Our experience with the service counter was great!no problems. Very nice customer service.Loved the car I rented.. NO HASSLENO HASSLE
Pure Hell. Well I originally gave this a 1 star but after doing this I believe it wasnt fair. Our rental van had a flat. Alamo provided a tow truck and a Uber to get us to our vacation rental. I was surprised on being provided both. The original rating should have reflected the the trouble of receiving our replacement and the gentleman who waited on us. He didnt take the time to explain some things and thats where the 1 star came from. Due to the excellent service of the tow and Uber ride Im going to bump the rating to 4 stars.
Would you jeopardize the safety of your family? We arrived at ECP to pick up our intermediate SUV rental. At time of pick up we noticed during our inspection of the exterior, worn out tires which were already into and/or past the wear bars. On moving inside we noticed a filthy interior; and once started we noticed had been a smoker’s vehicle evidenced by smell from the aircon. We asked Alamo representatives if there was another rental available and was told there was not. We departed ECP. The next day during a rainstorm, we nearly hydroplaned off the road in the rental with 30,000 miles and aparently still on it’s OEM and worn out tires which couldn’t dissipate the water on the road. We had to cancel our planned trip out due to safety concerns with the Alamo rental and fact that it rained all day on Sunday. We called to Alamo on the number shown on the contract, but were routed to a call center. We expressed our concerns with the call center CSR, and he said someone would call us regarding our concerns . . . Well, no one ever did. On Monday, we were able to find a cheaper and better rental with actual tread on the tires and returned the safety hazard to Alamo at ECP on a fortunately sunny day. We were told we were being billed for 3 x days, and we asked why we were billed for a day we couldn’t drive. The counter guy smugly asked what we expected after having put 150 miles on the car over 3 days - his innuendo was that we had adequate use of the rental and didn’t need any compensation. Funny, he expressed zero concern for our safety after he was reminded that the tires had no tread. Further his smug attitude failed to acknowledge the 20 mile one-way trip to and from ECP. In consideration of the.poor service and.lack of concern for their customers safety, recommend avoiding this location. Especially if you value your family’s safety, and your hard earned dollars!
My experience with Alamo was excellent. We had a very short wait at the airport in Panama City Beach. There was only one person working the counter, but that gentleman worked quickly and efficiently. He even gave us a free upgrade without us asking. Upon returning the vehicle, our experience was the exact same. Quick and efficient. Will definitely be renting from Alamo again.
Left a package in car, and unable to connect with a living soul re retrieval!Been trying for almost 24 hours.
When I arrived in Panama City Beach, the car was not prepared, however, the representative was quick to respond and compensated me for my wait. During my stay in PCB, Hurricane Irma was barreling near by and I wasnt sure if I would be able to leave on an earlier flight back to Detroit. I called Alamo and explained my situation and asked if I could drive the car to Nashville, where I could catch a flight home. The representative understood my situation and allowed me to drop the car off at a different location without any fees. What a relief to receive such great service during a stressful time. Oh, and the car was fantastic!
Easy to find, pick up vehicle and return!
The rudest staff members!
Car wasnt really cleaned like advertised. Lowered the sun visor while driving and a rental agreement fell onto my lap....wasnt mine. I consider a sun visor a high touch area. On a positive note the windshield was clean and I could see.
Thanks to Ray and Nicholas who helped me get the perfect car after I had booked the wrong one. They were so helpful, and the car we got was in super shape. I’ll use Alamo again!!!
Tremendous service. Our airline changed our flight time and Alamo was great about it. We had a nice Ford Edge for the week. Trouble free experience.
It was a smooth and easy rental. I rented early and got a great rate and a really nice car. I just wish the radio worked or the GPS. I know its not standard, wish it was.
