Went on an overnight boat with the New Hustler. It was my first overnight trip on a boat before. I’ve done a ton of fishing trips but I always wanted to do an overnight trip.We ended up chartering the boat. That means that we booked the entire boat. We thought it was 22 guys.We got on the boat around 9 PM. I was actually surprised at the captain didn’t do a safety briefing. He may have done it and I may have missed it. But I never heard it. We got heading out and started fishing the outer islands early in the morning. The captain put it on the fish. We had a lot of new anglers on the boat and all of us called limits of rockfish. We also caught a bunch of white fish, sheep head, and lingcod. A couple guys also caught barracuda. Great trip

Had a blast on the new hustler. Great boat great crew and captain.

Had a fun time on my half day trip. Brought a buddy and we both caught tons of fish. Crew was nice and helped us rig up, teach us how to fish for what we were targeting, and always were there to take our fish and put into our bag. Had an awesome day!

The trip for me and my friend was good even tho we did not catch a Sea Bass or any big game fish. Reason being is the staff is super cool and chill. An its always a good day when your out in the ocean verse being at work.Thanks again guys.Big Nick..

I have been on a few trips before with this company but I can confirm this has been the worst one yet, first of all, the majority of people were not being safe by wearing masks and the captain was the rudest person ever. To top it all off they wanted to charge me to fillet my OWN fish that I caught. Very unprofessional, please go elsewhere if you actually want to have a nice fishing trip.

Always an awesome time no matter what! Chris Volaski really knows where to go in order to put fish on the boat (New Hustler). His deckhands are always ready to help and are among the best the industry has to offer. The galley items are always tasty and reasonably priced! For those new or inexperienced to fishing out here, just listen to the captain and crew and go with their recommended setups. Tony (or as i like to call him, T Money) in the office has more years experience fishing than could possibly be counted and is a wealth of information! All in all, you would really have to put a lot of effort in to have anything remotely close to a bad experience. The good times on the water are inevitable!

We chartered the boat for family trip. Randy, Steve and Punky were great. Fishing wasnt the greatest but effort was there. Coroloma a great comfortable boat.

Hooks is by far the best landing in Oxnard. This landing has the best customer service. Tony is a blast to talk too and Chris and Tucker rock. If the Aloha(Sean) and the Dawn(Pat) were to run outa here it would be the dream team and I would fish nowhere else..... Just saying Sean and Pat maybe you should leave Ciscos and Ventura.......

Friendly staff, Chris is a captain from a long line of captains in the Ventura area.his Father Andy senior has fished the waters around the Islands for more than 45 years going back to the Monte Carlo way before it moved to 22nd street in long beach. Andy Jr ran the sea watch back in the mid 90,s before buying the Dutchman and fishing commercialy around Ventura and the Islands for quite a few years. Their brother Tony also ran the Sea Watch after getting his license around 1986, and also ran Crew boats for Silvester Marine out if Ventura on the Doris. Brother Steve has commercialy fished around the Islands for years also. Dont think that they dont have some good numbers between all the years around the Area.

First off I want to say dont listen to the negative reviews, I didnt and Im so glad. The only negative about the trip was getting sea sick, which isnt their fault. The crew of the Estella,was great, the deck hand, a young guy, was a awesome, very helpful, on the ball helping tie lines, unhooking fish, fileting fish, anything you needed. Cook was very friendly, they all were, food was awesome, not bad prices. I would recommend them 10 out of 10 times, take it from someone that usually listens to reviews and doesnt use of there is any negative, Im so very happy I went with them. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could.

From the many locations and hot spots to easily kicking off seals and birds..to the wonderful crew...to the beautiful smiles and positive energy...to the wonderful cook...spacious boat Coroloma...This will be my Channel Islands perminant crew trip. Trust me you will catch lots of fish...actually you wont stop :)

Went on the coraloma yesterday, had a blast. Tyler and the crew were awesome. We maxed out on rock fish and white fish. Only bad part was there was no live bait for yellowtail but trip was great.

Went out with a bunch of friends on the New Hustler last Friday. The crew is AWESOME! Most of us aboard were a bunch of ocean fishing beginners and the crew was so helpful and patient with us. The experienced fishermen on the boat were so kind and helpful, one of them even hooking fish and letting us newbies reel them in! If this is something you would like to try, the crew from the New Hustler will have you hooked! Loved it! Thank you Chris, Bobby, Steve and Brittany for making it so special. Also - to the great group of guys we got to fish alongside, THANK YOU!

My family and I had wanted to look for a fun fishing trip to do on our vacation. When we had called several times they had always made up a different story either telling us they were full or didn’t have enough people (didn’t want us to come fishing). Also they were sitting outside smoking. If you are looking for a fun and caring crew I would consider going with a different company.

Nice little tackle shop. Good selection. Everything you need for your fishing trip on one of their boats! And if they dont have it here they can get it within a week! Tony (best yellowtail fisherman around) is usually here when the boats are gearing up for their fishing trips. Buy some lead--you can never have to much lead--and some snacks and get some free fishing advice from an expert!

