Weve had a maintenance contract with Desert Air Conditioning for years, but when one of our 3 units recently died (of old age), we wanted to do due diligence and get bids from 4 or 5 reputable A/C companies in our area. After receiving the bids, we realized that Desert Airs quote was essentially equal to the other lowest bid for the high quality system we wanted to buy, and since we know that this company is reliable and responsive whenever problems occur, we decided to buy from Desert Air. They were good enough to offer to deliver a portable A/C unit to keep the one affected bedroom cool until they could do the install, which we thoroughly appreciated. They arrived at our house when they said they would, did a thorough job with the install, cleaned up and left us with a wonderfully quiet and cool system. We were very pleased with their professionalism and quality.

Recently, I purchased a manufactured home that had a newer a/c unit that was installed by the previous owner. I called the company that installed the unit when I could not get my house cooler than 88*. They told me that since my home was a manufactured home and not suitable for desert heat, there was not much they could do. They claimed their unit was working as specified. I had used Desert Air before and called them for help. As expected, they were timely, professional, covid19 cautious and they did a thorough inspection and recommendation. They informed me that there were all kind of problems with the new unit and that it was not even installed correctly or top code. I could pay to fix everything or consider other options. I now have a ductless a/c and heating unit that has made my home very comfortable... especially during the recent 120* days. They cleaned all the old ducts and tubing, now useless, from underneath my home and left everything spotless. Couldnt be happier.

Jessica quickly found me in the system and scheduled a same day repair. Then I received a call a couple of hours later saying they were on the way. The service person was fast and professional and fixed my A/C unit in less than 30 minutes.

I highly recommend this company. My air conditioner quit working late one afternoon and I called 4 “top rated” companies listed on Google. After explaining what happened prior to my air conditioning not working, first company did not bother to schedule an appointment but rather emailed a 7,000 estimate for a unit too big for my space that required replacing gas furnace also to electric. Second company scheduled appointment for following day then “had no record of service call” -no show. Third company, with highest service fee, called but could not send a quote for new system because of Covid and would only text general information. Finally Desert Air Conditioning arrived AHEAD of service appointment time, Barry asked two or three questions, opened unit, diagnosed problem within 5 minutes, had part on truck, installed within minutes and air conditioning works perfectly. Barry was also kind enough to check furnace, and answer many questions about types/brands of units. He contacted Steve who returned call promptly and is coming at no charge to evaluate and educate me about replacing my system. This single older person was treated with respect but most importantly did not try to up sell or take advantage of an uninformed consumer. Originally installed in 2008 we have had to replace one complete system and one compressor over the last several years. Both failures occurred on the hottest weekends of those years. Desert Air got out, evaluated the systems, got the parts and installed them complete before the next weekend.

Had Desert Air install a new HVAC system in my home. To my surprise (this doesnt happen here very often) they were here when they said they would be. Performed my total new furnace and a/c unit in the time they had told me it would take. The service techs were couteous and knowledgeable about the products. Their followup and maintenance has been really good. My total experience with them has been good.

Very professional. They gave me a 5 hour window for the technician to arrive. It would be nice if they could narrow this down. In this day and age of technology a five hour window feels excessive. What really upset me is that I have a service contract which is suppose to give me priority service and a discount on parts. As it turned out my evaporative cooler needed a new pump. I can buy this pump online at 10 different places ranging in price from $30 - $45. My discounted Desert Air special price for the part alone was $149! I felt gouged.

Ive been using the services of Desert Air Conditioning since 2003 with complete satisfaction. Their front desk staff is friendly and helpful in getting information about what I need and getting the right service person scheduled. The most recent service call was this past week to look at the furnace at a rental property that wasnt heating correctly. The technician arrived the same day I placed the service call, diagnosed the problem, ordered the needed part and had everything repaired the following day. The technician communicated with me throughout the process, letting me know when he would arrive, what the problem was, when the part could be obtained, and the cost of the repair. Desert Air installed our new furnace and A/C and we are very pleased. It was a difficult installation I thought but they breezed through it efficiently and very professionally. We are saving so much in our electric bill! The routine changing of the filters and checking the operation is done by very knowledgeable and professional people. a few years later they installed an a/c unit for our garage and again the installation was great!

I love this company. I have used them since 1998. When I first moved to Palm Springs our a/c went out in May and it was really hot. They could have sold me a new air conditioner and I would not have known any better. As it turned out they charged me $25.00 for a new fuse. Naturally, when I moved to Rancho Mirage I kept them as my service company. I have recommended them to many others. The telephone experience is always polite and competent and their service people are great. Furthermore, most of their service people have been there since I have been using them. After several years of reliable service for minor repairs, late in March of this year was when Desert Air Conditioning really showed their stuff to me. Our long time tenants were in the last week of another 3 month stay when the A/C unit quit (and in the 90s). When it was discovered that the unit couldnt be repaired I talked with Steve in the sales department who arranged for a portable unit to be delivered and set up. Once the tenants headed back to Louisville, my wife and I came down from Seattle and the next morning, at a little before 8, a team of technicians arrived and got to work - out with the old and in with the new. They were neat and efficient and by 4 that afternoon they were wrapping the job. By 4:30 I had been instructed on how to set the thermostat, how to change filters, etc. and they were gone with no sign that they had been there other than our new system.The experience far exceeded our expectations, the price was fair and the service was, as usual, excellent. You see, Manny was the very knowledgeable, reliable, trust worthy and efficient air conditioning technician who serviced my commercial air conditioning units over 18 years ago! I had Desert A/C out in July 2015 for service and was very happy; so when my heater started giving me problems in January 2016 I called again for service. Tim showed up (on time) and listened to my explanation. One of the gas burners was not igniting properly. He removed the gas burners, took them to his truck and cleaned them. When he reinstalled, it worked perfectly. He realized that the only problem was that the air conditioning condensation line had dripped onto the burner and there was a spot of rust preventing it from working. I appreciate the fact that Tim assessed the problem and made the simple repair, and did NOT try to tell me I needed a completely new gas valve fixture. I would have not known the difference. Thank you for be a honest company and not trying to rip-off unknowing customers. There are few honest ones left in the desert!!

Very Bad. We paid for a maintenance contract with this company for 4 years or more. This year they told me one of my units was low on freon and then i said ok find the leak. They claimed it may not be a leak but they would check it again in May before we left town. In May they returned and said the freon was good. we leave the freon leaks out (right by the unit)and the compressor is blown when I get back last Saturday. Why bother having maintenance contracts when it is not done correctly? I called and was told they were saving me money buy not looking for the leak!I have had no air now while its over 110 degrees outside and reaching 94 degrees in my house. There is no point to their maintenance contracts.

In 2007 we had a 3 zone system installed in our home by Desert Air. It has been working perfectly ever since. This summer we had a new Carrier 2-stage A/C system installed. We love it! You can compare brands of air conditioners until your head spins (I know I did), but I think the most important thing is to choose the best company to install it. We used Desert Air to replace the HVAC unit in the home we purchased in 2008. We signed up for their maintenance program and have been very happy with the biannual inspections. The office calls to set up the appointment, the technician shows up on time and gives us a status report each time. When I overpaid, the office caught the error and has kept track of the credit. When we had a malfunction, the technician came out and even went back to the warehouse, which my then was after hours, to get the materials he needed. Very happy with their service.
