Used A-1 Professional Engineering before deciding to buy a house in October 2015.Pros: quick, knowledgeableCons: Takes money and is ready to move on to next appointment. Rather than this guy understanding that I was paying for his time to provide me advice and education about the house that I may be buying he was more concerned about moving on to his next assignment. He was short in his answers, became frustrated when my wife and I, and our realtor, asked him for clarification or education about what he was stating (we dont know anything about engineering and this was our first home purchase).I would not use him again. I would have not used him in the first place, but the company that was recommended to me was booked solid for many months and I needed an engineering report much sooner.

Mark Schulte was hired to complete a structural engineering report. The report was needed for the KCMO permit and plans section, to issue a permit to rebuild a foundation wall on a residential property. Mr. Schultes work was inadequate according to KCMO permit and plans. The city asked that Mr. Schulte answer seven questions the city had regarding his report prior to issuing a permit. I sent said questions to Mr. Schulte and he replied I performed your foundation inspection, as requested. I can not believe what all the city is asking for. This is beyond the scope of services for me. I do not have the time nor the desire to do all the things the city inspector is requesting.Do not use his services!
