Weve been taking our cars to Phil for years and are always very happy with his service. Living in the city our car has been bumped more than a few times. Recently we had a big dent in our back bumper. Phil was able to remove the dent without replacing the whole bumper for a fraction of the price. It looks like new. We also needed to renew our inspection and we had a few minor repairs. Phil was able to get this all done and back to us in 2 days. We are very happy and will keep going back to Phil.

I was a first—time customer: from my initial call, I was impressed with Phil’s courtesy and professionalism. Then as requested, the shop called me back to let me know an earlier appointment day had became available. On repair day, everything found was presented to me via an easy to access online link, with pictures and recommendations. From my initial scheduling to the visit itself, everything was great - I’ll be back!

Phil was great! I have a 2014 Subaru Crosstrek and the AC harness burned out. He sent pictures of the problem so I could see what was going on (he does this for all issues that need to be addressed) and called to review what he found. Not only is Phil an expert at his job, his passion for doing it right is clear. When I told him the dealership had mentioned the issue with the harness about a year ago, he was appalled by the fact that they didnt emphasize it was a safety concern rather than just a nuisance to not have AC. Even with needing to order a new harness, the turnaround time to get the issue resolved was fast. His prices are more than reasonable and his service is top of the line. Ill definitely be going back to Phil in the future.

At Night Owls Fast Food we take the reliable operation of our vehicles seriously. We had an emergency and needed service fast and we found Phils. We see why this place has 5-stars. From Ms. Crystal, who obviously keeps things running smooth, to Mario, who took care of our car, service was terrific. We have a 2021 Telluride SX Prestige Edition that has only ever been touched by the dealer service department. (The thought is that we dont want some regular shop messing something up.) However, we will make an exception for Phils. It is definitely a Diamond in the rough and we highly recommend them and will be using them for all of our vehicles.

I am so disappointed in the service I was provided today. First, my appointment was for 9:30am this morning and it is currently 4:17pm and I’m just getting my car back.All I needed was an oil change. There was no communication at all today on the statues of my vehicle and I had to call them to see if my car was ready. When I called, the receptionist told me my car was next to get work on 🥴 I brought my car there at 9:30 why it is just not being worked on? About five minutes later, she calls back and say I apologize your car been finished!!!! Yet no one called me. Never bringing my car here again.

I cant tell you much about cars or their engines internal workings, but I recognize good service and honest people when I encounter them. Phils Excellent Auto has been nothing but excellent during my cars extensive servicing. Getting a quote and an appointment, dropping the car, and receiving their full inspection report on your car feels just right. They will explain things, answer your question, and be patient with you. Phil worked around my schedule. I cant recommend their services enough. My car was made the same year Facebook was created, yet it feels much younger thanks to Phil and his team.

Since Ive been in Philly Ive dealt with a lot of bad service, and inefficient methods of handling customers. This so far has been one of the easiest places to work with in terms of everything. I had them do an inspection on my car, they were timely, showed me what was wrong with it, and overall good people. I recommend this place for anyone needing repairs or inspections.

Great service, honest work, and super friendly. Called at noon and they had my car inspected before they closed on the same day. Really appreciated the digital inspection report as well. I’ve been going to Phil’s Excellent Auto Service Inc for over 12 years. I started receiving services on my first car a Honda Accord. Due to the excellent service Phil provides, I never had any issues with that vehicle. I now Have a Hyundai Elantra that Phil is taking great care of. Not only is Phil my mechanic he is also a man of God who is very encouraging and up lifting. Often times I would go in the shop feeling down with the problems of the world and Phil will provide words of encouragement to help my day turn around. I am truly thankful to have an awesome mechanic.

I went to Phils after bringing my car to Pep Boys for state inspection. Pep Boys told me I needed 4 new tires for my 2013 Buick Verano, but I wanted a second opinion. Phil was great. He didnt try to over sell me anything and was very upfront with what was wrong with my car and how to fix it. Definitely go here, hes a great businessman and mechanic.

