night and infecting someone. I was told by every single family member and friend that I asked to go to the Lavatory with that needles in ball pits were a very common thing in the 90s. Even if this wasnt a thing, Bs response was completely unprofessional. He proceeded to make 2 more posts mocking me and cyber harassing me basically calling me uneducated with his interactive 8,000 followers. His comments and posts are now deleted but I screenshotted them as I suspected he would do that. Perhaps he is the uneducated one, or if I am, he could have informed me politely that I was misinformed. Needles are nothing to joke about anyways. Screenshots can be found on Yelp or Facebook if they dont appear here.
A great atmosphere and sense of humor loads of fun, although I would not bring young children
So much fun playing in the adult ball room.
Can’t remove but after hearing about the info I’m deeply saddened to hear what has happened
Some terrible things have come to my attention and I can’t support this business. Google will not let me delete.
Interesting place to visit. But it is really small.
Cool and weird place, but small and gets boring after the 3 things to do unless you get the combination of event + exhibit
I literally LOVED IT
Really fun and unique experience.
This was fantastic! Went with my team from work and EVERYONE had a ball!
Such vision passion and fun
Crazy cool concept
Unique experience
Super fun
Very nice
Amazing!
Sweat and balls
