Comfortable stay for a basic hotel. Nice room, decent gym, friendly staff, clean facility. I dock one star simply because the water in the room, while hot water was aplenty, the COLD water was not! I had to go downstairs to the water in the gym to refill my water bottle. Other than that, though, no complaints. If you are looking for a nice room with simple amenities, this is a great option. Dont expect to get pampered at Aloft, though - thats not the kind of hotel it is.
The room was nice. The bar was still closed when I stayed for the night. Shuttles run every 20 minutes to the airport. And parking for a fee. When I arrived back, I called the hotel and told the receptionist that I was waiting at the upside pickup area. Well 3 calls and 55 minutes later, the van arrived to pick me up. It was not labeled, the 3rd call was to ask what it looked like. Its white and purple. When I seen it, I was like that van did not drive by... Its one of a kind. The driver said he was there 25 minutes ago. And the air conditioner in the can didnt work. Also, I was out for 10 days, I was told with parking, anything after 7 days is $8 a day ($12 within a week) when I went to pay for the parking after arriving back, they scanned my parking ticket, I went to insert it in the gate to leave and it was $120.
They clearly have an issue with the air-conditioning in all rooms. The hallway and lobby is much cooler. General manager tried to find a room that functioned properly but told me that this is typically the best the air can get. After reviewing previous reviews many had the same problem. Along with comments about very dirty carpets and I agree.
The Aloft is usually my go to hotel because it’s so close to the airport. I’ve stayed there more times than I can count. Up until last week it had always been a pleasant experience. The ladies that work the front desk are simply amazing. Check-in is usually very painless. Last weekend I ended up having an older African American guy at the front desk and let me tell you he has no business working there at all. He is downright rude and disrespectful. The sole reason I will not be staying at this hotel anymore. I happened to be telling on of my co-workers who also stay at the Aloft quite a few about this experience. I was so surprised to hear she had a terrible experience with the same guy and had already switched her hotel. Please let me know when this guy is no longer working there so I can start staying there again.
Love these guys!! clean and chic 😎. Not what youd expect from an airport hotel. I get to see them before I fly and when i come back!! Always an excellent stay 💜♥️ really great to start a trip off staying the night here for an early flight!!
It’s a nice trendy hotel. Simple and clean. The woman at the front desk was quite accommodating and switched me to a new room because there was a dog barking next door. I also had a malfunctioning AC unit and they sent maintenance up quickly to take a look at it. Little things like that show how a hotel knows how to take care of its guests. I appreciate that.
I love the Aloft chain. The one in Philly near the Airport is interesting. First beware because we were told the security deposit was $250 AT THE TIME OF CHECK IN because too many people were smoking in rooms so the manager raised the deposit. Upon looking at the bill it was less than that. When questioned the front desk employee said “sometimes it charges less - it just does that.” I’m sorry WHAT?! Upon reading the paper at the desk it said we charge 15% for security deposit. Well those numbers didn’t add up either. In our room the thermostat was dysfunctional, and in the shower the shower dial came off the wall. One final note. There are no steps to go up if elevators are an issue for you. I was told it’s a security feature and If I wanted to use the steps I would have to have someone from the room come down the same set of stairs to open the door from inside the stairwell.
Never stay here. Hotel is fine. Waited 85 minutes at the pickup spot for the van to pick us up. Called several times, no idea why you are not getting picked up. Finally got picked up and lady at the desk said it was not her problem. Do not stay here. Other vans were passing us from other hotels. Not worth the hassle.
Nice to not have to pay outrageous $ exactly at the airport. The only thing was there was a little wait for the shuttle coming home. I guess more people are flying around so they will have to adjust. All in all, no complaints. Friendly staff.
I wont stay at this hotel in the future because they have no microwaves in the rooms and no bathtubs. But I am giving them two stars instead of one, because the people were nice and when my AC wasnt cooling my room the maintenance guy went out of his way to make things cooler. The running water is odd also because it is extremely hot for some reason no matter which direction you turn the handle. I think you have to pay for breakfast and parking is $15 per day.
