The businesses are closed, but when you wait outside the worker will come outside and pick up your paperwork or list you and find out what you need and then theyll go inside do the paperwork and then bring it out to you. It works well. Good experience. Covid-19 has everybody closed. Its nice to find an office thats open.
Pasadena’s DPSS is quick clean and to the point. Customer service is effective and efficient. Also very safe
Walked in with out an appointment, and was still seen by my worker right away. The check in system definitely helped too. So glad I came to this office, the workers were all super nice and friendly and helped me with what I needed.
Have an appointment or be prepared to wait for more than 1 hour. They can help you if you need Medi-Cal, CalFRESH, CalWORKS, etc. They also offer help to those that are homeless, domestic violence, substance abuse, among other services.
Its updated and their fast and easy in and out in under 20 min .
Fast lines yes. Courteous yes. It has been since February 14th that I have been waiting to get an answer about my case. I have tried to contact my worker, her supervisor, a general manager, a supervisor at the Camp Plenty office where I recently moved and two different people at the Chatsworth office and not one person has gotten back to me. My worker ignores my voice mails and so does her supervisor. I have been told that I have done everything I can on my end. 45 days, do not believe it:
Friendly and theyve been working really hard on being efficient, well done!
This online service and calling has allot of draw backs and little forward motion

This county facility has improved immensely. If you arrive early you will be seen very quickly. All the workers are very friendly and helpful. Opens at 8 a.m., m-f .
More organized a little faster than usual case workers are really helpful
Dont try to talk logic to these morons. Stupid people dont understand logic. I saw one employee fling a girls arm because she was holding the door. The security guards love to give you hard time.Be sure to make an appointment. Dont expect much of these people. Their minimum requirement is a high school diploma.
The Best and the Faster office..ive ever encounterd
This place needs to train their workers better on services they offer and their own rules and regulations, they only need to read right their own hands book.
They helped my son very quickly and were real nice
Thank God for EBT
Hit hard times some years back and had to swallow my pride and apply for CalFresh -- I was literally starving at the time and had the frail physique to prove it. To put it simply, to get free food, you sometimes have to pay for it with time spent here or on the phone. Stuff happens, technical or otherwise even with me, and Im quite articulate. Even now, I have not received my benefits for over a month and it seems to due to a technical anomaly in the system which I hope to have resolved within a week. It happens, just got to deal with it, it is free food after all. The office looks and smells like any other government office -- although the DMV might be a notch above it. Ive never had an issue with the security guards here, although Ive seen other people make scenes when dealing with security, but Ive observed that they are already emotionally wired to take great offense at anything uttered to them by security. Actually, anytime I have ever seen someone make a scene in there for any reason, it was they themselves who were a bit off their rocker. I once accidentally forgot that I had a credit card knife in my wallet, and when they noticed it in the x-ray scanner, they politely informed me that I should leave it in my vehicle; Did so and came back in with no issue. It operates much like any other government office Ive been in, and trust me when I say, I hate dealing with government for anything. My advice, if you dont have an appointment, then arrive at least 10 minutes before they open to insure you will see someone that same day, usually by lunch time, least in my experience. Also ask specifically, about what forms are needed and take note of the names of the forms needed. Take names of people you have dealt with as well, make the conveying of information as easy to digest as possible so that you can get from point A to point B as quick and efficiently as possible. All too often, I find that people dont know what form is being referred to or what significance a person who was dealt with had on procedure. If those can be dealt with and smoothed out, then the entire experience and visit here can be greatly improved for the benefit of all.
The wait here is always long, but if your only turning in paperwork then that should be a speedy effort. Oh, remember to ask for a confirmation receipt when dropping any kind of documents off. Parking is not easy here.
They greet us right after security check and direct us to the right lane. Service done in timely manner.
Not open to the public for social services
I called their participant help line to ask a question about medical and I was on hold for an hour before I gave up. Unacceptable.
Medi-Cal phone rep sent me to Pasadena office. I should have been sent To El Monte Office. Reps were nice, and I saw a rep but she couldnt help me. I was told to go to El Monte. Too much confusion and time going from one location to another.
Most of the office staff is from another country and have thick accents making them hard to understand but they try very hard to help navigate the government system.
Small parking etc..... but for sc still a pretty quick b in she v 48
My first experience in la county social services was really simple, i was in and out in about an hour and a half, which is lightning fast compared to san bernardino county, which id become used to.
Overall theyre average to above average. But you need to be on your toes because if your worker makes a mistake they will do whatever it takes to blame you or another employee. They will mistake you right out of benefits.