Have went deep sea fishing before with a different company and loved it! But decided to try a different location and definitely REGRETED IT!! First off the people clearly didn’t want to take us fishing because we went in and talked to them and they said they were full for multiple days, but not even 5 minutes later we called them and then they told us they were open for anytime and any day we would like to go fishing! Now that they have said we could go fishing at anytime we decided to go and talk to them in person again and once again we get told we can’t go but this time because there aren’t enough people to take the boat out!! Basically I am so happy we didn’t end up going fishing with these guys because I would trust them, and instead we had an awesome day with the ISLAND PACKERS!!

I took my son here for his 21st birthday. It was appropriate as we buried his grandfather at sea with them. By far the best captains for catching delicious fish. The deckhands are amazing. Tip them well.

Beautiful part of the Ventura County. Local fish is awesome. Fish trips. Hooks is very good. Also food. Music. Bars all in the area park and walk around the area is very nice.

Best place for booking a fishing trip hands down every single employee from the cashier in the shop where you book your trip to the deck hands to the captains are amazing friendly people do yourself a favor and dont book with anyone but hooks landing youll be glad you did

Went in and was told they were booked for 5 days out, called on the phone and was told they had openings if we wanted to go. Rude to your face but sweet on the phone. I’d go somewhere else or don’t go at all before you go with them

Hooks Landing Sport Fishing is either terribly managed or is simply scamming people when it suits them. Five of us booked a 3/4 day trip aboard to Coroloma with several months in advance, after a few weeks they cancelled our reservation because someone else wanted to rent the whole boat. They offered to reschedule us... fine... Ok, its still a little over a month out thankfully since we booked well in advance. We found the only other weekend we all had free, made a reservation, booked our hotels and transportation only to get another call a few weeks before our trip informing me that they are cancelling our reservation AGAIN for the same reason they stated before. Whats the point of a reservation if your company doesnt uphold it. Then they had the nerve to offer to reschedule us again as if they didnt screw us over twice. Stay away from this company, look for someone honest instead because the people here are either incompetent or are just malicious human beings straight up commiting fraud.

Went on the coraloma yesterday had a great time!! We had a blast. If u want to have a great and fun fishing experience go on this boat. Aiden and Eddie are the best deckhands. #34

Friendly and helpfull staff. Bought some fishing gear and talked to one of the staff about some local hot surf fishing spots. All went well and I was catching fish and making a nice fish dinner in a few hours!

I believe just about everyone brought home some fish to cook. I caught 9 fish 4 different varieties and a 5th(lingcod) but a bit too short and I havent ocean fished in 20 yrs.Deck hand and galley girl were very attentive and pleasant. I plan on going out there again.

My sons and I visited from AZ and went out on the Coroloma this week. We had an amazing first fishing trip! The crew was awesome and very helpful! It made for a wonderful experience that we will never forget! Thank you for such a great day! We will defiantly return! Oh and we caught soooooo many fish!!!!

Hooks landing is the place to be y’all. Everyone’s friendly and nice and the fishing is good wether it’s from the dock whichis always a guaranteed catch or from their sport fishing trips the fishing is always good and they always keep you on the fish. Thanks for everything hooks!

A time of first for me first white sea bass first ling cod and the staff had their act together I never had to bag one fish. The deck hands accounted for every fish and targeted other species once we had limited out on ling cod and rock fish. Captain Chris was on the fish every time Steve and Ryan had the anglers all taken care of even helped me land the jackpot fish great day and looking forward to going again.

So I payed for 3 tickets for me, my dad and my uncle. We got there at 5:00 like the directions on the email say, And nobody’s here. There was supposed to be 40 people here and not a single person at the front door wondering why we aren’t getting our license ? I was supposed to go on the coloroma today. Why isn’t anybody here ? Worst fishing service ever do not buy

Generally ok. But two things to know before you go: 1.If you caught a big fish with your own bait, it wont count for a jackpot. 2. If you are having a lot of sheephead bites, captain will take you out of the spot wthin 5 minutes.Its my second time here that the boat leaves right after a lot of sheephead bites, and I was told yeah theres a lot of bites but captain is taking us to a better spot, which of course, is not true.

Like the iron worker am a retired pipefitter(union)i booked a fishing trip for my brother in law for his yearly visit to get away from my sister which i love.it was june 10 and after driving over 2 1/2 hrs i was called and told they not going out 20 minutes before boarding,they said i could do the next day trip,but rooms were$$$$$ and some young kid said the the best they could do.12 hrs heads up would be nice,and the kids running the place at night seem not to care.many of my friends said i should use cisco across the harbor and i trust their pass judgement of hooks since new owners took over.i urge all to give cisco a chance fish count better,and is highly recommended from many union pipefitter,so go have fun jimmy t