Friend staff, clean rooms and THE BEDS were heavenly and I do mean heavenly. 😴😴😴😴
Negative: Multiple instances of calling the hotel and never receiving an answer; phone just rang and rang. When was able to reach someone, was told conflicting information from various staff members. This included late arrival information and airport shuttle info
I have been intending to write my review on this hotel since earlier this month after my stay from 9/3-9/5. After leaving on 9/5 to catch an earlier morning flight, I handed my room keys and gave the room # to someone who I was later informed was apart of the night crew. Around 12:30 pm, I received a text alert showing a charge on my credit card so I checked my emails and noticed that I had been charged a $250 smoking fee when neither myself or my significant other smokes. I called Sunday and couldnt get a resolution after being told at first I needed to speak with maintenance supervisor. After going through two front desks agents, I was advised I needed to speak with the general manager as I was told they had proof of smoking in the room and we requested to see it. Needless to say I was never shown the proof although after it was investigated further I was advised I would be refunded. Disappointing to be accused of something and treated so rudely by the staff. I dont know what goes on there after leaving your room without physically checking out, but we left around 3:30 am so there was plenty of time before check out. We smelled smoke in the halls as well, but to keep telling me it happened in my room was just unbelievable. I have learned a valuable lesson about checking out of hotels and being very observant after arriving to my rooms.
My room smelled like smoke. There were cigarette ashes on the toilet when I checked in. So the cleaning clearly isnt thorough. Ive been here 5 days and housekeeping hasnt been in the room once, my trash hasnt been emptied and no towels given. Most of the front desk staff have been nice except for one guy who acted like he was being inconvenienced. Pool is closed. No microwaves in the rooms which is like a basic feature in this day in age. I pick this because it was run by Marriott, but Ill never stay in an aloft again...especially this location.
For the price and compared to surrounding Philly/PHL hotels, this is a good value. It has nicely appointed rooms with a functional layout. Coffee and tea are available in room. Toiletries per usual. While this is not a new hotel, it shows some age, but it was comfortable, clean, and quiet.
The bed was nice and the room was clean. The lobby and hallways were dimly lit, and I didnt have a sense of security. There was a bug in our bathroom. Overall, it was just okay. This hotel was not for me.
Nice looking hotel very close to PHL airport. Staff awesome and always helpful. Will keep coming back for sure.
Shuttle is awesome. Room was great. Rise share and food delivery is a pain
Room was fine. shuttle to airport was easy but waited an hour for the shuttle back to the hotel before just giving up and calling an uber
Hotel room was nice and very clean. All of the staff working front desk were super friendly and accommodating.
I had a horrible expérience with Ishmael at check in . He spoke in one word commands. He was sucking thru his teeth as to remove something that was lodged in them. He wouldnt acknowledge that I did check in online and was inquiring about the mobile key feature. I also expressed that I was not comfortable about the room being on the first floor and would like a room on a higher floor because being face to face with cars and people passing was a security concern to me. His reply was that the higher floors were reserved for other guests and if I wanted to sit in the lobby until 3am and wait for cancellations, I was welcome to do that. I’ve never had to reserve a room on a particular floor anywhere I’ve traveled. It would have made more sense to tell me that this was the last available room. I knew then that I had just fallen into a pile of B.S. and that I was dealing with an unusual character. I thought about canceling my reservation upon running into this situation, however it was almost midnight. Ishmael does not represent the Aloft brand, He even asked me to make up my mind so he could refund my stay if I was not staying in the room assigned. He also informed me that there were 2 other hotels in the same proximity and was welcome to call around. Ishmael has a bad disposition when addressing concerns and comes across has nonchalant and obnoxious. As he puts it, he’s just the night person and don’t know anything about online check in. I’ve stayed at many Alofts and had pleasant experiences as an airline crew member and on personal travels. This experience was horrific because of one individual person.
The hotel is nice and comfortable with great amenities however the person who was checking in people, was absolutely the rudest I have ever encountered! She was constantly on the phone with her girlfriend instead of helping customers. Then she would scold and raise her voice at customers for sometimes signing in the wrong place. Customer service goes a long way in our business, and I wont stay there because of this person
The hotel beds were not that comfortable, we stayed for the night because of an early morning flight. We kept our car at the hotel while we were gone and used their shuttle service. When we arrived back at the airport we were stranded for an hour waiting for their shuttle service which we were told comes by every 15 mins. We called the hotel three times and they kept saying the driver was there. He was not. Poor service do not recommend this service at all.
