I am very frustrated as I began seeing the orthotist in Dec 2020 for a new AFO. I told the orthotist that I had previously been told I needed a custom made AFO because my leg does not fit the standard off the shelf AFOs. They didnt believe me and gave me an off the shelf AFO in March 2021 and tried to modify it to fit my leg. Ive had nothing but problems with the new AFO, developed Achilles tendonitis along with knee and hip problems because the AFO turns my foot to the outside. Finally after 4 months of being in pain, the orthotist agreed that I needed a custom made AFO. It took 5 weeks to schedule the appointment for the casting, then I was told it would take an additional 6 weeks for the AFO to be made. Finally, today 8/19/21 I got a phone call that the new custom AFO was ready, but I dont have an appointment to get it until OCTOBER!!!!! So in the mean time, Im left with such severe pain from the current AFO that I am unable to exercise or even walk more than a few minutes at a time and nothing to do but wait 2 more months and no one at Cornell Orthotics seems to care. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!

I have been going to this location for a few months now. Im going to give my honest opinion. Everything was a smooth process from check in and so forth, I guess I got lucky. The staff are friendly in the 103 suit department section, not sure about the other departments in the building. Alica the young lady that does the evaluation is respectful and straight to the point and know what she is doing. I had a insole in my shoes I didnt realize that was causing my foot to pushed upward against my shoes, which was irritating my foot. She recommended to remove the insole if it help. It actually did helped out. I thought she was crazy at first. Just kidding. Overall great experience, hopefully it stay the same.

The worst experience of my life. The receptionist is rude, the guy that fits you for your boot has zero personality and their insurance person has no clue as to what she is doing. I go after my appointment, get fitted for the boot and they proceed to tell me that I owe $175.00 towards my deductible of $250. Meanwhile, my family deductible of $500. was met about 8 months ago as I am in the last month of my current year and renew on 11/1. I leave without the boot and go home to call my insurance company. They state I should have to pay $0 because my family deductible of $500 has been met and this place is in my network. My insurance covers 100% after the deductible has been met. My insurance company calls them, they dont answer. I go back today with a reference number and persons name, which they stated to me they needed in order to not charge me for the boot. Today I go in and the boot fitter is out to lunch. Come back in a half of an hour. I give them an hour and go back. They tell me I need to pay them 30% because my insurance only covers 70%. Where do they get their information from? I tell them that is not correct. I am covered 100% after my deductible which has been met already! Their insurance person will not call insurance companies to check anything. So, I ask for a copy of my script and I am leaving to go elsewhere. This place is a complete joke. How they do any business there is beyond me. Mind you, I am the HR Manager for my company and the benefits administrator. I know my insurance plan inside and out. Dont let these companies take advantage of you. Be smart and go someplace else like I am doing.

I was there today with my 90 year old father to have his orthotic braces inspected and adjusted. The staff was courteous, professional and very helpful. Thank you for taking the time to make us feel welcome and well cared for. Five stars from us.👍

Great people, with creative and master craftsmanship. I have been a patient for over 10 years and their dedication to my comfort and mobility throughout the progression of my dystrophy has been exemplary—-honestly, not sure where I would be without them.

We’ve seen 5 orthotists in 10 years for AFOs, ranging from okay to exceptional. Nicky at Cornell Orthotics is the best we’ve seen (or possibly equal with John Wall, now retired). She has a great way with kids and strives for perfection, really analyzing every aspect of an orthotic to help her patients improve their gait, etc... as much as they can. Highly recommended.
