Coaching used to be a key priority here yet that’s changed along the way as the owner continues to choose to take advantage of naive and vulnerable prior paying ‘athletes’ with his tendency to become infatuated with more than just “coaching” them. Come to discover, it appears to be an unsuspected habit of his…
It’s been a couple years since I’ve been to PBCF and in the mean time I’ve been to a lot of crossfit gyms in a lot of different towns. Randy and his gym are the best I’ve ever been to and it’s not even close. Each new place I go to has me wishing I was still stationed in Pensacola and going to PBCF!
Was fortunate enough to drop in for a few visits while on vacation. Its a small gym which is one of their many positives. Small classes means more one on one with knowledgeable coaches. If you are looking to take your fitness to the next level, this is the gym/box for you. Theyll have to you reaching beyond what you thought was possible.
Randy could very well be the reason I’m healthy with functioning kidneys today. He’s more invested and intelligent on health than the ER doctors and personal trainers I’ve dealt with. That aside, the workouts here are great and I noticed a massive improvement in my fitness from going here. The classes didn’t work well with my schedule and I ended up moving away, but it seems to be the best CrossFit in Pensacola (I grew up here and have tried everywhere at least once). Here’s the story behind the health comment:Last year I was working with a personal trainer and stopped by for the Murph workout because I was interested in starting CrossFit when I was done working with her. He suggested I didn’t do the whole thing since he didn’t know my fitness level (thank God) so I did I think 1/4 of it. Well, I didn’t nourish myself properly and worked out/was active in the sun all day after and ended up getting hospitalized for four days due to rhabdo. I sent him a picture of the injury and despite my trainer and the ER staff saying I was fine, I pushed to be tested due to his recommendation and was about 7-8x the hospitalization limit. I know people can self treat rhabdo, but I’m thankful for his insight and recommendation to go get professional help. Your health and fitness will be the top priority at Perdido Bay and it will be in the best hands possible.
Randy is an intensely dedicated CF coach. I did a couple of drop-ins on a recent visit to the Pensacola area, and was given immensely useful feedback by Randy. If you are looking to get better, get yourself to Randys gym and he will start you on the path to awesomeness. Thanks, Randy! Hope to see you next year!
Clean inside and out. But definitely more cardio machines than weights available
I visited for a drop-in Hero WOD one Saturday while in the area. Clean facility with top notch equipment and instruction from Jensen. Had a blast and do want to come back for another drop-in when Im back in town. Great example of how the CrossFit family and culture works. I was welcomed in.
Stop looking for another gym. Perdido Bay Crossfit is by far the best gym you are going to find. This place has the best coaches and such a sense of community that anyone who walks through the doors will feel welcome no matter their skill level. PBCF is a great place!
You can count on feeling accepted, well-coached, and encouraged. What a group. Thank you!!
I absolutely loved the coaching style the coaches there offered! The kept the classes small to ensure everyone got the personal attention they needed. Plus, I loved how they tailored the WODs for me when I couldnt do certain workouts due to a shoulder injury.
This is my second year in a row to drop in for the week, and I can confidently say this is a great box where you will feel at home while on vacation.
Came in for a drop in, coach was excellent and the place was a little small but very nice would definitely go back
Great coaches!
Amazing