This place really helped me out when I was in a jam. I was about to leave town for a few days when I noticed a ticket on my windshield for expired inspection. Since I was leaving the state I had to get it taken care of ASAP. I called every shop in South Philly and Phil’s was able to squeeze me in right away!They were even cheaper than the other places I called. When the inspection was done I got a link via text message that showed a breakdown of the entire inspection. It even had photos of each inspection point and potential points of concern! That was really reassuring knowing they actually went around my entire car and closely checked everything out.All in all they were just a genuine joy to deal with. The women on the phone was super nice and accommodating!So, thank you Phil’s! You actually are an Excellent Auto Service haha.

Phill was recommended by my coworker since I was trying to change my car title from out of state. I called Phil and he walked me through what I need to do to get my in state tags and registration before doing my inspection. During my inspection, he was thorough and kept checking in with me and updating me. My car needed some work to be able to pass inspection and he was honest and helpful. I had everything done within the same day (including tire and oil change) and he even fix my visor for free. Definitely going to be my main auto place for my car. He does everything! Oh and they have the best massage chair and jelly beans.😊

My review isnt about Phils skill as a mechanic, but rather the content of his character. I crashed my bicycle outside his shop, breaking my arm in the process. Phil burst from his shop to tend to me, call 911, and relay info to my wide. He helped her load by bike into our SUV. He expressed kindness and extended aid to a total stranger. Phils a good man. Use his shop, if for no other reason than this.

I found this shop on Google and cannot say enough good things about it. My experience was wonderful all around and my car was taken care of very efficiently. The owner and his family are amazing people and truly care about their customers. I’m glad I found a reputable shop in Philly that I’ll be going with all of my vehicles. 10/10, don’t think twice about this business.

Phil and his crew are the best in town. They are my go-to car repair/auto inspection/emission testing place. They always know how to assess my cars problems, inform me about other issues, give suggestions on how to approach it, and let me decide whether we should proceed or not. They are very respectful with my time and my opinion. Very professional! When my car is under repair they would drive me to my home/work. I appreciate the extra effort, and the honest pricing. This place is awesome, and Phil is a great guy. Its sometimes hard to find a mechanic you can trust when you dont know much about cars, but Phil is very trustworthy. He even takes you under your car while he is working on it to show you the problems he found and why they need to be fixed. He also gets things done quickly and on time. Highly recommended.

I know very little about cars and I have a tumultuous relationship with my VW. I hadnt gotten it inspected in two years because it was such a pain in the behind to get it registered to my name and some work needed to be done, and being a recent graduate, I had no money to do it. Well, finally I got my inspection done and Im so happy I went to Phils. He was very helpful and friendly. He even buffed out some dinks and scratches I had on my car without me asking or costing me extra. He was very informative and explained how he wants to have an honest working relationship with his clients and he will do what he can to help out as much as possible. Thankfully, my car didnt need any work done, but I will be going to Phils from now on. Not only was the service excellent, Phil didnt make me feel like a stupid white girl and even gave me a discount. I also like that Ill get an email reminder for when my next inspection is due- a life saver. Thank you so much, Phil!

I had an appointment with This place at 3. My car didnt start getting worked on until 5. And I dont get it back until 7. I took my car to get inspected and he failed it for the dumbest reasons..literally. My wipers were streaking (one streak). Brought my car home and cleaned the windshield and wipers and wham no streak. The streak was tiny and DID NOT block my view from lack of wiping. He also didnt pass the car for a light being out, and when I asked to see, it worked. He was like weird it wasnt working before. I see my front end reflecting in other peoples bumpers ALL THE TIME. That light has never been off. He also didnt pass my car for a rusty frame. This is the east coast. 90% of the cars on the road have rust on the frame. I found the experience annoying and felt like he was just trying to get money from me. Now I have to go get inspected else where. The only positive i have is that they were nice and his sectrataty offered to come pick me up since it had started storming. I took a lyft but still thought that was nice. But overall, I will not take my car back there.

HUGE MISTAKE. For inspection, Said lights didnt work, brake caliper was bad, and tire was loose. All untrue. When checking certification of eligibility for inspection for PA he didnt renew his licensing. I didnt even see the emissions machine in house.
