Ive never liked going to car service shops. Always ripping you off and doing half donkey work. Steves Family Auto is not one of these places. Honest and fair. Very transparent in what they plan on doing for you and upfront. Had been taking my car to the dealer and they were giving me the run around and just putting band-aids on the problem. Took it to Steves and within 15 minutes had diagnosed the true problem and given me the solution. Will always recommend them to anyone who asks for a good mechanic shop. Also if the family reads this, thank you and keep up the good work!

I found Steves while visiting from out of town. My windshield wipers had stopped working and the region was being pelted by snowstorms. They got me in at a time when they could look at my car right away so as to limit my time in the waiting room during the Covid pandemic. Within half an hour they had diagnosed and fixed the problem and had me on my way.I chose Steves from an Internet search because they were a locally owned family run business. I made a good choice. They were friendly, knowledgeable, professional and I couldnt believe how reasonable the charges were. Should I ever have problems with my vehicle while in the area again I wont hesitate to take it to Steves. And I am happy to give this family owned and run business my recommendation.

They provide everything you would expect out of a quality shop and then some. Very nice facility, always clean. A friendly welcoming staff that treat you with respect. I took my old car in here the first time and fixed it. There was a problem with that part and fixed it under a warranty. Also, needed them to look at locks. My bill could have been pretty high and I was warned ahead of time. Turns out they didn’t need the part and it was all fixed at way less then the estimate. How many times in your life does that actually happen?? Couldn’t be more pleased with their work, communication, and honesty. This is what you’re looking for in a family auto repair shop

Our family has been taking our cars here for many years now. We keep going back because we trust them. They are really honest with us about our cars and their needs. For example, today I took in my car and said I was getting a brake fluid light, and that I thought I might need a brake fluid flush, new pads, or both. When I picked up the car, they said the brakes were in great shape, the fluid was fine - but just low. So they topped it off and said thats all that they needed to do. I really appreciate their honesty. If someone wanted, they could tell me something needed to be fixed and I wouldnt know any better. But I trust the people at Steves.And when one of our cars DOES need more extensive maintenance, I know theyre telling me the truth. Their pricing is very reasonable, too. I feel like they see me as someone they want to help when they can, rather than someone to charge a lot for work that may or may not be needed.

Steve’s Family Auto is the best shop for miles.Steve and his staff are the friendliest, most helpful people when it comes to cars. They’re quick and they make the process very simple.I’ve been bringing my cars to Steve since I got my first car. I’ve had two 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokees and a 2003 Wrangler that all run like they’re new thanks to the experts over at Steve’s family auto.A quick testimonial to the dedication at Steve’s Family Auto:My wife’s 2012 Chevy Cruze had a fault that showed a Transmission over heating code and an alert for that on the dash screen. This caused the engine fan to go nuts and the A/C would never turn on. The transmission was not overheating though. She’s had this car since before we got married and taken it to a few people and shops to get it checked out and they always replaced the trans temp sensor. But since getting married, I decided to take it to Steve. He and his staff tracked this issue all the way back to the coolant temp sensor by going through all the parts that were “overheating” in the matter of an afternoon. I would’ve never thought it was the coolant sensor and apparently no one else did either, but now the Cruze drives great and there’s no faults. The A/C turns on and the engine fan doesn’t go insane.So if you’re looking for dedicated and thorough staff, honest and affordable prices, and the easiest maintenance experience, go to Steve’s Family Auto. I’ve always had 10/10 service and never once have I been disappointed.

I believe I posted a review before but don’t see it anymore.I have brought in a car four times and am generally very satisfied with Steve’s.I had to bring my silver Honda Fit in three times for the a/c; summer of 2017, summer of 2018, and just picked it up today. In 2016, I had another shop look at it but they just kept recharging/flushing the system and couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working properly, and assumed it was the compressor. I wasn’t confident in the other shops and left it for 2016. Come 2017, wanting another set of eyes, I took it to Steve’s. He was very thorough over the phone and explained everything they checked and essentially narrowed it down to the compressor likely being the issue. I was confident enough and went with it.The price was a tad high but still very fair. Unfortunately, my wife noticed immediately after that it was making a weird noise. I took a look and saw the clutch slipping. Luckily, they said it was covered under warranty and replaced it at no charge.Come 2018, the a/c started to not kick on intermittently. After several weeks of intense trouble shooting by Steve himself, he was able to narrow it down to the computer unit. We replaced that along with a few other items and it seems to work very reliably. He also replaced the compressor again during the troubleshooting since it was still under warranty just to be safe.Come 2019, it stopped working again. Because Steve was familiar with the car, he personally worked on it again. After a week of troubleshooting, he narrowed it down to the compressor again, which was well out of the 1 year warranty now. Fortunately, Steve went out of his way to push for the warranty and actually succeeded and got it replaced for free!! The time they have put into this haunted a/c system is significant. And only a shop who stands behind their work would have done that in my opinion.The only other time I used their services was bringing in a “new to me” Honda Fit of in for some minor repairs and too look at the loose steering system. They performed the minor repairs well but could not find anything wrong with the steering. After driving this vehicle for another couple weeks, I am sure that there’s something wrong with the steering. I’ll likely bring the car back in eventually and maybe see if I can get an appointment for Steve to look at it himself, as whatever technician looked at it before did not succeed.Overall, highly recommend the shop, but specifically Steve himself.