The Aloft brand is well recommended. Rooms are very comfortable with good amenities. Staff were very helpful.
Positive: Nothing. The room was ok. The staff was horrible. Location is ok but if they never answer the phone then you have to pay a taxi to get there. Worst night ever of travel Ive had. Negative: Yes, they never answered the phone so I had to take a taxi to the hotel instead of the shuttle. Then when I get there they dont have the room that I book o er three weeks ago. To make it even worse I called the hotel on my layover and let them know the p
Negative: After paying the initial fee for the hotel room, I had to pay an additional $250 for incidental charges, which is fine. But, after check out I was supposed to have that charge reversed and returned to my bank account. They did not return it
This place gets 5 stars from me because of the fantastic front desk person who assisted us...the beds..and the shower...
The hotel was very clean and quiet. The staff were amazing and helpful.
I booked my hotel through Marriott iPhone app and got hotel booking confirmation around 9:30p on the day of arrival (Aug 14th check-in Aug 15 check-out). I tried to perform echeck-in around 11:30p but somehow it didnt assign room. Upon arrival around 12:30a, they told me hotel was fully booked by 7p and somehow Marriott pushed reservation. However, hotel didnt cancel and returned my points used for booking. I sent several message to Marriot as well as Aloft but no resolution. I need my points back and apology from hotel chain as they stranded us in the middle of the night with kids. I dont suggest this hotel and would not stay in the future. I am gold elite member. I filed complain now with BBB and will reach out to Director at Marriott HQ if not resolved.
I had flight change and they asked me to pick which hotel and from 3 I picked Aloft because I stayed here before but this time my luggage was checked to my final distinatination so I did not have my stuff. I asked for travelers kit (Tooth brush, toothpaste, deodorant) and gentlemen went to the drawer digging and gave me these stuff. Toothpaste and no toothbrush, razor blade is good and dont need and asked for the third thing because I am bold. For a hotel that have their name in the airline list, I do recommend they do better. I should have picked other hotel. The room is very nice and clean. I was just disappointed.. I wish if they had a machine and I would have bought the stuff. Most hotels provide them if needed.
Beautiful rooms..just wish our hotel remote worked and my kids could use the ps4.
I never thought I would need to lock the deadbolt of my hotel room until someone else other than myself was given a key by the front desk to my room. So at around midnight, I would wake up to someone I dont know opening my door. Among other issues, this is the worst experience at any hotel I have ever had!Update: They apologized saying they have been having system issues. When I come back later that day, they will give me a new key which will disable any others. This tells me that everyday for a week that my key was disabled, someone else got a key to enter my room while I was gone. This hotel has some horrible security issues. If you can help it, please go somewhere else.
Nice clean amazing place 👍 staff was very professional an helpful plenty of things to do if your single or time with the family 5 stars all day
So to start out. I arrived out the front of the hotel and had to take a parking ticket because parking was 14.78 a day. Marriot app said free parking. I checked into the hotel the lady at the front desk was nice. She needed to see my ID and credit card. I thought she said I needed to run the card for the 25 dollar incidental fee. My phone alerted me when I was in the elevator that the hotel charded my card 250 dollars. So I went back to the front desk to ask about it. The lady was talking on her cell away from the desk so I had to wait for her to come back to talk to her. When I told her it ran for 250 instead of 25 she assured me it was 250 for the fee but it was ok because I get that back later. I dont know what incidentals there are her but the room was only 144.29 for the night. Then I got to the room. Took the kids shoes off and he ran around on the carpet for about 5 -10 minutes and his feet were black. Mildew in the shower. Other than that it looked clean. Safe wouldnt lock shut. Pool was closed for 2021.Would not recommend. Just do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. This is the worst aloft Ive ever stayed in.
Positive: It was cute or whatever Negative: The damn pool is closed
I really like this place, the only thing missing is the free breakfast but besides that all else is beautiful, the gym is modern and updated,i can only imagen this place in the Summer, must be the spot to be, nice and cleaned, spacious and comfortable, you can sense already that Im recommending this place.
