My lawn is highly overgrown, and I was willing to pay more and these people still don’t show up. Rescheduled and they send an email saying they cut the lawn. They did not. Stringing me along for weeks. Completely unprofessional. Poor management and they seem very disorganized. Don’t waste your time with these people

Single handedly the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Do not use the company. My service was rescheduled and delayed for a month straight and there isn’t even a way to talk to your crew except through some stupid chat feature that they never check.

First 3 cuttings were fine but then they didnt show. Takes 5 days to get a response to an email and then only to say they were sorry. Was on the phone for 2 hours before I could speak to someone and they said they would give my message to the supervisor. Nothing happened, no one came to cut the lawn. Now I have an overgrown lawn and have to find someone else . Dont know how they are getting 4 star reviews but if you live in the Philadelphia area I would go elsewhere.

I tried to work with these people for two months to get my lawn cut and trimmed. They had more reasons to not do the job than you get from a teenage babysitter. The thing is they just didnt do this part of the world I guess and it was out of the way for them. Do not use these people. All they do is talk talk talk. Well be there Friday the 6th by noon. Never saw anyone. They are a poor business to work with. Im not even going to post pixs as my grass is getting up there. I an old woman (in my 70s). 68 operations on my back. Good luck to you people. I hope you get back what you put out.

At first my appointment was a week ahead but we rescheduled for the following week. They are on about a two week turnaround for new customers but they more than made up for it by going right to work and clearing our front and back lawn efficiently and for very fair pricing. I would highly recommend if youre in Philadelphia as desperate as were for a reliable service. I forsee a fruitful relationship with my overall experience thus far.

1. Crew never showed up and now its going to rain for four days.2. The website wont let me cancel service because Im supposed to get three cuts first. Of course, the crew needs to show up to get the cuts, and now the grass is long... They better not charge me for that.3. The company doesnt answer their customer service phone.4. I contacted the rep below after he posted his reply, and he never responded. So that seems to just be for appearances.Get your service elsewhere and save yourself all the trouble.

First thing they do is take your credit card info and then never come and cut the lawn . Total scam . It’s been a week and now my lawn is ridiculously high.

Ive had a couple issues with Lawn Starter. In November, for the last mow of the season, the woman quit halfway through and just left.The crew who they placed me with at the beginning of this season didnt mow the left side of my hard the first time, and no-called no-showed the second time.From my experiences, I suppose people just hate being paid. Best solution was to fix my mower and do it myself. Dont waste your money on lawn services.

Have no ideal on how to run a business. First one person is coming, next thing someone else shows up to cut my lawn that my husband had to do. We waited 3 wks until someone showed up. Next the first person gets the job back. We had to wait another three weeks before someone showed up again after calling them again. I received a text from LawnStarters asking for a review from two people who didnt even cut the yard. They arr overpriced for the small yard that they had to cut. Would nevet receive them to anyone

I was told services would start Wednesday or Thursday but no one showed. I called Friday and the woman on the phone said that no contractor was assigned and was not able to tell me even when one would be assigned. She then spoke over me as I tried to get clarification, hung up on me, and then when I called back all I got was a busy message telling me to wait for a callback which I never got.Update:I did have a very nice conversation with management about what occurred. Although nothing could be fixed at this time, I do appreciate the candidness. For that I am giving another star.

Absolutely horrible customer service. I got my first mow scheduled then the crew didn’t show up. Next day got a message from the crew saying they couldn’t come that day either and re-scheduled me for a week later. The grass needed to be cut already. I tried for 3 days to get a hold of someone from LawnStarter on the phone and had no success. I emailed with no reply. I sat in the phone for well over an hour in hold with no answer. I requested multiple call backs that never came. The only interaction I got was messaging on the thumbtack app that just told me to call their numbers that no one answered.I can’t speak to the quality of the actual mowing service but if it’s anything like their customer service, it’s terrible. You’re better off finding a kid in the neighborhood to cut your grass than going through this terrible service.

If I could give them a zero star rating I would. I have had 3 different Gardners in 2months. None of them have been able to show up every 2wks to cut the grass. Then when the grass is tall because they havent cut it in a month, they have the audacity to charge a higher fee. This company is a rip off. They dont even have a company phone to address customer complaints. Thats probably on purpose because they have so many dissatisfied customers.

The first few times were great nowMy last 3 mows were delayed cause of equipment failure also they literally ran over a piece of paper in my hard with there lawn mower and left shards of paper everywhere

I contacted this service about 3or 4 weeks ago to start a recieving regular service every 2 weeks. I was given an a Sunday appointment only to find out theydont work on Sunday, so I called and they apologized and gave me a credit and a new date for service. They never showed up I received a text from a worker the next day, the, rain date saying he was just given the job that afternoon and that he cant come he needed to get his kids and he was booked for the day. So I called again they apologized again and gave me another date they showed up in someone elses yard this was this week. I cancelled my service that I never received. Not to mention your on the phone forever unless you want to create a service just awful.

