Healing and peace are found here. Also reality checks for lost and stranded souls. It helps folks put the drugs/booze down if not away, and is forgiving enough to help establish a connection to feelings of self-worth. Sometimes homeless people actually matter.

My first night wasnt a good experience, but what do you expect? Its a place to be and sleep when its cold and raining outside, plus they feed you which I dont wait for. A lot of the people that complains have mental illness. Its not a hotel, nowhere near that. Lets not forget where we were a day ago. Out in the streets. Im humble and grateful.

I stayed there for 2 days. The food was ok. They make a effort to feed everyone. The staff needs to be trained dealing with people. I felt like i was in a halfway house and not a Christian shelter. The accommodations for sleeping where you can lay your head. But keep your personal property in your pocket, or close by. The owner has a huge job just keeping the building running. I hope that everyone finds a balance seeking Christ, and you will be blessed.

Pay that star no attention. I had to give it to give this review. Sunday breakfast Rescue Mission, is a place that nightmares are made of. Being a long time advocate and lobbyists for the homeless stretching from the mid-80s to date. I have never and all my Years of Living been subjected suck to such deplorable and reprehensible conditions. Do yourself a favor. Go to 802 North Broad. Do what they tell you to do. No excuses! But above all! REFUSE TO GO TO THE SUNDAY MORNING BREAKFAST MISSION!!!

For our Day of Service on MLK Day, my employees spent a couple of hours sorting through donations. The place is nice with lots to offer. They really enjoyed their time giving back by dedicating their time. My only concern was a young woman named Jasmine who gave us a tour of the facility. She allowed my staff to visit the day room (I believe it was) where the men gathered to keep from being out in the cold. It was extremely intrusive and unfair to the men in that room. A few men also said some inappropriate things to my staff as they are all women. In my opinion, the tour should end before visiting that room for the safety of everyone, respect of the individuals there and to give the men who need these services privacy. Melissa is amazing though and we were really sad that she was out sick that day!

Its one of those places you dont want to be in. I went there to volunteer. I noticed there are mice running around everywhere. Drug deals are being done outside. Customer service is very bad and they treat everyone like a prisoner. I hope you are never in a situation to where your homeless, but if you do get to that then i recommend going somewhere else. Crimes and fights happen in there everyday. Be carefull.

Okay I am very greatful and thankful but to be perfectly HONEST I was lied to about the meal being Beef when in Fact it was very much so pork I stated over and over that I do not eat Pork maybe my Dhikr beads gave it away but they insisted on feeding me pork and lieing to me and my Mother about it being pork not only did they continue to try and convincing me it was beef when I knew it was not when I went to ask for something else like a penut butter sandwich they told me that there was nothing else I did not eat it because I did not trust them the volunteer got angry with me and asked me what did I mean when I asked her could she give me a sandwich just in case it was pork she made me feel like I had no choice that I had to eat it when in fact I did have a choice but this was a religious organization that cleary did not respect my beliefs nor did they keep it 💯 if there were 0 stars I would rate them a Capital 0 not ok my Mother got 😷 from eating the pork and I am not happy about this because these places like this feel as if they have the power to lie about this because they are feeding the people but in fact they had no right to treat me nor anybody like this the power and control of abuse has got to stop just because people are homeless you have no right to treat them with good ol fashioned Respect & Dignity in that order

They say that they take things serious that things are bad ... for so long ... they still stay the same. Click thumbs up if you care seriously & for people in need. They brake there own rules here. They are beyond rude & cuss & call people stupid. They have little to no respect & will at a whim fail to give belongings back, in the morning after breakfast & tell you to show up at six PM. If your a little past that, like 10 min. they tell people to stay out & they loose there bed. Philadelphia & the internet do not tell the truth on what most people face in all reality & lie like many places. I will say this, 42yrs & with approximately 4 decades of experience with homelessness off and on. People who may experience abusive living situations may be lost. The Unites States has little honor or just dignities for the majority of abused, disabled, those in recovery and / or homeless. Civil law is, & has been far to difficult & weak to come close to justice for those afflicted with these adversities. The war on terror has failed. So far the same threats still exist strong to this day. There is no pill to fix this, or shrink talk to a solve. There is no prayer to help. Thats keeping it real. It is not godly here. People using religious talk to hide from the truth & real work. God helps those who help them selves & there people. It truly saddens me to see & know that there are so many people whos ideologies have left so many with no hope & no homes & next to no justice. To many fakes, too many flakes. So many dead & lost & forgotten, also in accidents because the leadership was educated to idiocracy & oppressions. The ultimate down. It is not wise to think our leadership will go far beyond there educations. People who, when a challenge presents its self, that say I cant do anything about that. I dont have the power. seem to get little to nothing done to make the real differences necessary to count, to make the USA great again. There is no excuse for such evils. To many people going bad & hardly going anywhere fast. Is the work of our times. Spread to thin, not in gear, not working. Equals future failure. Equals disease as an epidemic of, dose not work. We as a people must go the distances necessary for real successes for a brighter tomrrow & not kick people when there down or... Coming up.Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. quote from Martin Luther King Jr.

