Mike was just fantastic! He came out quickly, was nice as can be, explained every step to my 7 year old who was very curious, and got everything done so quickly. Not that I ever want anything else to be wrong with my house but that was one of the best repair experiences Ive ever had!

Rude and inexperienced, his lack of attention to detail and failure to read basic paperwork should make any resident and especially investors leery of this place. If you can not even respond politely and intelligently in a simple email follow up, how on earth will you manage any customer or client expectations.Let alone follow the laws of the state.Walk away. Couldnt get them on the phone at all. Got redirected to a full voicemail box everytime. Scheduled a viewing for a place I was really interested in and then the day before the viewing it gets cancelled. Extremely disappointed.

BALD RICK & HIS YES MAN BROOKLYN* My experience with this company was horrible since day one & I have proof behind everything. I have my own business I don’t have a reason to make up anything about no one because that’s all this company results too. I never signed the lease, never even seen it until move in day. I went through multiple break ins, the apartment wasn’t cleaned properly at all upon moving in, bed bug infestation, other insects, no air in 100 degree weather, horrible communication, not letting me break my lease for safety reasons after my car was broken into, not fixing anything, mold, methhead neighbors like everything you could think of I saved and saved to be able to move from there and get away from that environment. Now, a year later I finally moved out June 30th. I didn’t give him no issues, I made sure the place looked exactly how it looked when I moved in so yet again, ive done nothing wrong. Every since I left my key & called to give them the fwd date for my deposit I’ve been blocked. Shortly after that, rent was charged for the month of July(I was able to dispute it but there not the point) no one was responding to my calls or emails but they’re charging me unauthorized fees. My deposit is being held. The water was on even after I moved which could’ve been prevented if they answered as well. I’m just completely over this company. They are highly not recommend.Update; I reached out to a different worker, I emailed ryan instead of Rick & Brooklyn because usually they’ll just ignore me. He sent me a breakdown 30+ days after move out, now coming out & saying my deposit was forfeited because They charged me for July’s rent but I was moved out before rick agreed date. At this moment, I realized they’ll take your money one way or another. Please read lease thoroughly!! Small claims court with evidence (always document everything) is your best bet with deposit schemes like this.
This is an excellent property management group from the perspective of a renter. They are scaled enough to take care of issues quickly and professionally, but small enough to feel personal and be selective of their owner relationships. The property I leased was just in the cost/quality/size sweet spot of what I needed in a very tough rental market.
I had a wonderful experience getting approved and starting the rental process to get into one of their homes! They were very responsive, easy to communicate with and even hooked me up with a couple of accessories that were not initially included in the home I wanted!! I have leased a home in Independence with PMI Destination for 4 years now. I have only good things to say about them. Anytime I had a maintenance issue it was addressed immediately and they did great work. They are easy to get ahold of and communicate with if there is a problem. I would recommend friends and family to use them if they are looking to lease a home in the kc metro.
I work for PMI as a vendor, and they are one of the best companies I work for. I never have to chase Rick down for payment. And Brooklyn is always very quick for any assistance I may need from her.

Moved into an adorable rehabbed house in Waldo. After a bit of a rough start dealing with a utility company, we got through it. I stayed involved in solving my issues with the team and everyone remained pleasant during the process. They also made up for it in a couple different ways which was very appreciated.A month into the lease Im happy to say Ive been taken care of and absolutely love my home.Special thanks to Ryans team in Shawnee Mission for getting me all squared away.

Been living @ one of their properties for roughly 16 months. After mentioning a water-leaking fridge that we are renting with the house, nothing was done. Also, upon moving in, there was a gigantic pile of lawn garbage and giant tree limbs and sticks that have been left there from the previous tenant.Regardless, after paying early or on time every time, this month they tell us we cant extend the payment deadline one day until Friday. This is in direct contradiction to what Carmen agreed to upon us signing the lease. It was discussed that management was understanding of these types of situations; and would be flexible as long as there is an open line of communication. This is not the case. My GF reached out last week about extending the rent deadline by 1 day. Ive gone through multiple medical issues, losing my job and having to find another one, and a car wreck that basically put me paycheck to paycheck. There is no empathy for other peoples situations. Im surprised this rating has gone up at all. Will not be staying here much longer. This company just seem to want your money and to not have you bother them. No extenuating circumstance will allow an extension.And unless you use their portal and are prepared to pay for maintenance, dont count on anything getting done or fixed properly or in a timely fashion; or in our case, not at all.The picture of the limbs is still here even though the managements reply said they were going to fix it... Another month theyve been sitting here. Theyre liars and swindlers. Stay away.

