Took a week before Tims could work me into their schedule, but I believe that is just an indicator of how good & trusted by the community they are. Their Mechanic quickly diagnosed, ordered the part and installed in less than 3 hours.....even less money than I was originally quoted in the morning.I have been relying on Tims Automotive for over 20 years and because of their honesty, knowledge and reliability, I am willing to drive 30-40 minutes from Downtown to get my car repaired there.....Thanks Again!

I am a first time customer but will be a life long customer! I was very impressed with a service facility that FINALLY (after 2 other failures elsewhere) fixed my AC! Now its almost too cold. AND also they offer reasonably priced oil changes and currently after so many, you get a FREE one! They got my car in on and out on time. Very impressive in todays world.

Tim’s took care of my daughter’s car when it broke down due to an island on the road. Chrissy worked with me all the way and took care of everything including working with my insurance. She made sure I was in agreement with every repair and kept me updated. Hats off to Chrissy! I had an absolutely wonderful experience with this shop. I had given this place a try after being referred by a friend. I had bought a car from an auction and she needed to pass inspection. Tims was able to fix everything and get her in perfect running condition within a reasonable amount of time and didnt break my pockets. The communication was immaculate. I felt I was being properly informed and educated throughout the whole process. Every question I had they could answer. The prices were most definitely reasonable. Unbeatable I would say. The bad news.The Woodcroft Exxon unexpectedly closed several months ago and the two mechanics (Don and Dave) who took excellent care of my cars for over 30 years just vanished.The good news.Tims Automotive, on Old Harford Rd, is a stones throw from the Woodcroft station so I thought Id give them a try. I brought in my 21 year old Honda Odyssey because one of the sliding doors stopped working. I talked to Ian, who said he wouldnt be able to work on it for a couple of days because he was shorthanded. I was ok with that. After replacing the old bracket, the door still didnt close properly so Ian sent the car to the other Tims (Joppa and Harford), where they had fixed problems like this before. It turns out that door also needed a new roller to keep it aligned properly. It took a few extra days, but I picked up the mini-van yesterday at the Tims on Old Harford, and the sliding door is, once again sliding. Thanks Ian, and the guys that worked on it, for a job well done. The next time my car needs servicing...Im going to Tims.C.S.

I had an amazing time with Tims! I had just bought a vintage RV and needed it State Inspected, as well as just looked at to see what repairs it needed. While it ended up needing a lot more repairs and replacements than expected, they did a wonderful job at explaining everything to me and keeping me updated. There were some delays but it was simply due to waiting to receive certain parts because my vehicle is from the 80s. Chrissy, who I was in contact with for most of it, was so professional and helpful especially considering it was my first time owning a vehicle and going to an auto shop, she was extremely helpful! I will be returning here for any needs if Im in Maryland again!

Took care of my Acura, was a very nice guy although a little aggravated that I was told we could get our stuff but now having refusal over money. Having two older vehicles and a 32 motorhome to maintain properly is a lot at times and Tims always comes through for me.

Ive been taking my cars there for years. They do a good job and are trustworthy. Do your research and find out the average cost of service. Labor there is high. Some services can be pricey and they take a while to finish your car if you must wait. But I know them and my cars run well so I cant complain.

I have been bringing my vehicles here since I work next door. I brought my F350 here for the wheels to be changed out. Dropped it off at 8am, never received any update got a call at 4:15 pm that they were just starting. I walk over at 5 since they close at 5 and still not done. They have had it all day, I would of rescheduled if they would of said they were too busy. Then on top of that I got the bill for $200, just to change the wheels out on the same tires. I will not be going back, that is outrageous.

My handicapped van was picked up by Tim’s on Monday to have the lift checked out and fixed! Several hours later I called for a status and I was told they couldn’t find a problem! After 5 hours I had my son go pick it up. Picked it up and WOW it isn’t working yet hours ago they said it was fine! Now I have a handicapped Van that has broken lift and apparently they did NOT look at it all!Will never go back there! Guys are rude and not knowledgeable! It probably is a easy fix!Sherry Ganoe

Tims automotive is a wonderful family owned business. They have handled my car for the day I purchased it. I take my car there for everything from oil changes to Tire purchases to any type of repairs and it has always been done in a very timely manner. If I need a ride back to my home or business where Im working they always have someone there to to get me where I need to go and will come pick me up to bring me back to their shop if needed. They are a friendly and courteous atmosphere with great customer service. I highly recommend their work.

I take all my vehicles (Jeep and Ford) to Tims automotive and they always do a great job at a good price. I even rely on them to keep my work truck on the road and they do just that! They were able to resolve an AC issue that other shops just had me throwing money at to no end. They were also able to perfectly align my 2011 Jeep after I installed a lift kit on the vehicle. No job or vehicle is too big or small for Tims. Special shout out to the service advise Chris. He takes the time to listen and ensures the work gets done right. Tims automotive service is an A++ all around.

They do pretty good work and are nice enough, but like every mechanic they are way too high priced. $580 for sway bar bushings, link kits and an alignment? Maybe $80 and parts and $99 for the alignment????? So $400 or 4.2 hrs book time for a job a hallway decent mechanic can do in 2 or 2.5 hrs........front end not Rusty and well maintained. No liquid wrench was need.Good work and staff, but very overpriced

Took my car in for a front end steering wobble (figured it was either a worn bushing or a bad bearing, ended up being a bad CV joint and cracked boot), and got the answer and price quote for the repair before the end of the day. It wasnt cheap but it was a fair, reasonable price for the parts and labor needed to correctly fix my car. It was done the next day, and I was very happy that my morning commute no longer included white-knuckling it at high speeds. Thanks for the great service guys.