Positive: The Front Desk Clerk was so professional and Courteous. Negative: None
Second try. Worse than the first. Between arriving at the loft, or the partially lite other signage, because two of the three signs are burnt out, nothing has changed. The room was dusty and smelled of smoke and mildew. The lobby ceiling was just as dirty, if not dirtier and stained. This place and management is a serious let down. Cheaper rates, but wow, its not a happy place.
This hotel was great. Stayed here for a couple of hours before my flight since it was very close to the airport. The room was very clean and it was really nice. It was a big room but the layout was good that it did not feel crammed.
Nice faucet and sink, very very good view of incoming airplanes.(5th floor. )If this particular room was a bit bigger 5 star 4sure.......would likely be the rating.
I couldn’t hook my Roku or gaming console up to the TV. That’s apart of my business and i was staying there in business. The only positive about this hotel is the front desk. Impeccable customer service. Aloft/Marriot, you lost a valuable customer
Older hotel. The hotel is not updated how the pictures show. You can tell it was really nice when it was built, but it is run down now
The bare minimal with decor. Smelled funny. Bathroom door wouldnt close and floors were dirty like they didnt mop. Carpet stuck to my sock.
The rooms was ok, the carpet could have been cleaned a lot better but other then that it was nice.
Room is clean. My husband called to book room and asked if the pool was open.. they told him yes. When we checked in the pool was not open. We were also told that they would be serving (selling) food at the bar.. negative. No trash bags in any trash cans in the room. No iron. No ironing board.. just a clean room..
Good place to stay the night before early flights.
Really, really nice. Very clean and cozy.
Nice room very clean an the staff was excellent
Positive: My wife enjoyed the free pool table and lounge / bar area as well as the spacious room. The staff were also very friend and help as well. Negative: The only thing I did not like was that on the one side of this hotel is facing a highway and I think that the hotel should look at options to help dampen and reduce the noise. I found it difficult to sleep when your hearing a race track outside
Nice vibe to it. Shower could use a bit more pressure and a light was out in our room, but it was a nice place- is come back here
Positive: Location Negative: The 250$ hold on credit card
Not the best. Very dirty and crusty. Dark narrow hallways. Lots of finishes in the room that need to be updated. Loud AC/heat unit. VERY thin windows, can hear almost everything outside. Carpet was in terrible shape with almost mounds of dust near the floorboards. Cracked and missing floor tiles. Disgusting grout. Rooms need a complete revamp.
The pictures are deceiving. Not as nice as it looks. The room air conditioner unit was loud. Phone didnt work. Damaged table.Bed was comfortable. Was able to bring my pet with me. Three star hotel, three start rating.
Awful location, the hotel restaurant is closed and the rooms are getting pretty run down. Definitely avoid this hotel if you can.
Unfortunately my choice is limited when I travel or I would not stay at this location. This visit the room was disgusting. The hotel definitely needs a wake up call in housekeeping. During a pandemic you would like to feel comfortable with the room you are staying in. It was late and after a long day of work I just got in and feel asleep relatively quickly. The next morning in the daylight I realized how dirty this was. I tried to call the front desk and my phone was not working. I did mention to the manager and he was genuinely disturbed by the pictures I showed and with my concerns. I again recently stayed here and Ill admit the room was cleaner but overall Im not impressed by this property. I would suggest looking over this location.
Big air port and clean
Great customer service cool place
It is very clean and very low key
Great hotel! It was clean and the staff was very friendly!
Very nice place!
Very noisy heat/ac unit in the wall - difficult to sleep. Shower faucet difficult to adjust water temperature - either very hot or cold. The cappuccino machine downstream produced something not resembling coffee let alone cappuccino for $3.50. On the top of it the ticket required to get out of the parking lot did not work.
Chic, every state i go to I look for an aloft.
Charge for breakfast and charges for parking and limits the amount of guests u can bring
Aloft PHL is super close to the airport, in a cluster of other off airport hotels and easy to get to. Aloft had a great room, and spectacular shower. The only issue was the kids running around the halls until 2:30 am. It was like living in a day care. Rough when you have to get up at 6. Id stay there again, however if there were kids running around the floor again Id leave and never come back. Front desk didnt help much, discussed with a flight attendant on the elevator down in the morning, and she agreed it was a terrible night sleep because of the kids. I say kids, they were easily teens.