This is a joke of a leasing office. Spent +$80 to send in an application and it took TWO WEEKS. Again, TWO WEEKS to get a hold of these people. First they didn’t receive my past leasing managements letter. Guess who had to call and figure that out, ME. Second, they had issues with our income, but guess who had to reach out to them to find that out? ME. No email, no call from them about what they were concerned about or needed from us. And finally, I had to call to ask once again if we got approved or denied. Brooklyn let me know she would get back to me that day and that she needed to talk to Ryan. I have previously emailed Ryan about my income and NO RESPONSE. I called later the same day wondering what was taking so long, Ryan answered this time saying that Brooklyn was in charge of the applications. He gave me a false email so that I could talk to her. Never received a call that day about my applications. Here comes today, I call to get an answer. Quick and easy they let me know the results. I’m perfectly okay with the fact that we got denied, what I’m not ok with is the LACK OF COMMUNICATION. THE LACK OF CARE. THE LACK OF URGENCY. Good luck to the renters who may have any issues with their rental properties because it may take a year for anything to be done by these people. Very unprofessional. I do not recommend.
My boyfriend and I moved into one of their homes in September. We have since learned that all of the grey water and waste goes into a hole in the garage that smells up the entire home and these cheapskates refuse to do anything. RUN RUN RUN. I am paying $1,000 to eat and sleep in a home that smells disgusting and I am am also pregnant and they refuse to do anything. Their leases also have outrageous charges for maintenance. Each time maintenance has to come out you have to pay money so be warned! These people definitely care more about profits then they do their tenants. I really wanted to give them a chance to fix it but am tired of the excuses. Their head maintenance guy is nice and so is the the ladies in the front office unfortunately their kindness does not make up for this smelly situation. eww.

We rented a nice little home on a quiet street in Raytown. Application process was very easy and the maintenance team came quickly for emergencies and repairs when needed. PMI expects tenants to take care of the home and pay rent on time. If you do those two things all will be well. We took good care of our home and got our deposit back.

My experience with PMI Destination Properties has been truly positive. I have rented from a few other property rental companies, but working with PMI has been just about seamless. Our agent, Blythe, was very responsive (even on weekends) as we pulled together our housing application and anytime when questions had come up. Anna and Rick were additionally very helpful when I had questions directly to the PMI office over the phone. Finally, sitting down with Kermen was pleasant as she patiently walked through the lease with my brother and I. She answered all of our questions thoroughly and the flexibility offered at PMI for length of rental lease was surprising, but encouraging!
30 minutes before our movers were scheduled to show up on a Saturday to move us into our new PMI property, the maintenance guy, Mike M., called to tell us a drunk driver drove through the house. This was at 730am. Mike went ABOVE AND BEYOND to assist us and by 11am we had another, nicer property ready for us to move into. On Sunday, Mike returned to the new house (that we were still able to move into on Saturday) to do some small repairs for us. Mind you, this was on his planned 4 day vacation. We are SO thankful for the amazing service we have already experienced with PMI, and especially Mike M.

We have been renting with Destination Properties for about 6 months now, They have absolutely wonderful to communicate with, and respond very quickly to maintenance calls. I feel like i am truly at home in this property. I am so glad we rent from such a great company. Definitely will recommend to everyone I come across.
I just moved in and have not had much opportunity to get to know the management team very well. However Blythe was wonderful to work with. She and Cody toured the house to us and then helped us move in a week later! Phillicia helped us with the application process and tackled our weird application extremely well, not to mention she stayed in constant contact with us for several days until we were accepted. So far it has been a wonderful experience!

Pretty disappointed with this company. Lacks communication, they seem to have a very high employees turn over rate, so you never get the same person on the phone. There’s also an issue in regards to; security deposit refund and pro rated rent. That’s a long story, that I will just leave at this... if you move into one of their properties, even if you left the place cleaner than when you moved in, they would still take the whole security deposit. And even if you move out and someone else takes over the lease in the same month and they tell you they will refund the pro rated amount, they won’t. Maybe that’s why you never get to talk to the same person. Definitely not in it for customer service, seems to me just $$$$. I’ve rented at plenty of other places and haven’t had this issue, so as for my experience, I do NOT recommend this company.
So far dealing with PMI has been wonderful, Blythe was wonderful to deal with the house showings and lease signing process, and Alex has answered our myriad of phone calls when tracking down a property that suited our needs.Looking forward to our move into our new rental this month!
DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!! I repeat again whatever you do dont rent from this company. Destination properties, otherwise known as the We Buy Ugly Houses They are terrible and will charge you for everything. Need a house call? Even if it is something that is their responsibility they will charge you for each house call. We had an issue with a drain backing up. Not only did the entire basement flood (and I mean a couple of inches on the carpet in the complete basement. Im talking when you stepped on the floor it would completely cover your toes). We had to clean up the mess. It took them a few days to respond, but after they charged us we still had to run two Rug Drs all day and all night. It took us a few days of constant shampooing before we could get the water up. I mean from the time I got up 5:30am to about 11:00pm. When we moved out, the place was cleaner than when we moved in. I painted all the walls and trim, shampooed all the carpets again, cleaned windows outside and inside. I also spent time on my hands and feet cleaning the tile and hardwood floors, scrubbed the bathroom. When we did move in there were no blinds in the house, but when we left the house we put up new ones. They finally contacted us, they charged us a cleaning fee on the house and for new carpet that they had to replace. This wasnt new carpet.They will charge you for everything and I wouldnt count on getting your deposit back no matter how the house looks. They have the worst business ethics I have ever seen. If they respond to me I will post itOk they have responded pretty quickly on the computer here. Wish they had that kind of service when I lived there. Theyre response was the same generated post that I have seen in several other reviews

