This hospital was available when we did not know what was wrong with our puppy. Yes there was a very long wait, however, it was a holiday weekend. They were also very accommodating even though I had told them someone in our house tested positive for Covid. They treated our pet with respect and let us know their findings. Unfortunately, it was a terminal diagnosis that devastated our family. Dr. Linton was extremely informative and polite. We were even given a discount on services to help pay for the treatment. We decided to try and help our pet at home, but after a day, we ended up bringing her back for euthanasia. (It was a holiday weekend so our vet wasn’t open on Monday) We knew going to an ER vet, the fees would be much higher, but the employees and Dr were extremely understanding. Dr. Linton called me to tell me how brave we were for making this hard, but selfless decision for our pup. Since we did have Covid exposure, my husband could not be inside during the procedure, so they brought her out to him one last time and gave him a moment of peace. That is truly something special that he will forever remember. Thank you so much to Dr. Linton and her team! We are forever grateful for you!! The Roman’s

Great communication, fast service, honest and compassionate. I especially love that this emergency clinic transfers care to your vet so you do not have to pay the outrageous daily care rate 24hr places charge. I have used emergency vet care a couple of times and this place by far has been the best. My vet recommended this clinic along with a few others closer to me and glad I chose to drive 30 minutes out of the way. The initial visit alone was $30-$40 cheaper than the others. The receptionist was informative and quick to send me the registration form to complete prior to coming. When I got there, I notified the receptionist via call (not allowed in due to covid concerns…understandable). The nurse came and took my cat in within 15min of arrival. There were several people there before me so I expected to wait a few hours. Within 1-1.5hrs, the vet called me, discussed his findings and recommendations. He left no detail out and provided me notice of all the “if we find this, we will have to do this” scenarios. The tests performed were expected and he did not recommend “unnecessary “ tests. He provided me with an estimate, I agreed and he then passed me over to the receptionist. The receptionist took my payment and let me know what to expect for pick up the next morning. When I picked my cat up to transfer his care to my vet, the doctor called me, explained all that they did in detail and provided follow up care instructions. Two techs/nurses brought my baby out with all of his medical records a copy of his X-ray, my bill and discussed his medication needs. To my surprise, I even got a refund! When I reviewed my bill, I was happy to see that it was not itemized and that I was not charged for every little thing (gloves used, booties, gauze, etc) like other emergency clinics do. By the time I made it to my vet (50 minutes away) the clinic had already faxed the medical records over for review. Any animal emergency clinic you visit, you can expect to pay a large sum of money but this visit did not cost me what I had expected to pay and I feel they were reasonably priced in comparison to other vet emergency places. If I ever experience another animal emergency (knock on wood) I will definitely make the trip here. Thanks to all the staff members working the evening of 7/2/21! Y’all were great!

Dr. VanDyke and her team did a great job taking care of my 5 month old puppy who had parasites. Our puppy started getting serious GI symptoms in the middle of the night at 4 am and this clinic was the only one willing to take her in. They were very nice, explained everything and treated her correctly. Took her to her primary care vet 4 days later and her parasites were gone and shes feeling much better. Thank you for helping us in this time of need!

We brought in a rescue puppy Sunday afternoon. We weren’t allowed inside and were told we were required to stay there. Five hours in the heat later, the vet recommended he be euthanized because the owner was “imagining”he was able to run and play previously. As a common courtesy, the first desk should let everyone know you will be in for a several hours wait, and your animal will be placed inside of a cage for that period of time. For pets, who have anxiety issues, this is not a good thing. It did not surprise me that I was told my animal was not happy with being seen. I spent between $110 and $140 dollars between the visit and medicine and my dog was given two diagnosis. When I followed-up with our vet, he refuted one of the diagnosis the emergency clinic gave as well as the cause of the second diagnosis. Money wasted and lesson learned that unless my dog is in a life threatening emergency find another emergency clinic, if not try to squeeze your dog in for an appointment with the vet. Money wasted and worried for nothing.

Unprofessional personal of the clinic. Very stressful and unpleasant experience. It took for us more than 3 hours to find that the facility is not capable of doing a Lyme disease test, which our pet required.Explaining right away that the dog is experiencing symptoms of Lyme, and she was diagnosed with it less than 3 months ago, did not help. No one cared to find out that this test is not preformed at this clinic. No one cared to tell us which place should we go to the test instead. The dog was stressed out, waited for nearly two hours for nothing.

