I had my car battery die, and suddenly need to be replaced. I called Jims and they squeezed me in same day so that I could make it to work. They are always professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend Jims Auto!

I called to see if my driver side mirror could be replaced. All I had to provide was my VIN number and got a call back with the estimate cost to repair. I agreed to the price and the part was ordered. I took my car in on Thursday at closing. I got a call the next morning at @11 am telling me my car was done! Polite and efficient service!

I really like taking my vehicle to Jims. The service is always efficient and he doesnt try to find new items to fix. Its an honest shop and I always feel at ease when I drop my vehicle off for service.I only went to a different place once because my husband took his vehicle to this other shop too. I just wanted an oil change and for them to look at my brakes because I was feeling a shaking almost every time I stopped.This other shop wanted to charge me around $1200 for new pads and rotors. I knew I didnt need all of that work because the car was just recently purchased and had all new items put on within the last 8 months. The vehicle is only 4 years old and was purchased through a dealer.I read information on Jims site that said they can make adjustments to brakes if theyre not catching properly. I took my vehicle to Jims, they adjusted my rotors for just about $200. My brakes feel brand new!!If youre looking for a non-commercialized, honest, auto repair shop, go to Jims.

Exceptional service. I would give six stars if i could.They assessed the problem and fixed it at a reasonable price. I would recommend them with my highest recommendation. They even did a follow up call to ensure I was satisfied. I will be returning to them in the future.

I also needed my horn fixed and state inspection done too. I have been taking my car for service to Jims for the past 3 years. The mechanics have excellent customer service, and they do a great job on my car.

Both times so far i have had a great experience with Jims Auto Service. Everyone i came in contact with was polite and professional. They made sure to call me as soon as they knew what was going on before they did the work and they had the work done in a timely manner. The last time i went a couple days later a bulb went out on me and he with no problem told me to come in he would take care of it. I think its wonderful a week or two later they contact you to make sure your satisfied with the work on your car. The owner Jim is a very nice guy and makes sure his customers are satisfied. Also very easy to get in contact with if need be. They are reasonable, reliable, and dependable. I had a lot of work done on my car that i know my dealership would of charged me an arm n a leg. I will continue to take my car there for services. Im glad to have found a trustworthy mechanic shop.

I was a customer here to get my car inspected. I had suspicions I was being taken advantage of when they said they would charge me over $600 for replacements and work done on my brakes. I said I had just had my brakes fixed recently, and they insisted it must have been done wrong. I saw positive reviews here and assumed they were right and the last mechanic had ruined my brakes, and paid the $600. They texted me a short while later asking how my car was running. I thought this was nice (though I never consented to receiving text messages from them) and responded that I had no issues. Over a month later they texted me again with the same question. This seemed suspicious, as if they were expecting something to go wrong with my brakes. After the most recent experience, I feel in danger that my brakes were, in fact, set up to fail.My partner dropped off a car to have a problem diagnosed where the clutch would slip in the middle of the highway around 3,000rpm, and Jim’s Auto: 1. Did not diagnose the problem, and said it was “probably nothing,” (which leaves us feeling in danger) and 2. Charged him for services he was not informed of before hand (replacing a battery, which was “probably the problem,” and an incredible amount for windshield wipers we also did not ask for), costing us nearly $300 in work we could have done at home.Neither of us will be coming back again.EDIT: on our way home from this shop, the clutch slipped again. The battery was very clearly NOT the problem. When confronted, they hid and said they couldn’t do anything. I feel taken advantage of; cheated. We are now out nearly $1,000 in a pandemic.

I would not recommend this place to anyone .. I brought my car to this place and needless to say my car still is not fixed 😡😡 I was promised after my 12th time coming in that my car would get the owners undivided attention and that was not done I have spent 100s of dollars taking my car there and taking a uber home or there .. I could go on and on with my experience with this company and it is not anything good please 🙏🙏 dont take your car to this company

Brought a car here for them to diagnose a problem I was having that I couldn’t figure out myself. They called me 6 days later to tell me they installed a new battery and wipers on my car without consent, and that my problem (which was an engine issue at 3k rpms) was the battery and that they didn’t have any problems after they replaced it. They told me they drove it around for 30 min and it was good. I drove it 10 ft off the parking lot and experienced the same issue I asked them to diagnose. I asked them to let me see my old (recently replaced) battery so I could test it myself, and they told me they would have to charge me a fee, and they couldn’t guarantee they still had it.So I was charged $270 for a battery I didn’t need and wipers I didn’t ask for, and the problem I asked them to diagnose was never resolved. Thank god I had somebody to charge me $90 in labor fees for loosening two bolts on a battery and undoing a wiper clasp.I thought about giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the battery they put in seems to actually be a real battery, but then they refused to give me documentation of the battery’s warranty and proof it wasn’t previously used, so I’m looking forward to 2 weeks from know when my car won’t start at all.

