My quality of living has decreased significantly since they bought my building. I have put in many maintenance requests and nothing has been fixed. Theres unpredictable construction and I work from home, we get no emails notifying when they will be working. Just yelling workers and drilling below me for months, and men painting outside of my windows. I have had an alarm beeping for days outside of my unit. I also love how an employee reminds me that they can enter my apartment because its on my lease, even if I need to work from home. They notified me that my rent will be increasing, but I wouldnt even stay to put up with this without the increase. My introduction to knowing my building had been bought was a request for payment, no introduction or anything. This company is about their money and future profits, not the current residents

First time visiting I loved it. The community seems to have a solid foundation. I could easily see this place becoming a hit spot for all artist in the near future. I hope to go back and work on some. Projects myself in the days to come. It had wonderful natural light for photographers and filmmakers especially. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a creative space.

Would Not RecommendOriginally, my wife and I had a space at Bok in South Philly. They had their own issues and I am not writing a review on them but we moved to the Loom for a variety of reasons. The rent here is lower and the amenities and service is lower as well. I understood that going in.The building is in rough shape. The bills for heat and other items are arbitrary and seem high. You have no individual control of your rooms heat. Sometimes it was freezing, I had a space heater that I kept under my desk which wouldnt even help on cold days.I had water leaking in my space the entire time, I asked for it to be repaired but I think the issue was structurally deep so nothing ever happened. They have a freight elevator that worked sporadically which was a pain for me.I feel like this place is constantly fighting break ins. The neighborhood is bad. The door codes change constantly, sometimes without notice. Ive seen people shooting up outside the building in the middle of the afternoon.I probably wouldnt argue about the place if the charges for heatand electric werent outrageous. My rent is reasonable but the total monthly bill adds at least 25% of the total rent to my cost.

I have friends who have studios in here for glass blowing and music. Its a safe place compared to the neighborhood but it definitely feels like Port Richmond. Building is secure and there isnt any public traffic. Lots of creative people in the building and most are friendly.

I was a tenant at the loom for about 4 years. I recently moved due to getting married, but I really like what this space had to offer. For the price per square foot and the flexibility of the management, you couldnt get any better in the area. I ended up making a good amount of connections with the other tenants in the building as well. Pretty convenient for others to get to from both 95 and the El. They operate studio/creative spaces out of 3 buildings right next to each other, so there should be a space just right for you.

The Loom organization is dedicated to the arts. This is shown by their appreciation of artists work and their flexibility in trying to help artists when its possible.

The LOOM is a prototype of an urban space where people pursue their enterprises in an environment that encourages cross collaboration and innovation. Ive been through the LOOM several times now blogging about various creative and industrious people who house their operations there. The LOOM is a fascinating community and it is definitely more than the sum of its parts.

The room I was offered to rent was atrocious. Water on the floor, no windows, no ventilation, no working restrooms, poor lighting, poor decor and flimsy doors Some units contained items from a previous tenant left behind