DONT GO HERE FOR STATE INSPECTION.Why they failed a four year old car.Dry rotted between the treadsNot kidding. Crazy right?They failed all four tires. The rear tires still have 6/12 tread. See pic.You know what else is crazy. This car was inspected at a different mechanic in Parkville 3 months ago. It passed. We got it reinspected at Tim since state inspections expire after 90 days.Check out the rest of their 1 star reviews. They are all for failing state inspections.No idea how their repairs and prices are but I can only guess.

Had my car fixed the same day for below the estimated price. Staff were courteous, friendly, and professional. I will be using them for future repair work.

DO NOT GO THIS PLACE. THESE PEOPLE ARE HIGHWAY ROBBERS!! I had State Inspection in this place, and these people gave me over $2000 estimation for me to fix order to pass the inspection. I know that all the thing that these crooks are telling me to fix is already in good conditions. I am going to report to Better Business Bureau for their dishonest services and lying to people.

I am just going to tell you what happened. I needed a MD state inspection and Tims was the first place I found that could do it same day. They failed my car for several things and quoted $800+ for repairs. I took it to my mechanic a while later (because I did not have $800+ to spend), handed them the inspection report, and asked them to fix whatever needed to be fixed to pass. Hours later, they called me back and told me they did not agree with the report. They told me to take it to another place. I had it inspected again at the place they recommended. The only thing that was wrong was the light a $25 fix including labor.These guys should be in jail.

Tims saved me! The brakes were acting weird on the morning that we had black ice. I was able to get to Tims, they not only got my car in right away, but took me home and picked me up when it was ready so that I could still get my children from school. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! If I could give this zero stars I would! Do NOT bring your vehicle here. Brought it for an inspection, brand new battery and running perfect. Get a call saying it wont start AFTER they test drove it. When I get here to pick up the car they push it off their lot and onto the street. They have NO IDEA what theyre doing. Then they tell me I HAVE to bring it back here. No sorry not happening.Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all cost!

Great service and fair prices

Lets begin by saying if I could give this place zero stars I would simply by the way I was treated with absolutely no remorse. I was referred to this place by my previous mechanic @ Mikes Automotive as the owner had passed away and was told that theyd take care of me in regards to my warranties I have on previous work. Nonetheless I contact Tims auto to bring my car in because the check engine light is on, they werent very pleasant over the phone the 1st time but I tried to disregard it as an isolated incident. When I contacted them on 8/13 I was told to bring the vehicle early the next morning as a drop off so they could take a look at it. I arrived at 7:58am (they open at 7:30am) as I entered I wasnt greeted initially until I said good morning first. I explained what was happening with my vehicle to the guy at the 1st computer, he told me I would have to make an appointment to drop off my car. I explained that I had spoken with someone the day prior and that I had driven an hour to get there from Anne Arundel County. He told me they couldnt get me because they were already booked for the day despite what I was told the previous day and despite my hour drive there. I was also told that in order for them to take a look at it that it would be a $95 diagnostic fee. I proceeded with scheduling the appointment in spite of my feelings about the nonchalant nature of how I was being handled. I asked if there would be some sort of accommodation or deduction to compensate for my inconvenience that had fallen on their end. The individual asked me sarcastically Well, what do you want me to do?! What, you want me to put you in front of someone who was already here? I cant do anything about what someone told you yesterday. I stated that maybe a deduction off the diagnostic fee (which was already overpriced) or something could be sufficient. He said he couldnt do that, still holding his nonchalant demeanor. I was shocked at his careless attitude towards me and even more shocked that I had been referred to come here expecting to be treated with some sort of care and respect. Surely, this isnt the way they treat all of their customers so what was it about ME that made me deserving of such treatment?!? Some things can go without being said so Ill leave that for the judgement of someone else. It took me a second to accept the reality and in order to remain placid and walk away with my dignity, I politely declined to further schedule the appointment and left. Needless to say, I would never return to this establishment nor would I refer anyone I actually care about. Youd have to be an enemy of mine for me to send you there if Im seeking revenge.

I had terrible experience with this place. If ANYONE is planning to go there for inspection - PLEASE STOP!!!! Go somewhere else, I went there to inspect my 16ft truck, (the truck was inspected 5 month ago and since that time truck had only 600 miles), they charged me $250 for inspection and found millions of problems I felt like my truck as garbage. They were going to charge me $3,767.42 to fix it. They were charging $188.95 for seat belt/R and $221 for seat belt/L just to change the plastic cover. I dont want anybody be in my situation so DONT GO THERE! I am soo mad at them.

Convenient appointments for your MD safety inspection

$450 to change sway bar bushing and 4 hours of labour.Are your mechanics retared? Dont have the time do it myself. But now I have to. It takes about one hour not 4.

Took my truck to get inspected. Gave me 3 pages of things to fix with $3800 fee to take care of it. Also charged me with $250 for inspection. Rude customer service and it is rip off. I took my car to White Bear Mechanic shop in Pulaski Highway cost me $518 to fix everything and $130 for truck inspection. You do the math

I dont trust anyone else with my car

Took my car to get inspected and they found every small problem with my car. Things that passed inspection prior years had to be replaced. Then my wife took her car there, they said it needed over $1000 worth of work to fix the issue. She took it to another shop and fixed it for $125. Never going there again.

I brought my car in with a backfiring problem. I was given a ticket in the city for discharging a firearm from my car. Tim said he couldnt fix it .

They charged me more for the labor, than they charged me to fix my car.