I have been using Jims shop for about 10 years. Its a neighborhood shop. For easy things like inspection, you can make an appointment and its easy to drop the car off the night before and he will have it ready before your second cup of coffee. He will tell if you need something done now or if it can wait. I think that the best thing about this shop is he can do whatever you need, inspection, tires, engine work. I took a job out of state and I was comfortable knowing he would take care of my daughters car in my absence. When she said something didnt sound right, I just said drop it off at Jims. If you want to develop a relationship with the folks who maintain your car, and feel comfortable with the advice they give, this is the place.

I have taken both of my vehicles to Jims and have received excellent service Everytime. They even came and picked my car up for me and stayed open a half an hour later so I could pick it up. Theyve always been straight with me and theyve always done great work Ill def be going back to them whenever I need too

Warning: ⚠️ TOTAL CROOKS. my truck broke down and this was the closest mechanics spot nearby... I got it towed in because my fuel pump needed replacing. After they charged me $800... yes... $800 for a fuel pump replacement (not including filter) or anything else done... I went to pick it up and I went to start it and the check engine light came on when it’s never come on in my truck ever since I’ve had it so that was new. he explained that there is nothing showing up in the computer so he went on and cleared the codes from the computer so I drove off with my check engine light being off I had a 45 minute drive home and then I get home and my check engine light comes back on my truck stalls out won’t start I have to get it towed back up there so then I went away on a trip and while I was away they explained some BS to me about the fuel pump module wasn’t reading correctly or whatever and then charged me another $750 for I don’t even know what so then I go to drive it off the lot and all of the sudden my one break is to the metal completely. I had my brakes and rotors replaced not long ago at all there’s no way that I drove my truck enough for it to be to the metal like this... they absolutely messed with my truck and brakes and charged me so much money for a simple job. The owner Jim gave me a high school girl attitude every time I spoke to him. And watch out for Alan, Jim likes to have him deal with customers because he’s a bit more of a people person... but he’ll just talk and talk and talk until you agree that he makes any type of sense. Terrible service. I also did more investigation and found out most of the reviews on here are from people he knows personally, check out yelp reviews for more accurate ratings.

This is the second year I’ve been going to Jim’s for auto service. I made an appointment for my annual inspection and when I took the car it was lunch time. He actually was courteous enough to drive back home with me, take the car and after the service was completed he came and got me. I’ve never ever been treated so courteously and professionally. Jim’s auto came highly recommended by my neighbor when I was just moved in. He was so right. Any work that I should need done to my car I will take to Jim’s Auto. You should do the same.

Fast, friendly service with fair prices. Our family goes there for all of our auto work. I took my car to Jim’s after an outrageous quote from a big auto chain and they gave me a good price for work that actually needed to be done, as opposed to a long list of what wasn’t necessary from the chain store. It’s a place where a person who doesn’t know a lot about cars can go without worrying about being misled. I highly recommend Jim’s.

Heard about this place from a friend. Doesnt look like much but they do great work at a fair price and they dont try to gouge you. They tell you whats wrong and they fix it. They must be doing something right because the lot is always full. Unfortunately I just purchased a new car and I get free maintenance for a year. Well free is free!

I first called on a Saturday to get an appointment. They said come in Monday morning. I came in at 9 and told the gentleman, Jim, that I was told to come In Monday morning. I showed up Monday and tell him I called Saturday for an appointment and He responds with and. So rude. I explain my issue - car wont start when the button is pushed. I saw online it was probably the break switch, which I mentioned. He defensively said well how do you know that? This should have been my first red flag. He then said theyd call and give me an estimate. 2 hours - I call he assured me hed call when he knew. 3.5 more hours (5 total) I call back and hes even more rude The part just got here Ill call you back when I know more of a price. Its not like he hasnt been working on it all day. He hasnt been sitting on his hands. Turns out it was the break switch. I got zero call about a price. The price is $226 when online most estimates show $100. After all the switch itself is $26 on Amazon. The rude service and price gouging are what you can expect with Jim. Ill never go back.Here’s my reply to yours:No you’re not being honest. You called once to say the car was ready - never to confirm the price prior to work being done - which is what i asked for in my 11:30 phone call. That’s what I asked for. I wish I would have just changed the part myself. It’s a simple 10 minute fix that would have saved me this headache. Loosening two screws and swapping out a switch that’s exposed is not worth the cost you all charged. That’s the price gouging I spoke of.