Last month, our sweet pup, Jack, suddenly got ill and we rushed him here since it was the weekend. Unfortunately, we had to put him to sleep. Dr. VanDyke was so loving and gentle with him. In fact, she cried right along with us when she was administering the medicine, which in a way brought us some comfort because we could feel her compassion and we are sure our sweet Jack felt the love and peace as he drifted off to sleep. We had him cremated, and we just received his ashes. We were honestly expecting a sealed plastic bag and nothing more, but we were so impressed with the care and thought that went into the presentation. We even received an unexpected gift in memory of our Jack. While I would never wish this on anyone, I highly recommend this clinic if you have a pet emergency. Even though over the phone they said there was a long wait, we just took him in as we were running out of options. My recent experience with Pearland 288 animal emergency clinic. I have used their services in the past with no issues. However, my recent visit 3-13-2021, I brought in my 1 week old puppies because they were in distress i.e trouble breathing, aspirating. They were at the hospital for 8 hours and nothing was done for them for the first 4.5 hours then the doctor called, to find out why my puppies were there for in first place, this tells me my puppies were suffering for 4.5 hours they then said they were monitoring their vitals, no additional intervention were done at this time, and then the doctor called and said she recommended to do X-Rays before discussing treatment, then 2.5 hours later I didn’t have any information and I called them again, to find out the prognosis for my puppies. On top of that the medical staff were very rude to me, no empathy by the staff for my hard situation. All I want to know is how my puppies are doing, but the communication is not there! After 8 hours of me constantly calling for updates they then told me that they gave them IV with sub cutaneous fluids, and Ampicillin injections.

Our experience with Dr. Linton and all of the amazing staff (sorry I cant remember all of your names) was nothing short of amazing. The accommodation, compassion, and respect shown by everyone there towards my family as we said goodbye to our darling 15-year old dog Casey brought a little light into a very dark day for us. Also, as a veterinarian from another city whos done my fair share of after-hours emergency work, it did not escape me how quickly staff attended to the patients as they presented, how thorough their questions were, how clean the facility was, and how reasonable their prices were (at least, for the services my family and I needed). As a small animal ER doctor, this is a place I would consider working at. As a pet owner, this is a place I would not hesitate to bring my pets to, and I cant thank them enough for everything they did for us.

Late last night I realized that my dog who was diagnosed with cancer, was struggling to breathe and that we were going to have to euthanize him sooner than expected. I called the emergency clinic and spoke to a person who seemed very compassionate and confirmed they were 24 hours and I also wanted to get the cost to have him euthanized, cremated and have his remains and a plaque returned to me. Because I didnt want to show up to have him euthanized and they say I have to pay a different amount, that would be the last thing I wanted to deal with,is going over a bill while saying goodbye to my faithful and loving family member. I was given a price and I repeated twice what I wanted done and confirm the price. My little guy lasted the night so when I got up I called again told the person that spoke to (employee name) last night and I wanted to make sure the price she quoted me for what I wanted was correct. The person confirmed it was. When I got there and they took my little guy in the back to prepare him for his last few minutes on this Earth, I was told the price was almost $180 more than what was told to me. Shame on you (employees) for acting like you cared and for lying to me. I gave this emergency clinic a 3 star because they took my dog immediately, have him drugs to be comfortable and the vet on duty was compassionate. Wish their employees that answer the phone would have had common sense and told me the truth, I would have still brought him vs. putting me through so much by trying to figure out why I was being charged more, when I was trying to deal with letting my little guy cross over the rainbow bridge.

