I went to CJ Beauty Salon on Friday 5-11-2018. I loved the way she takes her time get to know your hair and whats best for your hair. I got a lot of compliments on my style and when my husband said he loved it. One of my daughters is a hair stylist in San Antonio and she said mom she did a beautiful job your hair is so pretty. Very professional, very comfortable environment. My hair was trimmed to moderation, not too much taken off, usually I am hesitant to get my ends trimmed but the stylist here was very considerate to how much I wanted trimmed and trimmed just enough to keep my hair at a desired length.

Just got my hair done and it came out looking better than I imagined. If you’ve been dealing with any type of hair loss (My issue is alopecia on the midcenter of my scalp but I would’ve never said that if it hadn’t been for the peace of mind I felt leaving the shop). Ms. Colelita knows the right kinds of hair care you need and if not she’ll definitely help you find it. She’s very patient and if you’re patient with her, you will find you’ll have some satisfactory results. Also, she’s very understanding when it comes to pricing and will do well to work with you on that as well as scheduling. She’s very respectful and very honest. After having spent almost 2 years being CJ’s client exclusively, i learned some things like, it is best for black women to learn to do their own hair and not helplessly depend on pros because they will NEVER be gentle enough with your hair or share your priorities and honestly don’t know as much as you might think. They are not hair gods presiding over your hair. Your hair is not a mystery; it can be learned and mastered by You. My hair was longer at the beginning when I first started going to CJ and at the end of the two years my hair was shorter. For a woman who made it very clear at the first appointment to CJ that I want to cultivate length, after 2 years of visiting CJ almost every month like clockwork, shorter hair was a devastating realization. She is trim-happy / scissors-happy and actually keeps her own hair short. If you want your hair to be longer, then you might want to find another stylist or learn to do your own hair yourself. In addition, she gave sparse information on how to care for relaxed hair even though I had kept my hair natural for decades and knew little and when I asked for reassurance that more info would be coming from her about the care of relaxed hair that she had recommended I get, because I saw my scalp getting dandruff after getting a relaxer treatment, she got highly defensive and wouldn’t reassure. Salon stylists “style” your hair, “recommend services”, and do not actually care about your hair health or goals. It is not their job to fill you with confidence about your hair health or your ability to care for it yourself. They want to keep you unsure and dependent. Do NOT be afraid. Watch YouTube videos about how to care for your hair yourself and limit or stay away from stylists. Educate yourself, protect / nurture your hair, save yourself money and watch your hair grow long and healthy! It is especially important for black women to feel self-empowered about their own hair, learn about your hair and service it yourself (natural or relaxed).

She shouldnt get no stars because if you are attractive young lady she would mess your hair up on purpose .If you want a good stylist who would give you what you ask for not what the stylist want you to have please dont go to this salon . Plus it is unsanitary salon .
