I contracted Jesus to replace my gutters after the recent storm. He came by and gave me a estimate and it was the most conclusive one I had received. Due to the size of my house, he recommended replacing my 5 inch gutters with 6 inch. I agreed and when i was scheduled for the service his crew showed up and did an excellent job. My experience with Discount Rain Gutters has been horrible. There were issues with work to be done that the estimator had promised but forgotten to write down that had been discussed. Then one afternoon I came home and found the gutter guys there. I went inside to change and by the time I walked outside to talk to them they were gone. They left the leave debris behind. I had to clean it off the the walks and stairs into the house. A day later we received an email that only said The job is done we need the rest of the payment. Nothing else. No one came out to explain to check the work and see if we were satisfied. We had to call several times before we got a hold of them. When we were finally able to talk to the owner he seemed argumentative but agreed to come out and see what we were talking about. He agreed there had been a miscommunication and agreed to finish the job. We sent an email to confirm the install date and make sure we were on the same page.It went downhill from there. He replied that he was only doing the one downspout but if I wanted he could give me an estimate on the rest of the work. I said he had already agreed to do them. He sounded angry but agreed to finish the work and started to say something, paused then came back with an angry sounding but we will not cut through your deck. I said we talked about this and it was part of the job. Then he practically screamed we will not cut through your deck. Before I could respond he yelled at me Im through with you and hung up the phone.All I seem to see about this company are good reviews and thats why I picked him.Bad work and rude attitude!

Tl;dr When you call back about a bad install and the first response is So do you want an estimate?I had Discount Rain Gutters do an install for me 3 years ago and wow do I regret going with them. I was planning on waiting on reviewing them until everything has been resolved but after my initial phone call with Jesus about my problems, Im unsure where this is going to go.I had gutter guards put in. Im not a gutter or roof person. Roofs are not in a convenient place for noticing something wrong with them. I didnt think anything of them at the time of install. Recently, I noticed the fascia on my back patio looked off. It is completely soft. A couple days later Im looking out a second story window during a rain storm and notice that water is pooling up on the roof. What happened is that the gutter guards run against the shingles. In some places, they go under the shingles, in some places the gutter guards bow out, and in this one spot, the gutter guards lift the shingles up, causing water to pool, seep through, and damage my roof.To prepare myself, I got some roofers out for estimating replacing my roof to see what they noticed and said. They were surprised at the gutter guard installation and said that they couldnt reroof until it was fixed, some asked me to go to the gutter person while others offered to charge me to do it themselves. Ok, so it isnt just me and with some telling me go back to my gutter person (rather than them trying to charge me for it) shows this isnt a scare tactic to drum up business.Today, I called Jesus. I explained the problem. There was a pause while I waited to see what his response was. I think he was waiting to hear what I wanted but he broke the pause first with the response so do you want an estimate?. I told him that I wanted my gutter guards and roof fixed. He told me that it was impossible that his gutter guards would do that and that I hadnt been maintaining the gutters and that poorly maintained gutters would flood and damage the roof. He is explaining what is going wrong without looking at it and ignoring me when I tell him that I have seen it and that is not what is happening. He told me the roofers were just trying to fleece me to get themselves business. He repeated these several times before he hung up on me.As an update, Jesus called me back after looking at the pictures. He still made excuses but gave an offer. We agreed to him paying me some money for repairs and his work crew would remove our gutter guards. I scoffed at the estimate I got for repairs (with only looking at a single picture that didnt show the extent of the damage) and low balled me but I just wanted this over with and accepted. I am out the gutter guards I paid for and several hundred dollars in repair costs but at least I dont have to talk to DRG again.

These guys did a great job with the install! The owner showed up on time and provided a range of options that fit my need. The installers were quick and careful with my plants. I like that they install large gutters. I originally asked about the traditional size gutters and Jesus explained the difference between what he installs and what you can get from the big box store. Honestly, now that I have the larger size gutters on the house I am happy we went that route! Definite recommend!!

Right from the beginning when they came out to assess the need they were quick, knew what size gutter to recommend, and was very receptive to any questions we had. The install crew was timely and professional. The install took 2 hours which included removing old gutters and replacing with the new ones.We had an issue with two downspouts after the install but Jesus was very responsive to fixing them. We highly recommend for the price, service, quality, and professionalism!

Loved working with these guys who were very responsive after moving into my home and most importantly had very good follow up through the process of doing an estimate, a text and call when the team came over to put the gutters together. Pricing was reasonable and added value when necessary on certain items. Will recommend for any others who move into new homes.