VERY VERY BAD EXPERIENCE WITH MY RENTAL CAR,, I CALL THE ONE IN THE PANAMA CITY AIRPORT SPOKE TO THE GUY NAME KEVIN. HE HAD ME TO LEAVE MY NAME AND PHONE NUMBER, HE INFORMED ME THAT WHOEVER RACHEL IS WAS GOING TO CALL ME. SO NONE RETURNED MY CALL MY FIANCE AND I WENT TO REFILLED THE GAS TOOK THE CALL BACK TO THE AIRPORT, THE MITSUBISHI ON THE INVOICE STATED ITS BLACK WHEN IN FACT IT WAS RED. THERE WERE NO GET UP AND GO ABOUT THE CAR, IF YOU EVEN ATTEMPT TO GIVE IT SOME GAS WHILE UP IN TRAFFIC. ITS YOUR LIFE, I HAD A WOMAN PULLED OUT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME AND I HAD TO SLAM THE BREAKS.. MY FIANCE AND I DOWN FROM CINCINNATI OHIO AND SPEND OUR VERY FIRST FULL DAY TRYING TO GET ANOTHER CAR RENTAL ELSEWHERE. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE SERVICE RENDER, SO NOT PROFESSIONAL. IF I CAN GIVE THEM A NO STAR ON THIS REVIEW I SURE WILL. NOBODY SHOULD COME FROM ONE STATE TO ANOTHER TO HAVE THEIR VACATION RUINED AND TRYING TO FIND ANOTHER CAR FOR THE REMAINING OF THEIR VACATION. DONT LET THEM LEASE THIS (RED CAR, THATS NOT BLACK TO YOU). CAUSE THIS THE LEMON WE WERE GIVEN TO US, THIS CAR NEEDS A SHOP ATTENTION.
Edwin was awesome and very professional! Will be back
Customer rep was very friendly. We got a free upgrade to a Ford Explorer with 5000 miles on it. The rental car lot was just across from the terminal exit. I noticed a small dent/scratch that I called into the counter, and they made a note of it. The verbal instructions for getting to our destination were good. The tourist map of the area was somewhat lacking, but we had our own GPS, so it mattered not. The price quoted was the price we paid, and it was the lowest of the competing rental companies at the airport. No problems. Great rental.
Alamo ECP thats Panama City Beach Florida. I dont want to say the Caucasian employees here are racist but Im starting to think they are. Its two of them a Caucasian male 35 and female 25. Everytime I go to rent a car from this location with these two only. The amount of the rental goes up $$$at the counter. The 1st issues was with the Caucasian female told me I turned the rental car into the Miami Beach Florida location. Im like how when I havent went to Miami and Im here bringing the car back now. She was so serious I was out done with that one. I always add my husband for no fee and this last rental pick up the Caucasian male said we would have to pay $150.00 for an extra driver I have never payed extra. The same Caucasian male on another rental went into my account and took off the $10.00 discount talking about it was valid. Im so sick of employees acting like they own the company and make 2 cents on a dollar And racist people period.
We did not get the Midsize car we reserved they stated only a economy car was available. We had trouble getting both piceses of our luggage in had to put the seat down. The cars are clearly marked NO SMOKING the car smelled bad and the windows were smoke filmed we bought glass cleaner to clean them. Contacted customer service. they were prompt with a reply. We realize things happen and we would book with them when the need arises.
Just the worst experience in car ranting they had no cars I hope the will go fully bankrupt soon Just useless renting company
I would not recommend Alamo. Use one of the many other options. It is clearly cheap for a reason. Our car keeps making weird sounds and shifts when idling and driving on the interstate. The car seat we rented is stained and is not the right size. They were no help putting it in and couldn’t even provide us with an instruction manual. All around a bad experience and we will never rent from them again.
The agents were friendly and very accommodating to my request at the ticket counter. However, I would recommend that renters be informed of the policy for returning the vehicle is to place it back in the same numbered spot you picked it up in. This need to be explained to ALL renters, because when I returned my rental someone was in my slot. Then when I told the agent about it, he said thats okay, just park anyway. This seems a bit unorganized! Also, you REALLYneed to have more than one golf cart going around to pick up customers!! Especially customers that have a lot of luggage. Its very difficult to have to walk the distance to the terminals if you have a lot of luggage. More gulf carts on duty please!!!! It is for these 2 reasons, I have to give an overall rating of 3 stars instead of 5. But again, the agents were really nice!
Somehow, I keep on getting charge for the Gasoline service, even though I declined that service in the counter when picking up the car. Purposely, remarked it three times to the Clerk in my last car rental, but once again I am being force to contact my credit card to challenge the gas service charges.
Reason: service is great... but the car they gave us is not comfortable. Altima is very low seating and it to hard to get in and out. Smoke smell even no smoking requested.
Fair price and service but charged me for the rental ($475 for 12 days) plus $500 for Im not sure what. Think it might have something to do with a trim piece on the passenger side window that blew off. The car only had 1,500 miles on it and having a piece fall off while driving down I-10 was somewhat scary, but why would I be responsible for a defect on a brand new car?? Not sure if thats what the the $500 is for and they never called to tell me they where going to charge me anything. We turned in the car on the 25th and Im waiting for a response.
