Had a phenomenal time and Quentin is an excellent instructor, very knowledgeable and he made the class so much fun !! We will most definitely be back, I have always wanted to do something like this and Im so happy we picked here! Also they were very accommodating because we had to reschedule on our scheduled day and let us come two weeks after. Thank you so much again and well hopefully see you sooner than later!

Well done Yay Clay! Our 7 year old daughters began taking classes a few weeks ago and are LOVING the them! Go here for a class! So fun! My husband and I went to a 2 hr class and really had a great time. Quintin was super knowledgeable but explained things in ways us two total newbies could understand. Quintin was also attentive - kept an eye on what everyone in the class was doing so they could quickly jump in and help if we were about to break the clay or do something super wrong. The energy was also so welcoming and fun. Quintin immediately made us feel at ease and spent time chatting with us to getting to know us which really made the experience more enjoyable.

Quintin was a lovely instructor! He made us feel welcome and sparked nice conversation. It was our first time throwing clay and he was very supportive of our efforts to create our masterpieces. He was always available to help course correct and never made us feel bad about our novice clay-throwing status. Yay Clay is the best. The building, the studio, the experience, everything. I have been twice (before COVID and now) and I was fortunate enough to have had two great instructors and two great experiences each time. The instructor this time was Quentin. He was extremely helpful in making sure we were able to have fun and create the object we invision within the allowed time frame. He also dresses nicely as well. My nine year old grandson had a blast with the clay: moulding and designing it. They also have video games to keep you occupied while you wait before you get started and at the end during clean up time. Im not sure which part he enjoyed the most as he was excited about the entire experience. It was one of the best MeMom and grandson days in a long time. I would go again and again. The only thing I was disappointed about was due to COVID you can no longer paint your own creations. You select a color, they blast and paint it for you then come back to pick it up. I torally get the rationale but we were still disappointed as my grandson was looking forward to painting his own. Thank you Quentin for making the day a great experience. OVERALL: Yay Clay and Quentin get an AAA+++++Update: I would like to thank Keith (owner) for the call after my post. I also appreciate you trying to accommodate us painting our pottery. My comment wasnt a complaint just an observation and experience I enjoyed and to inform any previous customer whi may have also enjoyed it that painting your own pottery is no longer available. Given the circumstances the world is facing I totally understand the reason/rule why the customer cannot come back to the studio to paint their pottery. The pickup process was great and contactless, they lock your pottery in lockers with your name on it outside of the studio. You open and inspect it and tiu are done. As you can see in the additional photos despite not being able to paint our own pottery they both came out amazing.TOTAL OVERALL RATING: (Yay Clay experience, studio, Quentin, Keith and pickup): AAAAA+++++

I just have to say that I booked a date with Yay clay but then had a sudden lost in my family in which my grandfather passed away. I wasnt able to make it and had to cancel last minute. Running a business we all know that theres always a call ahead but since this was so sudden, yay clay management was so kind and considerate towards me and emailed me back with their condolences. I will be booking with them again when I get the chance. I just wanted to Show my appreciation for their kindness and professionalism.Thank you so much.

We took a 2-hour clay throwing class at Yay Clay this weekend, and it was so awesome! Extremely fun, laid back, and the instructor (Quintin, he rocked - book with him if you can!) was funny, extremely thorough, patient, and made us all feel super comfortable with trying a new skill. Highly recommend for a night or day out where you’re looking for something different. :)

It was a lot of fun!I received this as a gift and was so excited! My boyfriend and I took the class and it was amazing! The instructor was so nice and helpful! It was so much fun! I couldnt wait to pick it up. However, when I picked it up i was very upset by how they glazed it. The glaze did not go all the way down to the bottom so the piece looks unfinished. I am quite bummed because we paid so much for this experience and if I were to glaze it myself I would have made it look finished.

This place is so cool! We have a monthly girls day out, and this was my choice. We booked a private party for 10 people and had the studio to ourselves. You can bring food and drinks, or have it catered. Our host Patrick was very friendly and helpful. Not to mention super skilled! Our experience at Yay Clay was great! I highly recommend this place for anyone really. Its a relaxing environment where you make a real piece of art from scratch. Starting with a ball of clay that you work into whatever you choose to make on a clay wheel, using water, your hands and a sponge basically. You are also able to add texture to your piece using a variety of tools. I cant wait to go again!

I love the mug I made and had a great time with Quintin as our instructor. He made sure everyone completed the various parts of the lesson before moving on through the class. Id highly recommend!

