Great haircut not 1 complaint. Ed will get you looking sharp
Great place!!!! Ed is great at what he does. Never disappointed with the outcome of my haircuts or my childrens hair cuts.
Sasha Moon recently started here. I love her cuts and the shoppe has a very chill, calm vibe. Really like it here
Always a great cut.
This is a great barber shop, the prices are very good. Ed knows what he is doing, I trust him with my hair. He is very professional and treats everyone in a respectful manner. The ambiance of this barber shop feels great and chill. I recommend this place.
Ive yet to find a better barbershop in Philly. The staff is amazing, friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled.Ed is an awesome person.Ive seen them give warm welcomes to literally everyone who walks through their doors, no matter who they are.I wish there were more stars I could give them.
Ed gives you a great cut, and u leave feeling like part of the family.Excellent Service
These guys are the best! Family-run business that is VERY busy so they do their best to accommodate everyone, but can’t always do so. If you want to get your hair cut by these master barbers you need to get there early and/or be prepared to wait a while. With the high quality you get for the low price, it’s definitely worth the wait. Plan it into your schedule (or make an appointment on the weekend) and you won’t be disappointed!
The haircut was nice and I got a lot of compliments on it. Ed was really nice and really knowledgeable about the area. I definitely plan on stopping by again.
First time going. Walk-in. Was immediately greeted. Haircut was exactly what I asked for. Price was reasonable. I got lucky finding parking out front. Not sure how parking is all the time though, it looks like it could be difficult depending on day and time. Definitely returning.
Jay is the only barber that’s ever given me such a solid cut. He’s got such an attention to detail and is really trying to make you look the best you can. Can’t recommend him enough.
Haircut took longer than expected but that was just because of next level attention to detail. Friendly family vibes. $25 for a cut. Would recommend
Excellent barber shop! They just moved one building down and the look of the shop is great too. It is a very relaxed atmosphere. Very happy with my haircut and Ill definitely be back.
Very friendly environment with friendly staff. Haircuts are great and at a great price. Appointments are also accepted for an appointment fee.
Best barbershop on Girard ave. Old school style for the new school. Ed and his crew are super talented and very welcoming. Go in looking like a caveman and leave looking like 007. These guys are sharp!
The moment I walked in and was offered a beer. I dropped my previous barber. The wait is worth it. They take their time with cutting your hair rather than rushing through to make sure their next appointment gets done. Cant wait to get to know the owner and workers. Friendly environment and makes you feel like you are hanging out with the bros.
So I Google what was the best barber shop in Philly and ended up here..went inside and the lady said it will be a hour wait I said thats fine....so a few minutes goes by and two barbers became available once they were finish cutting the last person....and I waited for about 10 minutes and not one of them said you can come over here sir no they decide to play around with each other and play in there phones and then before that a man came in after me which was probably 15 minutes before I came in and he got serve before I did and Im just clueless like why....I dont know if it was cause Im black or something I dont know but I will not be returning to this shop at all.....
I love this place. I have gone to get my hair cut and my eyebrows shaped over 5 times by this point. At first I would get my hair cut with whoever was available, but now I tend to cut my hair with Meg. My experience with everyone has been great but Meg has been helping me with my longer hair journey! My partner also gets his haircut here and usually gets great haircuts. The only times he hasnt been super satisfied is due to him being unsure about what he wants. Overall we are both extremely satisfied with this place. On a social note, I am a very awkward person who doesnt particularly enjoy interacting with others. Thats one of the reasons I really enjoy this place. I never feel pressured to join the discussion in the group but always feel welcome to contribute if I want to.I have two negatives which arent really negatives. The first is the price. A haircut costs $25 plus tip. Although this seems up to par with the other places nearby, Im originally from Puerto Rico where the price for a haircut is usually $13-16 plus tip, so the price change is a little jarring. Its not a big deal when you consider the quality of the haircut.Another possible negative is the wait time. If you are a walk in, it is not uncommon to wait 1 to 2.5 hours for your haircut. Thats how thorough and popular they are. I suggest you do what I do. Go to the barbers shop and sign up, then go get breakfast or do some shopping. Theyll call you when your turn is coming up.Overall, great place for a great cut.
