We just had 7 trees taken down and 2 large oaks pruned by Arundel Tree Service. The job was quoted to take 2 days and they finished in less than 1. They were very upfront both with the estimate and that the yard would be torn up since we have a sloped lawn, and the equipment is heavy, so there were no surprises with either. They worked very hard and safely, and the stump removal was done well. They did a great job cleaning up afterwards too, even taking the time to blow off the porch and driveway.
The crews just removed two big gumball trees but I was unhappy with their work.First, their operation of trunks removal was extremely wild: the crew just dropped the half-to-one-ton trunks (about 40 feet high) directly to the ground, leaving multiple big holes in the ground. Moreover, every time they did this, the entire house shook. One tree was only about 10 feet away from the house and I was not sure if that would cause potential damage to the house.Second, some shrubs in my backyard for privacy were crushed or cut to the ground and nobody told me they would do so.Third, my lawn in both back and front yards was badly damaged. Half of my front lawn was lowered 2-4 inches due to the equipment travel. Before, it provided the best landscape view but now not any more.In my opinion, these guys did not use proper equipment, means and methods to minimize damages to the owner’s lawn. The lifter they used did not have a long reach so they had to travel over the lawn to access trees as closely as possible. The so called “mat protection” is only thin plywood which did not provide good protection at all. They did not have a crane to rig big trunks to the drive way - that is why they let trunks free fall to the ground and later used a loader to move them to the drive way.About five years ago, I hired this company to remove six trees. They did their job but left two rows of ruts on the lawn. I was unhappy but could tolerate it. But this time the damages greatly exceeded my expectations. I paid these guys just to remove the trees and not to ruin my landscape and lawn. This is what I got: trees are gone but my lawn was badly damaged. If you have a nice lawn and don’t want it to be messed up, then go with another company and tell them your concerns in the first place.
Im extremely displeased with Arundel Tree Service. We had a contract to remove three trees from along an existing privacy fence. The work to be done included Grinding of Remaining Stumps just below Surface, backfilling hole. We do not remove stump grindings. It seems that whoever wrote the quote did not actually look closely enough at the trees in question to notice that one tree was touching the fence or to note distance of any of the trees from the fence. When the foreman arrived, he did not have equipment to remove *any* piece of the tree touching the fence less than 7 feet off of the ground. He also did not have equipment that could be maneuvered to remove the other two stumps, despite the fact that nothing had changed around these trees since well before they sent someone out to provide the quote. We were not informed of these issues until the foreman claimed work was done, although he should have been able to inform us that he would not be able to complete the contract as written before starting. We provided the contract (with the above quoted item), indicating that the work agreed upon was not completed, and basically got a shrug. My husband called the office. Over several phone calls, office staff relayed information between my husband and the quote provider, as the quote provider refused to talk directly to my husband.Arundel Tree Service sent a team that was completely unequipped to perform the contracted work, and ultimately refused to complete the contract they had provided. To their credit, they did provide a 12.5% discount for leaving us with a 7 foot tall stump and two smaller stumps whose removal was part of the contract.
The workers did an excellent job of carefully cutting down the tree. They were very professional. They did cut a few pieces that were larger than we requested. I called the office and asked for an estimate and provided photos. Received a somewhat curt email response and was told someone would get back to me. Other than some slight unprofessionalism with the office staff, I was pleased with the service.
Three pines trees in a row set between two houses. In the course of 2 hours they removed the trees, cleaned up and were gone. Fast and efficient.
Have used Arundel at two different properties over a 7 year span. Our most recent service was this week at our new home and I wanted to take the time to write a review and thank them for their service. It seems most people only review when something is wrong, so I like to take the time to do both to keep things fair. This week we had two of their crews here at once working and it was a better result than we expected. We purchased a property that has lots of trees and has been neglected for some years by the previous owners, so we have our hands full with projects. They did a great job this visit pruning trees surrounding the house to make them safe and removing some dead eyesore trees along our driveway and near our garage. The crew at Arundel has always provided me with fair prices and the service is what we ask for, staff in office and on site are all very friendly and helpful. They have always sent us a written proposal ahead of service detailing what they will do for the price they gave. They also helped us with permit paperwork at our old house in Severna Park which was waterfront. Another thing we have come to learn is that the best time to have service done is in the Fall and Winter as they are not so busy and came come out faster (if you are in a hurry). We will continue to use them for services at our new home for years to come. Great group of folks!