Because our veterinarian (vet) was on vacation, we desperately needed to locate an emergency clinic/hospital that could remove a spleen mass from our American Bulldog. We took her to the specialist clinic recommended by our vet but we were not convinced that they should do the procedure. Even though, we wanted to wait until our vet returned, there was this nagging caution, because if this spleen burst, we could loss our beloved pet. So, we searched for another clinic; and, after reviewing Google reviews and calling a number of clinics, we found this amazing facility. The most impressive and deciding action that we had located the best for our dog was after explaining to the receptionist, my needs, she said she needed to talk to the vet. She (who I thought was the receptionist) returned and provided the most detail explanation of the conditions that our pet faced, which included the pros and cons of this horrific mass; cancerous versus benign tumor; whether or not it had attached to other organs; etc. As I thanked the receptionist by name, it was then, that I was made aware that I was talking to the doctor who would do the procedure. I was so impressed by the fact that the vet would personally take the time to talk to me that my heart knew that our dog needed this surgery, now. So, I am honored to rank them as absolutely amazing. They treated our pet as if she were a member of their pet family; the doctor was absolutely brilliant and ensued we knew and understood the recommended approach; and, more importantly, they kept us informed throughout the procedure. For example, we knew when she went to surgery; and, afterwards, we received a call from a staff member to tell us how she responded during surgery. And, as promised, the doctor personally called us, even though it was at 12:27 AM to provide us with an update of her findings. This is an amazing facility and it did not matter that this location was about an hour away from our home. We wanted the best for our pet and Pearland 288 Animal Emergency exceeded every expectation!

So the vet suggested euthanasia. She even performed a complimentary X-ray to show the blockage in heart. She was very kind, compassionate, graceful, and knowledgeable. She kindly gave me options and told me what would happen if I chose certain options. I was taken to the back with my pet to witness the euthanasia and everything. After that they even gave us a room and allowed us alone time with him. Then we paid for the cremation with return of ashes and went on our way. Sad, yes. (In case you didn’t know, this very common ingredient in household items and foods is poisonous to dogs.) As soon as we realized what happened we rushed him to the vet, but it was already in his system. Our vet immediately began tests to determine the effect of the xylitol on his system and began care on our little guy. He was on medications to protect his liver and an IV drip for hypoglycemia from Tuesday morning until they were able to wean him off so that we could bring him home on Friday. During the evening we transferred him to Pearland 288 for care and i was extremely happy with their service and level of care. The technicians cuddled and pet my pup while they nurses him back to health. Without their superior care for our pup, he surely would not have survived this ordeal. Dr. Van Dyke gave me the details of the various test results, what they meant, what options / choices I had to work with, and were supportive and tenderly responsive through my tears and choked voice. I was enabled to work though the life event we were progressing toward and make the decision that I was the most comfortable with. I chose to return home with my pet to enable the rest of the family to say so long prior to passing. My local veterinarian received the patient notes via email as well as the set of notes I was given prior to leaving the clinic.I felt very blessed to have had this team care for my cat and me. Thank you very much Dr Van Dyke and staff. This is clinic is a valuable asset to the community and the staff is TOP NOTCH. I would willing visit this clinic again for any veterinary emergency.

Our pupper recently got out and went missing for a day. Thankfully he was found but it was evident that he got clipped by an oncoming vehicle. Our dog wasn’t in too serious condition but we did noticed a big rash near his groin. Took him in around 10:30PM. The receptionist was very sweet and did warn me that the wait might be 2 hours due to the previous patients coming in. I agreed since I wanted to make sure our pup was fine. A nurse/assistant (maybe doctor?? Regardless) did come out after ten minute of filling out paperwork to have a quick check with my pup. She took him in the back to see if there was any major injuries that needed immediate treatment. She came back and said it doesn’t look like an emergency but definitely would be best to do a follow up with my local vet. She was super sweet and kind to my pupper. You can really tell that she loves animals. Overall, everyone there took care of me and my pup and I would come back if anything was to happen in the future.

I brought my dog in after she accidentally ingested sugar-free gum with xylitol which is very toxic to dogs. The whole staff was amazing. The front desk staff greeted me promptly, my dog was immediately brought to the back of the ER and had several staff members attending to her. The vets were both great, Bella had to stay for 48 hrs in the hospital and I received shift status reports twice a day on her progress. My baby was very well taken care of and monitored very closely. I would highly recommend this ER to anyone who has a pet emergency!! Thank you for being here and being open when our vet is not! :)

Last night I came to the gut wrenching realization it was time for Riley to be put down. I found myself on Google (I felt horrible, my Riley deserves more than this) trying to find a clinic open 24 hours to take him to. When I arrived, the receptionist was immediately caring. The technician was also very caring and, came out with a warm blanket for my Riley. When it was time, I met the veterinarian (sorry I do not remember her name, I was a mess) she was so kind and gentle. I appreciate her kind words and compassion. I am glad I came across this kind and, caring staff and, would recommend them.

