I came back to Genesis after being away for like. 2 years ( I moved) . Genesis is one of the best Gym I’ve ever been . You get your Monies worth . If you are religious in your workouts you can’t beat $45 a month. At Taza Plaza Genesis location 24hr fitness M-F and availability to the pool if it’s not being sanitized or a workout session is being held. I recommend Genesis as a workout gym hands down!

I’m 69 years old and I have been going on 6 years, the people are great and 99% of the people there are friendly and glad to see you. The only questions I have is I signed up a friend to join. I was supposed to get 250 points, I asked a couple of times about it, never received anything points. When you come on on your birthday and work out, your supposed to get 50 points, the last 2 years I know I was there on my birthday never received anything.

Love Genesis at Tara Plaza, comprehensive facility, love the staff, trainers, facility. The pool, sauna, steam room. Cant forget the hot tub, basketball court. Weights, bikes, classes, if u arent a member, my question, to you is why not?

I got a membership with Franco. He was so helpful. He gave free passes for my family and friends. Will definitely be referring people to him he’s the best! They hooked me up with their personal trainer Octavio! Thanks to him I lost 135lb! Never felt better. I love coming here even on days I work due to their 24hr locations!

A welcoming, well-managed health club. Staff is supportive and professional, they excel in every aspect. Personal trainers are very driven to help you meet your fitness goals and improve overall health. Overall, neat facility with a variety of fitness services. I am pleased as a member.

Filthy, disgusting restrooms. Overpowering odor...Overcrowded. They have cut all the hours at their other nearby. Forcing everyone here. Which I guess you can do when you buy all the gyms in town.

Hours changed and no longer can use the gym. I work til 9 on Friday and Saturday nights and no longer can workout there after work. So glad I kept my membership during covid to try and help them keep going. Place was never clean but at least it was open 24 hrs. Had been going downhill fast after Genesis bought out 24 hour fitness.

Have not been a member long but have enjoyed it so far. Casey and Xavier have been a joy to talk with and help me look forward to my morning workouts. Always greet me by name and make me feel welcomed. I look forward to continuing my membership for years to come.

I absolutely love this gym! Been coming here for 4 years and the staff has always been friendly and professional! The gym is fully remodelled and workout equipments are updated. Sidney is my favorite she’s always greeting members as they are walking in and walking out!

I recently started going to their water aerobic and Silver Sneakers group classes. I love everything about this gym so far. The facility is well maintained, and the staff have all been friendly and helpful to any of my needs/questions. Members are all very friendly as well. I would highly recommend the Tara Plaza site in Papillon, but I look forward to visiting some of their other locations too.

I’ve been a member at Genesis Health Clubs for 3+ years. Throughout my time, I’ve never had any complaints with the gun equipment. Clubs are were spaced out and can handle the busy hours of the day.

I came in to the Tara Plaza Genesis to buy a t-shirt and I was greeted warmly by Sydnee who was dealing with what seemed like a guest on the phone that had quite a few questions about kids club . I waited patiently, and while I waited I was very impressed by her phone voice, patience, promptness, and confidence in all her answers to the person on the phone. This is why I choose Genesis, I am always taken care of when I come in and always feel welcome, people like Sydnee is what keeps me coming back! Thanks Genesis!!!

Nice club with wide variety of equipment, aerobics room, and spin bikes. I use the free weights the most but the machines are nice. I love the sauna, hot tub, and pool, too.

Genesis is by far the best gym Ive ever held a membership to. The facilities are top notch and the workers are extremely friendly and knowledgeable.Shoutout to Sydnee for always going above and beyond to show 100% amazing customer service to all the club members!

Overall a solid experience. The staff has always been very helpful and accommodating. There is a wide selection of exercise machines with duplicates so I am not worried about waiting while others are completing their sets. Nice mix of members from all fitness backgrounds.

Sydnee and Jonathon is are two awesome staff members in the entire Genesis company. I honestly cannot complain about either one of them.Jonathon is very educated in his job and is very detailed on what he does. Ive been working out at this location for years and never had a bad experience. It is always kept neat and clean, and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

Its a good club for the money. Plenty of room outside of peak hours. If you have flexibility to workout outside of 5 to 8 pm, its definitely better.