Great experience. Person at the counter was EXTREMELY helpful. He even remembered that I had called a couple weeks earlier to change my pick-up time. Could not ask for a better experience. Car was ready and waiting for us. Would rate higher if I could.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I reserved a car well in advance of our trip to Panama City. I rented the vehicle at 2:11pm today. It is now 4:00 pm and we are just now getting the car. Very frustrating to spend this much time standing around waiting. Every single time I asked for an update, I was told 10 minutes. Im not sure what the system is here, but it is obviously broken! This happened the last time I used Alamo, but I gave them another shot thinking that was just a bad day. I will NEVER use Alamo again! They are obviously not prepared.
Terrific Experience! The two guys at the desk were so helpful and wonderful to talk with. Best car rental experience ever!
Unreal. Virtually no travelers, and Alamo has no cars available for people with reservations. Like you didnt know youve got ten people getting off a plane with reservations for vehicles. Estimating a long wait.. Ridiculous.
I used Alamo 3 times in 1 week and the first 2 rentals were great. The 3rd one was not so good. It so happened the car I chose ended up having a mildew smell when the heat was turned on. I was too far down the road when I used the heat and there wasnt another Alamo along my route to trade it in. Also the car was from Canada and the units were only in Kilometers which wasnt a big deal since I used to live in Korea. I received a call from Alamo for a review from the first rental and told them about the problems with the third. Also the guy at the counter said that car shouldnt have been on the lot. I was supposed to get a call back and never received it.
Did NOT appreciate my HIKE to find my car in spot 196.I would greatly appreciate your cpmpany bringing my rental vehicle up to the front rathwer tah me walking all over, not sure where I am going.Same thing on the return, drop off the car and HIKE back to the ticketing area.By far, the worst pick-up and drop-off, arrangement I have ever experienced.
Renting a car at this facility was awesome! The people were friendly and the service was speedy. Will definitely use them in the future!
When we arrived the morning of 4/30, the desk was overwhelmed due to several flights arriving all at once and cars were delayed because of staffing shortages. The woman who checked us in was patient and friendly with some very impatient, difficult customers. She was fantastic! The vehicle and process at arrival and departure were all good. I wish I remembered her name. Thank you!
When I arrived to the Alamo counter I was helped by the agent. She put me in a Nissan small SUV, the car was leaking? So I went back into the airport and she switched me to a Chevy SUV. The car was fairly old, looks like it was time to retire it. The passenger light would not shut off? The agent was outside smoking at that time so she came over to take a look. The agent said it was just a scencor and it shouldnt be a problem? I told her I didnt feel comfortable and I would prefer another car. She had called her supervisor on the phone and I was given a full size SUV.
Very friendly and helpful. Best bang for my buck!
Recently flew into ECP airport in Panama City Fl. The service with Alamo car rental was a fast, friendly and very affordable. The vehicle was new and very clean. Alamo car rental beat everyone on cost. Will most definitely use Alamo car rental for my future travels.
I reserved a vehicle on-line for 128.00 when I arrived to pick it up I was told the amount was 184.00, fortunately I had printed out the on-line paper work. The paperwork also stated I would be getting a Buick but I was told that they upgraded me, what I got was a Jeep Patriot, not sure that would be considered an upgrade. Everything else went smoothly.
Although it was a short rental, just one day, I have received an excellent attention from the Alamo crew. Always in every place including Mexico. Thanks Alamo
Rented a full size at the Northwest Florida Beaches airport location. I checked in on-line the afternoon of the rental (I am a insider). Once we got to the counter later that evening, the agent told me my reservation had been cancelled. He then, with assistance from another agent, created a new reservation and stated the charge would be $350, rather than the $198 I booked and checked in with. Obviously that didnt work for me and after telling him the price would be $198 or nothing, the assisting agent was able to work a fix and all was well. A minute or so of stress to begin the vacation, but it worked out.Returning it was simple and convenient. I will still rent with Alamo.
Our family rented an 15 passengers van for a funeral out of town. When we arrived to pick it up the counter agent couldnt find the keys. The counter agent tried to call workers from the previous shift to find the keys. After an hour of looking a manager showed up to help look. After we waited for 3 hours they gave us 2 7-pasenger vans, which we didnt have anyone to drive. This was a horrible experience. Ill rent from someone else the next time. We were sitting in this cold airport from 8pm - 11pm. Customer service is even worse. They are located in India and said there was nothing they could do because they are located in India… just horrible!