Went back for the first time in 3-months. Ed’s got a whole new roster of barbers (new to the shop, not new to the profession).I haven’t seen them all work, but I would absolutely trust anyone Ed puts on.Get there early otherwise you’ll be waiting.
I had a decent service last time I was at this place, I think the barbers fine but the place isnt very professional. Told the wait would be around 2 hrs. I left and came back 2 hr later still told to wait 2 more hours. at this point I just left. It just seems like the place isnt professionally ran. I ended up spending my money at a different place.
Cash only. Great atmosphere, fantastic barbers. The wait is a bit long but definitely worth it. Brian hooked me up with a great cut and shave. Plus theres free beers and shots that are given out. Might make this my regular place.
Called at 10, no answer, got a text around 1 from Jay saying they were open. Asked if he was busy, said he was going to lunch and would be back at 330, I showed up at 335, waited outside the locked door til 415, dude hadnt come back yet. Thanks for wasting my time.
The real-deal old school. Great barbers. Family-owned. Great price. The waits are usually long and the barbers take their time, so block out a few hours of your day and enjoy the experience.
Great atmosphere with even better barbers. They now have four chairs, but can still get busy before big holidays and such. Dont hesitate though
I went in on a Wednesday night to get a cut and had the pleasure of having 3 barbers put their years of experience and expertise cut my hair. One of the best cuts that I have ever had. Great spot if you live in the north philly area.
Ed is a great guy and fantastic barber. He even gave me some awesome advice on how to style my hair. Felt like I had a new friend when I left.
Good haircuts but... the desk would probably be better off if it was run by monkeys, no call back twice now, first time was 3 hours, whats the sense of signing a sheet if it doesnt get used no call back. Its a shame would be a nice experience if it wasnt managed like a Chinese fire drill. Oh almost forgot...when you finally had enough and decide to call back to see what is going on the employee says that you gave the wrong phone number, the same number mind you that youve had for lets say I dont know 12 years, again...shame.
Great shop with very nice guys. I could see how the line would stack up quickly, but I was seen in a very reasonable time and I love the cut. My new favorite spot
Ive been coming here for a few years now, wait times on weekends are a little crazy but Ive consistently gotten excellent hair cuts here. $20 for a good haircut and supporting a local business is worth waiting for. Plus theres a bar across the street for long weekend waits.
The dude gave me the worst cut of my lIfe. He was clearly an amateur and it was so bad that the barber next to him had to take a break from his dude to fix me up the best he could.
Super clean, great conversations and haircuts.
When I walked into Eds, I knew that I was in the right place immediately by the amount of guys waiting for their turn for a haircut. I waited for about 45 minutes, which is not to bad if the cut is worth it, and it was. I had not had a haircut in about 6 months, and my beard had not been trimmed in about 4 months. Ed had a tough customer in me, especially since I am very particular about my appearance, specifically my beard. Ed took his time, making sure he did exactly what I was asking for. He was making friendly conversation with me all the while, telling me about his family and his outreach to troubled young men, and asked me about my upcoming marriage and things of the sort. I knew he had his family waiting for him to get home, and I felt bad about keeping him there about 30 minutes past closing time, but he was determined to give me a great cut and trim no matter how long it took. The service was some of the best I have experienced in quite a while, and everyone who left after their cut did so with a smile and a sharp look! Thanks to Ed for restoring me to dapper status!
Best barbers in Fishtown, consistently great haircuts and all around friendly and good people.
Always worth the wait! You can now make an appointment but i like old school comradery of drinking a beer while you wait your turn. The barbers are masters of their craft. Classic cuts or modern styles Eds will not disappoint.
My preferred barber in the area. Ed and company always do an excellent job at a reasonable price. That reputation means calling ahead or stopping in to sign up in advance for sure: theyre usually pretty slammed, but theyre worth it
Nice Barber shop. I loved my haircut. The reasons for 3 stars instead of 5 is that it is cash only and the pricing was wrong. I looked up on there website before going. It stated the price at 15$. After I got my haircut they told me it was 20$. When asking about the price on the website, they told me I need to follow them on Facebook to get the right pricing.....