The rooms are spacious and well suited
We got a free room here because we missed our connecting flight due to our first flight being delayed. American Airlines put us in a room for the night. Our kids always like staying at an Aloft
Comfortable and clean. Shuttle to airport, right on time.
Poor customer service from front desk staff, Shanea. Nobody would answer the phone when we attempted to call to have an airport shuttle pick us up, and she even hung up on us. The rooms were outdated and no soap stocked in our room. The AC unit was loud. The room didn’t seem very clean. I do not recommend staying here.
I stayed there the night of January 1st 2021.A receptionist had given us the wrong information on where to get the shuttle and when my coworker POLITELY told her where the actual pick up spot was she gave him attitude. As annoying as that was it was nothing compared to what happened later that night. The Man behind the counter took my card to charge me for a bottle of water and two days later I see Two charges on my card equaling $100. I’ll be calling my bank tomorrow morning and filing a complaint with hotel management as well. I would avoid this place at all costs seeing as they employ criminals. And know that $99 charge is not for incidentals because my company is who pays for the room. The only time I pulled my card out was for the bottle of water. Stay away from this place!
Positive: Close to the airport Negative: The cleanliness
Very terrible and dirty place
We arrived pretty late and tired. Apparently that is the general description of this hotel, late and tired. I wish I would have taken a picture of the blood stains under the sheets but I didn’t. Non functioning lights, used laundry smell, overall feeling of dingy, this place had the same feeling of a dive-bar. The feeling where you know that if you turned the lights on fully, you would see a decades worth of cleaning undone. I didn’t get bitten by bed bugs, 2 stars.
IVE BEEN TO THIS HOTEL 3XS AND HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE THE FIRST 2XS, BUT THE THIRD TIME (12/3/20), WAS THE WORST STAY AT ANY HOTEL IVE EVER HAD! THE FRONT DESK ATTENDANT WAS EXTREMELY RUDE AND HAD NO IDEA WHAT SHE WAS DOING TO CHECK ME IN, AND THEY RUSHED ME OUT AND GOT AGGRESSIVE WITH ME FOR STAYING 20 MINS AFTER CHECKOUT. I COMPLAINED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE THE SAME DAY AND THE MANGER COMPLETELY IGNORED MY COMPLAINT AND NEVER FOLLOWED THROUGH WITH CONTACTING ME. MY CONCERNS WERE NOT A PRIORITY AND THE MANAGER HASNT CONTACTED ME TO THIS DAY (ALMOST A MONTH LATER)!!! IM SO DISGUSTED I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN! MANAGEMENT AND FRONT DESK NEEDS RETRAINING ON HOSPITALITY!!!
We have been staying here for years and it’s always been amazing, but this most recent stay was awful. First, the woman checking us in wouldn’t even talk to us and was on her phone. Then, we got to our room and our TV would not work and the shower would only pour out scorching hot water. One of the men was very pleasant to deal with, but put us into a smoking room with a horrible stench of cigarettes. Not to mention it was 10 o’clock at night and we had to be up at 4 AM to catch a flight. We normally highly recommend this hotel but after this stay we will question whether or not to stay here before flying.
Good, clean, quiet.....just hated to pay daily for parking. I enjoyed my time here.
Honestly, this is one of the best hotels that Ive ever stayed in. In fact, when I came to Philadelphia for the first time, I wish this was the hotel that I would have picked. The entire vibe that the hotel gives is nothing like your average hotels. Ive been in plenty that have been updated and have bars/restaurants. This is the first one that the layout and atmosphere made sense. The rooms layout was incredibly functional. Everything in the room was incredible to me.
Loved this location. Room was clean, the decor of the hotel is modern and the customer service I experienced during my stay was exemplary.
Needed a room very last minute at 6am due to Covid keeping family out of hospitals while surgery is being done. Found out they have Day use rooms and they were able to reserve for the night as well if we needed it. Thrilled they could get us in before check in at 3 unlike other places! Love the decor as well!
The only problems we had were the posting passes and the pool was closed
Positive: Front desk staff very helpful
Negative: The hotel overall has a terrible smell in the hallways of the room floors. Bedding was not clean.
