Adopted a 3 year old male cat. The attendant was friendly and well informed. All the shots and checkups were completed and the cute guy was ready to get out of the cage.
Adopt a puppy. Its the best ever.
Very friendly and courteous staff. And they know how to get things done. They care about the animals they get.
Great staff. Plus we got a great cat! We absolutely love our little buddy.
2 fixed kittens, chipped and shots..for $75 a piece. Couldnt ask for anything more. We love our new additions.
I adopted my dog from here. I had already looked online at all the dogs KCPP had and found two I was interested in that were both at this location. When I arrived I had to wait quite awhile for someone to help me and once the staff member was available I discussed the two dogs and mentioned there were a few others I noticed that hadn t been on the website that I wanted to meet. The staff member was not very helpful with discussing which dog would fit best for me but after a short time we were taken into a room to meet one of the dogs. I liked the dog I met and the woman told me she didnt think any of the other dogs would be good. After walking around the store for awhile we decided to go ahead and adopt him. The adoption paperwork was very quick and the adoption fee was $150 which I felt was reasonable. They also gave us tons of information about training and behavior and high value coupons to the petco store the adoption site is located in. Overall this was a positive experience and I love my puppers!
Beautiful place to get & help dogs and cats 🐈 ❤ ♥ 😍 💕 😀
Adopted out pup here and i’m so glad we took the time to come check out this location! They took the time to listen to us and hear our needs/wants in a dog and they matched us with a big dog who was pretty high maintenance but we love him! I loved the interaction we had with the staff here! Adopt don’t shop!! They also have a play room where you can interact with the dogs to get to know them, and to bring in any other pets you have so they can meet!
You can really tell how well the animals are cared for. They are loved for sure. Facility was so clean and staff were very helpful!
I visited with hopes of finding a kitty that could be an addition to my current one cat household. The people working there were very friendly and more than willing to let me send ample time in the cat room. We ended up finding a little lady that would be perfect and returned a couple days later to adopt. The process was easy. I will say I was happy yo hear they offer services for behavioral issues and help with expenses related to kennel cough if you see a professional associated with their project. Those two amenities can really ease some issues that may arise during adoption. Overall, a very seamless and professional adoption with KC Pet Project at PetCo.
They gave us their undivided attention. I will definitely frequent this location!
Very well run from a volunteer standpoint! All animals seem to be in good health, staff is friendly and supportive, and adoption fees are very reasonable. I cannot wait to start volunteering here regularly!
I took the kitten orientation class on 9/15/19, and it was great! But they said that i would get a phone call soon to get baby bottle fed kittens and i am still waiting for that call. And everyone was really nice!
Located inside Petco! What a great collaboration for KC Pet Project and Petco. This is the best corporate policy to truly save and care for animals instead of selling them for profit. Please visit here first before purchasing a dog or cat from a breeder.
What a great staff!! I honestly had gone in there to kill time with my toddler and the staff made sure we were able to see all the animals knowing we were not looking to buy. They told us lots of interesting information on the animals and my son loved it! I definitely felt the need to take one home but we just cant. When and if we do, we will definitely come to this location to do so.
Went there to adopt a 2 cats. Told me shed call me and they never did. Youd think theyd want their cats to go to a good home.
Amazing animals and staff
Everybody was friendly the place was clean they really cared about the animals and it showed in their work the atmosphere is better than most
This adoption center is cool. They have lots to choose from, and the people working here are very friendly. Even though we didn’t pick a dog, but I had a pleasant experience here. Highly recommend.
My wife and I were interested in a dog here and after a dog to dog interaction with the dog we were interested in the woman who I assume was in charge came out and told us it wasnt a good fit. We werent allowed to be in the room during the introduction. They asked zero questions about our current dogs temperament before beginning and after what seemed to me to be a normal dog interaction we were told we couldnt adopt the dog we wanted based on the lady who I assumed was in charges assessment of what happened. We were able to view the whole thing. Afterwards she had the gaw to tell us what we wanted in a dog and told me when I informed her of what we were actually looking for well that just makes it more complicated. If you want what amounts to voodoo science from someone who maybe watched a couple of videos on fog behavior telling you what dog you should and shouldnt have by all means go ahead but as for us we will no longer waste our time with this shelter as the management seems more interested in stroking their own egos than finding qualified homes for dogs.
Prices are very expensive
Health wonderful pet. Staff was over the top caring for animals.
Extremly friendly staff and amazing knowledge of the animals on hand.
The new building is incredible, plenty of parking, very helpful people!
Great improvement, really needed for a long time.
Amazing place to work with! They were great with our adoption
Great place to find your next fur baby.
