Debbie took the time to show us multiple options, thoroughly explain the process for selection and installation, and was very personable and a pleasure to deal with. The same could be said for each member of the McNamara staff that we had any interaction with.As someone in the construction industry, it can’t be overlooked that McNamara’s installers were a great representation of the company. McNamara is a good professional company.My Central AC stopped working and when I called McNamara, they sent a guy out to diagnosis my problem.Due to the age of my system I asked for a quote to repair my existing system and the cost to replace the whole system. With in a couple of hours i received the quote for both requests.I decided to change the entire HVAC system. I was put on the schedule and he arrived on the day he promised. Bob and his crew were wonderful. They did a clean and neat job. The job came at a fair price also. I did do some research on this which is how I know about the pricing.Bobs final bill came with a detailed list of manufacturer warranty/McNamara Warranty/ and everything that was installed.It was just so nice and painless. A few days out, I am happy to be cooling off again!!!!

I recently had multiple installs at my home including updating of old AC unit, whole house air purification system and dehumidifier system for my basement. Customer Service, always seems to not be there when you need it most. Not the case with McNamara. This company installed a Mitsubishi split air unit for us several years ago. It has been quite reliable until a week ago when it would not turn on. One call to McNamara and we had a tech out in a few days to diagnose and repair. They couldn’t fix the problem day one. The owner told us the fix was a two man job. They were booked solid for weeks but would make an effort to come back once an opening could be had. Less than a week later the call came. Mr. McNamara wanted to get the job in before bad weather and the predicted heat. Bob McNamara himself showed up, tech in tow and knocked it out. Consider this company a go to for your needs.

I recently had my home central air-conditioning system replaced by McNamara. They completed a great job. From when I first called the office to obtain a quote, and throughout the entire process, install, post-install check, etc., etc., everyone was very professional, eager to do the right thing, and making sure I as the customer was well taken care of and pleased. I suffered a serious fire in my home and home office mid-June 2020. Prior to the fire I had a wood burning fireplace that I enjoyed for many years, It was not the cause of the fire but was destroyed. Naturally, I wanted a fireplace again and this time I decided I would get a gas operated fireplace. To that end I visited McNamaras in Pearl River, NY to see what options there were.I felt very comfortable in their showroom and was provided with all the information I needed over the course of a few visits to confidently select the right fireplace for my home. After the Clear Face model I selected arrived an initial installation was performed. Since there was construction going on inside the area of the living room where the new fireplace was placed, there was a second visit by the installation departments Roy who carefully checked all aspects of the construction and gas line related to my new fireplace and that left a final visit and the completion of the installation making sure everything was correct, safe and ready for use.Besides the attention to detail during the final installation, Roy who performed it had an easy to like personality and sense of humor that made me laugh a number of times during the process!Im glad I chose McNamaras... From the beginning discussing the options with Linda, through the final installation by Roy I felt appreciated and well taken care of!Thanks to all of you!!

McNamara sent their person to my condo who claimed that my fireplace had been altered and in its present condition couldn’t be converted to gas or even used for wood!!! Not true as I’m the original owner and all I’ve done is have it cleaned. He said the cap on mine was different from my neighbors but not all units here have fireplaces so how would he know? In short my complaint was not handled well since the man who came here was the one who responded to my complaint! He tried to upsell me too by saying it could be fixed for $7500+ and I could finance it! I’m disappointed in this company.

Ive had Bob over for first my pilot light out, then most recently to replace my wall AC Mitsubishi unit. Ive super happy with everything he and his team did. The short version: McNamara was GREAT in every way- knowledgeable, pleasant, and SO easy to work with.Now comes the story: We had been searching for a gas insert fireplace for several seasons, not quite sure if we should get one ( to replace our seldom-used wood burning fireplace). Would it be worth the cost? Would we find a log set that looked authentic, and would the burn pattern feel realistic? Would the heat be significant, and would we find a timer and thermostat for the unit?We had been to a few (recommended) showrooms before we got to McNamara. Confusion and disinterest. My experience exceeded my expectations . From the first call to the receptionist who was helpful and friendly, to the highly professional work which followed . As promised I got a call back the day I called and a friendly tech to my house to assess the job the next day. The following day as promised I recieved an estimate which seemed fair for the installation of a new heating and airconditioning zone with new duct work . On the day I was promised for installation 2 weeks later, they showed up in 3 vans with 4 or 5 techs at exactly the time agreed upon and had the installation complete by noontime. It works perfectly and they threw in 2 new thermostats that I requested on the instllation day at no extra cost . The owner came to inspect the job at the end of installation and was friendly and supportive. It is rare these days to get this level of concern and expertise, I very highly recommend them and will use them again in the future

I just had a gas stove fireplace installed by McNamaras. I can not express how happy I am and was through the whole process. Linda in the showroom was so knowledgeable and efficient. She made my life so easy providing me with everything need to get the permit. She was always there for my calls and followed up with all very efficiently. The installers were so polite, so clean, and very professional. I especially liked John who suggested how I could get around a few obstacles that were found, he helped me choose alternative products that I truly love now. I hardly ever go and give people reviews, but this company really deserves this review. They were great!