Can I put a negative star? Good luck getting in contact with a manager after cancelling your membership and still being charged. Yes, I gave 30 days notice. There is no one here that can help with that issue is their common answer, even on weekdays. The actual gym is...meh maybe 2.5 stars. The management of memberships is the negative factor. Hard pass this gym. The YMCA is right down the road and is a more accommodating gym.

Shovel the side walks! They are never shoveled until around 8:30AM and maybe even later. In the meantime the two gals at the desk are busy with the computer and smart phones, the trainers who are not training, are busy congregating and no maintenance personnel in site! Happens all the time, accident waiting to happen.

This place will not let you get rid of your membership and instead will tack on extra charges. My friend has now paid hundreds of dollars to this place, a bunch of scammers. Even with a cancellation notice! And receipts! Time to call the lawyer.

Ive been going here 3 years and especially love the classes, cleanliness and the Kids Club! The manager when I joined, now the regional manager, was especially helpful and went above and beyond to work with me as far as pricing and makes me want to stay a member!!

The basketball ball Courts need some attention. Today was ver dangerous due to moisture on the court.

The place was awesome. The people were friendly. The pool is great, a little cooler if you are a pro swimmer you wont over heat. The hot tub was nice and clean to warm up after. Steam room, shower, and sauna all on the pool deck. No swimsuit dryer but they do have excellent towel service.

Got this membership because they were 24 hours and since I have an odd schedule, its easy to go after work. I have a pretty demanding job and dont want to be sore at work from my workouts. Since covid, I can barely go due to their restricted scheduling which honestly doesnt make sense to me because closing early isnt going to make a difference in the grand scheme of things since they dont check temperatures, enforce masks or even social distancing even when they are open. Still cant get an answer from someone about when or if the hours will go back to normal so I can actually use the membership that Im paying for.

Kids/teen stay sneaking in and they suck at check ins while I pay 50 a month kids regularly get in for free

Challenging water aerobics class.

My wife and I have been going to this gym far before Genesis purchased it from 24 Hour Fitness. We severely miss the management of 24 hour fitness. The management at his location cant do the simple courtesy of clearing their parking lot or sidewalks after snow storms. As you can imagine, after navigating your way through the slush covered parking lot, you get to work out with stained water soaked shoes, not to mention the entry way, and cardio equipment gets a heavy layer of slushy road grim. When we asked the front desk about clearing the parking lot, they said they dont even have anyone on file to call.In addition many of the weights smell like death/decay, from which i can only assume if from a lack of cleaning.I gave an extra star as they have a couple newer pieces of equipment we like...

Hate the sauna, and the steaming room doesnt separate.

Not impressed with this chain of fitness facilities. I received much better services with 24 hour Fitness before Genesis took them over. I recently canceled my membership and the still stuck me for another payment because I failed to give them 30 days notice which they don’t make you aware of. Apparently they’re supposed to “explain” that another month’s membership fees will be taken (they did not) after the cancellation because of the little 30 days clause in the cancellation paperwork. I moved out of state so I was pretty much told tough luck when I called to complain about.

Been coming to this club for about 6 months now. Have never felt more at home then I do at this club. The fitness advisors and training staff have helped get to my goals and lost over 30lbs with in my time here. Xavier, Casey, Jacob, sydnee have helped me with my journey!

I like the friendly atmosphere of the staff. I have enjoyed the zumba class and LOVE the aqua fitness with YO! Her positive attitude, and willingness to get to know you as a person gives you that willingness to want to come every week, and disappointed if you cant.

You need to plow the driveway and sidewalks! I’ve picked up seniors on multiple occasions! Also your staff is in-attentive. Lockers are CONSTANTLY locked with nothing in there.

I love this club and have been coming since 2006 when it was originally 24 Hour Fitness. The pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna are the biggest attractions for me, I guess. The remodeling that was done a couple years ago was wonderful. Looks beautiful.I have a memberships at a few other gyms but I prefer to drive 20 miles to this gym instead of those that are close by me.The only negatives and the smelly carpet in the mens locker room and the horrible music (meant for 14 year old boys) coming out of the PA system.