The fastest ive ever gotten records and documentation to submit.
You are blessed if you are assigned Mr Torres
You need new staff and a number to reach my case women i been reaching my case women for my food stamp for 20 days now no answer and ur customer service is bad u need new employers and staff and security
Its getting better. I just wish the improvements happened faster.
The place is run down, dirty and the people working here made me feel awful for applying. They dont know my struggle .
Surprisingly efficient, was able to get in and out and there didnt seem to be a long wait for other people. Got what I needed.
Make sure u got an appointment thats all I gotta say.-khan won
Pasadena DPSS loses mailed or hand delivered documents, eligibility workers change every few months and are impossible to reach by phone, they mix up records and case files, the main 1 (800) Customer Service phone number tells you to dial at 1 (626) Customer Service number which then tells you to dial the same (626) phone number. Wasted several months throughout 2016 when they blanket denied thousands of eligible cases. The only way I can get any help is when I call the Neighborhood Legal Assistance and do it through their para-legal.Its amazingly bad. Its hard to believe government agencies are run so dysfunctionally.
Clean, well staffed, helpful n painless.
This place is whackScrew this place they dont try to help you out. They take forever on everything. Suppose to go do the work program. I was 10 no tues lates. I tried to call the number to reachedule appointment before. Guess what the nunber is disconnected. ? Are you serious!!?? People are already having problems and they just made it bigger!! I dont have time for this. How can you even deny people if your trying to help them? The state needs to come revaulayate this lovation. Someone is fraudong so etching over here or someone is Bri g over paid. They do not help people but make problems bigger for us. I want to file a complaint tto the state. How are you gonna deny people that are trying to find work!! Too many people there was like w0 people. If your job on helping people is too difficult then find another job!! Thoze two guys I side there look like they were relaxing and barely helping the people ? What are you even being paid for. Why are we being punished for their mistakes for their gteedyness for their lack of motivation in helping people. Now I have to come back and reschedule? Wait I line for an idiot that didnt knowhow to do his jobinthe first place. Nothing but co stang problem. Please do something about this place. People taxes are Bri g abused. In furious and disappointed in their work ethics. Its suppose to be a place where people can grow and feel confident infonsingworka f becoming a better person. Everything they boast about here is all lies. I already started a formal complaint with the state.do t let these people belittle you tho bmp ingtheir better than you or making you feel stupid. All I gotta say is F this place!!!
Love this place, the service is outstanding 😁 in & out in 20 minutes or less
It is extremely upsetting to call Wendell amounts of times to try and make an appointment and no one answers. Then when coming in person having them make a joke out of it. Spent a whole day 9-5pm waiting as patiently as possible to be told oh sorry we called ur name, it was probably too loud to hear, its too late now. Then be asked to return the following day and with an appointment and coming early waiting for an hour in line to check in be told oh shes not here, want to wait another 3hours for someone else. Then be told theres no such thing as an appoinment, even tho I was just asked if I wanted to reschedule an appojment by the last teller!?! This is absurd honestly. I understand people come in to be helped and its a hard job but get it together man.
Went in got the help we needed and it was fast. Friendly workers.
I gave them a one star and that was being nice, Pretty much we have a case worker and then mysteriously we dont, noone knows who is handling our case .Trying to make an appointment with whoever and standing in line and watching certain racial groups cut in front of you is just too much . My husband is white and Iam Latina, we have even called Mr. Antonovich office, our city controller, and the more we call to complain about pasadena the more they treat us like garbage. My husband works and i go to school all we want is our cal fresh and medical.. The whole system is a mess and add rude workers on top of that makes it impossible to deal with . Who else to complain to? if even the City Controller CAN NOT HELP.
Excellent service and workers treat guests with dignity.
Love Flintridge people here are nice
The wait here is usually very short compared to other offices
Not to mention if your white be prepared to deal with peolpe being racists to you pn both sides of the window. You need new staff badly.
Super customer service, I was in and out in less than ten minutes.
Always make an appointment or you will literally wait all day to see someone.
They work hard for the money
Thanks for all of your support.

Guess you have to be black or Mexican to get county help, if your white dont try and apply they make sure you get all the wrong forms so you have to keep starting over, but black and Mexicans just walk right in with no Id no social security number nah if your black or Mexican you dont need it
There is a wait but its not to long
Helps people in need.
You already know. ..Come on now! !

Some of the workers are helpful...
She out there with drugs
Take a while for workers to help you and they do not call back at all
Ive seen a black women use two different names, I was in to get fingerprinted the guy in front of me was Mexican and started talking to the women in Spanish which I understand he told her he already had a case under another name, she said just use your middle finger to scan instead of your index I will use this idiots picture behind you then started laughing.
