The best decision my daughter made was investing in her basement and outside perimeter of her house. As I look back she was hesitant to spend the money on a project that no one would notice but her. The money was well spent! With the help of Josh and his amazing hard-working team, she decided to move forward. This is probably the most important project she will do in her home. Water creates problems. A musty smelly basement which permeates to your upstairs living area. Mold spreads quickly and can cause health issues. Once she got the basement remediated she realized there was more to do. Her house was situated at the bottom of her neighborhood. Water was flooding her property and could eventually ruin her foundation. Joshs guys created a 16-18 trench around the front of her house sending all the water away from and off her property. This company was great. When hiring contractors it often feels like trying to solve a mystery about everything from price, to timeline, to how to get them on the phone. Not the case with this company!Phil came out explained exactly what the coats would be for each piece of the job from repair through restoration after we had flooding. The price was very reasonable and work for started right away. When an unexpected issue came up that had to be addressed before repairs could continue, we were given multiple options at different price points to fix it. At no time were decision points made into high pressure sales pitches.Our contractor Jose was reliable, professional, and respectful of our home. Bonnie who worked with scheduling the work was easy to reach whenever we needed. Hopefully I never have issues in my basement again but I would hire basement gurus without hesitation if I did.

Top quality company. A huge team of people arrived, they were working in like 10 minutes and I must say the best part was how well they had all the jobs organized. I think we counted about 16 people total, and everyone was doing their thing, no one was slacking. What others told us 3 days, they did in just one day, cleaned everything perfectly like they were not even there. After they were done, they did a walk through with me and my wife to go over every part of the basement. They did a full perimeter drain system, two pumps with backup units, enclosures on walls, air treatment, ozone treatment, etc. Highly recommend.

**update** yes, they did come back and fix our issue. However, the owner had said he’d get me a corrected quote on a concrete patio, which was one thing they were originally supposed to do. I sent him photos and never heard back. I had already made my review better, so I guess he no longer had a reason to follow through on his word.Great customer service. Our window well is installed with proper grading and we’re confident we will not have future water issues.

I cannot provide a 5-star rating as I previously assumed.PRO: For installing an interior French drain, while it was pouring rain outside, the crew was extremely clean. Both my yard and interior of my house was left with only minor evidence of the work.PRO: The initial consultation with Phil Thistle was informative and provided me with piece of mind in terms of the project and projected outcome. It seemed as though we would have support throughout the project.PRO: Owen Dan Kelly is very dedicated to the quality of his company and the work they do. Once he found out about some of the concerns I had with the project, he remedied them immediately. I was very impressed with the attention he provides his customers.CON: Communication. Up to the install, I was in constant contact with the company about timing and expectations. However, as soon as the install began and then directly after, I was on my own. There seemed to be no one overseeing the install, just the crew doing the work. Also, there were miscommunications about the project throughout the install; the crew was asking me for direction on installation steps I have no background on.CON: Support. Again, as soon as the install was complete, that was it. Phil showed me images of pictures he took with satisfied customers on past installs, making me feel that he was dedicated to the projects success. However, after the consultation, even though he was copied on various emails about some of my concerns, he never got back in touch. In addition, no one ever contacted me to see if I had questions about the finished product, to see how everything turned out, or if there was anything else I needed.CON: Timing. The crew was on-time for the install both days, however, the schedule was more impactful to my familys routine than expected. The crew worked 9AM - 3PM only on Day 1. However, to finish in 2 days, they worked 8:30AM - 7:30PM on Day 2. As I have a small child, having construction still happening after 7:30PM was difficult, but more so was confusing as Day 1 ended so early.

Came out for a quote on a basement leak and they told me the cause of the leak wasn’t from the basement and went over in detail what may be causing it and how to remedy it myself or recommended the appropriate contact to have someone else address it. Very professional and trustworthy, I will definitely be using them for my basement waterproofing project in the future