I have never been inclined to write a review for a business before. Until now.I made an appointment to take a truck to Steve’s. After all, I thought that it would be good to support local people. I dropped the truck off the night before, filled out the ticket to go with the keys, and I thought that would be sufficient. After all, I left my number on the ticket.Having gotten no phone calls from Steve’s by end of day on the day my vehicle was supposed to be there, I called to inquire. Their response was “Oh, yeah! We wanted to talk to you about your truck. ... We’ll get it in the bay tonight and work on it tomorrow.” This can be “Day 1”.No big deal. It’s the truck that my kid drives, he’s out of town for a few more days, no big time constraint.At the end of the next day, I still hadn’t heard anything. So, I called again. The response was similar. They’re gonna get to it, it “could be a substantial problem that won’t be known until they get further into it.”Got it! I specifically asked if they would take the first step, then we can evaluate whether it needs to be taken further. After all, there’s no sense in going for the big repair if the small one fixes it. I got complete agreement. I also got response that it will likely be done be done around mid-day and that they would call me. This was “Day 2”.Day 3... I hear nothing from this shop. Zero. Zip. Zilch. I call around 5, again, to see what I can get for an update. “Well, you know, blah, blah, blah...” Their actions have spoken substantially louder than their words at this point. I asked if I could expect the work to be done by lunch time on Day 4, they confirmed that this shouldn’t be an issue AT ALL, and so I gave the go ahead. After hanging up, I realized that this is like an impossible task for them, so I called them back to ask that they not do the work. I informed them that I would be by in the morning to get the truck.Day 4... I was in a meeting when Steve’s finally called me. Ironical. So, I went by there, asked if they would leave it at the lot next door if it being in their yard was too cumbersome. I spoke with Steve directly. He told me that he’d leave it next door, he’d put the key under the mat, and lock the doors. No biggie because I have the spare key in my truck, it’s out of their hair, I can bring my kid by that evening after I pick my kid up from the airport, and I don’t have to get an Uber/Lyft to bring me to the car. Fantastic!HERE’S THE BEST PART... After dealing with delays and problems picking my kid up at the airport, I get to the truck AFTER MIDNIGHT. As we pull up, I give my spare key to my kid. He walks up to the truck to find it unlocked with the keys in the ignition. UNLOCKED. WITH. THE. KEYS. IN. THE. IGNITION.What planet do these people come from??? The whole experience is repulsive to me!

These guys were great. Im in Connecticut but I needed my moms car looked at, and they accommodated everything.This was also one of the rare instances where I didnt feel rushed to get off the phone when I called. Usually when I call other repair shops, Im hurried to get my point across and theres a general feeling that they want me off the phone as quickly as possible. Steves is the opposite and they actually listen to what youre saying, and give great feedback about whats going on with the car. Thats huge, in my book.They even looked at the car after I had called admittedly very late in the day and they were very busy by that time.Not to mention the repairs and testing were done properly.So, in short - accommodating and professional!

My wife recently needed a steering alignment on her 2002 Chevy cavalier and so we decided to take it to Steves. While they had it they noticed that she also needed new struts and front brakes and rotors. We thought ok new struts would be a good idea and I ( her husband) could do the brakes as I’ve done them my whole life. He continued to argue with her that they should replace the brakes and it would be better and that price was $254 JUST for the front. Which this isn’t even the problem. Problem was with our final bill.... she was charged $181 per strut and over 3.5 hours of labor added with a front end alignment to a grand total of over $700. I am convinced that she was taken advantage of for being a female and had the most top of the line struts put on because that is extremely outrageous for struts and an alignment. Even the brakes were very steep. I found her oem replacement struts full assembly for 64 a piece so please ask questions when getting work done and be very aware of what they are doing anywhere.

I just wrote a review about Steves Auto a very lengthy one & then it was gone. Well Let me say this, When you are told by Auto Zone & AAA that there was nothing wrong with my starter & Steve insisted it was the starter when it WAS NOT My Cost $373.00 for a starter I did not need !!! (POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE ) THAT HAD BARE WIRES was the cause of the cars problem. Thanks to Mike @ AT ANTHONY WAYNE SERVICE IN MONCLOVA, OH.
