Had a missfire issue w/o code. Shahverdi couldnt diagnose after scan, suggested replacing parts to see if it would fix. I informed Shahverdi I could replace parts and just wanted to pay for scan and work time. Paid $80 for Shahverdi to test drive and scan car w/o establishing a diagnosis, wasnt willing to pay for part replacement guesswork.

Just picked up my car from Shaverdis Foreign Cars, Inc, 184 Mountain Road, Pasadena, Maryland. They have a reputation in our area for doing outstanding work on German cars. I had them do several things over 2 trips to them. First trip was replace alternator, repair passenger side door handle, and repair weatherstripping on passenger side window. Second trip was re-repair weatherstripping, oil change, and reattach rear view mirror to inside windshield (which had come off).First trip - Picked the car up after being called. The door handle was repaired, alternator replaced, weather stripping repaired. Put the top down and drove home.When I got home and put the top up, the weather stripping had completely come off the mounts, leaving the car un-weatherstripped on passenger side. Was told to return the car to re-fix weatherstripping.Second trip - asked for rear view mirror to be reattached and an oil change in addition to re-repairing the weatherstripping. They indicated they would have to now wait for weatherstripping parts, no prob for me even though I knew it might be a few days.After 2 weeks I called, was told to come and pick up the car, all fixed. Had I not called to see if the parts came in, the car would still be sitting there. No charge for the repairs (and no paperwork) - I thought that strange but without a charge I accepted no paperwork - my bad! I soon learned why no charge, read on. The had been fixed right away. I know the car was fixed right away because they did the same thing to the weatherstripping as the first time (they did not wait for, or use new parts), the car had a huge layer of dust on it from sitting for days on their lot, and my hood had been egged many days earlier. Yes, egged. I could tell the car had sat for days because the egg was so imbedded in the paint I couldnt get it off with soap and water. The mirror was reattached and I was told the oil change had been done - but I am uncertain about the oil change being done without any paperwork.I called and complained loudly. How do you let an egged hood sit there for days without washing it off? Had they called me when the car was fixed there wouldnt have been an egging. They said bring it back and well fix. After I got done laughing, and crying because of what the egging is going to cost me, I hung up on them. You can judge for yourself whether to take your vehicles to this shop. Do not buy a car from these guys unless you have a pre-purchase inspection shame on me for not doing this. I was told the all the service was done on the car new timing belts and tensioners. Well the transmission leaks the head gaskets leak and the differential leaks have the car is now @ NGP going to cost me 3000.00$ this does not count for all the previous repairs. Its a R32 MK4 golf. Be-aware when you buy from these guys never again for me.

Service has always been honest and fair. They can work on most cars including all German and Italian cars.If you spend over $50 they supply you with a free shish kabob and rice for lunch that in itself is worth it.

I have stopped in a few times at Shahverdi’s. This last time to get some work done last minute. Before I go on vacation. I saw that they are very busy and asked if they can get to my car? They said sure leave it today and you can pick it up tomorrow. So I did I honestly did not think they would get to it in time because they were so busy. I called this morning to check it see if the car would be ready today. Then Mr Shahverdi told me it’s ready to go. WoW I told him I did think you get to it. We stayed late to finish up for you so you can leave to go on Vacation today. I love this place not only are they honest and do good work they stayed late to finish my car missing time with there family so I can take my family on vacation. These guys are the best!!

HORRIBLE... THE MECHANIC EVEN DROVE MY CAR HOME A FEW NIGHTS.. IT WAS THERE TWO WEEKS AND STILL HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUES THAT IT HAD WHEN I INITIALLY DROPPED IT OFF. THEY CHANGED MY ENTIRE ENGINE BECAUSE THEY SCREWED UP MY ORIGINAL ENGINE AND DIDNT EVEN SAY A WORD. I WOULDNT ADVISE ANYONE TO EVEN TAKE A BICYCLE THERE TO GET FIXED. YOUVE BEEN WARNED. I only gave them a single star because it wouldnt allow me to post a review without it...!!!

I am the owner of a 2008 BMW 328i. On two previous visits to this shop for minor work, I received great service. I had rear brakes installed and a windshield wiper pump installed. On my last visit, I asked if they could replace a valve cover gasket and a oil filter housing gasket. I was told it would not be a problem. On November 2nd, I took my car in for the following services; oil and filter change; oil filter housing gasket replacement; and valve cover gasket replacement. By noon on November 2nd, I received a frantic call/voicemail message asking me to call the shop. So I did and lo and behold I was told that my valve cover gasket had been broken. Hmmm...what happens if you do not torque bolts to BMW specs? it will break!! What they did was not torque the bolts to the BMW specs. When I went in to pickup my car, I was told that they use epoxy on the part to put it back in the car. So I received an oil change; oil filter housing gasket replacement and written on the receipt was need a valve cover itself). I was quoted $1500 for this. I was clear to ask the pricing for the job before I went in and this was not the amount quoted. So if I was quoted one amount and you call and give me an absorbent figure and also tell me that something was broken. Whats the outcome? I will not be returning to this facility for any repairs. In my opinion, this job was not something this shop was probably accustomed to and hence my experience.

I always take my Audis and Porche911 here because they do do simple maintence work for alot cheaper than the dealer and definitely alot quicker.

I am absolutely appalled and disappointed in this Shops service. I have been taking my cars here for years and for the most part its been somewhat pleasant. Other thank lack of communication and translation errors Ive never had any complaints. My last two experiences however have been less than stellar. I WILL NEVER BRING MY CAR TO THIS SHOP AGAIN!I had a simple inspection. Paid my fees, got my car, certificate ect. The owner whom is clearly in need of retirement at this point fills out the form incorrectly and doesnt match my vin number correctly. NO BIG DEAL. The big deal is the fact that I had to argue with them to fix it. Finally get them to fix it and go on my merry way. fast forward 2 months and I am trying to get my tags and title. My inspection is not in the MVA data base and they will not accept paper certificates any longer. I call Shaverdis to find out why my inspection certificate has not been sent to the MD State Police within the 60 day time frame. He states they do not send them electronically and do not have the technology. He says for me to give the lady the certificate. I try to explain to him that she wont accept it if its not in the Data base. He says its not his problem and he doesnt have all day to talk with me on the phone about it. THE THING IS, IT IS YOUR PROBLEM! Because your business is not up to code and technological standards it is affecting me and anyone else that comes to you. For this simple fact that you could care so little about your clients I WILL NEVER come to your shop again.