This is a long one.So Ive been interested in one certain dog for about a month now. I had to put my dog down and when I looked on their website, I fell in love with beautiful Akita boy. I went in and visited him (Note this location is 38 - 40 mins from me), everything going well. I ended up going in multiple times to ask questions and visit him because I was so invested in this dog. It was my fourth visit in and I was sealing the deal with some last few questions because I was planning on getting him the day after. I talked to the lady I had been talking with previous visits and she had been nothing but helpful and sweet, but she directed me towards the manager. When I mentioned I had a cat (fully aware of the process Id have to go through when introducing them) I was told, Oh hed eat it. Without any explanation. I had discussed with the previous lady that I had a cat and she said Id be fine as long as I worked with him. The manager was quite rude to me and giving short answers to my questions. I was clearly flustered so she went on to say Oh, he barks and chases squirrels and birds so hell definitely eat the cat. I wasnt going to take that as an answer so I went to both the Zona and Main shelter locations and was told as long as I work with him itd be fine.Great.I went in again with the leash and collar clearly ready to take him home when I was told, The owner of your house needs to meet him. I knew this dog was going mine and my dad has giving me permission to get him knowing I was paying for everything. No where was it stated, nor was I told the 4 other visits I went there that he needed to come in. Flustered again, I was allowed to put him on hold, but not the 24 hour hold. Why I wasnt allowed to do the 24 hour hold, I dont know. Today I went in (for the 6th time) to finally adopt him and my dad was with me and I was told he was adopted before I got there, which was an hour after they opened. Why I had to go through so much to get him and then someone comes in and gets him instantly is frustrating. 2 out of the 3 employees there were completely rude when answering my questions (the manager and some woman) while only 1 employee was helpful and ready to give him to me. The dogs were well taken care of which is the only reason why I gave them 2 stars, but the staff (aside from the 1) clearly had no intentions of adopting this dog out to me. It should be stated somewhere all the policies because if I would have known quite of few things ahead of time, I would have been able to adopt this dog. If this was because of my age (that being 20), then viewpoints should be changed if you are wanting people to adopt.Update: I was able to adopt a dog. Im happy with him, but Im still going to leave this experience up. I was treated much better this time around.
Did hate just couldnt afford the prices ...
Super friendly adoption location and voletneers, even at almost full capacity they had ample room for the animals and rushed around not slowing down on their routine EVEN while doing adoption paper work with us. We offered to donate the full price of our Tubs on the spot but told them about how payday was the next day and we didnt want to bring him home without everything we wanted and needed for him yet, the staff was really really nice and made an agreement with us which arragned for us to be able to get the things we needed AND take our chunky puppers home that same night. We FOESURE will be helping out the Kc Pet Project anyway we can at any location when we find the time between our work and after our puppers is settled in more. THANK YOU TO ALL THE VOLUNTEERS EVERYWHERE.
They are really nice people... even though I couldnt find my dog, they helped me go through this hard time...
Tried to go up an adopted dog that they had posted on their website.. Upset that we drove 45 minutes to this particular Petco for this dog only to find out that his unadoptable to families that have children. That is something that should have been posted on their adoption site.
Loser says...dedicated staff is saving lives of thousands of animals a year. I volunteered at the main location several times. Everyone there is committed to helping animals find a home. Losers of every persuasion must go there and save an animal....please?
You can get your pet micro chipped here for super cheap and it takes no time at all
Amazing! Best adoption experience in KC. Got our furever friend.
No prices. No option to ask for any or mixed dogs under 10 lbs at full growth
We adopted our dog here just after Christmas. The staff is wonderful and works very hard.
It was very unorganized the nurses seem to have been lost. We were the Third people to come in and register and we were the last to be seen by the doctor The wait was ridiculous next time my puppy goes to a vet.
Great atmosphere great and smart employees
They were nice and very helpful on finding my perfect animal
The staff is very friendly and professional. I had a great adoption experience.
Great organization doing great work
Didnt have a wide selection of pets as most of them reside at the main adoption center, but who knows maybe your pet resides here. They are doing great work!!
Very rude girl working there. Resulting in my family not adopting a dog.
Really nice people. Cat ran away though.
Still cost alot to get a puppy.
I love our new dog
Loved it and Ill keep volunteering here
Awesome shelter. Friendly staff!
If I could give it 0 stars I would waited 3 hours to not see a dog yet to be told we needed my service dog there before we could adopt but had to put a hold on the dog that didnt go to the adoption fee only had 2 people working let people cut ahead in line just all over a major disappointment came home without another baby due to all the bs that happened only have a few dog to choose from all over made a great day into a awful one
Very friendly and helpful
Great place to get a pet