We were thoroughly impressed by the bedside manner of both the Techs and the Vet, Dr. Linton. Our dog was experiencing respiratory issues related to illness and the team here immediately jumped into action to help stabilize him. After he was stabilized the Vet was extremely patient with us as we said final goodbyes. She explained everything that she would be doing in a very sincere and compassionate way, talked us through the purpose of each step in the process, and we could tell she was truly sorry for what our dog (and us) had been through that day.

I’m so thankful for this hospital. I rescued a puppy at 8weeks old and had her for only 3 days when we noticed she wasn’t acting like a regular puppy. We took her to the vet and they referred us to Pearland 288, Thank you got Kathy being so patient and understand with us new parents. She let us know that Lily(our puppy) needed to be hospitalized 24 hours and had and also Receive blood transfusion. We picked her up the next day and saw she had become a completely different puppy. Thank you for saving her.

Today I called the clinic because my neighbors cat was severely injured by their own dog. They left the cat on their front lawn and didnt stop me when I said I would find a vet clinic and have her put to sleep to put her out of her misery. I called this clinic, which I have never been to before and was told that if the animal had to be put down they would do it and only ask for money for the disposal fee. The staff was professional and compassionate. The service was very prompt and the veterinarian was very straight with me about what could be done for the feline. The cat was put to sleep and they allowed me to take her body so I could have the neighbors bury it. I wanted the neighbors to share the responsibility of their negligence and did not want to burden the clinic with the disposal of their cat at my financial expense. I am glad for this clinic and its humane policies. While I waited, I noticed how clean the hospital is, how prompt the staff is, and how nice everyone is.I am grateful to them and recommend them.

Overpriced & long wait time. We brought in our fur baby Lucy, I became worried when I got home from work & noticed she was just laying there not moving & really weak. I felt I could not wait until the next morning to take her to our regular vet, & decided to bring here here. We waited about 2 hours until one of the staff members came out & told us they would need to draw labs to see what is wrong & then provide a diagnosis & treatment plan from there. When she provided the pricing of the lab order I was shocked it was so high. I told her no that’s ok we’ll just wait to take her to her vet in the morning. She said ok let me let the Dr. know & she came back & stated the Dr. recommends the solution injection for her dehydration & still the prices were to overpriced. We then waited for her discharge paperwork waited another hour. We took her to her regular vet in the morning & the diagnosis, labs, & medicine came out less from what just the lab order & exam here consisted of. I do not recommend this place.

My senior parents took their dog to this emergency clinic. Although, she was unable to be saved, the doctor and staff spent a day and a half doing everything they could to help. They were extremely caring and compassionate. They also kept my parents updated on her condition . In addition, they showed compassion with the bill when they certainly could have charged much more creating an additional hardship on people that were already grieving. I would highly recommend their services.

Ive come here twice with my pomeranians. Once as a transfer from my vet for overnight observation after chocolate ingestion and again for a possible dropped pill ingestion. Both times the staff were courteous, friendly, professional, and did a great job with my babies. I will not hesitate to return here. They very clearly go over the charges with you after doing an assessment and work with you to find a good plan for your pet. They are not trying to gouge you. I was very hesitant to take my dog anywhere other than my usual vet, but she hurt herself on a Sunday so the normal vet wasnt an option. We drove over an hour to get here because it had the best reviews of all of the emergency vets. I was uneasy when they took my dog back without me, but after speaking to the vet I am 100% sold on this place. All of my animals will be coming here if the usual vet is unavailable. She discussed the options, I explained that we were not exactly rich and if she didnt feel that waiting a day on x-rays would advesrly impact the dog that I would really like to wait and she said that was absolutely acceptable, she never tried to pressure us into spending more money than necessary and I really appreciate that. I was fully prepared to max out my credit card to take care of my dog, and I am very grateful that it didnt come to that. I understand why it has such high reviews now, absolutely worth the road trip to get here!!

We took our Yorkie, Darla, there after being severely attacked by the neighbors German Shepard. Dr. Linton was excellent and after major surgery, lots of fluids, and several days in and out Darla is back to her old self. Very compassionate and generous in my opinion! Darla has always been shakey when going to groomer or vet, but when going back for follow ups and re-bandaging, she walked in like she owned the place so we even finished with them instead of our normal vet!