Disappointed with Arundel Tree Service. They were hired to cut down two trees in our backyard. During the estimate, we were told both would be cut down, the chips would be left (half at my house, half at my in-laws house down the street) and the wood would be left. We prepaid for the entire service and they came on a day when we werent home (they called to ask and we gave permission). When my husband got home from work, the yard was a mess. First thing we noticed was our canopy was thrown across the yard with its frame bent and the fabric ripped. We know it was removed because it was staked down into the ground. Yes, it was slightly windy that day, but we were not told that this needed to be removed nor was the damage consistent with wind. Also, they should have informed us of the damage. The second thing he noticed is they didnt leave any of the wood chips. This was not that big of a deal but they did not follow the agreed upon terms. Third was damage to our fence. Workers removed some of our fence during the job and tried to put it back but failed to put it back to the way it was before. There was also a section of fence that was clearly hit by a branch. Fourth, they left a spool of rope, a gas can with a decent amount in it and an oil can in our yard where our children could have gotten to them. With all the damage, we never once received notified of anything. No call about needing to move anything, no call about damage, no call about anything.I tried calling when I got home and saw the damage but their office was already closed for the day. Since they left supplies at our house, I thought maybe they werent done for the day. I call first thing in the morning and spoke with a lady who answered the phone. She apologized and told me that the estimator should have put it in the contract if anything needed to be moved prior to the job. She also confirmed the wood chips should have been left as agreed upon. She asked me to email the photos of the damage and I sent a few photos. After that, nothing but crickets.... It has been over two weeks and nothing. Only reason I am giving them a two star review is they did cut down the trees and no body was hurt. After this experience, we would not recommend nor use again.***Update: Arundel Tree Service worked with us and came up with a resolution to correct the damage that had been done. Rating updated to three star.
I love getting a great price when I hire a company to do a job. But I REALLY love when that company also gives excellent service, and has employees who are knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to go the extra mile. Weve used the services of Arundel Tree Service 3 times over the last 15 years. They continue to excel in what they do and how they do it. Thank you Arundel Tree!!!!! Special thanks to Junior, Jose, and Mauricio who worked on the tree removal this time!
Very pleased with Arundel Tree! The workers were very nice when they came. They did everything I asked for a great price!
Came in with an estimate less than half of other local companies for removal of 14 trees and stump grinding in a back yard September 2018. Rescheduled job multiple times over 9 months despite site visits and verbal reports of good conditions. Ultimately proposed new, 30% higher estimate after 8+ months of waiting and multiple cancellations, scheduled work again, and then cancelled altogether one month later. Have taken one month (and counting) to return deposit. Got the impression that they did not communicate with their subcontractors, would rather lie to a customer than say no, and have no capability to do anything other than basic work.
Professional. Prompt. Skilled workers. Honest pricing. Tells you how it is, good and bad, so the right decision can be made and no surprises. Id expect to have to pay a high premium for this but the price of work is always reasonable.Had a large red oak taken down. Got to work right away. New and clean equipment. Hardworking crew. Cleaned up with take and blower. Superb work again.
I agree with Robert Pattersons review. Buyer beware. The same thing happened to us this summer. The crew of 3 removed a lot of trees and stumps all in one day which was good. Initially, we were impressed with the amount of work accomplished in one day for a good price. However, we are disappointed they did not clean up - they left piles of wood chips, mud and deep holes in our yard- grass is dead where they worked. Its a terrible mess now, especially with the drought.
Great experience. I shopped around, they were the the best priced, more knowledgeable, and right on time. The owner came himself and gave me all the details. At the office, Chelsea is pleasant, good with follow ups and scheduling.
Outstanding work! Very professional work and operations. They communicated with me early when they had to reschedule us because of pending weather. Ive tried other tree companies in the past but Arundel Tree will be my go to from now on.
Arundel Tree Service is awesome! From start to finish, they were professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to deal with. They perform quality work at a reasonable price and I highly recommend them to anyone needing trees trimmed/removed.
Great service. The weight of the machine was hard to get into place and cracked my driveway but not their fault. It was unavoidable. Glad to have that tree gone thou!
I think the owners are great people and they are very fair priced on their tree service! Thank you very much to Donnie and Amy!
We want to thank Arundel Tree very much for a just wonderful service experience. We had both pruning and removals completed at our home and just can not speak highly enough of how happy we are with the outcome. The quality and professionalism of the entire team from the estimator, to the office staff, to the crew performing the work was overwhelming. They were thorough and made sure we were aware of what to expect along the way.We will certainly be calling Arundel Tree in the future for additional work and will be referring them to our friends and family. Great company to work with overall :-)Update 7/2019* Had Arundel Back for another round of services at our home and were just as pleased the second time around. Always good with communication when it comes to scheduling and the process of removals. Had some storm damage removed from a very tight spot and some more pruning done this time around. A+
After some initial scheduling/communication concerns, Arundel Tree Services team was awesome. The spent an entire day on our property pruning our giant oaks. The results were immediately noticeable. Our trees are safer and look great. On top of that, they took time to completely clean up, were super nice, and their price simply couldnt be beat.
So very glad I went with this company. I had two monster sized trees and several other average-large sized trees removed. They are very good at what they do and I will continue to use and recommend them to anyone. Their equipment is top notch as well.
We have a lot of trees on our property. Arundel Tree has done work for us on several occasions. They are always professional, prices are very fair, and they are just nice people. Thank You Arundel Tree!
Got a good quote for a difficult job (two trees by power lines, a fence, and a shed). Removed the trees with hardly any damage (only damage was removing part of the fence to get the wood out).
Have had them remove many trees on my yard. Always on time, professional and are reasonably priced.
Awsome job with large dead red oak with little room to work.
Great job at my home with large trees. Removed them safely and efficiently
Arundal tree did outstanding service for me in removing two large trees and grinded up the tree roots and limbs.Frederick Styles