We had a really bad storm and my basement had water all over the place, I called a few places but Basement Gurus where there the next day. When I met with Dan Kelly for the estimate he was on time, wore his mask and we did a walk-through inside the basement and outside the perimeter of my home. He asked me exactly what I would like done and how Basement Gurus could help. Dan offered me different options, was very informative and showed me what materials they use compare to others. We sat down and reviewed the cost of options and set the install date, he also mentioned that they had a finance option in case I needed it. Dan was very professional, treated me like if we knew each other for years and NOT pushy at all to sell me on his product. Once the date was set, his crew came in early in the morning and was done the same day. Very happy with my decision, not had a leak since and have peace of mind. We had water issues in the basement for 8 years. Basement Gurus completed a french drain in my entire basement in one day. After a couple of heavy rainstorms, the basement stayed dry. The pumps did their job. The owner is very professional, and the workers are very courteous. if you are having water issues in your basement, I would recommend this company to anyone. BasementGurus are truly the gurus. We did 2 projects with them and we were satisfied with both of the jobs. Ashley (the inspector) who came out to quote us was very nice and understood our problems, she had a solution for us right away and walked us through the process in detail. They have reasonable pricing and they provide financing as well. The workers were really mindful of everything and finished their jobs with perfection and made sure we were satisfied. We did basement waterproofing and were really satisfied with the work so we also decided to get our second project done with them which was to stop water coming in the house from backyard and removing our shed and deck. They provided all the services and cleaned up everything nicely. Ashley Dougherty was always just a text away and ready to help us and made sure we got everything done the way we wanted. All the staff was really nice, the finance department and scheduling department were always ready to help and answer questions. We had severe water damage in our basement, and it can be very stressful with the mold and smell with kids in the house. These guys came out and were very professional, and very quick getting the job done while not interrupting our “work from home” routines.

Recently purchased a home that had a sump, but with water intrusion. The sump had no french drain to it, and pump was not functional. Installed french drains around the perimeter and to relocated sump (previous location was in the way of shelving). Crew worked quickly and efficiently.

One of the best experiences I have had as a homeowner, hands down.In February 2020, we had a flood in our basement due to a clog in the sewage pipe. At the time, we did not realize that this had caused mold to spore. Our home started to have a strange smell and soon we made a realization that we had to do something about it.We remembered that we had previously been given a quote for waterproofing and mold remediation by the Basement Gurus (following excellent work we had done by Roof Gurus). They did not pressure us to do anything or try to up-sell. There was no icky/slimy sales rep feeling. Just natural, human connection with the customer’s best interest in mind.These guys came in and gave us service at a fraction of the cost and ten times the friendliness of the larger competitors - no price gouging. Whenever I think of a home project, I will think of the Gurus (Roof Gurus, Basement Gurus etc.). When I met with Dan Kelly for the estimate he was on time, wore his mask properly the entire time and was very informative of his and other similar products on the market. We examined the entire basement together and he showed me what I needed and why. He also told me what did not need that other companies were pushing for. Finally he mentioned things I could do to divert water from outside the house if I wanted added security. Then we sat down and reviewed the cost of options and set the install date. The experience with Basement Gurus was really good from beginning to end. The man who came out and inspected the basement was very clear with what needed to be done and why. What he proposed for our wet basement was much more thorough and practicle than than the competition. I did much google research and found out that the approach the Basement Gurus took for the trench was indeed the solution that worked (digging an 11 trench instead of setting the grate down an in or two from the floor). The man who sold me came back and walked through everything again with my son, which was good. So I went with BG. They got me in quickly. The day came and I was shocked. They had 11 hardworking men in the basement and completed the job in a single day. They even did a couple extra things or me that was MUCH appreciated. They cleaned up well and left the place much better than they found it. Now on the next day the basement is even starting to lose that musty, moldy smell. Thank you Basement Gurus. You are THE BOMB!

For anyone looking to get waterproofing done in their home:I moved into my house about two years ago and would get floods in my basement during every storm. I tried to fix it myself environmentally, but failed in my attempts. I then decided to finally fix the problem and get my basement waterproofed. Being relatively new to Delaware, I put in a request to get free estimates. I had a few companies come out to look at it and narrowed my choices down. I was down to Basement Waterproofing Specialists (BWS) and Basement Gurus. The difference was the representative from Basement Gurus had a more natural approach and took the time to ask numerous questions, as the other representatives asked little to no questions. The Basement Gurus representative suggested to fix internally AND externally, plus they even added a lateral system in my basement. No other company felt to even thought of a lateral systems or external drainage, or to even ask about it. I could not speak more highly of the representative and his team at Basement Gurus, they took the time to explain every step and the process before and during the installation to keep me involved with what was going on. The crew was extremely polite and respectful of my house, they were very efficient and they did not play games for lack of a better word. lol The very next day we had heavy rains, which I was excited to test out my waterproofing system! During and after it rained there was not even a single drop of water in my basement or laundry room. The representative even had his team remove and replace all of the studs that had become moldy and also put in new mold resistant drywall. Had an appointment for 2:30 and after 20 minutes I called, when I heard back about the guy who was supposed to give my estimate he said he got caught up with a customer had to finish up then it would be about a 40 minute drive which at this point would make him over an hour late. This may not have been as big of a deal if they didnt already cancel last minute on me the week before. Two weeks in a row now wasted when I could have had another company come out.