My 3 month old puppy started throwing up and wouldnt stop on a Saturday evening. He kept throwing up bile so we took him into this place. It took them 3 HOURS to take a parvo test and a stool sample. They did their job but they need to be more efficient. The place was not busy, they had a few dogs on the back on their kennels and just my puppy and another dog came on with an emergency (and the other dog owners waited 3hours and a half to get out of there with their dog still coughing bad and having to take their dog some place else). Drive a little bit more but dont go to this place unless you want to spend the night to maybe have your dog be treated.

Was able to call and get my puppy in right away. They took her back the moment I walked in & expressed pain meds to comfort her & attesting for possible front leg break. Very impressive! Vet explained puppy was somewhat weight bearing some of her weight on hurt leg and should be pain free rest of the night. Veterinarian was very nice & helpful. Staff was pleasant & welcoming.Sadly our puppy started whimpering when we got into the car and was definitely hurting when we returned home about 20 mins later. When my family agreed we couldn’t afford what they were charging us and would have go wait to take her to her vet on Monday, they returned her saying she had pooed blood on herself. They left the blood and didn’t change the pee pad before handing her back to us.

Based on a single experience (03/23/19) I can, and do, recommend you go here if you need emergency help for your furry loved one. There are however some small caveats/issues preventing this from being 5 stars. Im a little conflicted between whether the 5th star should be awarded but I will explain below and hopefully you can interpret for yourselves. Overall the experience was positive, though it was a bit of a rollercoaster. Background:Rescue puppy from BARC, 5mo, very little history available, presents with diarrhea over 48+ hrs period, dehydration, lethargy, loss of appetite. Has already been to regular vet prior day and earlier this day to receive exam, antibiotics, fluids, anti-nausea, parvo test etc. Unfortunately he starts crashing again around 10:00 PM. We would not arrive at the ER until 12 AM midnight. The good:-Prior to deciding to come in, we called, phone was promptly answered. The staff were courteous and put the nurse on to talk to us.-Receptionist was pleasant and easy to talk to-Upfront about pre treatment exam cost-Upon arrival we were treated well by the receptionist and a nurse came right out to get our background and take notes-They were upfront about experiencing a very high volume of cases this evening and that significant delay could be expected-Vet walked us through recommended treatment plan, answered all questions, and was generally patient despite being rushed to get back to other patients.-Tech that discharged us was knowledgeable and able to answer questions regarding the administration of medicine and other guidelines. She was also pleasant, open with information, and in good humor.-Pricing was reasonable. And they even discounted some services. When we went to pay it rang up low and I asked to confirm, she did and explained some fees were waived. This would have been cause to adjust to five stars but she could not explain why the fees had been waived. If it had been in direct response to the issues (even only one or two) listed below, acknowledging the problem and intending to make amends I would feel they mean to prevent this from repeating and understood the service was not what it should/could have been. The bad:- Finding the place felt a little tricky, more prominent, better lit signage could have been helpful.- They immediately took our baby from us and into the back. Initially we appreciated the sense of urgency but there was no further information while we waited and we could not see our dog or what they were doing, complete lack of transparency. A glass wall would really help a lot here.- We waited over an hour and a half before being moved to a consultation room. During this time there were relatively few people in the lobby, though people came out of the consultation rooms, paid for, and then left a few times. The receptionist did not appear overly busy but did not provide regular updates or any information. When I finally became impatient and asked what was going on she said she would check. She did and returned to tell us we would move to a room shortly. I had to ask what that means and if the dog had been examined yet, she explained he had, and that we would be informed of recommended treatment plan shortly.- Moving to the consult room we then further waited at least fifteen minutes without word or our dog.- The tech giving the initial consult and briefing us on the treatment plan was virtually worthless. He did not seem knowledgeable, he was combative when I asked questions, and basically presented us with an itemized invoice asking us to agree to the treatment plan. No prognosis, no options, no update on the dogs status, no details on what had been examined, etc. I had to insist to talk to the vet. He was a younger male, dark hair, shortish, average build, Latino in appearance. ASK FOR SOME ONE ELSE IMMEDIATELY. This is the primary reason I dinged them this guy needs to improve his act or be let go.- We then waited again... Still no dog or status update.... Until being seen by vet as described above.Overall positive experience but room to improve