This is the worst lawn service. They cancelled or rescheduled on me for over a month. Telling me it was going to get done and it never was. I canceled and ended up doing it myself. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Worst lawn service ever.

Very poor customer service. I restarted my service for April and they told me for weeks I was scheduled with a crew to start my service April 19th and then canceled the day of. Said they were reassigning me to another crew and then canceled my service without notice or even coming to cut the grass once after having me wait for weeks. Took me 3 days to get a response from customer service which basically said oh well. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

I had them scheduled to come today to mow my yard. Imagine my surprise when I get am email instead saying they cancelled my service ENTIRELY. Meaning no reschedule, just no service at all. After I was told they had lots of crews in my area and could fit me in no problem. What a joke, now I have to wait another week for another company to be able to get out and do my yard and in the meantime my yard is going to become a jungle. Thanks for nothing, LawnStarter.

If I could give negative 5 stars I would. I booked them in April. They still haven’t mowed my lawn and it’s mid June. They keep rescheduling last minute and refuse to cancel my service. What a nightmare of a company. Stay away!!

They wow you with their ability to change the cutting schedule via their app, which is the only thing that seems to work as expected. The first guy that showed up to cut our lawn was good, but he told me that he was going to drop me since he was not close geographically, and I would be his only customer for miles. The next week, some other guy showed up with a Craftsman 22 mower and did a pretty bad job. He cut it for three weeks and he quit; Lawnstarter had a difficult time finding a replacement. My lawn was normally a Wednesday cut; Friday came and went, and I received messages stating that another crew was being assigned. Someone contacted me stating that they could only do my front, because his mower wouldnt get through my fence. My lawn went to seed and I reached out to Lawnstarter about my concerns. I got a message stating that they would respond within 72 hours.My advice is to forget Lawnstarter and go with whoever is cutting your neighbors lawns.

I requested service and provided my address I was emailed back that they would be servicing my area and to choose a date. I chose Monday April 19th. I received an email that stated they’d be here between Monday April 19th and Tuesday April 20th. Monday I received an email that said my crew was changing and they’re still going to service my lawn on the scheduled times. That I’d receive another email with a crew to serve my area. Tuesday came and NO ONE CAME No email to explain... nothing. I contacted support via email and today get a response that says they were booked and could not service my area. Baloney!!! You originally stated you’d be in my area. You even gave me a window. But Never showed, nor even said why not until I reached out and asked why not??? So unprofessional!!! People please use another service they’re not professional and not reliable!!!

As l explained before with the previous grass cutting, Kareem and his team dont do a good job. The problems are numerous, the grass clippings blanket the entire lawn with clumps and clumps of grass cuttings, many of the cuttings are left in the street and large amounts of grass cuttings are left in the garden beds, covering all the mulch, and green, wet grass marks were left on the walkways.He refuses to use a bag to catch the clippings which is fine, if he were going to rake the lawn or use a better mower... l had to pay someone else to rake up the dead, clumps of grass cuttings., he only had enough time to rake up the front lawn.But, for that area alone he collected a 1/3 of the lawn cuttings in a lawn and garden trash bag.This is not working for me, Lawn Starter doesnt seem to have a screening process because Kareem appears to be just some guy(s) with a lawn mower, a mower that doesnt even have sharp blades.BTW, l have photos.The (2) stars is because the customer service dept. offered a discount or to have the team come back out to fix the issues. I appreciated the offer but have declined.

They appear to be a legit company but dont waste your time. They must be paying ppl to post good reviews because no way this company is reliable. Check BBB. They were investigated because of the the large amount of complaints. I spent the time to register and then set up a time with a CS rep. over the phone and I gave them my payment information. They gave me a 2 day window and a contractor (Im assuming) texted and said they would call me shortly. Never called. Then they texted again and asked me to confirm the service, date and amount. I did that. I texted the next day to find out if they would be out and they send me a generic message saying for any questions call CS. Called CS and didnt get anyone or a return call. Called back the day the grass was supposed to be cut and was transferred to another person who also didnt answer but they did eventually call back. I explained that I just need confirmation of the appointment and they said yes someone would be out that day. Checked the app a couple hours later and it said no service in your area while I was told that they would be out that day. Dont waste your time. Wasted 2 days waiting for nothing when I could have found a reliable company to do the work.

The crew that was assigned to me was very rude, unprofessional and impatient. They asked me to move my vehicle so they can park theirs. I was about moving my vehicle when they started shouting that they dont have time for this and drove off sending me message that they will come back at my next appointment date which is in two weeks.

They continually miss appointments. The website currently has an upcoming service scheduled five days in the past.

Spent about half an hour on the phone with a rep going over my mowing and weeding needs. Told me someone would come out Monday and took my credit card information. First thing Monday morning I get an email that they dont service my area. Why waste my time and take my card info then?!

The have not returned my calls or cut my grass!