Agent at the desk was very efficient and friendly. We rented a full size SUV which was a low mileage Nissan Pathfinder. We used the Dropbox for a 6 a.m. drop off. All went perfectly.
Absolutely horrible service, had a reservation several months in advance, arrived to only be told sorry they were out of cars. Put forth zero effort in trying to help us get the problem resolved. We were told we would hear from a manager to resolve our issue which of course never happened. Our family ended up having to take a cab to an off-site rental car company to rent a vehicle. Dont waste your time with the place, they could careless about you or your reservation.
Great staff, easy check in, car location, and car was clean and ran perfect.
This was the 1st time in 16 years that I have ever traveled & arrived to pick up my rental car & was told there were none available!! This was the worst experience that I have ever had when renting a car. It wasnt the guys fault @ the desk, all the cars were given out before he got there that night. I had to have someone come & pick me up to take me to my hotel & then had to spend an additional $50 to take a taxi back to the airport the next day to pick up my rental. I would never recommend Alamo @ the PCB airport ever again. I had recommended it to friends & they had arrived that morning & received their rental car. Not to mention I had booked my mid size SUV 2 months ago & my friends had booked a compact car 2 weeks ago & received a full size SUV when they arrived!! It was horrible..
All around a good experience, pick up, drop off and a really nice car
Easy experience. Nice helpful people, fantastic car.
Paid for a mid size SUV and received a small car. It was 11 pm when I signed for the car and I specifically asked the clerk if it was an SUV and she said yes. By the time I got out to the lot and discovered the error, she had left and the office was closed.Since I had no choice and was traveling the next few days, I didnt have an option. Terrible service and I would recommend NOT using Alamo.
Great person at desk helped me with a serious problem. I left an iPad in my car when I returned. Didnt notice for almost two hours. Went back to counter and the girl there called and found it still in the car at the cleaning facility. She had them drive the iPad to the terminal, went out herself and got it and handed to me at the counter. Amazing service!
The worst experience of my lifetime rentals with alamo,in fact the only bad experience with alamo.
Check in/out was effortless. Agent was courteous and efficient. Car was great.
No problems, even got an upgrade. Will definitely use them again
Had an issue where we had to unexpectedly drop off at a different location. Manager Rachel took care of it and made a happy customer.
Employees and supervisor are rude and not accommodating! I reserved a full size SUV a week in advance and confirmed the reservation twice before going to pick up the car. Upon arrival my car was not available and the supervisor had no concern or sympathy at all. It is now over 2 weeks later and Im still waiting to hear from the regional vice president!
We made reservation with Alamo and travel from Miami to Panama City. I need to say than everything works (headly gps) and servis was very good. Big thanks to guys at Panama City airport, where we dropped of our rented car. For future I will count wirh Alamo :)
Great experience with Alamo. Nice car, great rate, easy! Thanks!
So I booked thru Alamo and after double checking for my wife who flys into ECP late at night, I was told that she will not have a car due to the fact they will be closed... So now she will be stranded without a vehicle all because I cant get ahold of anyone at the airport. Worst customer service I have ever seen!
Alamo Rent A Car is my rental company of choice. The rental in Panama City was a breeze and they were very helpful. I couldnt ask for better service and friendly representatives.
I rent with Alamo quite a bit, and almost always at this location (ECP). This was the first time Ive had a really bad experience and it was pretty much bad from beginning to end, so I thought I should say something.I arrived on 9/20/16 at 4pm to pick up my car (I signed up for a surprise car, so I assumed it was whatever was available). I needed to pick my daughter up at 4:45pm from school, so that was plenty of time. The gentleman that waited on me seemed frazzled that I was picking up my car and had to call his manager. He came back and said there were 2 available, a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee with only 300 miles on it and a GMC Terrain. I was driving to Orlando for work. so I chose the Jeep. He gave me the keys and I had pIenty of time to get to my daughter.I got to the Jeep, got everything set up (mirrors, seat, saw where everything was) and then looked at the dash to see that the tire pressure alert was on saying that the right rear tire was only at 23 PSI. Then I noticed that there was only 3/4 of a tank of gas in the car (knowing that I needed to bring it back filled up). I thought about leaving and filling the tire myself because I had to pick up my daughter, but then it dawned on my that if the rear tire was almost flat on a car with only 300 miles on it, there must be a problem with the tire.I went back to the airport desk to exchange the car and began calling people to try to get my daughter picked up. The gentleman was with a couple at the desk that was requiring a translator back and forth to rent the car, so it was about a 15 minute wait. I finally got up there at 5pm, he switched out the key, made me sign and initial everything again (no apology or anything), and I was on my way.The GMC Terrain was an OK vehicle. It rode a little rough and there was a HORRIBLE smell (like BO). So I stopped right away for air fresheners. By the morning, the smell was tolerable. The car did fine on the trip, Orlando and back was fine. I arrived back to ECP at around 2pm on 9/24/16. I stood at the counter for 2 - 3 minutes with 2 girls sitting behind the desk, both on what appeared to be their personal cell phones. One girl finally looked up and said dropping off or picking up?. I said I was dropping off. Tank full? I said yes. You need a receipt?. I said I did. She printed one out and handed it to me and that was it!Im sure all of this sounds minor, but Ive been in the hospitality business for 25 years. It was the craziest customer experience Ive ever encountered.Because Ive always had a better experience than this, I will continue to rent through Alamo, but Im hoping it improves.