Gutter King referred me to Discount Rain Gutters because they said they didnt do small jobs on existing gutters. So on Oct 26 of last year, DRG came out to give us a quote. A young woman (sales person in training) came by & we walked around the house, pointing out what needed to be done. It was clearly visible that our gutters were full of leaves & we needed new leaf screens, but we also showed her where 2 downspouts needed to be added. She wrote up an estimate of $1200 & said they required a deposit of $200 before they could schedule the job. I thought that sounded fair, esp since they had so many good reviews. The start date on the agreement was Dec 21 (2 months out).The 2 months passed & we didnt hear from them. I was expecting a call any day. Then on Dec 22, we drove up our driveway after being out all day & find the gutter crew just leaving. There were huge piles of wet leaves & debris everywhere all around the house. So it was obvious they had cleaned out the gutters, and theyd installed new leaf screens, but that was ALL the work that was done....NO DOWNSPOUTS. The next day I get an email that said in all caps GUTTER WORK COMPLETED. Please send a check for $1000 to the address below. I was shocked. I immediately responded by saying no it is NOT completed and Im not paying $1200 for gutter cleaning & screens, when the downspouts we requested were NOT installed. Jesus the owner got very angry with me & said I had signed a contract & that he could put a lien on my house if I didnt pay him. He said the downspouts were not written on the estimate. I told him I could hardly read what was written on the quote because it was so faint, & I cant help it if the sales person did not write down what we discussed...she certainly SHOULD have. She didnt even take measurements! He told me that was his daughter & he was helping her out by training her in the business. I said I understood but that still is no excuse for not getting the order right. I also said it was very unprofessional not to contact the customer prior to coming to do the work, esp if our last contact was 2 months ago! He apologized for not giving us a reminder, & said the guys would be back out to finish the job on Jan 12 at 7AM. I did not have a good feeling about getting the downspouts installed.....there were no notes or placement instructions, no measurements. How would they possibly know what we needed? I decided I didnt want to go any further with this very unprofessional display of non-customer service confusion. I thought, this is insane, who ACTS like this?? So I told him we were cancelling further work. I would pay him some but not ALL of what he said I owed him. He came at 10 (not 7) & his guys patched a few leaks & replaced a couple of corner roof guards but there were NO DOWNSPOUTS. After much back & forth about what we thought we expected to be done, he promised to come back with the downspouts the next week to actually finish it., but that he needed the rest of the money. I gave him $800 & said the other $200 he would get when they actually completed the darn job! I didnt hear anything else from him, & I assumed he was blowing off completing the job, because the daughter-estimator had totally botched up the quote, and he was losing money. But I texted him just to see if he would say they were coming, & he actually said they were. My husband then called him to make SURE he understood what work he had left to complete. He argued with my husband about the 2nd downspout that we ALWAYS had stated we wanted in the first place. He denied it was included in the bid & then said so do you want an estimate? Oh please! Seriously?? When my husband said no, that we had discussed that was part of the original work, Jesus just hung up on him! I have had a service business myself for 30 yrs, & I know you do NOT treat customers that way if you want to keep them. We would been more than happy to pay him more for downspouts if only he had done the responsible thing, & admit his daughter made a mistake, & try to solve the problem, like a grown up.

He got up on to the ladder, climbed up my 20 ft roof (that I didnt want to), and drilled in one side himself for free so the gutter could last the next couple rainy days until I could get him and his crew to properly fix it. Jesus is a consummate professional who cares about his customers and the quality of his and his teams work. I had Jesus quote me an estimate for new gutters at my house, but then I postponed installation as my wife and I decided to paint our house. Not only was the estimate done the day after I first called, Jesus remembered our original interaction and still had the original estimate in his records when I called back 6 months later to do the install. The work was done quickly and his guys even let me tweak a few things on the fly during the install. And on top of this Discount Rain Gutters price was the lowest of all the quotes I solicited, ~20% lower than the next lowest quote.My experience with Jesus and Discount Rain Gutters didnt end there however. During a rainstorm a few weeks after the installation, I noticed one section of gutters along my garage was slightly drooping and causing water to flow over the sides a little. I called Jesus and he came over that evening after finishing up another job to take a look. He told me hed have his guys come and redo the section in question ASAP at no charge. I called DGR the next day to schedule service, only to be informed that a team had already been by that morning and fixed the section. Too often as a consumer I am forced to followup with service vendors to ensure things get done and dont fall through the cracks, and it was a pleasant surprise to work with a vendor who is organized, efficient, and follows through with what he says. I was glad to have all the gutters working great during the recent heavy rains in central Texas!

They did my side and back rain gutters since my home builder only gave me front ones on my new home and adding them through the builder was going to be very expensive. Which business owner calls their clients bad names? This one does. I scheduled an estimate using the website. My appointment was for Thursday. Tuesday at 10:PM, this man texts me saying he would be at my house the next day between 8am - 2pm. Very unprofessional contacting me so late in the evening. I told him that I was scheduled for Thursday and to not come to my house on Wednesday.So, if it wasnt unprofessional enough contacting me so late in the evening, he texted me before 8am the next morning. I told him to stop texting me. His reply was Thats how late ihave to work so I can give you a free estimate you stupid idiot.I blocked his number.So, yea, Im not interested in sitting around for 6 hours waiting for someone to come out to give me an estimate. I dont need a free estimate. I have plenty of money. if it requires some to be treated professionally and respectfully, I will spend it. But like everything in life, kindness and respect are free to give and dont need to be paid for. And just look online, there are plenty of gutter companies in the great Austin area.