Set up a day for them to cut my grass. They had even taken my credit card information. Never showed up. When I first looked at their ad it gave a quote. Then they started texting and calling. Youd think that when they didnt show up to cut my grass they could have either texted or called. Nope. They sent an email which I didnt see till later. They are totally unprofessional and cowards to not have called me to let me know they werent coming. I cant imagine anyone using this service.

Lawnstarter accepted a request to perform lawn services. Then a day before we were supposed to have our lawn cut they stated they couldnt perform the service.

Worst service ever experienced with this company. Several times crew is assigned to come and cut grass and never showed up. Haven’t had my lawn mowed in three weeks. My poor dog can barely walk through it to go do her business. I don’t know what the problem is. I will be so glad when the summer is over so I will be done with this aggravation!!! Horrible!!!!

What a disaster! Projectiles from the commercial grade lawn mower totally destroyed my vinyl fence and vinyl siding! Holes everywhere! $1,500 damage and no accountability! Worse deal ever! Get a lawyer

The app and concept is great... However, my lawn tech was very lazy and would never cut my lawn low enough. I was wasting money, because I always had to go behind him and do everything again. Trimming was the worst. Then the guy quoted me $300 to cut outside of my lawn, I paid another pro $80 for the same job.

The service that I have received from LawnStarter has always been positive. The customer service is responsive within a reasonable amount of time, there are several discounts that you can claim on services, the lawn specialists are prompt and leave your property in the same condition with a neat and manicured lawn. I’ve been using the service since the Spring and I intend to keep it throughout the rest of the season.

Very professional and responsive. If you need to make a change to your service they are very accommodating and quick to respond.

I went on Thumbtack to find a new lawn service company and one of the quotes I received was from a company called LawnStarter Lawn Care Service. The offer was for $39 plus $10 to bag and haul away clippings. I made several attempts to contact them through Thumbtack, but no one answered. I finally called directly and after a minute or so a person answered the phone. I told her I was trying to contact them through Thumbtack, but no one answered. She begins to tell me they have no affiliation with Thumbtack and its just an advertisement site. I said that was funny because you sent me a quote and your office responded to reviews on Thumbtack. She quoted me a price of $45.95 which included a surcharge. I said no, you gave me a price of $39 plus $10 for bagging and hauling away the clippings. She said she was confused. I was blown away at that response. I was born in the U.S. and speak perfect English, so I couldnt understand what she didnt get. She then went back the the $45.95 and asked if I wanted to make an appointment. I said no I dont think so because you have to honor the price on Thumbtack. She then hung up on me. This is not a company that stands behind anything and they obviously hire idiots as well.

They were coming ok for the first couple times. Now they are just non-responsive and not showing up. There is no way to call and actually get ahold of someone. Unreliable

Jealousy and selfishness ruined a great relationship. Dont ever work for this fraudulent entity. Theyll cut u off when u wanna get more money than their willing to obtain from a customer. When the people at Lawnstarter who make decisions learn Labor and material cost and truly working in the field than maybe theyll want to make money instead of being limitation cheapskates.

My husband has always cut our grass, but in early June he had a stroke. I found LawnStarter on Neighborhood and signed up. They sent Robert and without a doubt he goes over & above. Excellent service I will continue to use them next year. Now if only they offered snow removal!

I get my back and front lawn done through Lawn Starter by Yuriy who is awesome when it comes to my lawn. You usually see 2 to 3 guys doing a lawn but Yuriy does it alone and it comes out looking great. They are definitely a 5 star company.

Lawn Starter is a relatively new techie start up lawn care service. The company still has a long way to go with developing policies that withstand accountability. Lawn Starter lacks cohesiveness in terms of making sure its professional lawn contractors have the right information for the duration of jobs. In the Lawn Starter app, clients give details of what type of lawn care is sought such as front lawn mow, front and back lawn mow, etc. Trouble is details unwittingly change or become unlisted on scheduled job dates, and unless the contractor takes a print screen shot, clients will try to get more services than their bid $ cover. For example, a client may have originally requested a front lawn mow on the intial set of app details when a job is excepted by contractor. The next time contractor reviews details, all listing of front lawn mow has been removed, but bid $ remain the same. Contractor does front lawn mow and then client complains back lawn was not cut! Yet the payout $ would be too far below average for a combination of front and back lawn services. Contractors, be weary of this company until their policies have become better developed. Although Lawn Starter has some potential, at the current rate, its speed of lawn care business practices is subpar in reference to the needs of more advanced lawn care professionals. Contractors simply looking for extra work on the side may find Lawn Starter a good fit. But, more advanced contractors would be taking steps backward with its current business model. This company appears to consider its contractors as dispensable. The company has a wishy-washy app that easily causes miscommunications, confusion and allows patrons who purchase the service to be dishonest with contractors or harm contractor reputations while grossly under paying for services. Unfortunately, in its current state of business practices, Lawn Starter is more of a headache for advanced lawn care providers than it is a solution.