Not only do they have great customer service the rental car was fantastic
For the first time ever I was extremely disappointed with my experience renting from Alamo. Being a member of the Alamo Insiders loyalty club, I expected a completely different reception and experience. If not for, the Manager on duty, Nikki, when I brought the car back, her apology and apparent concern that I was upset, I would have rated this a ONE star and seriously questioned EVER renting a car from Alamo/National again.Though my reservation was placed almost three months before I arrived in Panama City, no car was waiting for me when I arrived. I was forced to wait more than 30 minutes with my family and my bags by the desk for a car to come around. The explanation I received was well this is Spring Break weekend and we havent had any cars returned! Again, I say what about my three month reservation??? What does an Alamo Insider membership do for you?? Hertz and Avis would never have treated one of their loyal customers that way.To make matters worse, when a Full Sized car became available, it was a VW Jetta, most likely the smallest Full Sized car in their fleet. My request had been for a Ford Fusion, Chevy Impala or similar. Cars Ive never had a problem with. Since this Jetta was very small and I am 63 & 230# I felt like a sardine in the low ceiling car and very uncomfortable as well as unsafe which I will explain further down.It turned out that I had to return to the airport to pickup another member of my family the next day. I thought that with notice, it now was only five hours after I picked up the car, perhaps, I could exchange cars. The car was still as clean as I got it except for some beach sand which was not vacuumed out when I got it originally. After several calls to the desk from my house in Seagrove Beach, I finally reached someone, named Eric who said he didnt have ANY cars available, even if I wanted to upgrade to a SUV for instance, but check in when I was at the airport. When I came back to the desk the next day, Eric was on duty, but no, still no other cars were available. Here is when I became further frustrated. First I explained that as well as the size issue, the low tire pressure indicator was on and what happened then really pissed me off. His response was if you get a flat, call roadside service. What!!!! With young grandchildren, Im suppose to wait by the side of the road or even possibly have a BLOWOUT??? The car had almost 20,000 miles on it exceeding most tires length of service. No offer to check the tire while I was waiting for my daughters plane to arrive (45 min) and as said before NO OTHER CARS AVAILABLE!!!As we were picking up her bags, I glanced over at the desk and noticed 6 people in line, most of which were young Spring Breakers, most likely not Alamo Insiders. Seemed like no one was turned away and all got cars!!!As for the safety issue, as Ive explained, I could have been faced with a flat tire or worse. In addition, because the car was so small, I banged my head getting in and out. I basically had to fold myself awkwardly when I did. Thank the lord I didnt have to exit quickly like in an accident. As it was, a few days later with the trouble turning around, I did back into a pickup trucks trailer hitch and tore up the bumper, costing me an additional $500 which was my personal damage liability deductible.Lastly, I have rented cars all over the country for business and pleasure and have never as much as had to discuss a scrape or ding let alone have an accident.I believe that better corporate policies and certainly better customer service training for employees such as Eric would go a long way to helping Alamo Rent Car be a better company.
Nothing like getting to your vacation destination and being told they will not honor same day reservations- even if you have a confirmation.
Worst car company ever. Terrible customer service.
Great service and was very happy! :)
Friendly and courteous customer service.
Great experience, friendly helpful employees
The car I requested was not available so they borrowed a car from Enterprise and it was still not the type of car I requested.
Outstanding service and vehicle
Amazingly low prices
Rude employees every time Ive been in there
If you dont speak English, a staff who does not solve practically does not rent the car. Language barriers and are in an international airport