Wow ! What in the world!? I wasnt expecting this amazing little gem to be tucked away inside a old warehouse. I was nervous at first as I was being taken here for a date night and had no idea where we were going. What a surprise! We had an amazing instructor and she guided us through every step and helped us all create something we were stoked about. We have to come back again after the first firing for glazing then again for pick up. I cant wait to build more and more on what weve started! What an amazing place!

What a fun and great experience. One of the best date nights Ive ever had. The instructor, Abby, was amazingly friendly and helpful. I also learned a new skill that could very well become a fun hobby. I strongly recommend this as at least a fun date night if not a monthly or bi weekly experience.

Really great experience. My first time throwing clay. I took my niece and nephew. Thought it would be too difficult for them but apparently it is a very gentle craft. They did great and Abby was an amazing instructor for us. Abby was well versed in the art of clay and working with kids.

Amazing!! This was a fun activity to do with my boyfriend, from the throwing, to glazing. We did purchase tickets through GroupOn, but know that you will be expected to pay more when reserving your time (for the second hour, and for the return trip to glaze) so it can become a bit more expensive than anticipated. Everyone there was kind and it was a very relaxing atmosphere. Would highly recommend for a date, or activity with friends, or even alone!

This was one great experience!!! Kevin, our instructor, is super mega awesome!!! I messed up my bowl, and he fixed it! Would definitely go back! And the studio is easily accessible by public transportation (the EL).

My girlfriend and I arrived a bit early and we were welcomed by our friendly instructor Patrick to come in, play games, and chill until our class. The building itself, along with the studio, setup, and decorations were great and really set the mood to get your ccreativity going. The instructor was even more awesome! We had some people in the group that needed more help than others, but he was very patient, helpful, and dedicated some time individually to help everyone at their own pace. Ultimately, my girlfriend and I were inspired by Patrick and have added ceramics to our interests and hobbies. We will definitely do it again and we highly recommend Yay Clay, and our fantastic instructor Patrick.

My 8-year old daughter and I enjoyed the opportunity of working with Alex who was well versed in his craft. I recently took a class at Yay Clay! and it was a blast! It’s A BYOB wheel throwing class. It was a small group so we got a lot of individual attention. Each of us three a vessel and we came back a couple weeks later to glaze them. The teachers were great, they have a nice welcoming studio with all of the necessary tools as well as some lounge areas and games! I’m so happy with how my piece turned out and I definitely recommend that you check it out and go make one of your own!

I organized a team event for my company at Yay Clay and we had an amazing experience. We had 15+ people and everyone had a blast. Keith was super easy to work with to set the whole thing up -- we had the space reserved to ourselves, ordered great Mexican food from a local spot Keith recommended, and brought wine and beer. Keith and Alex created a great atmosphere, so we had a good time while learning how to make some awesome pottery. Most of us were complete beginners and they made the process accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Definitely a unique and fun team building event, and Im planning to come back with non-work friends.

Booked an appointment for a date night and had the best time!!! The staff is so friendly and helpful. They dont make you feel dumb for messing up (which you will) and they are very knowledgeable. My partner and I had so much fun at a recent date night at Yay Clay! I was a ceramicist growing up, but had not thrown a pot in 12 or 13 years. This was the perfect environment to dive back in. The space is open and inviting and our instructor, Jeff, was so great. His attitude and enthusiasm really made the class great. I hope Im able to build in enough time to make a membership possible, but if not, I will definitely be returning for classes.

Awesome experience! Didnt know what to expect at first when my boyfriend surprised me with this date day. We could bring beer and relax and it was awesome!! We live in central jersey so the only annoying thing was having to go back multiple times to finish the piece. But the instructor we had was awesome and helpful and the pieces came out beautifully! Would totally recommend. The parking and location of this place is also a bit scary, as needles and trash were out front of the building. But theres a door key and youre totally safe once inside.

I took a class with my mother and two sisters and it was such a wonderful experience! It was a beginners wheel throwing class and it was so great getting to make something with our hands. The woman who taught the class was super fun and friendly.

I have a blast every time (third time at this point). Ive gone for anniversaries, with a group of friends, and now with my momma. You can bring wine or beer and you get to drink it out of fun little mugs other people made. They really walk you through the steps of the process, and they dont just hang you out to dry either. They will help you to make sure you walk away with something at least similar to what you came in wanting to make. I keep going back because I absolutely love it. I will likely be getting a membership for myself in the next few months.FYI if you book through them directly the glazing is included. Price wise is actually works out the same as groupon, so I like to book directly through them.

Amazing clay studio in Philadelphia! Have taken many classes and used their studio hours to independently work on projects including my wedding favors. Yay Clay was one of the funnest activities Ive done this summer. I was able to make a mug through the help and skills I was taught on the wheel. Before I experienced Yay Clay I thought making clay models were for little infants with Play-Doh. Now my thoughts have changed immensely towards clay.