My husband & I rented from this company for a short period of time. There were several concerns that we had with the property! The biggest being the sewer that leaked all over our living room and the maintance man told us to put a bucket under the leak. It destroyed our 2000 couch. The screen door was old and broken, they wouldnt allow for a new one and told us to take it off. After we left the property since they wouldnt keep their end of the lease before renting to someone else they did repair the front door and put a new one on. They also have a family member that lives in similar duplexes that was disclosing other renters business. Very unprofessional and TROUBLE. I never got the opportunity to speak with the owner of the property as they wouldnt allow it. I wish they knew what kind of people they hired to work in their office. They will try to ruin your credit and charge for anything they possibly can. In it for the money NOT for customer satisfaction.

Talk about being fair, My Wife and I had cameras up, and had permission from the owner, he was the one who put the signs saying Warning Security Cameras. And the cameras were not invading the privacy of other tenants. But no we had to take them because of a bogus complaint from another tenant. Had the cameras up for 5 years. The same tenant who starts trouble so of course they complained about security cameras. Funny how it all went down. WHAT GOES AROUND SURE AS HECK COMES BACK AROUND!!! BELIEVE THAT!!! YOU CANT DO PEOPLE LIKE THAT. The renter coordinator off in space somewhere. Dont have a clue on how to handle complaints, let tenants do as they please. It seems as if all they care about is collecting rent. All about money, and thats why that place will have nothing but scum living there. Nice place to live, but when you have people like destination properties managing it and tenants who dont care, have no respect or consideration for others. There you have it. They Suck and dont care about the property or the tenants. Best believe my Wife and I moved out!!! OF COURSE THE OWNER DONT WANNA HEAR THE TRUTH. I HAVE NO REASON TO LIE. FAIR, FIRM LOL!!!!
Mike the maintenance guy is awesome to work with. He knows what he’s doing and does his job well. We’ve had a handful of issues with the house but each time he was there to fix them for us very quickly and effectively. Unfortunately the house is not in the best shape but knowing that Mike is there to fix any issues that arise makes it less stressful. Only reason I wouldn’t put 5 stars is because the house is not in the best shape and all the issues we had when we first moved in were a result of the company doing a very poor pre-move in assessment to fix the problems before we moved in, so we had to call and fix each issue one by one. Definitely could’ve been avoided with more attention to detail and time put into the house on their part, but I understand Mike is now overseeing the pre-move in work so I’m confident something like this would not happen again. The people are easy to work with and respond fairly quickly to emails.

Rented a duplex in de soto for 2 years and wanted something closer to OP for our jobs. Found another pmi duplex in olathe, and moving in was a snap. Mike did our pre move in walk through and documented every thing we noticed so that we would not be held responsible.

Andrea in the office is understanding, caring and very professional. Beware of this company and all of its employees. They will steal from you and make numerous broken promises. The owners are shady crooks...Candace and JD Asbell....Please run far away from these terrible human beings. Kerman and Andrea are terrible human beings. They have gotten a whole lot better now that Mike has come to be the new maintenance guy. The other guy just did bandaid work on the properties inwhich caused him to have to keep coming out cause the job was never done right. The ladys in the iffice are nice but there is one that is aways on the defence. She just needs to remember that we are the customer. But Ive been renting from them for 3 years now its a nice company all and all. May god bless the company I do believe that they mean well and try to do the right thing. They charge a 65 dollar fee or so for coming out for repairs that are not preexisting from or reoccuring. I hope this helps
Bad news this company is. Take your business some place else, this company can and will ruin your credit report even when you prove them wrong.
