Felicia supported our son’s college application starting during sophomore year, from figuring out what colleges to consider and ending with the discussions on how to compare and decide on what college to attend. What impressed me most was how – despite my son’s reserved personality – she quickly connected to him and understood who he truly was and what was important for him. She helped him assess what colleges he might be happiest at and achieve what he wanted to achieve. At the end he was able to build an application strategy that reduced the number of colleges he needed to apply to due to sequencing of early with late applications and applying to those that were a good fit, thus getting accepted in all but one college that he applied to.A valuable part of her input was on what colleges were looking for in the assay prompts and how to most efficiently structure the sequence of assays so you he could reuse parts of his writing. What was precious was Felicia’s encouraging approach, highlighting my son’s strengths to him and making him feel positive about himself and his accomplishments so that he could write a strong assay that also really showed who he was. This increased his confidence in himself, which is so crucial during this time. As a parent, I benefited most from the clear timing for each step that Felicia provided. Right after the first meeting I felt like a cloud lifted and the path was clear for us – doable and clearly planned. Throughout the whole process it felt like Felicia was a friend and someone we could rely on for advice at any time. Compared to other families our application process was less stressful, and even felt easy at times due to her calm and steady support.

My husband and I wanted to preserve our parental relationship with our son so finding a college coach was top of our list. We allowed our son to interview a few other local resources and out of the 3 Felicia just got him. That is what set us in motion. She quickly matched him with a coach that helped him discover and refine his college essays. That was a huge help. Our son had a good list and had done some research on colleges he was interested in. From there Felica was able to guide the tactical steps to getting into a place where we all feel is absolutely the best fit. The college application process is very complex and without her help we would have made mistakes that could have been costly. In a game of margins, it’s undoubtedly a benefit to work with someone who knows the playbook front to back. From the time I met Felicia in sophomore year until I was accepted into my top-choice school during senior year, she did much more for me than just help with honing my story. Felicia improved my writing skills, connected me with people from her network, and most importantly became someone I felt like I could trust and ask advice from, even outside the spectrum of college admissions.
