She told me that the system does not work and propose me an awful rate. For 40 euros she gave me 33 dollars. Terrible service.
Just got back from a trip to the UK to be with family...great memories...and also great service from a woman before I left...the Travelex product she sold me performed well and was accepted everywhere I went...including Amsterdam/Prague/Germany and the UK...
Now I understand the poor reviews. This place is on the verge of extortion. They talk a game of Being this respected company with this network of locations around the world yet they’re trying to tell me they have no way to look at the fact that I paid for the buyback insurance at a different location. I call BS on this business. So happy that I did not come home without much foreign currency. It really was much more convenient to just use my ATM card while I was abroad. TRAVELEX = BAD
FRAUD! I traded 170 EUR to USD at an exchange rate of 1.1041. But they actually flip it around in their system, so the ACTUAL exchange rate was 0.9057. Including service fees I effectively lost 18% of my money, comparing to the direct exchange rate. They refused to refund me, saying thats their own exchange rate how they make it. Avoid these guys at all cost.
10USD commision for conversions below 250USD. Total ripe off! Also their conversion rate is bad. Better to take out money from the ATM.
Today I looked up the exchnge rate online at $1.13. I got $1.35 from travelex plus $10 max fee, $1.21 from Chase (our bank) no fees, and $1.21 from Great Mall exchange with $10 max fee. Had to order from bank a few days ahead though. Check your bank as it may be different. I have had same problems in Europe. You have to ask the right question. I ask for $100 how many euros will I walk away with including all fees and costs. Also check the exchange rates as in Europe they tell you they are the same but they are not.
Terrible service. They do not convert bank of Ireland pounds even though they would be accepted in the UK. When asked why he stated that all of ireland is converting to euro. Which is completely untrue northern Ireland is recognized as a part of the UK and therefore uses pounds. -_-
The exchange rate was awful. I bought Euros there instead of the airport to get a good rate, but compare to the actual rate of 0.92 their rate was 0.799. To give you an idea my $573 turned into 450 Euros rather than 518!
I give them 20 they give me 5?
Total ripoff their exchange rate are unrealistic, your local bank will offer you the best deal. They dont deserve the star but I had to in order to post my comment.
Horrendous exchange rates. Lost $30 buying my euros here.
Horrible rates, staff know they have a monopoly
Its ight. Lol
That place is a scam, don’t go unless you are in an emergency kinda situation
Called, will not take any coin currency- Canadian Coins or otherwise. Rate is off the charts and fraudulent.
Had a sign out front that said Be back soon. Ended up waiting for half an hour while one person counted money and another employee stood there and stared at me.
Closed on Saturday at specified working hours.
Worst exchange rate.
Outrages rates
Robbery.