Trustworthy guysHeard a pop, low tire pressure light came on, and could have swore a couple of my tires burst and thought I saw a rip in the treads of the front tires when I tried to put air in. They had the opportunity to really screw me over and just take my money, but the guy double checked, topped up my air and let me know nothing was actually wrong. Did it all for free even when I insisted on paying

Had a pressure gauge tire problem. Jims Auto is in my neighborhood. Stopped by to get some professional help. Wait time less than 5 minutes. They took my car in the garage, explained my problem. Within 20 minutes they assessed and fixed the pressure with all four tires. They didnt charge me for the service. I feel safe once again knowing my tires have the proper amount of pressure in them. Thks Jims Auto Service. Ill be back!!!

We rented a Budget truck from Jims. It was a big move with 2 title kids and very important that everything went smoothly. I could not get Jims on the phone when calling their Budget Truck number so I had to call them directly. I called every week leading up to the move. I was told to call back a day or so before and until then they would not know anything. Then I called a day or so before and Jims said the truck would be delivered the day before we reserved it. I called the next day and the truck was not delivered as expected - they said it was delayed overnight and should be there in the morning. I called back the next morning (the day we needed the truck) and they said the truck wasnt there. When I asked what the plan was to resolve this I was told there was nothing they can do. Because Jims could not help, I had to call a manager at budget 1-2 times and finally was able to find out from them that the truck was on its way from Allentown and would be there (barely) in time. I arrived at Jims to pick up the truck. Jim himself greeted me and said something to me so quietly I could not understand and then went into his office leaving me waiting. After a few minutes I asked him what was happening. He said the truck was delivered to him without gas and would not start. He then said the truck was at the gas station being filled up. I asked him what the plan was - he said If you wanna rent this truck somewhere else go ahead. I explained that I was just trying to get my truck. He gave me no further information. As it seemed it might be a long wait for the truck, I left and came back with my wife and 2 kids. At this time the truck was there and gassed up and ready. It was delivered late but it was delivered on the same day. Jim did try to give some advice on how to drive and fill the truck with gas.

This is my third shop in 20 years and I will not use another shop(been using these guys since 2012) I am able to ask questions easily explain issues and they are very knowledgeable. This is the only shop me and my wife use

If there is a way to screw you over through Budget Truck Rental or service to your vehicle, they will do it. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST

I live in South Philadelphia and work in New Jersey. So to say that this garage is out of the way for me is an understatement. I was referred here by a friend because of the work and trustworthiness of the owner. Everyone in my family now brings their cars to Jims for routine and non routine service. I highly recommend them especially if you are looking for a garage you can trust and does really good work.

Quality work at a good price. Jim is pretty cool too. As a mom with young kids I have jumped around to different mechanics feeling uncomfortable being there with my kids or not trusting the guys to be honest. At Jim’s I don’t feel that way at all. He’s easy, straightforward and even got chairs when I told him his waiting room was lacking in something to sit on when waiting for my oil change 😂. He doesn’t take forever to get your car back to you either for an oil change or something more complicated. 5 stars from me. Go to Jim’s!

I cannot rate low enough. The 5 star reviews MUST BE EMPLOYEES, or people who know the owner here. If you go here for something small, they will seem fine. The second they think they can get one over on you, they will. Third visit is when they tried to get me. I just played stupid. Vehicle sabotage to charge more is their operation. Unfortunately I found this out the hard way. The other 1 star reviews match my experience here.Someone needs to stick a hidden camera under their vehicle and take it into this place. It is so crooked Im surprised the building hasnt fallen over.I was quoted INSANE prices for repairs by this shop for problems that never existed. I took my vehicle to another shop, next thing you know they find nice fresh damage with tool marks under the vehicle pertaining to the parts they were trying to charge me over $1k to fix. Ended up being they did about $100 worth of damage in normal shop money, easily could have totaled my vehicle and killed myself had I not taken it right from there to another shop. It was VERY obvious because the things they damaged were Non Moving parts that were perfectly fine on the vehicle for 30+ years and not near anything that could have damaged them. Drive away after owning vehicle for years and refusing their repairs, next thing you know multiple things break at the same time. Parts that normally outlast the engines on other vehicles.I cant prove it of course, this was the best I could do. Dont say you werent warned about these guys! They are as shady as you can get.
