Came in for one inch rock, received 1-3 inch rock.Got hit on by the employee in the back...over and overNEVER GOING BACK.I JUST WANTED ROCKS NOT TO BE HIT ON.

Worst place to buy river rock from. I asked my contractor buy the largest white river rock (1 1/2 to 3 in) after I checked it out at their Bee Ridge store. First, its the most expensive in this area at 186 per yard plus tax. The rock delivered is a horrible mix of less than 1 in rocks with lots of sand and occasionally some larger ones. The 3 in rocks are rare and scarcely scattered. It looked nothing like the one advertised in their boxes in the front of the store. He installed 1.5 yards of this horrible rock with sand everywhere. When I complained he showed me the receipt. Thats what he got from the Palmetto store. They sell junk mixed rock for the largest type at the highest price around.Do not buy from them, its a rip off. I have a lot of it and I am mad as hell. Why pay so much and hope for the sand to settle?

I am appalled at the condition their sod(grass) is in. The price that they sold it for, 3/4 of it is dead and theres no coming bavk from it they hid a few good ones on the top of the pallet and the rest of the pallet was dead it looks like straw,hay. If your guna sell that atleast be honest about it and do it at a discounted price.

This place is extremely helpful and courteous. Bobby loaded our car in pouring rain and was very conscientious about putting down cardboard and plastic as of course the bags of mulch was wet. The people at the desk were very helpful in figuring out how many bags I would need. I will always be a repeat customer.

This is the place for sod plugs! They usually have a bunch in stock and the plugs are fresh and in good condition. Soooo much better than the plugs sold at the big box stores locally. I once had to go down to their even bigger Sarasota location because they were short of the plug species/variety I needed. But only once.

Called big earth today to get prices on rock for a fire pit were building. The person answering the phone named Lisa talked to me like I was an inferior peasant... Definitely will not get my business or my families. Maybe instead of using sarcasm towards customers asking questions, you just inform them politely with the knowledge you know and not talk down to them...

We just went this last weekend to pick up some mulch and some lava rock. Unfortunately our trailer was damaged by the forklift operator and by the gentleman throwing the lava rock, but I do have to say a big thank you to Big Earth for fixing the situation as quickly as possible. They are replacing our trailer for us as it is inoperable and I’ve got to say they did make the best out of a bad situation. I will still be returning To purchase from them in the future.

Great selection and reasonable prices

Used this company to buy shell for the driveway. We usually get crushed shell but this time Big Earth recommended big shell because it would last longer. They were told it was for a driveway. And they delivered it into our DRIVEWAY. This shell has now popped 4 tires on 4 different cars (1 truck, 1 car, and 2 SUVs). My tire popped in the pouring rain with my 11 month old baby in the car. I have pictures on the shell in the tire. Big earth has offered free delivery of new purchases, which we might do only to pop their tires as well. We now have to hire someone to steam roll this shell and can not use our driveway until it’s crushed. This shell has cost us close to $1000 in damages for tires and now the cost of a steam roller. Thanks.

The staff here does not value their customers. Of the inside staff, NO ONE was wearing a mask. No one cared if they might transmit a deadly virus and were rude when questioned and recommended the solution, “don’t come back”.No worries, would never shop there again.

I’m a landscaper so maybe I’m a little bit biased. But what’s great is everyone gives great advice when you have questions about what’s the best thing for your landscape. They are great at accommodating deliveries as well so you can have whatever materials you need for your project delivered right to your address. My wife and I were completing a landscaping project for our home and had some crushed marble delivered. The storefront made it easy to deal with and the delivery driver also helped us with some ideas for easily dispersing it around our large garden. Price was decent, staff was nice, and delivery was simple. What more can you ask for.

Very friendly staff very laid back Environment very staff & stocked very well. The Lady upfront ( can’t remember her name) was very helpful. I went there with and ideal of what I wanted to accomplish with my DIY project after talking with her she told me how I could get it and more done for almost half of what I was willing to pay by using the right stuff. That’s extra service because she could have just took my order for top soils and pallet of grass with out leading me down the correct road. Big Earth is the place for my yard DIY project.

Fantastic value for bulk landscape and construction materials, helpful friendly staff who bend over backwards to help you. As a homeowner, you can get a tenth of a yard of material in your own recycle bin for a song. As a pro landscaper, theyll dump a couple of yards in your pick-up. Or go big with Big Earth and get up to a whole truckload (10 yards) delivered for a token fee.

Good place for your needs...more than Big box stores or Loews or home depot...convenient to where I live...but delivery costs are high at $75 per delivery, short drive

Revisited 09/25/19 Cant change much about my Post. Always treated well here.Prices on products I get (woodchips/nuggets, mulch, shell, etc) cheaper than Big Brand Stores. I always try to shop and support Local type stores whenever possible. Counter employees very polite and helpful. Highly recommend this location.

You can buy sea shells by the yard, by the ton, etc. Along with beautiful lanscape pottery and other things.