This place is amazing! We spent a wonderful afternoon taking a beginners wheel throwing class. Alex is a superb teacher: talented, knowledgeable, patient, and a lot of fun! Our diverse group included my 88-year old mother, my husband and I, our daughter and our 22-year old niece. Each of us is pleased with our creations and looking forward to returning to finish them. Try it - Ill be amazed if you dont love it too! (Plus they have great music!)

My son and I visited for our first yay clay experience yesterday. First of all the building itself is worth the visit. Big warehouse full of photo ops for you and your pals.Our instructor was very friendly, very welcoming and hands on with my son. My son is autistic and has a hard time focusing and sitting still. I really appreciated that our instructor tried to guide him and also gave him room to do his own thing. We had a very positive experience and I know my son enjoyed his time there. After he was done with the clay he wanted to get back on the colorful elevator that brought us up so we did leave before class was over. Thank you for all of your help and for a good experience. You were great!

While I understand their policy on late comers to classes. Then they shouldnt send out class reminders with false info!!!! Then on top of that they we very rude and dismissive to my fiance and I. Further more I will never reschedule and wouldnt recommend this place to a stray dog!!!

When I first arrived at Yay Clay in December I thought to myself WTF, am I getting myself in. From the shady entrance to the shifty elevator, I had no idea if I was going to a class or a bum fight that was going to end with me being robbed. Safe to say it all worked out! I honestly enjoyed the classes a lot more thwn I expected to and I even ended up with this mug! (See picture) We had the same instructor every time and he was super helpful, and versatile. What I mean by that is he could either have a hands on approach to helping you (if thats what you wanted) or sit back and let you figure your own thing out with him giving you guidance. I would totally do this again with the GF and maybe even make it a double date.

Keith and the staff at Yay Clay have created an environment that is surpassed by none. There is a mix of a professional studio combined with the eclectic whimsical vibe bringing with it a wonderful family environment that is safe, fun, spontaneous and where your creativity can soar. The staff has the ability to teach anyone bringing out your inner creative child who just wants to get your hand dirty. Keith ask me one night, Hey are you ready to get your hands dirty? with that statement my imagination was set free. I will tell you this there are lots of studios, lots of teacher but there is ONLY ONE YAY CLAY! AND ONLY ONE YAY CLAY STAFF!. check them out you will not be sorry.

YayClay is a terrific option for an outing with friends. I have been to the studio several times, and the staff always does their best to make sure everyone feels comfortable and is having a good time. In addition to the art supplies, the studio has fun games and a foosball table while you relax or wait for your appointment. I can see this being very fun on a date, with a group of friends, or even to bring little ones for hands-on arts and crafts. 100% recommend.

I was looking for something new to try out with a friend and the experience exceeded all my expectations! The place has a really cool, comfortable feel to it and even has a foosball table and some free games to play. The YayClay guys running the show were super friendly, fun, and helpful and they are really what made the experience as great as it was.Initially I was a little intimidated because Im not very skilled when it comes to crafts, but it turned out much less difficult than I had anticipated and I ended up with a sweet little bowl. :)Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun new hobby to explore or just to change up your weekly activity!

Bought this experience on LivingSocial for my husband and I for our anniversary. We have the BEST time. I have to admit, not the best area, but it was still a great time. Everyone there was very patient. I had never done clay throwing and was very nervous, but the instructor was wonderful. He helped out whenever there was an issue and never got irritated with my craziness! Haha! Glazing was a great time as well sitting around chatting with other people painting our masterpieces! I strongly urge you get the 2 hour experience if you are going to do! No other option to get the full experience!! Gotta try it! It was awesome!!

Just did a raku firing with Keith and it was amazing!!! I highly recommend booking him for a workshop. We were a group of 6 and each one of us had great results. Keith was knowledgable, enthusiastic, safe, and got all of us working as a team. We learned a ton and were delighted with the unique glaze effects! Looking forward to doing it again!

I dont like Philly, but this place is an oasis. Where else can you go to make art and kick it to whatever music you like? The place has all the tools to accommodate a pro and the easy-going environment to make a novice feel comfortable. There are arcade machines and fussball, for when youre done with your piece. Ive been here several times, I heard about it from a friend who is never impressed. The staff is really cool, besides being knowledgeable and creative in their craft. Bring something to drink. Throw a party for half of what it costs to go to a bar [again].

After the owner contacted me with such diligence to make things right for us, I must say I am overly impressed with their customer service, after the fact.
