I will admit I was a little wary at first, since I have never gone through a temp agency before, but I was quickly put at ease. The Philly Temps team was extremely responsive and helpful. This isnt a factory. Its a small office, and there are actual people there with names and faces who will sit down and talk about your needs, interests and professional background. Their staffing agents were always available and genuinely committed to finding something that would fit my personality. They were able to accurately represent and even promote my professional skills to employers.I was looking for both immediate part-time work and full-time placement. They provided both. Within a week, I was working a catering job and making money. I was always provided with a lot of information so I knew exactly what to expect when entering a new assignment.Because of their timeliness and care, I was able to (quickly) land a great full-time, salaried (with benefits) position as a legal secretary which I have held now for over a year!I have recommended Philly Temps to several friends for temp and temp to perm work and will continue to do so. Philly Temps offers placement in administrative settings and catering. I was placed within 1 week for my first catering assignment. I love Philly Temps because you can work as much or as little as you want. It is perfect for college students or a parent like myself who has to work around your partners schedule. If you are reliable and available to work, they will keep you busy! I also enjoy the variety of working with different catering companies in many different settings. It gives you a good feel for the industry and you never get bored. The staff at Philly Temps are friendly, organized and accommodating. They always ask how the assignment went and if there were any issues which need addressed with the catering company. They truly want to make your experience enjoyable and make sure you are being treated fairly. The owner has come to several events (on a weekend!) to personally meet the staff, which says a lot about her commitment and involvement in the company. I would highly recommend this agency for anyone who is looking for fast placement and ongoing assignments in the catering industry.
The employee a large white man was rude and trite. He immediately asked if I read their website and did not take my resume, but informed me I would have to fax my resume. He asked about my experience and became irritated with my response. The employee ushered me out door with a small strip of paper. I would not recommend this staffing agency. The lack professionalism most likely extends to the companies Philly Temps services.
Philly Temps is a great agency. First their employees are friendly from Lori who handles the checks to Alexa who put on me on assignments to John and Tina who I have also worked with.I reached out to Philly Temps after seeing an ad on Craigslist. I sent my resume and got an email pretty quickly. I then took a prove it test and came in for an interview. The interview was pretty much standard and Alexa was very welcoming and thorough in explaining everything. She tried to get me an assignment that week, and the next week I was working. This was the fastest placement ever that I received at a temp agency. My situation was unique, and I wasnt really expecting too much so they exceeded my expectations.The assignments that I have been on or been offered have all fit exactly what I was looking for, the pay was good and they were at nice places.I do wish they offered direct deposit, but most of my assignments have been near the office, plus they are open early and will mail your checks.I recommend them to my family and my friends, and to all of you reading this as well.
I got hired with Philly Temps over the summer and was only presented with three work assignments, one per month. They had more job postings on their website but nothing new came up for the whole summer. I do not think they have a lot of assignments but use those to attract potential employees. The overall company was nice and the people were also nice.
Philly Temps was the first job I got after completing my undergrad. My first assignment was the move in of students, it was a great experience, the day was long and the work was hard but I truly had a great time. Soon after that assignment I began working conventions and catering. The experience working a wide range of events relative to academia, community, social, hospitality, and much more was the best part.The staff at Philly temps are very friendly and honest. They have always done a great job preparing the employees for events, and informing us on what the event might expect.Not every assignment will be exciting and not every assignment promises good hours and good money, however, if you are reliable, friendly, and ready to work to will find yourself a perfect fit here. I was blessed to go from a temp position into the full time position I am currently working. I am happy that I can count on them whenever I need some extra cash.
The staff at Philly temps are great! The assignments are always local and the pay is pretty good. They have carpools available for those who do not drive and the hours are usually not too late (2am -). I would recommend them to anyone in the food service/catering industry who is looking for part time work at reputable companies in the Philadelphia area.

I truly value the experience I gained from working at Philly Temps.If I could recommend anything to the job hunters out there, make sure your resume and cover letter is proofread. Most times, people wont take you seriously if you dont represent yourself in a well manner. Take the time to make it perfect so that Philly Temps can take the time to find you something perfect!

Philly Temps is the reason I currently hold a full time position at my current company. I did convention center and university move in work, satisfied with the jobs. There isnt always work available, but the assignments are great for someone entry-level.
I cant say enough about Philly Temps. Whenever I have been in a tight position trying to find work, they have been able to help me out. They have found me temporary positions that have turned permanent, and I owe them the current position that I hold now. I have never had any bad experiences with anyone at Philly Temps; the staffing managers are all friendly, and very willing to help you. I especially want to bring light to Alexa, who has gone out of her way to help me. I think if you are willing to put the work, in i.e. work on your resume, and have a good, positive attitude, and willing to work, Philly Temps is the place for you. The one thing that I would change is the option of direct deposit, which is not an option; however, I understand the reason for this, but it does get inconvenient sometimes. With that said, they do the best they can, but ultimately it is up to you to make the best impression on the employers that they have contacts with, remember they are putting themselves at risk, just as much as you, so dont forget to put your best foot forward!
Started out catering, then applied for an Administrative position. Stayed at that position for 9 months until the company hired me. I love my new job and have Philly Temps to thank! Will be returning shortly for more part time catering work!

When i was looking for a temp job with best sfter one week mo call back so the second week i called them who ever answer the phone was so very un pleasant and told me duh didnt you get a clue we dont want you to work for us no more which i think i should have been talk to.better than this and young lady i know ask for a job and i told her give best a call the young lady told me that she talk to so rude.if they had a job no way she even take yhe job ! Best needs to hive thier personal class on how to talk to people t on the telephone or.they will surely lose business
July 2014Alexa Bogan (Staffing manager) provided absolute terrible services. Do not have the resources they claim to have, as youll rarely be interviewed for actual positions.Be cautious when choosing this particular staffing agency.
Phone representative was very rude and spoke with a condescending tone. I would not recommend using this agency.
When I called there and the receptionist was very rude. I was taken by surprise by his behavior. I told him never mind and I will be reporting this company.