The gym is good and love it. But the people working needs training . A lot of them are good. I wont recommend working with Aaron kroeger. Extremely rude . Got in to an argument with him asked for his card so I can complain. He threw the card at me. I told him i am gonna complain and his response was so what.and he literally laughed.i dont know if he is at a position he dont care, or he just gets away with this. Or he is just rude like that.Other then him I would recommend this place

Was a member for 2 years. Facilities were pretty nice, most of the machines were old and worn but the free weights were great. Pool and spa areas were always clean, lockers too for the most part. Kinda bro-ish and macho during peak times.Cancelled due to pandemic and because no one in here practices social distancing or wears masks. Its crazy crowded. When I went to cancel, only about half the people got temperature checked. Once they realized I was serious they told me their printer wasnt working (without even trying to print something) and sent me across town to another location. I bet if someone wanted to join, theyd find a way to print stuff off... Rude manager.

The paid for Gym instructors do a good job but if you cant use their service they make it practically impossible to cancel your membership with them even giving notice they try every tactic to not get you to give up your membership even if you move for military service. Just be aware of this for any service members.

Need to pick up towels and water bottles people leave behind. There everywhere. And sometimes are there for a couple of days !! Also I see people taking up to 4 towels when they come in then none when we come in. Someone needs to take charge and I force rules!

As an person who has dealt with Genesis and their many locations for over the past two years, I can tell you that in my opinion this is the absolute worst company to deal with and the worst gym chain in the Midwest.I have had problems at multiple locations (including this one) that have gone all the way up the corporate ladder to the Vice President and I can tell you that even at that level they are not interested in solving customer problems.They appear to be very interested in money and business, but beyond that they are not people-friendly. If you get online and read reviews of Genesis at various locations around Omaha, you will see that many people have the same issues. So, the problematic theme at this company has never been solved and continues negatively affect good people.They also have a problem with personal training. As a Master of Kinesiology and a Master Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, I can also tell you that they do not train people the way that modern standards recommend. Every location is different and will give different training paths - none of which truly train people the way modern trainers should.Please stay away from this company.

From the second you walk into this gym you feel like your at one of the fancier health clubs in town. Beautifully remodeled, always clean, always kept up, towel service, WiFi, pool, hot tub, spa, steam room. This place has the whole 9 yards and is far and away the best genesis in town!!!

UPDATE for 2021. Equipment has been repaired, maybe with the lockdown they had time to do things. That’s why I added a star. I still think they need to add more seating in the men’s locker room there are nooks of like 30 lockers each, a bench that only seats TWO in each one. I don’t like putting things on their floor . The showers still have an issue with maintaining temperature. People don’t put their towels in the hamper. They do have a nice hot tub, I have to say. West roads is my favorite.

I like how friendly the staff is. It is always clean. The machines all work properly..... ( used ones that didnt work at other places ). Everyone that works out there is seems to be really nice and helpful when it comes to asking about different workouts or asking to spot them. Id say it is by far my favorite genesis!!!

My fiancee and I used to go to gyms available through our employers (both were about free), and then we joined another local gym when we moved to Papillion. After about six months, we decided to switch to Genesis. We have both found our new experience superior and motivating. First, Genesis has a ton of locations, which helps if you have frequent changes to your routine. Second, Genesis just has better equipment and facilities. Most important, the Genesis team members are positive, always friendly/helpful, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in getting you the best deal for your needs. Genesis is definitely affordable and has a perks system with rewards you would actually want. Very impressed with their club, and both my fiancee and I are already seeing better results and feeling healthier!

It gets very busy at times but the staff is nice and machines are mostly clean. its a great facility and training staff is friendly and kind. the pool is nice and the instructor are super knowledgeable and give you a good workout. a little expensive but worth it.

Wish they had more classes between 6am-7am

I find this gym to be clean and the staff is very friendly. Every gym has some sort of fees and if you have been a member of a gym most of your life you would know this. However they always have great promotions to offset that. If you are serious about getting healthy and working out the staff here is great to help in anyway. They dont pressure you at all, they are doing their job and if you feel this way your not serious about getting healthy. Give them 5 stars all day.

I have been going to this gym for over 5 years. It was previously 24 Hour Fitness and changed to Genesis. Troy has always been a face is friendly and knows my family by name. The Kids Club is awesome! My kids ask to go to the gym because they love it so much. They have friendly staff, decent amenities and towel service. On Saturdays they get the kids from 5-13 to do a Kids Fit and my oldest loves going. They are in a tight spot so they cant grow much or add any new structures without inconveniencing their members. During their renovation it was rough but well worth the changes. I wouldnt go anywhere else unless there was a HUGE advantage.

Everything is operational. The clerk takes your temperature to make sure youre not sick. The members, from what Ive seen, do their part in wiping up after each use.

