Very impressed with Island Wide, they showed up on time (even called 20 min before as requested) Joe the technician, was professional, knowledegable and courteous (even removed his shoes when he entered!) diagnosed the problem and fixed it without issue. Felt the cost was reasonable and will not hesitate to recommend Island Wide to family and friends.
Well I would like to thank everyone at ISLAND WIDE APPLIANCE ......I believe we finally solved the on going problem with my THERMADOR RANGE.The honesty and integrity did not go unnoticed by my wife and myself. Having other so calledAppliance servicemen in my home trying to diagnose he problem was an utter nightmare.ERIC, was truly an example of excellence, he could have played the game of replacing every part on a trial an error diagnosis, he did not.He spent plenty of TIME assuring me this could be fixed. He did in fact fixed the underlying problem promptly. He didn’t throw around extra part changes, he used the existing parts for the repair.I also had the pleasure of meeting GIL, who tweaked the repair that was previously done.Again no CHARGE. I called about a warranty issue on a brand-new Sub Zero refrigerator. The external water dispenser was pouring water everywhere. At first their office stated it might be a few weeks before they could come, but after checking schedule they got me in the next day, Ryan called ahead to alert they were coming and I met them at my house, they were right on time. Ryan was very nice, helpful and he was able to fix the issue within 10 minutes. Im happy., nice job guys.
They state that they work on all types if major appliances, but wouldnt even consider looking at my washer or microwave when I called.. Do they repair appliances or not?
Cannot let this go unnoticed! Called to speak with a technician to confirm a technical issue with respect to installing a garage heater unit in my Fridgeadaire refrigerator. Although there was no monetary incentive for them, John was very honest and professional. He answered my questions. I know where I would go to first for my future appliance repairs!
This company is not in the business to grow and retain customers. My dishwasher is broke. I was referred to Island Wide by Appliance World where I purchased the dishwasher. My husband and I both work outside the home, about an hour away. Island Wide will only guarantee the date of service, anywhere in between 9am-5pm. I have now asked twice if a note can be made on my file that we cannot get someone to our house to be home until noon on said day of service. The receptionist, who must be the owners wife or mother as she does not care to professionally represent this business, gave me a horrible attitude and said we have no idea who else will be calling between now and your day of service, so we cannot guarantee you a timeslot. That is the most confusing rationale. I asked if she would like to have my business, make money off my repair and benefit from my recommending Island Wide to neighbors by just reserving a service call time after 12pm on my service date and she said flat out no. Now using a repair service much more pleasant to deal with who I dont mind giving our money to.
I recently called Island Wide Appliance to service my telescoping downdraft stove vent. Their office personnel were courteous and knowledgeable. After scheduling an appointment, they called the day before to confirm the appointment and on the day of the appointment they called at 9:30 am to provide me with a two hour window of their arrival. I found their technicians to be skilled and competent and they arrived within their expected window. I recommend them and will certainly call them again for my next appliance repair.
Called this company and told them the problem I was having which was an F1 code on a Dacor oven. Waited for a week to get an appointment. I had the oven opened on the top for the tech to check the wiring and circuit boards. With out even looking at anything on the oven he tells me I need an electronic control board only to find out that this part is discontinued by the manufacturer. Turns out it wasn’t diagnosed correctly by him. Ended up being a relay on the board. I dismantled the circuit boards and the electronic control board and sent it to circuit board medics who then Made the nessesary repairs and sent it back within a week. Guess he should have a least made the effort to examine the unit before making his diagnosis. This company is only interested in making the service call money all day. Don’t waste your time or money with them. I almost threw out an $8,500 oven.
This shop is a total fraud. Came out and charged $161.00 and told us they Think they know what is wrong with it but they will not fix it. They passed the buck and took the money for absolutely nothing. DO NOT CALL THESE THIEVES. (Cannot give zero stars on this reveiw. Have never posted a review in my life.)
My Wife just got off the phone with this company. She has never had such a rude encounter with someone before. As she was explaining what was happening with our washing machine and dryer ( which is only 3 months old) She was abruptly cut off and he said Just yes or no answers I do not have time to listen to everyones stories. It was only 9:00am and he was nasty, obnoxious, and the worst customer service we have ever encountered. His name was George and he should not be allowed to work with people. Stay away!! Plenty of other repair companies to use that will actually treat you nice.
I have read the other reviews which almost discouraged me from calling this company to fix my Dacor oven .However, there were only 2 companies on Long Island that were certified as Dacor Repair service companies so I had no choice but to call them to fix my Dacor double in- wall oven.I used them a number of years ago with a very positive memory of their repair work so I was surprised by the 2 negative reviews.C.K.Richardson was the first company who attempted to repair my oven but after 5 visits they were unable to get it working largely due to incompetence. At Island Wide Appliance,from the secretaries who answered the phone to the repair men that came to my home, I have experienced nothing less than reliability,professionalism,and real competence. It took them several visits to correct the problem because of the prior companies mistakes. Reviews of service providers provide a valuable insight into the quality of a company but in this case the reviews are way off from what this company truly deserves. The service men even refused to take a tip!!
I paid the service fee a few weeks ago and just got a call for the repair of my bouche gas stove. Estimated $475 to fix the one burner and replace the Hodges on the door.Wow. If I had read the reviews prior I wouldn’t have lost the money on the first visit. I’ll deal with the broken stove top and door
They didnt even get to my house...the lovely lady on the phone just killed any chance of me using this company for warranty work. RUDE and CONDESCENDING. Thats alright though, work was just reassigned to another company. I guess they dont need the business. Stay away!