Walked in, told them what I wanted, they did it, and it was $13. Honestly, probably the best haircut Ive ever had. Quick and inexpensive which you dont see very often in Philly, especially for classic style haircuts. This can count as two reviews because I suggested Eds to my roommate, and he had the same sentiment that I do.
This is now twice I have left work early to get a haircut but Ed has closed shop earlier than his posted hours. Done going here.
They are great my honey needed a cut while we were on vacation. Nate and Ed took care of him everytime we would come through to philly. They gave him exactly what he wanted he only paid $25 which was including tip. If I ever come to Pennsylvania I will only expect the best for my fiance and make sure he gets the freshest cut possible. Thanks Guys!
Got a couple good barbers, the rest are basic qualified. Like the look of the shop, though it is small. Cuts are not overpriced $20 a cut. Usually a really long wait for walk ins min 1hr. But atmosphere too arrogant, disrespectful to customers, wont be returning.
Definitely most Professional barbershop that i ever been to and every customer is taking care of quickly
I make the trek from S. Philly to get my cuts here. Best value in the city. Double value if you have facial hair. I have gotten cuts from everyone who currently works there, and Im stoked every time. See you in 2 weeks!
Most Professional barbershop that iv ever been to and definitely a comfortable environment
Great staff and very open environment that promotes socializing. Wait is usually long but overall the place is great.
I went here recently for a haircut, just a trim - nothing special. Im aware that the cut you get depends in large part on who is doing it but I got a really bad barber (dont remember the name). The reason Ive given it one star and wont go again though is not the crappy haircut, it is because the guy who did it kept answering his cell phone for personal calls every couple of minutes and kept me waiting a lot. This is a management issue and the other staff in the shop shouldnt have let it happen either. I wont be going here again.
Last time when I went there, they made me feel I am 5-year-old. It was Saturday I reached there around 5:45 knowing the fact that they were closing at 6pm so I knew I am taking my chances. So when I arrived all chairs were occupied and there wasn’t anybody waiting. Before I start writing my name on sign-in sheet, the girl who works there told we are closing soon and not taking customers anymore for the evening. I said there still 12-15 mins left to 6pm can you please let me in and she said the owner (name) already closed the register after counting money and has left. We don’t have key, we can’t access the register. IN MY MIND, I AM LIKE ALL THOSE CUSTOMERS WHO ARE CURRENTLY HAVING HAIRCUTS PRE-PAID ALREADY AS THE OWNER HAD TO CLOSE THE REGISTER? OBVIOUSLY, THEY WILL BE PAYING AFTER THEIR CUTS DONE AND REGISTER WILL NEED TO BE ACCESSED THAT TIME! SMH.. So I requested a guy who cuts hair at first chair (since I had hair cut with him last two times and he kinda knew me) if he can still take me in as he seemed to finish the haircut of his customer and he said I am sorry once the register is closed we cant do anything about it. I laughed and said I can leave the exact change on the table and you can put the money in register later on and he repeated the same thing about “register” and said there is nothing he can do about it!! Again, I knew I was taking chances by going there at 5:45pm but they cant be so ridiculous at the reasoning for not taking me for haircut. They could have simply said no or given me story slightly better. I think the owner is really great guy I have met him twice before and that’s writing this review just so he can have idea about his employees.
Great prices for quality ✂ as well as good vibes/friendly service.
This is now my go-to barbershop in Fishtown. Best haircut with fair pricing, friendly service, and a great vibe.
Eds barber shop is an interesting specimen, a time capsule from the golden age of American barbers mixed with a variation of modernism. Anybody who steps foot into Eds is greeted with the scent of the classic Ed Pinaud talc, the slithering sound of a straight edge on a strop and the chattering of shears. The atmosphere can speak for itself (literally), with a constant flow of conversation from customer to customer that creates a friendly aurora from the moment you enter. Top quality products such as suavecito are the norm, aside from hairdressing, an impressive liquor shelf hovers above the register for any customer who had a long day. Joe was my barber. Long story short, it was the best haircut I ever had.
Ed is absolutely excellent. He cuts your hair as requested and makes great suggestions. I highly recommend his shop.
Best Barbershop Ive been to. Been going to Eds Barbershop since he opened up
Look good, play good! Javi gives the meanest fade in the game. First haircut I got from him was on New Years... didnt make out with one girl at midnight, but actually two at the same time. Hand to God.