Showed up at 130am with a confirmed reservation and was told they had no rooms and had overbooked due to a “computer error.” Was not offered any assistance to find a new room.
Nice rooms. My shower only had 130° water. Had to sponge bath. Only there one night.
Aloft PHL Airport is a terrific hotel for a quick trip to Philly, whether for business or personal. The property is great, excellent location and great sized rooms. As a gym fanatic, I wished there had been a bit more to the fitness center, but its got the basics. Hotel Staff is phenomenal.
It advertises that the pool is open and its not, Covid is real but at least tell your customers that it is closed. It was the main reason we chose this room. It also advertises free breakfast not true either another reason why it was chosen. I feel it was overpriced because of this and my next visit to Philadelphia I will not come here. I did like the shower and the bed was comfortable
Clean room, Nice bedBut a bit pricey !
Beautiful hotel
Aisha at the front desk was very rude when I called for the shuttle twice and ended up waiting 40 minutes.Other than that, the hotel was nice and clean and close to airport.
Nice place but who makes there guest play for parking they lucky we come and for that I will not stay here again
I typically stay at Hilton properties but stayed at an Aloft in Austin earlier in the week and loved it so decided to give this property a try. After traveling for 2 weeks straight I was looking forward to a good nights rest before my flight home. I get in a little late and head to take a shower and the bathroom light doesnt work at all. I ordered a flat bread from the restaurant and it was so burnt I couldnt finish it. I then try to go to sleep and the air conditioning sounds like a motor. Due to exhaustion I fell asleep fairly quickly but halfway through the night I was awakened everytime the air kicked on it was so loud. I even turned it off and for some reason the air was still coming on. I got barely any sleep. Had to wait until Monday to speak with Eric the manager who has yet to return my call. Not a satisfying stay at all.
This is one of the coolest places that Ive stayed. The atmosphere is terrific. Im not a huge fan of being located next to the airport, but it was still in the best location for our travel purposes. I love the room layout and functionality..... and the shower was awesome.
My stay here was great. The friendly staff at the front desk allowed us to check in early with no fuss. They room was great and clean. Bed were comfortable. The whole atmosphere just felt great. Only thing that I didn’t like is the food area was a little expensive.
Hotel was nice check in was easy. Deposit was returned in a good amount of time. Pool room was warm although the water was pretty cold. Did have an issue with the shower not draining but it was quickly taking care of. After the water drained maintenance did not wait for all the water to go down which left a black substance in the shower. Did not use after that. Overall a good experience
Worst Hotel Ever. 190 a night after taxes. No free breakfast. Minimal Breakfast charge $10 for small portion meal per person. Loud people in other rooms and staff doesnt do anything to shut them up. Marijuana Smell in hotel. Check out at 12:00 pm but House keeping keeps knocking on your doors to leave at 9:30 am. Its like they dont know how to run a hotel. I usually stay at Hilton. This is my first stay at at Aloft Hotel and it is my last. Going to stay at Hilton from Now On. This hotel is a joke. Stay Away or Stay at Hilton. Hilton is a way better stay and professional staff.
Stayed here a night since flight was delayed and didnt catch up the next flight. Free shuttle bus between hotel and airport. Friendly staff. Room is clean and comfortable. Very impressive breakfast. The only thing was we arrived hotel around 9pm but had to wait for an hour for check-in.
I was highly disappointed in this aloft. I could tell this was a older hotel. There was a strange smell Thur out hotel. I smelled cigarettes in my room, pillow was dirty under pillow case, door handle to shower was loose, toilet had low pressure which made it hard to flush and floors were dirty Thur out hotel and room. I’d say they need to upgrade ASAP.
Aside from the dingy- walls, floors, and tapestries- our mattress cover had blood stains. No bed bugs, but there was mold growing in the grout of the shower. It was a dilapidated version of Aloft. Also, the receptionist lacked basic customer service skills.
Overall I had a great experience giving it five stars. The staff was exceptional and when I had an issue they addressed it immediately. The drinks and the food at the hotel was great. I had some barbecue wraps to eat and a few drinks which were exceptional. My main issue was they made a $290.55 hold on my credit card. I was in a room that had a en suite room with loud neighbors and the staff quieted the neighbors. I never heard the airplanes land.I have to say overall the stay was excellent.
