Be careful when dealing with J. Sugarman Auction and their online platform. I spent the better part of my afternoon on their online auction bidding on items. The next day when I went to pick up my winning bids, some of the items were missing. Conveniently, they dont know where the items are.Obviously, this is an ongoing issue with Sugarman by looking at the other online reviews. If your time is valuable, dont waste it with this auction company.

Worse experience ever, I would recommend you see anyone from this Auction stay away. My personal experience was so horrible, I wont even go into detail. Now what they are doing is notifying people through email about auctioning off businesses online. Joke, they will never see me or any one that I know in the retail business who goes to Auction houses

THEY AUCTIONED OFF OUT ENTIRE SHOP AND NEVER PAID US ONE CENT! THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!!Our experience with Sugarman has been a nightmare. Please stay tuned for more FACTS and photos of this experience. In the meantime, if you are considering hiring Sugarman to perform your auction, Id think 3 times! THEY AUCTIONED OFF OUT ENTIRE SHOP AND NEVER PAID US ONE CENT!To date, that we are aware of, they have stolen tens of thousands of dollars from us and others. They continue to operate as auctioneers. The State of Florida needs to revoke their licenses.

I have only good things to say about this company. If you understand how the Auction process works you will enjoy shopping and maximizing your purchases for resale or treasured finds to enjoy yourself. I have a business online and we have been able to double and sometimes triple our initial purchases. We look at the total purchase and then we make sure to add on any storage billing and shipping to our companys strategies. We have been loyal Auction attendees for over 12+ years. Im a stay at home mom and I love have the extra time for my girls and work my online business while they are at school, I have the best of both worlds because a lot of the sales I can purchase from the online sales platform and never leave my home.

I run Miami Liquidations. This review comes from someone who travels around the US buying and selling liquidations and dealing with auctions from New York To California, mainly in FL, GA, SC, NC.We have been dealing with J. Sugarman Auction for over 12 years both as buyers and sellers. For Buyers: They have auctions almost every day with awesome deals as long as you know what you are doing. Always pay attention to your labor, transportation and storage costs. They have an inspection period a couple of hours before the auctions. For Sellers: They move impressive amounts of merchandise fast. The entire process takes about 10 days, extremely fast for the industry. That been said having an auction is a gamble regardless of what auction company you use. We have had auctions where we made money and some where we have lost money. It depends on how many people show up and how much they are willing to pay for your items. At the end of the day our average selling price is over our expectations.

I was recommended by an associate to work with them. He had auctioned off collectibles. Didnt know that a company like this existed but wish I did years earlier. I worked with one of their auctioneers directly and wow the experience showed. Not only did Eric give me expert advice, he gave me friendly opinions as to the auction values for some of my pieces. I have to say, I received exactly what was expected and more and would highly recommend them to anyone else who could use quick and reliable service. Two thumbs up to him and the company.

Are you serious! Spread the word. If you need to sell your stuff in the most efficient, professional way, dont think, just call. I brought some cherished items to their gallery and auctioned them. The amount of people that were bidding there and who seemed to be online as well, drove my items to $$$ I never thought I could get. So many friendly people having a great time, I think I will go to auctions just to watch and look around. Maybe I might find something I would like to bid on too.

Restaurant Equipment SaleIm the owner of an Restaurant Equipment Business and I wanted to let everyone know this company has a great set up from beginning to end. Im not sure why the negative reviews unless the buyers dont understand the business. We have utilized Sugarman Auctions on multiple opportunities and have had a great experience. Scott is the best, hes a man of his word and he pays on time. He has helped us on several accounts in very tight situations here at our company and has always performed well and hit our targeted needs financially. I would definately call Scott @ Sugarman for the best service possible.

I attended a J Sugarman auction promoted as being a “no reserve” absolute auction. I was the high bidder on the lots I wanted, but hey refused to sell at that price. What a waste of my time. The items I wanted were two poolside lounge ch were anong about 20 pieces of outdoor furniture being offered. The only competing bidder on these items wanted to pay $100 for all 20 pieces. I bid $40 for the 2 chairs. Neither of our bids were accepted.I’ve been to plenty of auctions ... more than enough to understand that sometimes the items will carry a reserve price. That’s why I explicitly asked Sugarman’s staff whether THIS auction had reserve prices. I was told that there were no reserve prices. And now I have Sugarman falsely claiming that my review and my bids were malicious. I can assure you that I attended and bid at that auction in good faith, and I reviewed my experience honestly. You might also note that the vast majority of my reviews online are posted in praise of the positive experiences I have when I get good service.I don’t nit pick, but the fact of the matter is that Sugarman staff misinformed me about the nature of that auction, and Sugarman staff responded to my complaint about that misinformation with more misinformation about my participation at that auction. It’s not the kind of operation I would do business with.