Eds real good, nice fades
The best barber shop Ive taken my son to
I want to keep this place a secret but I just cant do that to Ed and his hard working and talented crew.Traditional Mens Barber with good vibes and quality trim. Beards, staches, hair trim... They do it all and with quality and style. This place fills up and is super busy often so 10am weekdays is prob best bet. Thanks again Ed!
Youll wait two hours or more when the shop is particularly busy and you cant call ahead. You have to physically show up and put your name down. But the barbers are incredibly friendly and absolutely meticulous. I had not had a compliment on my haircut in years, until I came here and gave the barber carte blanche to do what he thought would look good for me.
This place gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever gotten
Ed is the best! Highly recommend this place. They are friendly and very welcoming.
They were really professional and they took there time not like other places where they rush and do a crapy job they did really good and they were also friendly they make you feel comfortable i will be taking my son here from now on best haircut place in philly highly recommendPs.ask mike about the weather lol jk jk😂😂😂😂
Best barber shop 💈 in town they make you feel very welcome love this place
Great barber shop. Few blocks away from my work. Great atmosphere, really knowledgable barbers @ a great price.
Full service cut, trim, shape, and blade for $20 in a relaxed local environment. Cant beat the value. If you want a 15 minute cut go to a chain :p
Great haircuts, great price, only problem is sometimes theres a bit of a wait, just call ahead before hand to find out
This place is awesome. Never got a bad cut
Great cut and value for money. Nate takes great care in giving me the best cut everytime
Great Haircuts decent location friendly place
Best place for a haircut! $20 takes of haircut and beard! Been going here for 2+ years now!
Ed & Brendan will give you a fantastic haircut at a great price. If you need a fantastic haircut now you know where to go.
Great place! The guys know what theyre doing and you cant beat the price. Dont waste time with any of the male salons in NoLibs or Olde City, Eds will give you a better haircut for half the price.
Javi has gotten me laid more times that I can remember. Great haircuts
Woke up early and waited at the door at 8AM for opening with 4 other people. First barber didnt even show up until 8:45AM, second came at 9AM and I was unable to get a cut before a job interview because of this. Very disappointing.
The only place my son will get his haircut
Recently, Everytime I show up, I am turned away because they had to cut off the list. 2 pm on a Saturday? Nope. 4 hours till close of business isnt enough. 3 pm on a Thursday? Nope. Guess I have to give my business to someone else.
Fast /friendly service /mid range prices $20 for a haircut
Ok. So its Saturday afternoon and Im near Fishtown and I decide I want to get my hair cut. So I go on Yelp and look for something closeby. I walk into Eds and I immediately sense this isnt a typical hair place. Its a barbershop, with old fashioned barber chairs and three barbers. The place is full of hipsters, all in black and immersed in their iPhones. Im the oldest one there.I waited for an hour but it was fun. The young lady at the reception began passing out shots and before you know it, everyones taking. The barbers are making jokes. It was a cool place.
Great spot! Friendly guys and they know what they are doing. Thanks Ed and Brandon.
I have been coming here for years and the guys here are great. They dont do appointments but I havent left with a bad haircut yet.
Best shop around
Walk-ins welcome! Best barber shop for the price in the city.
No other better shop in the area. Eds is the BEST. Great guys and a great cut.
My friend didnt even get a hair cut.... wait time was long and they were rude
Not very professional. Barbers were 1hr late coming in. Online scheduling tool is irrelevant.
Ed is the man, takes his time, does not rush and great conversationalist. Insane skill!
Showed up on 7/5. They were closed for vacation but left no sign on the door.
Great haircut at a really good price. Every time.
Sharp panty dropping haircuts!
Place gives off a good a vibe
Great place, great guys, awsome hair cuts!!! Ed and Brandon rule!
Great haircuts at a good price.
Im only barber I go to
I got hooked up by Ed with a very tight cut. It was totally on point for what I was looking for.
Ed and his staff are outstanding.
Wait can be bad but its worth it
Ed Great Barber Great Guy
Eds the man
Good cut
Customer since 2013. Now, new faces and more than an hour-long wait every time. Past two cuts have been substandard. My next cut wont be here.
Love this place.