The owner came and gave me an estimate on replacing our cooling and heating system a couple of weeks ago. They turned around a quote and sent it to me on the same day.This morning the owner and his team of 4 others arrived just after 8 am and worked solidly for 4 hours until the systems were in place. We had a fireplace chosen and ready to go, just needed time securing a contractor. I called today to physically make a purchase with them and they kindly declined my business because I decided to go with a different retailer for a mantle/wall setup. They told me we dont want to do business with someone who doesnt want to do the entire thing with us. We dont know how we would work with people outside of our firm. A complete BS cop-out type of answer. I asked Linda if she was willing to walk from a $6,500 sale and she said Our owner, Bob, is a perfectionist and this is how he would want it done. They must be doing extremely well to turn away business during the pandemic.What a terrible terrible sales team.

Best place for all fireplace, woodstove need . We just purchased a fireplace insert from them. They gave us a reasonable quote and did everything they said they were going to do on time. They were professional, courteous and experts in their field. The installation ended up being cheaper than originally quoted and they passed the savings onto us. That never happens. We have used McNamara for the past few years on a recommendation from my parents who have had McNamara install their heating and cooling systems as well as their electric fireplace. They always rave about McNamaras work and trust his service. This past fall, we had them service our heating system. During the service they alerted us to a part that was nearing failure. Instead of trying to up sell us, Bob gave us a few options (including explaining how I could replace it myself). We decided to have the part replaced by McNamara to prevent a heating failure during the winter (and save some money on another service call). When they replaced the part and they gave me the old part it was obvious it was on borrowed time and needed to be replaced or it would have failed this winter. We recently decided to have McNamara install a central air system in our home. We were a little anxious about having work performed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Bob took the time to explain what measures and precautions they were taking to keep everyone safe during installations. We decided to have the install completed and we are so glad we did! Bob himself came and worked along side his crew. They worked hard to complete the installation in only 1 day. I cannot say enough about this family business. Very professional, friendly and do an amazing job. I have used McNamara for my heating and air conditioning for 8+ years now, always happy with their service. Just had to have my A/C unit replaced, they were in and out in just a few hours. Cant say enough good things about their service and highly recommend them.

McNamara installed our gas fireplace 3 years ago and it has been running great this whole time. They made the process very easy by explaining everything clearly and helped us select a beautiful log set for our fireplace which we use all the time. We had an issue with our boiler this weekend where the gas had to be shut off to our home and we are currently without heat. The owner was willing to make a last minute service call to get our fireplace back up and running to warm up our house. Great service and friendly staff at the showroom. I highly recommend them if you are considering installing or replacing your fireplace.

I cant say enough good things about Bob and his company. When Debbie (Bobs wife) answered the phone she told me that they were booked for about 4 weeks. A welcome bit of honesty vs. one of the big A/C companies that originally told me 1 week and then changed it to 6 weeks.Bob specd out a new system and sent his quote quickly. His price was very fair and there was no attempt to upsell. In fact, he encouraged me to purchase a new thermostat from my power company since it would be less than it costs him to buy wholesale.On the day of the install Bob showed up with a crew of 7. They made quick work of disassembling and removing the old central A/C and got the new system up and running. Bob even programmed that thermostat that I purchased elsewhere.Overall a fantastic experience.

I wish more businesses were like McNamara, they really get it right; everyone I’ve spoken with at the store as well as Roy, our install expert, has been wonderful, professional, friendly and knowledgeable.We needed new fireplace doors and screens for our fireplace, which is slightly off level. Roy managed to quickly and perfectly install these beautiful doors in no time.It is just so rare these days to conduct business with people who clearly love their business and respect their customers. They are delightful.

If I could could McNamara 10 stars I would. From starting the selection process of a gas fireplace insert, to the initial fireplace cleanup and inspection to the final installation, the process was seamless. They are professional, friendly and patient. The install was perfect and our family room now has a nice cosy warm feeling with no wasted heat loss. Were calling it the Winter Covid Room. While McNama might be a bit pricier that others in Rockland or even nearby Jersey, they are worth the difference in the way they perform from being to end.Highly recommend McNamara. Thank you!

After visiting several fireplace stores, we chose McNamara and could not be happier with our choice. Our salesperson (Linda) was very helpful and patient with us as we are novices at this. It was a no pressure sale with multiple visits from us. The installer (John) did an incredible job. We love the fireplace and McNamara!

Debbie was fantastic to work with - she was always willing to show us different options, and was very patient as we took our time and changed our minds multiple times. John and Roy were also great, and worked with our contractor to make sure everything came together perfectly.

Had a problem with my central AC last summer. After speaking to a few different companies, I went with McNamara to replace an old air handler last fall (they correctly told me I could afford to wait until the season was over). Couldn’t have been happier with the people, price, and quality of work. They came back for startup this spring and worked to find and fix a new problem (mice in the condenser). They’ve gained a customer for all my HVAC and fireplace business. Thanks again!

Weve had a really good experience with McNamara HVAC for the purchase and installation of two Mitsubishi ductless air/heating units. The installation was clean and quick and they gave us a solid recommendation on the electrical install we needed. What really gives me faith in them is when the heat stopped working on both units mid-winter, they came out the next day, found the problem (freon leak, outside their control), and fixed it right away. The email response time is also phenomenal. Theyre a family business, they take pride in what they do, and they know what theyre doing.

We purchased a freestanding gas fireplace. McNamara has a good selection of sample products in their showroom. Their staff is very knowledgeable about the products and the installation process. Installers were neat and completed their work as described, personable too. Its a long story but because of issues on our side the process took a long time. McNamara stuck with us patiently as we took care of our issues and we ended up with a wonderful outcome. Debby in particular is great to work with.