This is my favorite location for workouts. The staff is always friendly. The gym itself has always been clean. I work overnight and love 24/7 availability

I just want to give a shout out to staff at the Genesis at Tara Plaza! Everyone from the front desk attendees to the manager to the training staff are all very supportive and friendly. The management and trainers in particular are always wiling to listen to fitness concerns/goals and work WITH you to set a plan that fits to you while offering support along the way!! Remodel was needed, and though I could do without the multicolored pathway carpet, it looks good.The cherry wood lockers and gray tiling in locker room is especially nice.New workout area is an improvement as well...I just hope there isnt an attempt (like I was told by an employee a few months ago there would be at some point) to try to void the lifetime rate for the membership contract I bought nearly 15 years ago...A contract that came along with everything else Genesis purchased from 24 Hour Fitness.

I love that this Genesis location has a pool, hot-tub, steam room, sauna, basketball court, and a huge main floor for cardio and lifting weights. Big fan of the renovation and how nice and maintained the club is. Im always welcomed by the front desk when I arrive at the gym. Im really happy here. The ONLY thing that this gym is missing is a swim suit dryer and or bags in the locker room.

I havent ever written a negative review in my life but Ive had it with Genesis. When I signed up for a membership everything was fine but when I would check in each day they wouldnt have a key for me and theyd continually check me in as a guest and tell me theyre fixing the issue. A month later they had some staff changes and insist that I sign a new contract to get my key. I said thats not a problem, I understand. I signed the new contract and continued my membership as usual. Since discontinuing my membership Im now being taken to small claims court for the first contract that they claimed they lost. Not only that, but I still get multiple calls a week from them begging me to come pack and sign up for a new membership. This is the most unprofessional and unorganized company Ive ever dealt with in my life. My recommendation is to stay far away. Yes, it was my mistake to trust them and sign the second contract but I never thought it would lead to this. I hope this $422 small claims case is worth all the negativity thats gonna come with it for you guys.

This is such a great health club. I was in the Papillion area for the week,and decided to check out Genesis. It was such a great gym, with great equipment, and great staff. Recommend for anyone visiting Omaha, and looking to get their workouts in. Also recommend for people living in Omaha.

I love this club. I have had a mostly unused membership for a loooong time (injured myself). In late August I decided to get serious and began working with a trainer. Andrew has helped me with form and pushes me to work hard. And who wants to waste money? So I am now faithful to work out. I feel so much better. This club was recently remodeled and there are some stations that are actually fun! And the staff is great. :)

The new remodel and updates to the locker room and training floor have really improved the atmosphere and look of the club! I love the variety of classes. My favorites are Group Power, HIIT, and boot camp. The instructors are super friendly and dedicated to making sure you get a great workout each time. If I had one request, bring back the Thursday 630pm Power Class, can’t make the 530 due to work til 6. Overall, great place to workout!

I love this Club. I have been talking to Robert about getting my son and Bf their own memberships and he did not pressure me at all. Got to know me and it was about me not the sale. I honestly have never felt more happy about a purchase. He made me feel like family and everyone there has been so nice. Thank you again.

This gym is great after the remodeling. The locker rooms look fantastic and the new equipment is a ton of fun to use. The facility itself is very well maintained and it is a pleasure to work out here. Looking forward to a new steam room.

I think my favorite thing about Genesis is the smooth transition it provided when it took over the previously-owned location. And while I havent taken any of the classes, it appears theyve offered more, or perhaps more people are using them.Their new equipment is phenomenal, however, I think some barbells need to be tossed and replaced.Another perk is Genesis gives you access to tons of gyms across the Omaha metro, but I like Tara best because it isnt often packed over the lunch hour or 5 a.m. hour.

Clean gym, friendly staff, up to date equipment and awesome group fitness classes are the reasons I give this club 5 stars!

The Genesis Health Club of Tara Plaza is a great gym with a wide variety of equipment and dumbbells so you can get a workout in without worrying about not being able to get to the things you need as long as it isnt peak times 4:30-5:30pm. On top of that they have a sauna and a steam room and they are doing renovations now to make the club even nicer. I would recommend it to anyway one willing to spend the money.

Genesis does a great job of keeping their equipment clean and has just about everything you would need from a gym. The only thing I would criticize is the number of clamps they have for the barbells - it would be nice to have a set for every bench and squat rack. Other than that, the facilities are excellent.
