Art and the team are true professionals; the work done on my aircraft was first rate with high attention to detail. The update to my panel for the engine instruments was complicated (older airplane, lots of old wiring) - what I got back was a very clean installation that removed all the old junk and was super neat and tidy.
I highly recommend Peninsula Avionics. Art is a true craftsman and ensures everything works as intended. I actually waited over a year to write this recommendation as I wanted to have some perspective on how my panel upgrade performed over time.Art performed a full panel upgrade on my Cessna 182 which consisted of a GTN 750, 2 G5s, a GMC350c, a GTX 345, the GFC 500 autopilot and Garmins AOA instrument. While this was an all Garmin solution, it is still very complicated and it is not trivial to get the components working together. Art adds significant value through his knowledge and experience with modern avionics. He is definitely a master and his attention to detail is unsurpassed. When I experienced an issue with the 750 losing its GPS signal, Art spent significant time tracking down the issue and rectified it. I strongly recommend Peninsula Avionics in Palo Alto.
Art does a nice job. He is technically competent and his prices for equipment and his time seem very fair. He is also a nice guy.
My course deviation indicator was reading incorrectly by more than sixty degrees. Art was able to calibrate both CDi units in less than an hour despite his being super busy. Great personal service.
We just used Art at Peninsula Avionics again, this time to install a Garmin G5 and rearrange some other panel instruments. We have used his facility on several previous occasions, to include major avionics upgrade projects. We have always found his work to be meticulous, and performed with great concern and attention to the smallest of details. The fit and finish of the panel and the cosmetic aspects of the installations are also impeccable. His pricing is fair and reasonable. I highly recommend Art and Peninsula Avionics, and I plan on using him in the future as our “Go to” avionics facility.Steve Feldman, AirplanesUSA Aircraft Sales, San Carlos, CA
Over the last few months in 2015 Peninsula Avionics did two major installations two of my planes. I was delighted, everything - and I mean EVERYTHING - of these complex installations worked without a glitch. This is just amazing - Ive been owning planes for 30 years and that just doesnt happen, I thought!First plane is my Bonanza A36. He installed a GTN750, a Connexts Flightstream 210, a GDL88 ADS-B in/out, a Garmin 327 Transponder, a new indicator and upgraded a few other small items, such as remote channeling for my DME etc. As you see, this is major surgery. The second plane he upgraded is my Cessna 172. It received a Garmin 530 (removed from the A36), a GDL88, a Flightstrea 210 and a new Garmin indicator to work with the 530.As I said, everything worked right off the bat! Also, after flying now for awhile with ADS-B, I wouldnt want to fly around the bay area anymore without its traffic screen. The amount of traffic you see is stunning. Note that the ADS-B also shows me planes which dont have their own ADS-B out, as long as ATC sees the on radar. So it is already tremendously useful.Since the planes have connext, I usually leave the nav maps on the 530 or GTN 740 screens and watch the traffic on an iPAD. My finance, who is a bit nervous about midairs, absolutely loves holding the ipad in her lap and watching for ADS-B traffic and then try to acquire it visually, which is very hard. Winfried