It is a shelter where they take anyone whom come if you have nice things and they are clean, they will steal your things . The staff is not friendly at all and they lie and still your things they stole clothes and my bible with my information in it . Please pray for these men and women that has no choice but to live their in this dirty place .The workers are there for a pay check. They dont care about the people, if you try to call the shelter you will have a hard time reaching them . The staff has assets to all your thing because they are lock behind a gate they are the biggest thiefs and will tell you no one steal there who do they think they are lying to my child is no longer there and he is doing much better I use to donate they took all my child name brand shirts and deodorant new underwear, undershirts. and socks some of these thing was not new at all they still took them .. God bless the thief for my stealing my bible I pray they are using it to learn the way of the lord . l use to donate money and my daughter because they need all the help they can get, I no longer donate to this shelter any more it does so much for staff to look me in my face and lie to me all they had to do was keep their mouth close . I am not a theif I would try to help anyways possible. God Blessing.

Im confused because somebody said that I could eat lunch if I arrive before 12:30 pm. I am not from philadelphia, I got here on christmas day at 12pm from a bad break up and was starving. a guy with a lanyard id said that he wasnt letting anyone else in for lunch. I asked if I should wait until 12:30 and he said no, go find somewhere else to eat. a guy outside said that his name was love, I said no way. I read on their facebook that this was supposed to be a Christian shelter, again no way.this Christian shelter refused us guys outside a meal on Christmas day.

I wish I could give zero stars, my boyfriend had to live here for a while and this place does not care about any of your needs they are not bound by the protocols of the city so they take that as a opportunity to treat less fortunate people any way they please. Showers stop at 9, no matter if its raining or really cold out the residents MUST leave every morning a 7am even if you work, they dont house anyone that works overnight, they kick you out the building on national holidays such as Christmas and the staff there are homeless men themselves living on the premises and are only concerned with securing their own bed, its nasty, they dont feed you good and its the closest thing to being in jail. Please never send anyone here, and if you know someone who lives here get them out asap as their situation can only get worse here. Crazy, they claim to be a Christian based organization, yeah...ok.

There are bugs and mice. A few members of the staff need re-evaluations. They treat people like they are beneeth them they use the shield of the Lord to power Trip and bully some of the homeless residents. Theres a member of Staff named Rob he likes to bully women and people he thinks are weak. My guess is hes hiding out from someone he pretends hes handicapped so no one will punch him out. The chaplins always take his side like they are afraid of him, If you question them they will put you outside and not feed you. I appreciate what they do but what about what the Bible says about how to treat others? God sees everything...

Supposedly I went to Sunday breakfast as an agent of help for shelter during a breakup with my wife & was in urgent need, however while at this shelter one night I found myself spitting blood in the bathroom as one night shift overseer who was placed there to watch the residents during our sleep came rushing to my aide,as he concluded I needed urgent medical help and proceeded to call an ambulance.i was admitted for 13 days in the I.c. u to discover my lung had collapsed and only had hours before I would pass away!!!! I will go on a first name bases to protect his privacy. This hero who goes unrecognized first name is vern I owe him and Sunday breakfast my life and am grateful for how they run and operate the facility.this last week a gentleman was experiencing a seizure as this same individual Vern once again came rushing thru the isle while others slept he was once again saving a life.i can go on and on.Hopefully this unsung hero will be recognized by someone and although he does not look for that he deserves everyones respect and gratitude for both a job well done and a heart as big as all outdoors.Thank You Vern, Sunday breakfast and most of all God for placing me in their Care..Nephtali Andujar a humble servant.

Got a case of Body lice from staying here temporarily. Had to delay moving into apartment until I got rid of infestation. This place is very unsanitary, and rules change day by day depending on staff. It is like a three ring circus when you are trying to sleep. It is very noisy until about 1am and they keep the lights on at night. You are not supposed to have food in sleeping quarters, but people are selling food, cigarettes, and other items.

Dont go to this place. There are people here who will beat and rob you. If you do decide to go here, beware of a thin white girl who dresses in a blue hoodie sweatshirt who goes by the name Christina or Christine. She sets people up to get them robbed, claming that they stole her property, and she sends men to beat on you. Dont go to 13th and peral (the entrance to this place).
