I only went here bc I didn’t want to wait or be around a bunch of people. The owners seemed fairly nice. As I walked into the shop it reeked of cigarettes. She sat me down on a very dated pedicure chair with no massage chair. I am short and had to sit up close to the bowl to reach the wash bowl correctly. She turned on the water which started off cold then got warm. Once complete w pedicure, in a very dated fashion, she drained the water and I smelled raw sewage coming from the sink. The pedicure turned out ok. I chose a design from an old nail display and wasn’t given any other options. The pedicure w out gel was $35 then I allowed her to redo a set and do the ombré nails seen in the photo, she rushed, hurt me while removing nails, and never apologized. By the end I let her know I did not like the peeling all around my nails. She put a bit of oil on my skin. It continue to peel. I asked for lotion. Applied it myself. It still continues to peel. I shouldn’t have paid my $85 but I didn’t feel like arguing. But I will never go back. The shape is terrible. These are supposed to be coffin but it looks odd. The cuticles are sloppy with clear finishing coat. Yuck! Never again.
Be careful who you choose.A good nail salon host is very important. My friend had a great host, who massaged the oils on her feet for at least 10 minutes. My host rubbed some oil on my feet, scrubbed a little and I didnt get a massage at all. Ill choose someone else next time.
So here’s the thing about this place. It’s never really crowded and you won’t have to wait very long for service. However the service you receive isn’t the best. It’s very rushed. The color selection is meh. The shop is very outdated and they seem to have a plumbing issue. After getting my pedicure when they went to drain the water it smelled like garbage. I’ll go here when I don’t have a lot of time . If I can wait I’ll rather go elsewhere
So heres the the thing about this place - its never really crowded and its reasonably cheaper than some of the others in the area. The female owner, Star, her husband and daughter work the shop. They follow a safety standard and the place is clean. They are outdated in the sense they dont do dips, the polish they have there sticks to basic colors for both gel and regular polish, designs are going to be cute but youre not going to get the Cardi experience. I like coming here because from my experience my nails have lasted a long period of time without chipping, the polish has remained glossy, and my nail shape has always came out nicely. Plus they do eyebrows nicely here. Its a quick place to go if everybody else is busy or you just want a not so populated nail salon. It is true the husband can have bad days I have witnessed it and I often wonder if its a cultural issue/lack of sensitivity on his behalf but to be fair I have also seen him interact very friendly with customers. Theres the negatives and positives from my perspective, hope that helps.
STAY AWAY! NOT THE QUALITY IT USED TO BE!I sat down at a table after filling out the COVID 19 forms and having my temp checked . The male manicurist started immediately. The instrument to remove my gel polish was Going at high speed and my nail bed started to burn . When I said ouch I got a big lecture on how he’s been doing nails for 20 years and I’ can go to someone else . I know we are living in stressful times but that was uncalled for. He got up, turned the machine off . When I tried to explain he told me to shut up. Well.... that’s when I had to go in ! I’ll gladly take my coins somewhere else!
I think that they rush
I never ever ever write google reviews.... but this is by far the worst nail salon in Philadelphia. The owners are rude and quite frankly inconsiderate. When they feel like someone is questioning their practices they become defensive. I walked in a 6 pm on a Saturday because their sign said they stayed open until 7pm and the owner legit yelled at me and told me he closes at 6pm. I politely reminded him that him sign stated that they were open until 7. He shouted back....”No one can tell me what to do”. I cannot and will not support this business. There are by far too many nail salons who take pride in their salons and their relationships with customers. Do better.... that is all!
Sooooo rushed she was taking my acrylic off and ripped my fingernail off. So she only did 9 fingers and had to leave the other cause it was bleeding. They need to close.
So today Wednesday May 9, 2018 I went to get a manicure and padicure for my 8th grade dance. I loved it😍 coming back here to get my nails done for my 8th grade graduation
I went there they werent crowded the place was clean the lady was very nice and accommodating and she did a wonderful job on my pedi I think i found a permanent spot
Owner tried to place one of his regulars in front of me, I was there over 30 min before her. So I left he cant get a dime of my money
I live right down the street from this place and went there last week for the first time, very unprofessional and their work isnt that great. I got a full set by the guy that works there he was very rude, gittery and seemed to be on edge. I got a full set done by him and asked if he could file the sides a little sharper and he had the nerve to get an attitude as if Im not paying for what I want. I shut that down real quick though. Needless to say, I will not be returning and they could have a loyal customer. Bad business
Worst pedicure Ive ever had....rushed. Will never go there again.
The worst
Never heard of it