Estate Auction SellerI wanted to leave a review to those in need of Auction Services. The sales executive was very helpful and transparent on the entire process. Auctions are not meant to bring retail values, so just make sure thats where your head is in the game before you start the process. Auctions are ideally for people that need a solution to a plethora of items and keeping the items doesnt make best financial choice. We had a sale with J. Sugarman Auction Corp. and all I have is positive reviews. The attendance was large and we hit the mark on our targeted goal. I would suggest this company hands down in any Auction needs you may have. Not so sure why the negative reviews, we have worked with this company for over 15 years with positive experience every time.

Nice people really enjoy their auctions. The auctioneer if you catch them on a bad day can be a real A$$, was told by the other staff that the Auctioneer is low man in the pecking order of shot callers. If they start an auction for a table and then change it because of no bids and say ok how about the table and the stuff on it. And you dont want the big table or desk just a few thing on the table speak up make a stink before the bidding starts and some one that is the real shot caller will put the Auctioneer in his place. Dont let the auctioneer ruin your time at the auction because you caught him on a bad day. He is almost a nothing when you learn the hierarchy of whos who.

Last month I bought 14 light fixtures in two different Jay Sugarman auctions. I called, texted and emailed several times to ask when they would be shipped. First they said it would take 2 weeks because the items were off site and needed to be trucked in. Next, they said that the truck had arrived and my items would be shipped in a few days.Five weeks later, they still had not shipped the lights so I called again. They said that all 14 lights (from 2 different auctions) were lost.I now see that they have listed those EXACT SAME supposedly lost lights in their upcoming April 20th auction. How does a company lose 14 lots from 2 different auctions? I can see losing one lot from one auction, maybe, but 14 lots from two separate auctions? No way. And, what happened to the lots that all the other people bought from those two auctions? Were theirs lost too? This is a VERY bad business practice.

This company has the worst customer support. I have emailed Robin numerous times without a response. They charge outrageous fees for shipping. An item which should cost only dollars to ship will wind up costing 12$, When asked for an explanation - dont hold your breath because one will never come.i do a lot of online auctions and have never felt so abused, ignored and ripped off by a company like I have from J Sugarman Auction Corp.

Buyers and sellers beware. Was at Sugarman auction. They bid against the buyer. Also underpaid seller. Example: I personally bid 1400.00 on pod. Sugarman auctioneer pointed at Maggie (other buyer) as winner. Next day while picking up, auctioneer was there pointing out pods for Sugarman movers to take to auction house. Same pods that Maggie bought. Also underpaid owner of warehouse. He was paid 200.00 for 1400.00 pod. Beware!

I was fascinated by the items in the store until I looked in the window I saw a t-shirt in with a message on it that says (paraphrasing) - If you dont like Trump, you dont like America and can leave I am a Vietnam Veteran and extremely offended by this and will NOT leave. We put our lives on the line for this country and no t-shirt in a window is going to dictate that if I dont like it I can leave. I will do all I can to bring attention to this filth.

Horrible Service From the Akron Ohio Shipping part of this proxybid auctionWas quoted $69.95 shipping on a framed photo purchase. Item weighed less than 3 pounds and was priority box sized. Shipping would have been less than 25 bucks w/5 dollar handling charge...I had to drive 4 hours round trip to get the photo myself when I got to the place to pick it up the item was not even there yet. Had to wait about and hour at All Star Sports in the mall.(the guys there were very nice) The two woman I spoke with on phone should be fired! Rude and lazy unwilling to do their jobs..The Overcharge on shipping was my biggest problem.Gouging me after the sale.. you SHOULD put you charges up front if this is what you really charge people..I would buy elsewhere unless you are ok with $50.00 handling costs

They talk the talk but dont walk the walk. They make appointments with you only to follow up by being a no call no show. They are not affiliated with BBB, but I will also put this review on their website.

They are spectacular, very organized and iI have bought things for amazing prices. I have been to about 6 or 8 of their acutions for all different kinds of things and every time I have gone i end up a very happy bidder. Staff is alwats hellpful and willing to answer questions. Now i can say I have seen some bidders complain because the price goes abovve what they want to pay but thats just part of the fun of the auction - you cant be a sore looser if someone outbids you and wins the item. I will definitely go to another one of their auctions!

I will never use them of tell anyone to use their service. I had around 20 works of art, not prints. They were all Lithographs or seriolgrahs. I had a Peter max that was appraised for $8,000 in 2010. Same art in Wentworth gallery was $22,000. I had put on a mim of $12,000 starting price. They had it on the net for $1,200.00 starting price. If I didn’t go on myself and look I would have never known. Instead of saying they couldn’t help me they strung me along. They did sell on piece for less than I wanted to get but higher than my mim. They put some of the work of art I offer for way less than my mind was. They are very dishonest. I was dealing with Erik who I thought was a straight shooter like myself, what a joke. When I called him and left a message, I was lucky to get a response back. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

High fees. Lots of rules. Must pay $100 refundable fee at the beginning of the auction (never needed to do this for other auctions). Once you win the bid, cannot remove any items until everything is sold. Very inconvenient and cannot leave early if you ever bid on anything. Commonly a late start anywhere from half an hour to an hour late. Would prefer if they gave an accurate start time than wasting my time. Needs much improvement.
